about my car that doesn't. I'm not saying I hate the car, it's just a couple of things the manufacturer could address and fix or just a few things you guys need to keep in mind if you're potentially going to buy one of these or if you're just in general. I'm curious, so I've been very, very lucky, I've been very fortunate to have some great cars over the years.

I make these videos almost every time I get a new body style, a new type of car, because it just lets me you know some of the things that someone doesn't like. I could tell you a million things I love about the car, but that's not fun. Everyone wants to hear the bad things, so today we're going to talk about the bad things. It means that any of these five things are absolutely momentous and would be a deal breaker, but I think there are some things that you should keep in mind and I wanted to share with you, that not everything is perfect, even the almighty C8

, which is almost perfect in every way, maybe except for these five, so let's go ahead and get started guys, for thing number one, we're going to get in the car and here we're going to talk about the glare problem, so there's these lovely little aluminum ones.

Sort of a satin aluminum finish and plastic cutout areas around the air conditioning vent. I don't know how you describe them, but under the air conditioning vents, as you can see here in this clip, these little things just shine sunlight right into your eyes while you're. Driving on the road if the sun is in the right or wrong place, obviously as I'm sure you can guess it is very annoying when you are driving on the road and it feels like the sun is right in your eyes which distracts you a lot. and it's very annoying again, it doesn't happen all the time, the sun just has to be in the perfectly wrong place to be annoying, but it actually happens quite a bit almost every day on the way to work.

I go to work at the same time. At the same time, the sun is pretty much in the same place every day and hits me in exactly the same place every time. Now Chevrolet offers a carbon fiber interior package and that gives you carbon fiber on both doors, this little center area, not the area around the door. AC vents and that's what I think they should add. I think it would look cool to have that carbon fiber under all the vents and here's a picture of what Audi does so Audi has that option what I'm talking about that looks the same to begin with than the Chevrolet with that aluminum finish.

If you want to go with carbon fiber it's just 500 through Audi and then they make the whole carbon fiber area look much better I'm sure. Reduces glare, it's just not a super bright reflective material. BMW and Mercedes also do very similar things with their interiors. So why doesn't Chevrolet give you the carbon fiber option? But for me it's not enough, it's just the little pieces of the door just a little bit around the gauge cluster that you can't see because the steering wheel blocks it and then there's a little piece here next to your little mode selector and your control button of traction, why don't they finish everything else in carbon fiber I think that would look cool now, moving on to number two.

The second thing I hate about the C8 Corvette has to do with this whole tailgate area. Now visually it looks really cool. The problem I have with it is all these vents. that are on the sides of the glass and what it does to the whole area back here, so every time you wash the car, every time you drive the car and it rains, all that water has to go somewhere and in this case goes into your engine compartment, so if we open up this whole rear hatch here, you'll see that your rear hatch is not just your trunk but it's also the engine compartment, it's all here, all together, so what I hate about this is number one, water gets everywhere except number two, it just makes it incredibly difficult to clean this entire area of ​​the engine bay, the rear glass that's up here in the hatch and the rear glass that separates the actual cabin. of the car basically from the back half of the car, so all of this glass is extremely annoying to clean and in order to show you if I was going to reach in here to clean this glass, let's say I have to do this motion, which is strange, If I'm cleaning this, I have to get like this. this, if I'm cleaning here, I'm all the way in the car to clean these windows and it's very, very annoying and unpleasant, it's not something I like, however, as I walk to my handy dandy front trunk, I'll pull this out.

Lovely gadget that I bought on Amazon so what this little guy does is basically a little square of microfiber and with this square of microfiber you spray it with a little bit of glass cleaner and then you can come in here and clean with this little guy instead of your hands , so all this. contraption doing all this movement is still a bit painful, I won't lie much easier than doing it like jumping on the side of the car and trying to do it even once I caught myself doing this movement and I think it hurt my back for about two weeks after that, so don't do that.

It's a pretty interesting little thing, I think it was like I don't know, maybe nine or ten dollars. um, but it does a pretty good job, now you can ask if there's a solution for this kind of thing if you're going to wash your car. I've seen some people put tape on these little vents on the side that keep some water in. The water comes out. I've seen other people put on a towel and cover this entire area on both types of work, but really no, that doesn't help you if it's raining or the engine is hot either.

I would recommend not putting a towel. your engine hot the way to fix all this get a convertible if you buy a convertible you can't see the engine bay everything is covered half your problems are gone in that sense you just can't see the engine so it depends which way you want, but that's number two for this video so for number three join me here inside the car so number three is going to be the visibility anywhere behind you so if it's to the back I've got the spoiler high wing it blocks half your vision right halfway right in your rearview mirror, so when I look back I have to focus under the wing or above the wing to see what's going on with the cars behind me, but also look at you. out of your blind spots now if you set your mirrors correctly you're fine if you're on the freeway and trying to see who's in the next lane that's fun that's not the problem the problem is if you're going in in one of those little things that merge and I'll put a little diagram if this path goes straight and this one comes at an angle, you have no idea what's going on, out there, at any angle, so if you're trying to look around over your shoulder yeah good luck you won't see anything because there's a big wall of stuff in the road so it's a little sketchy when you change lanes sometimes or merge onto highways. and there are certain situations that you can't see at all, so that's when you just put your foot down and hope for the best and hope that you have enough space in front of you to make your way into things, but I won't.

It's probably one of the biggest ones and it's a bit stressful again if you get two or three. You get a blind spot that monitors the blind spots in the actual mirrors themselves isn't really the problem, it's just looking directly behind you. it's not very good it reminds me of a lamborghini aventador just a little slot like a male slot to look at and you say ok i hope i'm ok and then looking around the sides isn't the best now number four has to do . with going topless so you thought this was going to be an unrated rp bad not going topless like taking off the roof so I'm going to finish taking off this roof and then we'll talk about what I want to say so I hope the audio don't be so bad. here, but one of the best things about the car is that yes, you can take the roof off.

What I have a problem with here is that there is a lot of wind noise and buffeting once you get up to speed, so I hope the wind isn't like that. too bad we're doing 30 here right now 30 is not a problem 35 40. It's really no problem, but if you're going to take the roof off, you're probably going to roll down the windows, so let's do it, so now We've got the window down, let's go 35 miles per hour, 40 miles per hour, there's really no problem here, so it's fun when you're going at a slow speed on a back road and you're just cruising, it's really not bad at all. but wait there's more now when we take this road here and we go a little faster you probably use my hair to sell when it gets bad there's 60 you got 70 75 this is 75 miles an hour so yeah anything else from 75 not great bob not great you have 75. here you have 80. right here it's 80 miles an hour and my hair is partying so go back down to 50 here 50 and below really not bad 16 down really not bad a once you get over 60 a lot of wind noise your hair starts to go crazy if you're a woman your hair goes everywhere my wife doesn't really like riding in this thing with no roof if we go over 60 miles an hour because her hair it's all over the place and I don't blame him, right, that's annoying, it's annoying for me and I don't have that long of a repair, so it's something to keep in mind if you're going to spend a lot of time on the On the road, uh, get the convertible, so if you buy the convertible, they have this neat little rear window that you can raise and lower, which helps a lot with airflow, so convertibles have a lot less wind noise.

Still, it is quite noticeable compared to the previous generation. corvettes that are convertible the c7 corvette really wasn't bad at all when you take the roof off that thing it was fine you could go almost as fast as you wanted and yes it sure is a little windy but it wasn't. Not a bad C8 for some reason I suppose, however the body panels are at a bit of an annoying angle when you're going at a decent pace, so last and probably least number five here has to do with the length of this. door and how difficult it is to open, get in and out in a tight place, so for example here we are in my garage, this is about how far do I park from the wall and as you will see in the first little latch here how I have it parked right now with about an inch of space, um, so I can't really do much beyond the first little indentation in the door.

My garage is 20 by 20 feet so it's a standard two car garage, the same on the other side, with my wife's cars parked on that side, it's pretty much the same there, so when you walk in , there really isn't an easy way to do this, so I can see some people just sticking their butt in first and then trying to like it. I don't even know what you're doing here with your legs, but that's very uncomfortable since you can see the same thing coming out, you have to swing them weirdly, so if I try to go in one more time, which usually works a little for me.

Mine doesn't have it so I'm very grateful for that and actually if you don't get the z51 really. There isn't much dust on the brakes, so it doesn't really affect my car, but a lot of people have complained about it.
