Unknown Coatings - Ep 16 - Powder Coating glow in the dark wheels!

May 01, 2020
I know this probably looks great here in this completely

dark

room, but this video is to show you how ridiculous

glow

in the

dark

powder

really is. What's up, everyone welcome back to the channel, as you can see from the title. From this video we are going to do something a little ridiculous today. I asked a group of you what I should do with this demo wheel or one of the new demo

wheels

for this year's booth. I got a lot of good suggestions. I had a lot of people suggest

glow

in the dark. I was pretty against it for several reasons which we'll get to here in a minute, but I decided to go ahead and do it for the reason I'm going to do it.

That's what I want people who are thinking about

powder

coating

or people who are going to have parts powder coated or even other powder coaters who haven't used this product to see that it's pretty much a waste of money. I have used it before in projects. Not car related. I did one thing that was related to the car. I think I made a valve cover for someone. One of the biggest problems you will run into with this product is that it requires a lot of light to charge it. Be like any glow in the dark thing we all remember as kids putting things next to the lamp to charge so when you charge it it glows which is amazing, biggest problem I've ever seen.

More Interesting Facts About,

unknown coatings ep 16 powder coating glow in the dark wheels...

It basically has to be completely dark to see this, which doesn't seem like a big deal, except when it's completely dark there are no people who can see it, so if you're in the middle of nowhere. I guess it's completely dark, there's no city light, there's no ambient light, there's no light from anything, you'll see. I guess what I'm going to do is spray this demo wheel with glow in the dark. I'm using a polar white as a base, I actually think it's a choice. White is a base, not that it really matters with bright yellow.

Bright yellow is just a transparent type of antifreeze. The green I often use is very similar to shocking yellow, which I think. many people are probably familiar with clear glow, clear glow of course you will use this, it's the glow in the dark part, bright yellow technically has a glow in the dark additive, it's basically the same as shocking yellow , just one night, it seems to reflect the color a little better, so it probably has some kind of glow-in-the-dark element to it, so hopefully we'll go through this process right now. To save you some hassle and time, money, help me.

I mean, if you want me to do it, bring me your parts. I'll be happy to spray them whenever they want, it's just for me, it would be a waste of money, so I can. I don't imagine it's a good idea to tell others to do it, so let's go through this process right now. Let's blow this wheel up. This is a nosy that has some cracks that were welded together and cracked again. I got it from one of my good clients, so let's use this demo and map it out right now again inspired, see your flex on the beautiful three.
Oh, you're okay, the last clip you just watched is this wheel, so Buy this light for an hour and a half so the glow in the dark just doesn't work. It's a shame. It would be great if it worked. I mean, it shines a little. It looks good on camera. It's not great, obviously, but. "The fact that you have to have a light like this with a super high output softbox, I mean, put as much light on it as possible for over an hour to get some brightness, even you can't get the color ". It doesn't even turn on the light, you can even see all the tops of everything where all the light was going down, it better shine better or whatever, so you know unfortunately glow in the dark won't work, hopefully this saves you people the hassle of having to bother their powder coater.
If you are a powder coater, you know not to even bother with it. I've seen tons of videos online of people saying it works and I've never seen results that are even decent so for other things I've used it before for household things and it works pretty well made as a light switch made it glow in the dark in a dark basement at one point, so it was pretty impressive, but beyond that it's pretty much a waste, guys, that concludes another video. I want to give a big shout out to Justin's Tan for printing the sticker that is now on the back of the booth, like it, subscribe, hit the notification bell so you're notified every time I post. a video, if you want to see another Mia, try other glow in the dark products, this was the glow, be clear with Chris Matic, if you want to see me, try someone else's.
I'm more than happy to do it. I know they do. They are in a few different colors, but I haven't seen good results with any other glosses listed online. I'll be happy to try it no matter what, so let me know in the comments if you think there's a brand I should give a try. and I'll just end this video, young man famous for being on oh well this is awkward, you're still here, well I guess watch one of these two videos, I'll just play some video games while you do that.
