Fairy Mushroom house

May 04, 2020
hi everyone i had so many requests for a

fairy

mushroom

house

i thought i'd share how i made it you could use any type of stone but i'm using the Santorini stones again because they are a perfect shape i just use anything that has a curve at the top and I'm going to start today using pencil just to give you the general idea of what we're going to do. I usually don't do it in this order. I draw it in pencil to sketch out my idea but I don't paint it in this order but I show you how it will look ahead of time because some people asked me or mentioned oh I liked it until you got to that part or I liked it until you added that So I'm going to give you a general idea of what this

mushroom

house

is going to look like ahead of time and then I'm going to work backwards a bit with the paint and stuff, but I'll explain it as we go along, so the same with my door.
fairy mushroom house
Fairy in last weekend's tutorial, it's a round door because I like round. ed look it's going to be a fat stubby mushroom and that's the way I like it and it's going to be double doors this time not just one door like the

fairy

door we did last week and this is going to be super cute and it's going to be of course a lot of purple because that's my favorite so I'm going to color it a bit with the darker paint so you can better see the shape and put that shape on your rock and if you need to pause. just take a break and then come back to me when you're ready and we'll keep painting together, so this is the general idea.

More Interesting Facts About,

fairy mushroom house...

I am touring the Santorini stone sides if you are interested in getting some of this stone there. there is a link in the description and it is to go to a link on facebook called Santorini Rocks and that is where I bought these stones and they are honest goodness age they are a dream to paint on and some of them are the perfect size for the ferry. doors so I definitely recommend contacting Katy now I'm using purple c choose whatever color you want. In fact, I'm making two, but I'll surprise you with the second one. I'm applying two coats of a nice deep purple, but while the second coat is still wet, I'm going to go just above the edge. of the mushroom cap with a lighter purple so it's like a lavender color I guess you could say and I'm blending it with a sponge any sponge will work and we just want to lighten that so it looks nice and curvy and a Puffy, plump little mushroom house, giving it a really cool effect.

If you're having trouble with the blend part, you don't have to paint it a solid color. It's still going to look amazing when we're done anyway so I'm going to use a lighter blue it's actually called royal I don't think it's french blue and I'm just coloring the inside of my mushroom cap in that lighter blue and then I'm going to blend in a little bit of purple underneath, just below the edge. of the cap to make it look like there's some shading there you'll see it in a moment now I'm going to make my door brown you can choose whatever color you want to make yours but today I'm going to make a door brown I'm just putting a thick coat around the outside and then i'm off going back to my sponge again and like i said before any sponge will work you can even use makeup sponges and stuff just keep rinsing them don't mix the same colors like using a different sponge for each color or wash it each time so I just sponged it to make that texture there and made it lighter on the inside now I'm going to go in and I'm mixing that shade under that cap just with a little bit of purple and added to it an eye out if i need to add a little more blue and blend it in ok works better for blending paint when wet now i am using the dark purple again to go in and do the lines that are under the lid and e i'm sure there's a name for that and i'm sure someone will let me know you can let me know definitely i know the doors have hinges i've never gotten so many messages and comments about hinges but thank you all and i'll never forget how those things are called the doors.

Now I'm putting a nice thick black line under the edge of the lid so it's very noticeable it already looks like it's curved in there now with that blue that lighter blue I'm mixing it with a little bit of white and like I said before I don't usually do that in these steps so normally I don't even put the door or the bricks or anything, I paint the background of my house first and then I add the bricks and the door and everything in there, but I wanted you to see what we're going to do, what what awaits you today so i painted it light blue like i said choose the colors you want to use if you want to use actual mushroom colors thats up to you the other mushroom house i'm painting as i do this tutorial has a more natural looking mushroom colors but it's still a fairy house all the way and you'll see at the end so I'm just outlining the outer parts of the house and the outer parts of the mushroom cap itself are all in a thicker black line now my PIN cel I've used in this tutorial and every tutorial I have a tutorial on how to do it so check out my channel there are over 40 tutorials and it's there.
This part is optional, as it says on the screen for you. I like my house to have a little call it blush on the chubbier part of my mushroom. I just blushed a little darker color um I don't know I like the way it makes the house look overall but you don't have to do this and blurring is really frustrating sometimes so if you want to keep the blending to the minimum don't do this part just continue after I'm done with this and blend when the paint is wet and keep adding the lighter blue and keep blending it so it all blends into a nice nice ombre effect I guess you can call it but I call it blushing even though it's not pretty and pink I call it blushing the chubby parts of my mushroom and I'm not school trained I'm self taught so I can call it blushing the chubby parts and I'm not offending anyone or anything , so now that it's all blended and blush, I'm going to make this window look a little bit more like a window and we're going to color it, you can see that there's the window frame. in pencil I'll put the frame back up here but I just wanted to show you guys again ahead of time what's in store for you what the window will look like now I'm just putting very faint white lines across the length of the window in one direction just to make it look like there's a little bit of glare on the window and then we're going to go over that like it's not even there and we're going to paint the window frame on you you can put the window on the other side you can have two windows you can have a little balcony you can do whatever you want t That's what makes this so much fun and none of this is realistic I mean I'm sure there are real fairy houses out there and I'm sure mine is nothing like them , but this is what mine would look like if I were to make one. so you can do whatever you want with it this will have double doors like i said before so there will be four hinges can you believe it?
I remembered what they were called again, there will be four of them and they are going to be simple hinges. I'm just putting a thicker line in the middle to make sure everyone knows that it's two separate doors and they need to know to pull with either handle because now there will be two handles. I'm just lining this with black paint I just want I'm not using a ruler they're not perfectly spaced I just want to accentuate that there are different boards on the door the wood there I want them to barely show but I want them to show but not as thick as the midline.
I'm wearing gold nails. It's what you can find on Amazon because that's where I buy it here in Canada, probably anywhere you can buy a lot of nail supplies. I'm literally rubbing it between the lines. I barely put it between the lines just to accentuate the dash on the door one more time and that's optional, you don't have to do that, you don't have to go out and buy glitter if you don't want to. you can also apply like a light coat of gold paint between the boards and that will do almost the same thing but not quite.
I like the glitter here we go with the hinges here we go people here are my hinges now you're going to make fun of the shape of them because they're just plain hinges if you can't find hinges like that in a store that's because I made them today now once all your black hinges and your doorknobs and everything dry the black part you can go in and just accent the black with some spun gold or whatever gold you have or if you want to use silver you can use silver you don't have to use gold but gold is nice i love gold now i'm just going to go over the window frame with some gold also the rest of this is all the details so i thought this was cool it's called yellow light and we're doing a yellow light so how appropriate is that little simple I like rounded things so it will be a simple little yellow ball of light and we're going to outline it in black and put a little pacifier on top and please let me knows r what would the pacifier be called where the light bulb is screwed in and the pacifier is there, you can also add glitter paint, you can make more than one type of lantern, it's ready for you, what type of light do you want to put in there?
Now I'm going to go in and I'm literally moving a little bit into a couple of green vines and they might not look like vines right now, but once we add some flowers it does. actually in the end they look like some cute little vines that are growing around t he builds bricks naturally and just accentuates everything like i said this is all optional but the best parts of the fairy house are in the details, that's when you make it yours and that's where you decide what you want, do you want a small tree? you want little head is you want a lot of grass you want a butterfly you even want flowers maybe it's not completely up to you but I'm going to add flowers and I'm going to add grass so here I am adding just little wisps you just have to brush the same fine brush I've been using you don't want to use a thick brush for the grass because then it just looks like big blobs blobs of green and no one knows what that is so it looks more like grass if you just move the brush up starting from the bottom and i'm adding two different shades of green I apologize for that notification a darker green and a lighter green I took it just makes it look better I guess it gives the grass some definition I'm going to let the grass dry now I'm going to go in with a little bit of white and I'm literally going to put some simple flowers around the brick using a nail dotting tool and a toothpick two of my favorite things to p For splashing you can be creative and find things around your house that you can use to dot knitting needles they work amazing pencils erasers toothpicks knitting needles pens all sorts of things toothpicks of course they are my favorite bobby pins depending on the size of the dots work really well too so just get creative so I'm making simple white four petal flowers very very simple because we'll add to them later and they won't be so simple anymore.
Now back to the lid, I'm using a sponge. Martha Stewart sponges painting advisers I think they're called you don't want a lot of paint there you want it to look washed out so let's make it faded to see how you can see through that a little bit. not perfectly blobbed there in a perfect spot i want to be able to see through it a bit so it looks a bit washed out and for me that's how i wanted to do it but if you want to paint them with a brush do whatever you want this is just to show you what i like now that it is dry i am going to use some more nail glitter that has a purple tint this is not ground shale powder i bought it from the same place i got the gold that is on amazon and i literally rubbed it on the part that's a little bit lighter because we're going to once again accentuate the curve of the cap there and it makes that curve stand out even more, it looks just beautiful, it's all optional. you don't have to do that now, here's a little trick if you're having trouble with your glitter moving when you seal it with resin or seal it with a spray, sometimes the glitter will move and it's not where you wanted and instead of that just accenting the boards and the door, it looks like the whole do or is shiny so what I'm going to do is I'm going to apply a light coat of Mod Podge and keep it in the direction of the gloss.
I don't want to move it through the door. I'm going to move it up and down like I did with the glitter, same with the top of the cap. I'm just brushing it over where the glitter is and I'm not going to brush it all over the top of the cap. because then the glitter will eat up the whole top of the lid so just put it where the glitter is let it dry completely before you resin because if there's any moisture under that resin there will be bubbles and blemishes that aren't going to be happy at the end it's all dry now you can tell it's still shiny Mod Podge there but it hasn't been rezoned yet and here's the second one it's also waiting for resin that's nice that's nice I love I like the blue doors I like the window box with the flowers now here you will see it bright has beenrezoned all the glitter stayed in place all the glitter stands out just as much as it would if you didn't use Mod Podge there it looks beautiful I'll let them dry and then add a finishing touch you'll see everything you need to make them in the description no forget it in my fairy world there is glitter there is gold and there are flowers with crystals this is how mine are now the lighting is not the best but the crystals are in the flowers each flower has its own crystal that is optional you don't have to do it you can dot your flowers any colors you want but I like crystals I like sparkles and sparkles and you can tell that from all my tutorials guys I love you guys thank you so much for being a part of this with me and I will continue painting.
Why do you keep painting me and I love you bye bye
