Now I'm going to use regular acrylic paint. I'm smearing the base coat paint on by hand just to stay true. to the fact that you really

only

need like four different things for

tool

s, so if you don't have the brush, just use your hand, no big deal, okay, you want to make sure your base coat is nice and dry before you continue.

I'm going to demonstrate today's project

using

regular Americana deco art acrylic paint, so any acrylic paint you have on hand should work perfectly fine. You want to look for household items that are flat and round, so I'm addicted to tin sticks. I have tons of tin sticks. here I'm going to use the top of a

toothpick

for my center point and then I'm going to use the flat end of a

pencil

eraser, so you can use the pointy end of a

pencil

or a

toothpick

to get a nice new eraser. the really small dots and then when it comes to the cotton swabs, you want to have the kind that has the paper stick, not the plastic stick, and on one end you remove all the cotton and the paper stick will be another size and in the other.

On the other end, you leave the cotton and you smear on some paint and you just want to smear it on and push down the SiC and then you're going to let it harden and it basically becomes a stippling

tool

, so we're starting with titanium white and the top of the stick. Now I'm going to dip the top of the toothpick into the paint. If you want it to be completely covered, you don't want it to go up the sides, but yes. Completely cover the end of the stick, you know, this will be an off-center design that Allah and I designed, so place the dot on the side of the stone right where you want it and then just wipe your lip

balm

off with a damp cloth. towel for the first ring we will use red and this particular paint is called red alert and I will apply it with a toothpick so that there are very small dots.

You will place your points as close as possible. you can go to the center point without touching it so you can start at any point and then dot as many as you can around that center and I just reuse my toothpick over and over again to clean it up the second ring goes It will be made with the color called royal fuchsia and I'm

using

the end of the cotton swab, so I'm going to go ahead and dip it in paint and do my first dot, redo Pitt in paint and then do a point down. underneath it and then a dot to one side and then another dot to the other side, like a cross and then I just looked and made a dot right between each of them and then I was able to squeeze two dots to the right. between each one of them and if you think it's too tight for your preferences, just go ahead and put one in that's perfectly fine and if they touch a little nice, it's no big deal, no one will notice, we're not machines.

This is art talking about not being perfect. I mess up a little here with the colors, but you can watch to the end to see how I fix it. This color is called golden yellow and I'm using a cotton swab and you know. tool we made. I'm going to use the larger end of the cotton swab here and you want to push it down, you know, the first two points and get a nice flat spot on the end and that will help you be you. Know the even point every time, just move it back and forth each time to do what you need.
We are going to do a very similar process here. I'm going to do a dot up, down, left, right and then a dot right between each of them, like before, but this time I'm just going to put a dot between each of them and it fits perfectly and I'm going to use the same wet towel and just a pat. If it's clean like that, we can reuse it in the next color that I'm using, it's called bright orange and I'm going to use the pencil eraser and this time we're going to move from the previous row, right in the middle of where the previous row of dots was, you go Place an orange dot all around so that there are a total of 16 dots on the ring.
Now to fill some of the space, I'm going to add a very small dot of the same color. right at the top and bottom between each of the dots around the ring, the next color is called holiday green and again I'm going to use the pencil eraser and offset from the previous row, just above where the little dots are. : Place the green dot and then around these I'm going to add some details and it looks like lace, it's very pretty. You start at the center of the outer edge of the green dot circle and will dot once. and then continuously down to the base of one side, then you read the stick in some white paint and then you read the first initial dot and then you dot to the base of the other side and I mean These are like little bridges, the next one color is called Calypso blue and right between the two small bridges they are going to place a dot of Calypso blue around it like we have been doing and in a moment this is the last one. row where it will go around the design it will get to where you can just fall off the edges there I'm going to place two dots with the end of the cotton swab right between each of the larger blue dots around and then for the next row which is called pizazz purple and we're going to place a dot right between the larger blue dots, so just above the small dots there and then I'm going to take the cotton swab end of the tool that we made and placing a dot right between each of the larger dots. big ones all the way around and then here I'm going to do the same thing making those same little white lace jumpers and you really want to hug them. the curve of the dot so keep it close to it if you can or as close as you can and then when you make a mistake you just use a little damp cotton swab and roll the paint up and out and you're done. and just read, don't worry.
I'm going to fill in some of the areas here. I'm using white and I'm going to place dots like I did with the orange dro. I'm just going to make white dots between the yellow dots. I go back to the pencil eraser and I add a little bit of red, I come back with that red alert, so I put a dot right above each of the little purple dots and then I'll fill it with an extra dot and then I'll fill it even more with some dots small ones, it's how you really want to do it, if you don't have a lot of space where you feel a little uncomfortable, then just skip this part or any of the parts, make it your own however you want to make it.
It's going to be beautiful, I guarantee it in the next row coming back with the hardened cotton swab and I'm going to do my best to keep a good shape, you know, the semicircle here there's no guide, so we're just watching it, but placing it. Back with the pink row and placing a dot right next to the red dots all the way down and then following with an offset yellow dot, the same tool I cleaned it, my apologies if you hear snoring, that's my chihuahua dog. He's down there his name is Pablo and he snores and he's always with me in the studio he never leaves my side but he snores pretty loud hearing well he comes back with the pencil eraser for a little orange I just start somewhere in the middle and I put a point up to where points can no longer be put on either side.
I'm using a kneaded eraser to hold it down because you know I'm going to go down a little bit below the side of the stone, but not too much. very low, you could just stop the top, but I wanted it to wrap around a little bit. Here I'm going with the swab end of the cotton swab and I'm placing a dot down in the indentation of the you know, the previous one. reel and then I'm going to put a dot right between each of those so there's a lot of little dots there and they're kind of staggered and I thought that was cute and then come back with the blue so just repeating the color scheme here as a rainbow like ROYGBIV red orange yellow green blue indigo violet just added a little bit of pink and added some weight and then I'm going to use the white and put a dot right between each of the little gaps in the yellow row they just fill enough space and I like it Adding a little touch of white here and there every other ring or so, one way or another, just breaks it up and gives it a place from the eye to rest. and again look I just left the mistake so you can see you know we all make mistakes you can just clean them up no big deal put two dots between each of the blue dots and then add the row of purple and So I think I can put a couple of red dots on the end and that's it.
Now I wanted to go back and correct my mistake. It's really pretty this way, but at the end I realized I was like, wait a second. I think this is supposed to be orange, the next route is supposed to be yellow and that was my intention so I change it. Just walk over them because they're already dry, no big deal if something like this happens. for you and you don't have time to take them off or you can't mess everything up, just wait until it dries and then go over it, it's really no big deal and I think this seems like a lot. you better see it all done because it's kind of like there's something about it you know the sequence of a rainbow color you know think it just works it works well to look at it's nice so it already looks better I'm going to go ahead and touch that one up second row of orange and yellow and I also went ahead and touched up little tiny spots that were in the middle, it doesn't look much better, you want to make sure your paint job is really good and dry it before you apply any kind of topcoat to it, but here is the final product.
