painting

and you still have your tools and this one will be great for you too. If you didn't see the first one, we'll quickly go over a couple. Some of the tools we're going to use today are things you can find at home, so we have a pencil that we just put a thumbtack on.

We also have another pencil that has a nail head, just your photo of a nail head with the flat part. At the end we also have a toothpick and we have a paintbrush that we will use the end of. We'll also be using the brush side today, so those are the tools you'll be using to date. and we, you can choose your stone, what we're really going to do. I guess I could show you what we're going to do today. We're going to create this cute little

ladybug

, so what you can do is choose your color so you're just black and white. and then you will also have to choose two colors that will be your body, so I have used this one red and white and I will do the one that I am going to show you today. pink and yellow Gavin is making a pink and purple

ladybug

and then you also need a color for your eye colors so once you've put all that together come back and let's do this together okay so here we are.

More Interesting Facts About,

togetherathome ladybug rock painting...

Ready to paint our stones, one more tool you actually need is a colored pencil. If you have a crayon that is amazing, most families or homes that have children will have crayons. We will use both ends. crayon pencil, so make sure you have the crayon pencil that they let the crayon here edge here or on the side of the crayon. What it's going to do is we want to have a flat edge here, so what we've done is just rub. We run it along the paper until we create a flat edge at that point and that's what we're going to use as well, so the first thing we're going to do is paint our stone the color that we want to be our main color for this. one is red, so we're going to paint it with our background colors here, so you can grab your brush and we're going to paint it all over.

You can leave most of the background because we're going to paint it black, but you can go. Almost up to near the edge of the bottom and all the way around, you may need to apply several coats. Make sure you have a hair dryer handy and nearby because they are great for drying paint, just make sure you don't have it on. a hot setting because it can bubble up and ruin the paint so you just want to have a low setting with the hair dryer on and that will be great for drying the paint quickly okay so Gavin has painted it's

rock

purple and I have my rose.

So our next step now is to take a little bit smaller brush, so I have just a moment that gives us a little bit more precision, perfect and we're going to take our black, so you're going to choose which side you're on. The head will be on for your ladybug and you're just going to take some black paint and paint on that top of your ladybug here a little curve, which you're also going to do right now now that you can. Pick up your stone because it's dry, you're going to paint the bottom and paint this whole part black as well and then you can use your hair dryer or whatever you're using to dry it and then come back, okay?
Once you've done all that black part, you're going to take the toothpick and the black paint again and draw the line in the middle of your ladybug. Okay, so we're going to do the whites of our eyes here now so we can let it dry when we do the dots so we can put the colors in, so what we're going to use is our pencil with the thumbtack at the end if you've found any other tool to wear. that creates a dot, just make sure it's a little bit bigger than your pencil crayon size because the pencil crayon size is what we're going to use to create the color in the eyes, so we're just going to dip into our white here and I'm just going to put two big dots on that black part that we just painted.
I'm pretty close, we want this cute little bug to have those little googly eyes, kind of like a job, dad, okay, so the next part we're going to do while we're letting our little white eyes dry and we're going to make the base. of our dots, so we really want these dots, the black dots, to appear on our insect, so what we're going to do is choose. a color I've used white on this little red ladybug, but I'm going to use yellow, Gavin, well, what color are you using, how many pink roses, so this will basically be the outline that's underneath the black dots. that black really stands out on your ladybug, so I'm using yellow.
What I'm going to do here is use the tip of my colored pencil, this is what I'm going to use for my big dot, so I'm going to make three big dots on each side of the wings and Gavin is going to use this pink one and his pencil Graham to do the same thing, so when you use the driving tool you don't want to submerge the entire dowel into you. you just need to dip so that the end of the dowel has paint on it, otherwise you won't get a nice clean spot and you won't have to touch the down or stone with the dowel, you just want it bad enough. so you're transferring the paint to your stone and that's what's going to give you a nice clean spot.
Hey, we've got our six big yellow dots here and now what we're going to do is take Design our tool that has the nail head and we're going to take the same color that we were doing and we're just going to add some smaller dots around their little deaths, yeah, okay, now we have all our little yellow dots. here what we're going to do is we're just going to blow dry this and make sure it's really dry before we do our second set or a second color and a second layer of dots okay so next thing we're going to do our dots are all dry here we're going to take our toothpick and our target and what we're going to do is dive into our target, hold your stone here and what you're going to do is put a point right where you meet those lines that align your black line with the part black of your head and then you're going to dip back in and you're going to put another stitch on that side to keep the size and You're going to make one more on that side of the same size and then on this side of the first stitch that you made, you're going to make two stitches again.
They're the same sides, so you should have five little dots there. Now you're going to dip again. and you're going to put dots, but this time we're not going to keep dipping, we're just going to keep dotting, so, dot, dot, dot, and you'll see your dots get smaller and smaller and this is what we want, we want to see. The falling stitches go on each side and you're going to do it again on this side too, so you're going to dip once and dot and then you're going to use your toothpick and it's okay if it doesn't go. until you get to your side, you just want it to fade on each side, okay, so once you've done that, as you can see, we're going to add the color for our eyes so they dry as well while we're on. continue with the other part of ours, so mine is blueish turquoise, colors from years ago, mine is like a galaxy, it's really cool, okay, so we're going to take the tip of our colored pencil and we're going to dip it into our eye color, okay, Mulla. and we'll just place it directly on our white dots there if it's creating too big a circle compared to what your white is, you can gently touch it with your peg just enough so that you can see that it's creating that dot and it's not pushing down on it. enough to create a larger circle and then cover the white.
You just want them to be pretty big but have a lot of white showing in your eyes, so you can take a hair dryer to them just to let them dry a little bit here and then we'll continue with our black, okay, so all of our things are dry and now we're going to take our black I'm going to take our colored pencil and we're going to use the end of the pencil again and we're going to use our black. Then, what are we going to do? Because we use the same size on our largest points with the base color.
We're just going to Touch these very lightly and keep an eye on them so that you only touch them enough that you can create a black dot and still be able to see the yellow or the baby, if I can do this from this side so you can see it's a little bit, so I'm just dotting enough so that I can still see that yellow on all sides like this, yeah there you go so this is for the bigger dots it's very important that your bottom colors are completely dry otherwise you won't be able to get a really good clean circle for your top layer if your bottom layer isn't dry enough yet, okay, and now for our little ones. here that when we use the flat edge of our nail we're going to use the pointy part of our colored pencil for the black dots here just because it's a little bit smaller than the dots that we created and we're going to go around and place black dots on top of all of them. them again, making sure that you can still see the bottom color that you created with those dots first, okay, so we have all the black throughout our base, it's all the dots that we created with our base color and now we're going to take our toothpick teeth to black and we're just going to do some little black fill dots in here, just a couple of little spaces.
A fun fact for you, you can tell how old he is. The ladybug is counting the number of spots on its back, so if you ever catch a ladybug and want to count how many spots it has on its back and say how old it is, this is how you do it, thanks. That's fine, once you're happy with that. we're going to finish off the eyes and then your little ladybug creature is going to be finished, so what we're going to do is make sure that your eyes are very dry, so that you get that nice crisp black center and we're going to use the end of our brush because that It's about the size of the black one I want.
You can also estimate how you think if your eyes are a little smaller. You can use a slightly smaller tool. If your eyes are larger, you can use a larger tool. tool, so just go measure it by the eyes that you've created, but of course, you want it smaller than what you have, you have your blue color or whatever eye color you've chosen, so there's that and we. We're going to let them all dry and we've got one last little detail and then these little ones are done, okay, sorry the black is dry, we're going to take our white and our toothpick and we're just going to create those little highlights on the eyes just give it that little finishing time, there you go, so if you want to put these guys outside or something like that, you want them to be weather resistant, just give it a quick varnish if you have some at home or once you can. to go out, you can buy a waterproof varnish, either in spray or just with a brush, if you are anywhere where you get acrylic paints, you can put the brush on.
I think they are a little easier on stones if you also have resin. I don't know if you have a two-part epoxy, which is what I also use on my stones, but if you just want to put a quick little brush on it, you know, three or four dollars if it's the same size. bottle of acrylics and you can find it in the same place and now you just brush it and let it dry and then they are an epiphany ready to go. We hope you had fun creating these cute little creatures with us and we would.
