Cricut Joy tutorial | Make cards inside and out | Great for beginners

hello and welcome to empathy crafty today I would like to do something with my Cricut Joy machine and I would like to show you the Cricut Joy

cards

and how easy they are to cut and draw both the outside and the inside of the card using your Cricut joy machine I just get some

that I just made just to show you some different examples so this is a Happy Father's Day card all designs here in Cricut design space so I haven't designed these cards. These are designs that anyone can go and cut, so Happy Father's Day card.

I'm not sure if you can see the black glitter and it sits there absolutely beautiful and if I zoom in you can see just the details on this card, so this card has It was cut and drawn on the Cricut Joy machine. I'll go through them quickly and then we'll get into the

tutorial

for making the card. This is the first card I made so I caught it when I unboxed my Cricut Joy which I Filmo if you want to see that video and here's another one that also uses the fray with that black politia and a black pen.

This is a silver holographic insert that also comes and the cricket Joe and thick card packs so we have I have the birthday girl and inside I just drew the fancy wish line and then we have a happy birthday and the metallic mark of the year and the birthday boy just a bunch of balloons, that's another design and a Cricut design space and happy birthday. in a different font, yes, so I hope you can see through this that you can

your card complete. Here's to a happy Mother's Day. Then we go back to school with a metallic back to school marker drawn there.

This one here I just wanted to show you, I put a little bit of washi on the insert here just to put a different color so you can use washi or different colored cards or paper or all kinds if you really wanted to color different parts of the design and different colors. Very simply, the back of the insert is the same because you are hiding everything between these two layers so you can decorate them in as many ways as you want. Here I have the silver holographic and I just layered it with some acetate. that comes on one of these bugs here this one comes with different acetates just to make it a little more exciting and then that's the

drawing there too and here's another one that's layered just for a party so I have a red cardboard on in that time I have a start of layers of blue acetate just to tell you a little bit about the cards, there are all a suitable size and the card speaks, so eight to the size is four and a quarter inches by five and a half inches, you can see the sizes . here from the card end of the inserts so the zippers are just a quarter inch smaller in each direction.

You can buy many of these packages that already come with pre-folded cards, inserts, and pre-cut envelopes. There are many of these. different packages, this is the one with the shiny black one, which I love, so you can buy them. These packages are quite affordable. You can also cut your own cardstock to the same size, so I have some American craft textured cardstock here. which I just cut and it's half the size of a US letter, if you think about it, if we have two of these next to each other, then that's a US letter size and you just need to cut it in half and fold it and it's Tan Simple as that, I also went through my scrap paper and cardstock and cut out a bunch of cardstock and paper to use as inserts that appear inside the card, so these are all American Craft Textured Cardstock and a variety of different ones. colors and then I just have a few pieces of various scrapbook papers and other cardstock etc. and I have them all on hand in my craft space so I can grab them and then play with different inserts inside the card, so what?

I mean by that you have the other quest here, so when we make the card I'll show you how to put it together and you'll basically be able to see what it looks like with different colors inside of us, so I find it very useful to have these. all cut to size ready to go you use the Cricut joy-machine to cut out this design and then pretty much with the search you just pop it into these little corners inserted here before you do it you can do what I said you can embellish the and safir there with different colors and patterns etc, layering or just adding different colors so the ends are there, what I'm going to do now is go to a Cricut design space and select a card to cut. and we will draw and make the inside and outside of the card using Cricut Joy just so you can see the process step by step.

Inserting cards and Cricut Joy are easy to do thanks to this Cricut Joy card combo, so it comes. Packaging like this here is one I've used and it has a protective layer on top so I'll just remove it. This is why I have the vinyl here because it's a bit of clear plastic that can be pretty easy to lose so I like to put some type of vinyl on them so I can find them in my weak space. This is the Cricut Joy card mat that powers the Joy machine and this part here is a little bit sticky and then it has a little bit. that stands up here in a pocket, what I'll do is place a card here and see how it all works.

I'm only going to use one of these cards from this pack, this is the a2 size card, so just open it up and slide the back under the clear part at the top here, you can see when you do it there it matches these lines here, which are four and a quarter inches by five and a half inches, so just make sure it's nice and even along the edge and then basically just push it down and so the card will stick Hit the mat to find a design that can't fit into the Cricut design space and these are the newest projects that have been added to the design. space, you can see that there are some cards there, so you can scroll down for new projects or you can go to all categories and search for cards or you can use search to put, for example, a search card.

I'm just going to choose one. card randomly here, in fact, I could use this one here, it's your birthday and I want it to be, you can see it on the card on the mat, so we continue and I need to connect to my Joy machine. I have an insert the card that you see here insert the card and I need to accommodate the fine point blade that's in the machine and then I just take the card and I insert it into these guides here the machines just making sure there's enough material on the mat to use and then here we just press the go button ah, okay, it's done cutting, so we have to go here and press download to download the mat and that releases the mat from the machine.

It's pretty much the same if you're using a PC to send it to your joy or you're using a tablet or something like that the app looks a little different on each one but it works the same now the card mat is like I don't know if it's almost there You call South weeding, but if you just gently pull it over the card, you can just lift it up and most of the design that you don't want stays there, you can see the little installed bits that have come out, so it can be nice to just grab them. a small weeding tool, for example, just to get out these extra little bits that haven't weeded themselves.

I just came to grab one of these inserts just to show you the design so we have your birthday year and we can play. around with different and outfits as I see it so you can have different colors, we could put different washes under each balloon to make all the balloons different colors or different colors of cardstock or paper. What I mean by that is that you just stick. washi or card under the corresponding balloon. I just randomly grabbed some washi that I had in my hand and said super neon orange, actually just to show you what I mean, so you can put some paper, for example, under the section where there's a balloon. sample or you could do something like this.

I have a lot of washi, so I find a good way to use my washi, but if you have quite transparent washi, you have to be careful not to overlap them because it would change the color in the middle. Here, if we put it back, I made it a little long, as you can see, it has a little bit of thread in orange color, but you can see that there is an orange balloon and you can do the same with other balloons or other letters. Now I'd like to show you how to draw inside the card using your Cricut joy so we get the card map back and just use a scraper to remove all these parts that I don't like once.

I like the big scraper because it's just a In a couple of days we got rid of everything and then to make the inside of the card you just fold the card so the inside is up here and then slide it on the car map like he did before. aligning everything along the edge and making sure it's on these lines as best as I can and then just pushing it down and that's what we'll load into Cricket Joy once we've decided what to write here. just press the finish button and come back and I want to go to the canvas to make the inside of the card.

I just want to go to the shapes and insert a square and I want to edit the size of the square to be the size of the insert that goes on the card, so I want to edit it to have a width of four inches and a height. I need to unlock it to turn it into a rectangle. If you didn't see, I pressed the lock button to unlock it so I can turn it into a rectangle and I want to make this 5.25, so 5 and 1/4 inches and I'm just going to change the color to a little bit lighter color so it's the insert the card and now I want to insert the text. of happy birthday so I want to go to you can go to text and select a font and write happy birthday or you can go to images and find an image that has already been created that says happy birthday so if we are going to search and drill draw, draw, draw birthdays and look for that.

I could have put happy birthday, which would filter through some of these. More. We can see here. There are many different options that we could put inside the card. You can see some of the examples here. I have used it on other cards. I actually quite like big birthday wishes, so I'm going to insert them, if you remember, the card is a horizontal card, so it is cut to read and held up this way, so we need to make sure it writes on the card in the same direction if we take our big birthday wishes, we want to rotate the big birthday wishes so they are straight up and down and you can change their size.

We could make it a little bigger because it makes

great

birthday wishes. we have that there now to align it directly in the center if we select our two layers and we go to edit and we can align so we can align in the middle and we can align to the center and that puts the text in the middle going and each direction on the card, like this that we have great birthday wishes there, now we want to select the text and make sure it's drawn, so this is in the Edit menu, we just make sure it says draw and you can select the exact direction. pin that you're going to use, the default is a midnight 0.4 millimeter fine point pen, which I think is the pen that comes in where it actually says black, so maybe it's this, this is the pen that comes in with the Cricut binding machine so you can do that or the only other pins I have are these metal markers so I might use one of those.

I could use gold, so I'm going to go to the marker and say gold, so there we have ours and the next thing we want to do is just stitch these layers together and then we want to do it, so we'll do it on a mix of cards. You can see the design there and the reason I put the rectangle in and attached it is so it's in exactly the right place. place it on the card, so by making the rectangle the size that the joy will cut or draw on it, that will work fine, so we want to press continue will connect to the joy, bring it here and just load the card. select insert cardstock and it says load gold metallic piano to do this just open the clamp here and remove the sheet and then with the pen just place it here and close the clamp and then just push the card mat a little bit to load it and now we press the Go button, okay and now it asks you to load the sheet because, if you remember,we designed a rectangle to cut around the outside just so we could place the text in the correct position, so we don't want to load the sheet we just want to unload the mat, we are not using the cut function on the inside of the card, open the sheet back so you don't lose it and here we have what's Russian, so it's written great birthday wishes in the center of the card right there, then just pick up that card and take it out.

I'll just click on it and select edit to see the size about three inches tall, so that sounds good. I see that cut, so I just want to go there and say instead of cutting, please draw and I'm going to draw with my gold marker and then I'm going to press the mark there and then I want to do it. I could have done the same thing by adding the rectangle here to make sure they're in the right place, but I'm just going to move them so that if I click on the image I can rotate it because I need it to go in horizontally and I can see my cardboard goes down to five and fourth and I'm thinking about two balloons over here, so I'll put them maybe over the year and I want to press continue, so I need to connect. my joy and I'm just going to say insert cardstock and it tells me to load my gold pants so once again with the gold pin just put it in and close the clamp and then load the mat and now I went to press go.

Okay, and those are the balloons drawn, so I just listened to the download and here you can see what's strong with the gold metallic pen.
