Jun 06, 2021
What's up YouTube? Welcome to car costing technology. Today I will share with you five interesting

things

about the Corvette Stingray c7 that you may not have

know

n yet. If you have a Corvette c7, you've probably already come across most of these on this list. but you

know

, I think you'll still find the video very informative. I put together this video because I feel like most of the reviews out there don't emphasize these features or cover them in detail and I think it's really worth sharing. and making sure that everyone who just bought a Corvette Stingray and we're getting ready to buy one knows some of these interesting

things

that, again, aren't discussed or analyzed in depth, so I think you'll really enjoy it.
5 things you didn t know about the c7 corvette stingray
Guys, I know I found the videos more interesting, so the first thing I want to discuss is the active fuel management system. This is the first Corvette that can run on four cylinders since production, so what that means is that it sounds like this. It's kind of terrible, I know, but it's actually a really innovative design and basically, obviously, it has a 6.2-liter V8 in the Corvette Stingray and it actually has the ability to switch to four cylinders while you're driving down the highway. you have an automatic this can happen in all modes when you don't need power or excuse me in all driving modes meaning if you have a manual it only happens in Eco mode and basically what this does is again if you're Just cruising at highway speeds, not really on the throttle, will shift to four cylinders for economy.

More Interesting Facts About,

5 things you didn t know about the c7 corvette stingray...

Yes, as soon as you use the accelerator or start to step on the accelerator again, it will go back up to the V8, so it never will. You find yourself slow or stuck in four-cylinder mode, it happens without a problem. I've never noticed it happening, but what this allows is for the car to really excel, especially in on-road efficiency, you can see it even with a really big V8 when compared. Compared to some comparable sports cars or some of its competitors with much smaller engines, it actually has better highway fuel economy, so I think it's really impressive that you can say that compared to a competing turbocharged four-cylinder engine. that gets worse. highway fuel economy so you know the naturally aspirated 6.2 liter v8 engine so I think that's an amazing feature and again it happens so seamlessly that you don't even realize it's happening and there are ways to prevent it from engaging if you just stay on the accelerator, but I don't know if you can always keep the accelerator applied or if you have the manual transmission, if you never go into Eco mode you will never see this feature, so for those of you who think That's a bad thing again, there are ways around it.

Personally, I think it's very innovative and I think it's cool, you know why not save gas, especially when you're driving on the highway without noticing any difference in performance? So I thought that's really amazing. The next thing I want to discuss is the valet mode on this car - this is a really cool feature that gives you peace of mind if you have to let a valet take your car or even let a friend move your car or lend it to you. Some of you have probably seen the screen that goes up and down. or at least the infotainment system retracts and actually gives you a storage cubby behind it, which is really unique in itself, but there are more cool features on this screen, if you go into settings you can turn on valet mode and what valet mode.

What it does is provide the option to set a pin or a code. Once your code is set, you can lock this screen from opening, as well as your glove box, if you have some personal items in there that you don't want valet to have or if you don't want someone touching your car, you can lock it and they can't get in until they can enter the code. I think that in itself is great, another thing I wanted to discuss, although many of you may not realize if you have the performance data recorder, which unfortunately my car does not have.
You can actually turn it on fine in cars in valet mode, so it not only locks your storage so they can't touch your personal items, but it also records exactly. what's happening to the car, you know how far it's going, the GPS location of the car, the speed, that way you know you can not only stop your personal belongings from being touched, but you can see exactly. how they handled your car while moving it is pretty much a bad valet driver's worst nightmare because this will completely protect the car and give the driver a lot of peace of mind so I think it's a really awesome feature and again it's very useful if you give it valet your car frequently or even if you are in a situation where you have to let a friend or family member use it and you are not as comfortable with them messing with your belongings or abusing it. the car without your knowledge, so having the performance data recorder would be really cool.
I said unfortunately mine doesn't have it, but if you do, be sure to use that feature if you ever park your car in a valley. The next thing I want to go over is the secret entrance to the car, it's not really a secret, basically with the Corvette c6, this is where it all started, there are no door handles or mechanical handles, at least on the outside of the car, it's a electronic platform, so you made it to the top. the license plate is a keyhole in the core of the c7 but they changed the design and actually put the physical key inside your key fob so make sure you never lock your key fob in the car but once you took this key out In fact, you can place it in the keyhole above the license plate.
When you do, you can unlock the trunk hatch. This will activate the alarm if the battery is not completely depleted, so keep that in mind, but once you do. Again, when the boot hatch opens into the boot, it's somewhat discreet. You've probably noticed this before if you have a c7 Corvette, but there is a little lever or handle that you can pull when you pull that will actually open the door now. Again, it's a bit of a strange way to open the door. Hopefully you'll never have to use it unless the battery is dead. I imagine the battery has to be pretty dead for even the door handles to work, but it's just a nice little feature.
They've built it in there as a security measure to ensure that you have a means of getting into the car in case the battery is dead, and also, for most car thieves, they will never know that this car doesn't. They have no physical door handles which they couldn't operate without having to check the trunk. The next thing I want to cover is the lack of a gas cap or spare tire, these are just common items that you would find on most cars and I thought it was interesting that on the Corvette c7 there is no gas cap, it has this type of valve opening into which the fuel pump nozzle simply slides.
Now I know a lot of newer cars are going to use this design, so that may not be the case. It's completely uncommon, but again, this is the first time this has happened on a Corvette, so I think it's a pretty cool feature. I mean, I find it much more convenient than having to remove the cover and try to rip it off somewhere as far away as possible. the spare tire goes on Corvettes for a long time after you've had spare tires, they use the run-flat system so you know if you ever get a flat or damage your tire obviously it's very important to get somewhere so you can change your tire. as quickly as possible, but if you're looking in the trunk for a spare, it won't be there, so keep that in mind guys, so the next thing I want to go over is to cover the Stingray name now, those of you who have been The enthusiasts from Corvette have known for a long time that the c7 is not the original Corvette Stingray, it is actually the c2 between 63 and 67 was the original Corvette Stingray, ironically, the original Corvette Stingray, can cost much more than the more current Corvette Stingray c7 Yes You're looking at, say, a 67 427 Corvette Stingray.
These cost up to $200,000, so to me it's really cool that they brought back the Corvette Stingray name. I love that name. I think it represents. You know, there's a lot of history. There's a lot of prestige around that name and I think it commands a lot of respect from Corvette enthusiasts, so I'm really glad they gave me the name back. It's exciting to be able to own one, hopefully one day it'll be as valuable as the original Stingrays, so I think it's an interesting part of the heritage or history of this car. If you

didn

't know the original Corvette Stingray, definitely look it up as one of my favorite Corvettes from the beginning, but anyway.
