5 Things That You Should NEVER do to Your CORVETTE!

Jun 06, 2021
What's up YouTube? Welcome to the cost and technology of automobiles. Today we will discuss five

things

you

should

never

do in a Corvette. Now all of these elements will be applicable to the Corvette Stingray c7, as we will use my cars as an example, but. most of these will be relevant to other generations as well as the c5 and c6

corvette

, so keep in mind that i'm putting this list together primarily to help those of you who are thinking about buying

your

first

corvette

or maybe just bought his first Corvette. Hopefully this will help you avoid some headaches and save you some time in the future if you own a Corvette.

I hope you haven't had to learn any of this firsthand or the hard way, but let's go ahead and jump into the list, guys. So to get the latch, the roof can be a big problem on a Corvette. Now, for those of you who have driven a Corvette or owned one, we know that most models have a removable roof, which is a really great feature that I even boasted about. This feature is in the top five

things

I love about this car video and it can be a lot of fun to take off the top and go for a ride, but many people, especially on the Corvette forums, have reported forgetting to close the roof with sure when they put it back. so when you put it back on it may sit flush against the weather stripping and look like it's fixed in position, but you need to make sure you close the latches all the way, otherwise it won't actually be fully fixed to the car, which can What happens is that while driving in the car, if the roof is not closed, the wind can catch the lip and tear it off, flow it and throw it into the air.

More Interesting Facts About,

5 things that you should never do to your corvette...

Now a lot of people have said that when this happens, you can fly very high in the sky and crash on the road, which can obviously damage the roof and obviously could hurt someone behind you or damage

your

car, and you know that, besides , the roof itself is expensive, this could cause a lot of damage and will be a big headache, so make sure you leave it to the roof guys. The next thing I want to talk about is leaving your key fob in the trunk. This is a big discussion on a lot of Corvette forms, apparently a lot of guys are taking their key chain and putting it on, say, a gym bag, golf bag, backpack, something like that and leaving it in the car.
5 things that you should never do to your corvette
Personally, I would

never

do this. No, I wouldn't feel comfortable leaving the remote in the car, but if for some reason you wanted to do this, keep in mind that the way these key fobs work with the passive locking system, it will most likely be left outside the car as the key fob will normally not be detected in the trunk and could also lock even if it does. detect the remote control now with my car. I actually tried this and I was still able to get into the car somehow, the car was still able to detect the remote, but I recommend that if you wanted to leave your dad in the trunk to disable the remote. passive locking system temporarily by opening the door and holding the unlock button for about four seconds, I still wouldn't recommend leaving the remote in the car, but at least that will give you peace of mind knowing that the passive locking system is not working. on so the next thing I want to talk about is using a gas can to add fuel to the car now because this is mainly for the Corvette c7 but because of the capitalist refueling system there is no cap traditional gasoline that can be removed. to stick the nozzle into the tank, it actually has these type of valve type covers, there are two doors so to speak that protect the tank and the first one is mainly just for appearances, the main seal comes from the second latch, but what? what can happen if?
5 things that you should never do to your corvette
If you are trying to use a traditional gas can or even let's say a fuel additive bottle, if you put it in there you may not be able to reach the tank through both openings now if you were to start pouring gasoline or a fuel additive in before that you can get through the second door, it would actually spill all over the fender, we're going all over the tires, you know, and it would basically cause a lot of damage to the cars, so obviously, if you want to add a little bit of fuel to the car or a fuel additive To fuel the car with a can and without using a traditional gas nozzle at a gas station, you have to use the funnel that comes with the Corvette, so this funnel, as fun as it sounds, really allows you to get through both gates or the valve so to speak and it gets to the tank so make sure you use it if you want to add some fuel or add a fuel additive to your Corvette c7 so next we're going to talk.
It's about bringing a large drink to drive. This is something that is not special for the Corvette c7. Many Corvette owners have complained about this for a while now, but the cupholders aren't that great, you know, they're pretty shallow. There are only two, they are a little small now for me personally, no big deal. I don't carry drinks with me very often, but I can imagine it based on how shallow they are and how loosely the drink fits in them. which could cause a pretty big mess, a lot of guys on Corvette forums complain about spilled coffee on themselves, spilled sodas on themselves, so be sure if you're going for a spin, especially if you're going to drive fast. that you don't bring a big drink or if you're going to make sure you have one hand on it most of the time because you could end up cleaning up a pretty big mess, you can see even with this water bottle how it just sits very very loose in there, obviously having a lid wouldn't be a big deal if it fell off, but you know you can see where it creates a pretty big mess if you drink a drink that doesn't have something in it.
It has a sealable type of lid, so make sure you keep an eye out for that, guys, be careful. I wouldn't want anyone to damage their interior or get burned by hot coffee, so keep that in mind, so the next thing we'll talk about is driving. over everyday obstacles at normal speeds now this sounds a little strange, but in a Corvette with them as low as they are, you really have to watch out for things you wouldn't normally think twice about, like curbs, speed bumps, potholes, things of that nature . I can really scratch your car, as you can see here.
I scraped it in my driveway now, luckily that's just the front air dam, it wouldn't do much damage to the car, but you know, like I said, everyday obstacles in the parking lot. There are a lot of them on the road, you know you don't think twice about it in a standard car or truck, but when you're in a Corvette you really have to be careful and make sure you don't hit them too fast because you could damage them. the front end too with very low profile tires and stiff sidewalls, you could definitely not only shake yourself and the whole car, but you could also damage your suspension wheels by hitting the bumps too hard, so you

should

Make sure you slow down. go down a little and hit those bumps properly, even if it's not fun, you know the car is worth protecting, so now that we've talked, you know some things you should never do in a Corvette, negative things, let's move on. to more positive talk, so I want to share more photos of subscribers' cars with you.
