Me. Painting on Things.

Apr 30, 2024
Hi it's me, I don't even know how to explain what I'm doing in this video because honestly I don't even know what I'm doing in this video so I'm just going to paint whatever I feel like.

painting

today I want to paint everything that I don't know is worth it, all I know is that I have a creative energy right now that cannot be tamed I'm here I'm there I'm over there I'm up here I'm down here, yes, I hate myself, concentrate, I can't, I'm sorry, maybe I should stop drinking the cold beer. I have a lot of

things

spread out that need to be painted, of course, when I say spread out, I mean They're all in their proper places, put away and organized, so I'll just go and collect a bunch of options and then pick something to paint when it calls me.

I found quite a few

things

that I have a little bit of everything here we have bags, outlet, covers, shoes, seashells and stones, Russian nesting dolls, decorative squishies, I even took out my sketchbook just in case I want to be really normal, that's so weird How am I going to choose? I have ideas for all of this, I'm not going to set any rules for this video, I'm not going to say how many things I'm going to paint because I'm only going to paint while I have time this week and that'll be the video. If I paint one thing, it's fine.

More Interesting Facts About,

me painting on things...

If I paint everything that's great. That's not going to happen. I will use all the time I have doing whatever I do and as many of those things as I can. the laziest, most useless intro I've ever filmed, yes it is, so I'll stop you right there before you do anything else that makes you look like a complete nutcase. Finally I sat down to paint and decided that this was calling me. In my opinion, it is a very simple little pencil case. I bought a bunch of these a long time ago and have been working on

painting

on all of them for years.

Now I have a bit of a soft spot for pencil cases in general. or I may not be hoarding them, but this isn't about my old designs, okay, it's about what's to come, so let me get ready, bring my custom paint colors. The first design choice I need to make is the background color, just choose one of these to put on. there, uh, let's see, watermelon red, chocolate brown, mint green, forest green, baby blue, light pink, tan, two-tone pink, speckled blue, hot pink, um, orange and lavender, which is what I'm going to choose , thank God, I paint that and while I do that.

You know, my idea is to just form together in my little head, although I said this is not about my old designs. I kept thinking about my old design, this one in particular, there's something about it that I really like and want to take. and use it now that I have a good foundation to work from. I'm going to start sketching my idea. I decided I want to paint a raccoon head here. What does a raccoon's head have to do with a unicorn? Well, notice he's wearing the unicorn. a flower crown and the flower crown has these little sparkles on it that remind me of a raccoon because you know how raccoons are attracted to shiny objects.
I know this raccoon would never be caught dead with a flower crown. She's too forward, so I give it to you instead. she a gem crown it's not a flower crown it's not a real crown it's a gem crown for the color of the raccoon I'm just admiring that moment I'm creating a light tan color and a deep brown to go with it coming in here we go I realize that raccoons are usually black, gray and white, but I don't know, I wanted to give it a softer look. The only problem is that when we deviate from that very recognizable color scheme it may not end up looking like a raccoon, I just started the face but I was really eager to start painting those gems so I'm doing it for some reason my camera It rocks back and forth during this I was on a tripod it should have been zero movement here I should be afraid normally something as tedious as painting a bunch of little sections on a bunch of little gems would have been something I would have struggled to get over but I actually really enjoyed it even though I started this video like completely crazy, I promise I wasn't drinking anything but cold beer.
I calmed down once I started painting. In fact, I think I had even more focus and more patience than usual. Oh, that's heavy. I was a little worried about how good these gems were. They were going out. I had never painted gems before. I drew them once in connection with another raccoon. I was actually worried that if the edges weren't perfectly precise, they would just look like a bunch of melted gems, but I think I was able to give them enough definition where we avoided that, except for this sky which is horrible. Now I'm just adding some shading to the gems.
I have no idea how to shade a gem. There are so many different planes and they all look in different directions and are reflective and have a little bit of transparency oh so much so I'm just making up crap and hoping you get the picture. I used my paste pen to give the edges a nice shiny shine. oh, they look good, literally, which makes me realize, I think it's fair to guess that the gem crown is not as comfortable as the flower crown, we just won't tell you that beauty is pain, I guess you wouldn't know , OK?
I'll leave you alone for a moment getting back to the raccoon. I'm adding a ton of details of her, including the markings on her face, wow, that scared me. I poured some black paint, a lot of black paint to paint her facial features and her whiskers. because yes raccoons have whiskers anyone who says otherwise is lying don't trust people like that once I sat down and looked at this although it looks more like a Siamese lazy cat so maybe if I add a little snout area it's going to look a little more like a raccoon, I know it looks like I'm making a big mess here and in the meantime while that was drying I was just working on some other areas that still needed help, adding little, die?
What you know, those things. I gave some of my gems a slightly deeper shine. I can finally go back in with my face. I'm not entirely sure the white snout did much, but I'm going to tell myself that. She did it because she needs to look like a raccoon or else my whole concept is in the bathroom. I added my signature to this and the front of the boom looks good now, how about the rear boom painted purple? Stop saying boom and I thought I was done. this, but then when I went to edit this footage, wow, that's mind-blowing, I decided the gems needed a little more depth, so I did it again, man, I really need to learn how to pour smaller amounts of paint, get a little purple and green, oh. the green is almost out, let's see what we have there, so these are just darker versions of the colors that I've already used and I'm just going to go in and add little shadows behind each and every gem and the bag is done.
I love this bag. I recognize that it is not perfect. There are a couple of things that are a little strange. They are not perfectly symmetrical. I don't mind. I love it the way it is. He's a sassy raccoon who loves little sparkles. and it's so incredibly cute I'm so happy with it the next element I decided to paint is a sketchbook page. I know there was a squishy unicorn cake and I and I grabbed the sketchbook. I really had an idea for a painting and I really wanted to do it, okay it doesn't look that great right now but I hope when I'm done it will look great or more realistically I'm just hoping for a piece of art which I don't have.
I don't want to get burned, let those expectations low, what is that hand? So there are a lot of problems with my people's drawing skills, this is something we all already know unfortunately, but I feel like the biggest one is proportion, proportion, so being aware of that was I'm really trying to take my time. to make this look as good as possible. I had a very specific scene I wanted to draw and I created it completely in my imagination, so I had no reference to use and you guys are yelling at me. I tried to use bits of different images like for the hands and body parts, it's like a frankenstein of references and that's the best I can do, oh, that's a very square chin and just yeah, I reinforced it like that.
What I've been doing recently is taking photos directly to check and see if any changes need to be made, I guess because when you draw on a flat surface your perspective is slightly warped, so I think technically you should. be drawing or painting on an easel but I don't use an easel because I don't enjoy torturing myself thanks but no thanks it's time to line normally I use a fine ink liner but today I thought I'd give it my paste I try but wait hello today I'm throwing the most of products at once that I've ever made and I'm really excited to show them all to you, so yeah, where do I start?
There are many things and they are completely complete. new custom designed products. I'm in love with everything here. This is all great for school if you're still in school, but also if your school days are over. They're still things you can use and enjoy no matter what your situation is, there's never a bad time for cute bags and stationery, so we've got a pickle pencil case and also this adorable super roomy donut bag as if You could keep your whole life there. Three different styles of bags here have colorful and crazy lots. of different characters with a colorful front pocket and then we have this design that also has many of my characters on it.
If you want something a little more low-key, we have the Pickle character backpack, this one is just crazy and I think it's so cool, oh oh god, not to mention this amazing sweatshirt I'm wearing, it's embroidered, embroidered, tell me it's not amazing, we have all the pickle things, just be like and there is a stationary box that includes the notebook, bookmarks, pencils, erasers, sticky notes, stickers and a Squishy, the link to the store is in the description, if you want to buy yourself, bundled purchases come with a free pickled dinosaur pin, but that's only for orders within the first 10 days of this release, be sure to check the order page for estimated shipping. times, okay, let's go back to the video now, okay, we're back, so I really really liked using posca for contouring.
I've used micron pens in the past but I've always secretly hated them, the ink dries out and you have to do that too. hold them very vertically so the ink flows for me, they are very annoying to work with and I feel a little insecure because everyone else uses them without problems, so I must be the one doing something wrong, but this paste pen was a lot easier and went over my pencil lines with no problems, the only thing is that it takes longer to dry so you have to be very careful with smudging. You may be wondering what's going on between these girls, what the story is, so let me establish.
Make things clear and explain yourself in a minute right now. We need to focus on erasing all my old pencil lines. Are you concentrating? This is a cleaning experience, get rid of all the unpleasant and messy fights of the past and the only way to get rid of your eraser dust is with a handheld vacuum cleaner, if you have been brushing it on the floor all these years, already Do not do that. I added a bit of line variation to paint this. I'm using a new pack of fancy watercolors. Hallelujah put a bit of a damper on the magic of how the red broke down in the packaging and stuck to all the other colors.
I tried using compressed air to get rid of all that mess. It didn't work. Everyone knows the best way to improve your art is to go out and buy the fanciest art supplies you can lie, but I was getting a little tired of my crusty watercolor set, look at all of these, oh and they're all in little individual paint trays, oh my gosh, I'm not exactly sure what that's like. It's supposed to help me, but it's elegant, I can feel it. The first color I need is a nice brown, since a lot of these looked super dark, it was hard to tell what color they were so I had to try them on.
Oh, exposed, none of them really were. I was searching so I ended up having to mix the color anyway. A fancy new set with tons of colors and the first color I want is nowhere to be found. Okay, I'm okay and I'm definitely already struggling a little here. I'm not too happy with how this looks right now, but I hope to fix it later. I'm moving on to this pastel turquoise color that I've been dying to wear and quickly discovered that they are actually quite opaque. a lot of my outline black, so this means I'll have to redraw a lot of the outline at the end, okay, maybe you're supposed to do the outline at the end, why don't I have any idea how to make art on this moment?
I seriously considered ditching this completely and pretending it never happened, but I decided you know what, let's just keep hanging in there, maybe we can fix it now. I've kept you in the dark and I think it's time to explain what's going on here, so we have three ladies are at some kind of formal event, you know, one of those where you put onfancy dresses and they all show up with a different hair sculpture, yeah one of those I've been to, I like seven of them, I wanted to make each girl a different theme and give them ridiculously exaggerated hairstyles to go with their theme, so on the left we have the ice cream girl and her hair is supposed to look like ice cream, obviously this girl loves buns, she has a giant one. hair bun literally bun made of hair and then there's this girl whose hair is supposed to look like roses.
I feel like her hairstyle is the weakest of the three, but we'll still leave her trying, these two are joking and joking together, laughing, they're still here like and then this girl is standing there like serious guys, not even It's funny, you know, that's always the girl with the rose bows anyway, that's the story, I think I know. where did I get the color scheme from so now I have a very flat boring watercolor layer over this and I'm going to try to make it less bad and this is the point where this became really fun for me except when I knocked on the door . about a bunch of stuff on my table and I also don't know why my camera was like going crazy with flashing lights here, so first it moves on its own, now it's flashing clearly, there's a little creature living inside trying to mess with me, obviously. watch out for the camera creature, uh oh, and that's just me knocking more things over, so back to the art, I love using colored pencils for details, but it can literally be a pain to use them on large areas, so really It works very well for basic painting. colors with watercolor and then just use the colored pencils to add depth and detail, so this ended up being less painting and more drawing.
I don't know what this video is anyway, so I'll allow it, I don't know. Whether you like this video or not, it was very refreshing for me to start without any plans and just paint and draw. I was able to relax a little more than usual. I still ended up spending the same amount of time. This video is like most of the other videos I make, but the experience was a little different. I know my people's drawing skills haven't peaked yet and this may not be the best, although the last time I said something like this I saw a lot. comments like mariah, please stop criticizing your art, you're being too hard on yourself, which is really sweet and I appreciate it, but you know what I can't, I can't if I know I'm not good at something.
I'm probably just saying this because I want to acknowledge that I'm aware of the situation, you can't be good at everything and it's okay to admit that even though I'm aware that this isn't the best, I actually am. I'm really happy with this once I got over some of the hurdles with the watercolor. I had a great time making this for the background. I'm drinking thanks for the urban dictionary ad. By the way, there's a blue oval behind them, which is cool, really? Add a lot, not really, but it makes it look a little more finished I guess, and here it is, I mean, to me, this is good, there's probably a lot of things wrong here and someone who's more skilled is probably looking at it like, oh God, what does he have?
You already did it, but from where I stand I'm really proud of it. I'm happy with the idea. I love their different expressions, their outfits and their hair. You can't wait until your art is perfect to start enjoying it because then I'll never really be happy with this and I'm so glad I did it. I spent quite a bit of time on these two projects and knew it was time to start editing this week, so this is all I had time to do. I hope you enjoyed this random video because I did. Thank you very much for watching and we'll see you next week, bye.
