and the legs and they just turn and the cameras stay still. Yes. That's exactly what we're doing. --It is?! I'm literally on a green screen on a stool and Nico comes over and spins me around. You just match the camera-- Hint-- we match the camera to how fast I'm spinning on the stool Anyway, Spawn, our movie- - --anyway, nephew VFX basically the same. but I think ultimately it's basically exactly the same. --it's basically the same, I don't know. I didn't think it was that bad for a movie that's 22 years old. I think he gets away with it because the art direction is really amazing and crazy.

Yeah. Oh, that's... that's crazy. Dude, like he was disintegrating and everything was fluid and particulate and then there was a skeleton and then he wasn't there at all. Honestly, as a VFX artist, that shot has inspired the way I do action VFX, very deeply. I'm not lying, like every time I like it, someone explodes in a take. I always think about this shot. By the way, with this clip right now. We received many comments requesting it. If you'd like to see a clip, leave a comment below. We read them all, they are a

inspiration. Wait, didn't they do something special with the way they filmed this on set?

Wasn't he wearing a special blue suit? Yes. that was emitting light? So, Dr. Manhattan, you know, emits blue light. The thing is, if you want to do that "fake" thing like you want to be the blue light after the fact, it's a lot of work and it's very hard to make it look real, it's easier to have the real light in the scene. They made him wear an LED suit and he's wrapped in these LEDs. You can see it in that shot where he crushes the tank. Just there. You can see the blue light shining off the guy's lab coat.

Ah, that's true. Yes, good. However, the gloss doesn't feel like a gloss. It's kind of dark. Is if. I think it's too strong on the blue channel. I think that's really the problem, honestly. I think when cameras process color, if you have too strong a blue, it doesn't necessarily register as bright. We associate brightness with the color white. Just like normal lights they have a spectrum where LEDs will simply give you a peak at one wavelength. We are becoming like a peak at the blue wavelength, which, if another material doesn't have something that reflects that specific wavelength it simply won't reflect anything.

Technologically speaking, we finally got to the point where we could put LEDs in a suit for someone to wear, before this point it wasn't even technologically possible. So it was a

great

idea. It's not really a criticism, it's more like a pictorial character in a real life movie, so you can get away with not being one hundred percent real. It's great to see them take a new technological step today, it could be even stronger. In terms of visual impact, that would happen. Yes, these days they have pretty bright LEDs.
