Transforming Abandoned Mineshafts in Minecraft 1.14

May 25, 2021
Abandoned mine shafts are a bit of a pants introduced back in 2011, they certainly look their age don't they? I mean, this is Minecraft 2011 in a nutshell, absolutely no details, no shapes, just a square with wooden boards and some? fence posts, these were 99 of all Minecraft builds at the time, what I want to do in today's video is completely update them and bring them into 2019 by making some new decorations and also adding some redstone, but also keeping the feeling like they are naturally generated Minecraft structures, this might be difficult as a complete side note. I have no idea why that camera was so shaky and then they fired the cameraman, so I would say first thing, we need to do some work on these mine carts first. rails because I mean no, they really seem to go anywhere, they don't have mine carts, so let's fix that in an interesting way.

What I'm thinking is that we have a small minecart circuit with a small system of elements. and what it will do is deposit an item into the mine cart and then I will also remove an item from the mine carts. The mine cart will spin like this and every time it appears it will have a different item inside, if this works I'll be shocked okay because it's so simple it only involves three things so we have a little detector rail on the inside, now let's see what happens here, okay, it actually works, it's so simple, so that's how it was. successful now, I've just been looking around and I can't deal with the construction in this area here, so I think we're going to do some decorative stuff quickly now that will involve essentially ruining the entire area, I'm just going to make it look like the pit an

abandoned

mine instead of just a square hole with some fence posts two hours later and this is what we have now.

More Interesting Facts About,

transforming abandoned mineshafts in minecraft 1 14...

You know I'm not a builder. I don't claim to be a builder in the slightest, I just threw a few blocks around here, but I have to say that I think this is a small improvement, I mean, there's a lot more to see, that's for sure, it definitely feels like a lot more. more complete build and I really like it, I'm secretly quite proud of this, although it's taking quite a while to make, it's a big step forward, seriously, now that we've started adding some Redstone gadgets and stuff, I mean, I think this will go. To be a really special little place now what I want to pretend here is that this mine shaft actually used to be operational, but then some form of chemical or some form of infection started in the mine shaft and now turned everyone workers into zombies.

Obviously these workers would need to have a place to sleep so let's drill into this area here and create some bunk rooms so we have John we have Keith and then we have Sharon Sharon the zombie okay so let's throw in to these boys and girls. in punk and then I also thought I'd add something extra with some resources that you can get in this bunk room, so obviously you know it's going to be pretty dangerous to get in here with these three zombies, so there has to be some form of reward, so I thought that if you break the glass and then move the lever, you can gain access to a resource chest.

A nice little detail. If there's one thing Indiana Jones has taught me it's that if you're walking through a cave, it's going to collapse behind you at some point, so we might as well add them to the

abandoned

mine shafts in Minecraft and it should actually be Pretty simple, all we need is a small hatch type hatch in the roof that will move everything. the blocks out of the way and then a bunch of gravel ready to fall and this should create the effect and I honestly can't believe how invisible the tripwires are that I still can't remember where I put them.
What gives it away is the hitboxes, but if I go through this thing that's actually quite realistic, I feel like it needs a sound effect, but I don't know how we could do it using basic things other than maybe some TNT, but the delay I don't know now, just as a warning, this could end up blowing everything up, but TNT mine carts are always a good way to go if you want instant TNT noises and three, two, one, huh, that might have been better. Let's try it again with just a few less TNT mine carts, that was much better, full-blown Indiana Jones, we've reached 100 Indiana Jones and in fact, I think we're going to continue with that Indiana Jones theme because one thing that always seems to come up in those types of movies are keys to accessing certain secret areas, so why don't we play with that?
There will be a key located somewhere inside. I really like the difference that the pickle is a key, it's kind of a key, but anyway, like I was saying, there will be a key located. somewhere in the abandoned mine shaft which can then be used on one of the minecart chests found inside the abandoned mine shaft to open a secret part of the abandoned mine shaft. Now let's see how well this works. I mean, it should work pretty well because everyone. This is a super old school red stone. I mean, I probably built this kind of thing when I first started and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that, sometimes the oldest redstone is the best redstone that I feel like it would be wrong for.
I don't want to catch one of these, I mean, you know, it's all very well that we get access to a secret room, but there shouldn't be such a thing as a free lunch. You know, I feel like we really need to add a comparator behind this that runs. on some TNT mine carts, I don't know if it's obvious, but I'm really enjoying the TNT mine carts right now, oh no, you'd learn very quickly to check behind those item frames, wouldn't you? So I'd say we're doing pretty well so far, but one thing we're missing is some sort of large-scale events, or I'm not going to say the words boss battle, but something like a clear goal to work towards.
Let's do that now what I'm thinking is we have a room a little bit like this, obviously I'll decorate it a little more in a second, but in the center we have a block of diamonds now, if you try to take that diamond. instantly block this happens, we can detect it and then we can trigger an event and that event looks a little bit like this, it's a little bit excessive, I mean there's a chance that it's a little bit excessive, but I mean, how can I? You can't imagine how surprised you would be if that thing activated in your abandoned mine shaft.
That's funny. You know this is really hard because I'm doing my best to keep the essence of the naturally generated Minecraft structures and not go completely crazy. Redstone gadgets and keeping things pretty sensible, but you know me, I really want to go overboard, complicated, it's hard to resist, I will, because I think one thing that would be cool in an abandoned mine shaft is if you had almost like a safe house . So this is an area that a villager who has survived the infection type has created where they block off a certain area of the mine shaft, so let's say for example we go up here, so if we add a bunch of iron. bars that separate it from the rest and then in here we have a small combination lock, but the most important thing is that we also have additional resources now the combination lock that I just mentioned is the way you actually enter this place, so you can see we have kind of a little sticky piston door here and my combination is those two levers over there.
A super simple little lever combination lock, but it works well and I must say I'm really starting to like the feel of this abandoned mine. Hey, it would be cool to have them in naturally generated worlds. I'd go out looking for them and also with these new villager designs, I mean, imagine how cool it would be if we could get an abandoned mine shaft villager, it's all tattered. all his clothes are tall maybe he has a beard his trades are super cheap because he will do anything for emeralds he hasn't seen a human in many years honestly i think we are on to the winner with this

minecraft

1.15 anyway another simple redstone contraption here, this one is pretty obvious, we are going to replace this minecart chest rail with a detector rail and then we are going to take the comparator output of that detector rail and when the player removes all the items, yes, it will cause problems.
I had no idea you couldn't wash blocks of logs, I mean obviously you can water half a slab which is total news to me, embarrassing. Well, this solution doesn't work as well, but it's still fine, so the lava falls. and if you're just looking at all the items and things that are going to spread around and cause some damage, another thing that I hope causes a little bit of damage is my next wire trap, again, really, really simple, nothing too crazy. is happening here, but it fits in nicely with the kind of booby traps you'd expect from a zombie-infested abandoned mine shaft and voila, I mean, what more could you need?
To be honest with you, an on/off switch would be helpful right now. So it turns out that actually the arrows were triggering the tripwire creating like an infinite loop of pain and destruction, so luckily I managed to turn it off and I came up with something here that I really think could work very, very well, so now we have these stockings stone slabs here, they work perfectly for the floor, if we build them like this and then drop them, it's almost impossible to detect something like a pressure plate on the floor, so we can make some really cool traps here, especially now that we have blocks of scaffolding.
I mean, we can build from one area of the scaffolding. Then we can build up and out and then a piston can break the scaffolding. Everything collapses. I do not do it. Sure if a lava pit is too hard, it might be too hard for naturally generated Minecraft structures, but for this example we'll use it, so we're walking, we're walking, we just walked over that tripwire, we've been hit. by the arrows we feel a little hard and ready we walk on the pressure plates and oh my words that is brutal, God there is no way to stop, there it is, you wouldn't be able to do anything, you literally couldn't. do something, oh that feels a little hard, but I love it, I mean, I must say I really like this place that we have created here, there are a lot of challenges, there are also a lot of rewards, there are things that you can find there are little adventures that you can take there are turns you can turn I ran out of things to say here I feel like this could be a huge improvement to the game if something like this was implemented In a future Minecraft update I'd be interested to hear what you guys think in the comments section and also let me know any additional suggestions that you think would really take this to the next level, but anyway ladies and gentlemen, I really hope you enjoyed this video, if you did make sure to use the like button and if you really loved it, make sure you subscribe, but thanks for watching guys, this was stupid and I'm out, see you later.
