to access. A former police detective named David Politis has investigated thousands of these strange disappearances and documents what he finds in his incredible book series called Missing 4-1-1 Today. We're going to look at three of his strangest

missing

On May 21, 1941, Betty Albright and her three-year-old son Eldridge traveled to her mother's house in rural Woodstock, Maryland. Betty had asked her mother if she could watch her son during the afternoon so that Betty could catch up on the sleep she so desperately needed. They arrived at Betty's mother's house at around 130 and immediately Betty came in, gave her son to her mother and went upstairs to take a nap. As for Eldridge and his grandmother, they went out to the backyard to play.

Now Eldridge loved going to his grandmother's house because he had a huge yard. for him to play on, if you were standing on his back porch looking out, it would be 250 meters of open grass for him to run and crash into this huge forest and in the middle of his property looking directly into the forest there was a space of ten feet between the trees that, if you walked through it, would lead you to the bed of a stream that was seasonal and very rarely ran water from the porch. Anyone who was standing on the bed of this stream. could see clearly and so Eldridge was allowed to play in the creek bed as long as he did not go to the right or left in the creek which would put him out of sight of anyone on the porch and so it was this

icular day when Eldridge and his grandmother Eldridge went outside and wanted to go play in the creek bed, so he immediately started running across the yard towards it along with his grandmother's three dogs, since his grandmother simply did not have the strength to go down to the stream bed. so she decided to just sit on the porch and read a book and keep her eyes on Eldridge.

She remembers seeing his grandson walk all the way across the yard until she reached the gap in the trees and then down to the creek bed where he started. joking with the dogs and throwing rocks and having a good time was clearly in plain sight and for the next 5 to 10 minutes she just looked directly at her grandson and the dogs and at some point she picked up the book that was next to her and started reading. the book and then periodically looked up to check on his grandson and then returned to the book around 2 p.m.

He was looking at his book when he heard his grandson scream for help, now three year olds scream for help all the time. Sometimes it's a big deal and sometimes it's not that big a deal, but often the sound of your voice gives away how serious you are, no matter what they say, it's like their tone gives it away, should I take this seriously or is it just a child? a three year old boy and she was saying that the way he was screaming sounded like a real emergency when she stuck her head out even though she had seen him less than a minute ago playing in the gap between the trees, now she's looking and he and the dogs are gone and of course she is alarmed, she jumps up from her seat, goes down the stairs and starts crossing the yard towards eldridge and calls out his name and walks quickly when she got about halfway across the yard.

He heard Eldridge shout again, except this time his voice came from far away in the forest, much further away than the last time he shouted, it seemed to him that he had moved a great distance since the last time he shouted at him. . her and that triggered something inside her that was telling her something was terribly wrong and she started running towards the creek bed, still no sign of the dogs, she can't see anything, she's just running towards the creek bed as it walks away about 10 meters. From the gap between the trees he hears his grandson scream for the third time barely audibly, far away in the forest, he screams for help and while he screams it sounds as if someone had suffocated him and covered his mouth mid-scream, so she runs through the break between the trees to the creek bed where she stops and looks in front of her and it's just a dense forest and there's no eldridge there's no dogs there's nothing, she looks down at the creek bed and There is nothing down there and at that moment she looks to her left and one of her dogs is on the creek bed, about 10 meters away, with his back to her and the dog is positioned in such a way that he is clearly looking at something. , so he runs towards the dog thinking he's going to see maybe eldridge or the other dogs but there's nothing beyond the dog the dog is just stuck in the spot where his hair stands up, he growls and takes small steps back Like she got scared by whatever she sees or whatever she's looking at and she just looked.

She got up and tried to look in the direction the dog was looking, but there was nothing, it was just forest, so At that moment she felt sure that someone must have kidnapped Eldridge, so she turned and tried to pull the dog to come with her, but the dog doesn't move and she runs back to the house to wake up Eldridge's mother. Eldridge. The two return to the creek bed. The dog is still in the same position, growling and looking in the same direction as if whatever he is looking at never existed. They haven't gone anywhere and are looking for a couple more minutes.

They are shouting for Eldridge and the grandmother tells her daughter. Look, I think he's been kidnapped. We have to call the authorities and finally she relents and they manage to get the dog back. They ran back to the house and called the police. Shortly after, the state police showed up with a large contingent of searchers and immediately went down to the creek bed where they began pushing predominantly toward the left side, which is where the dog was leaning and was also where the grandmother had heard her grandson screaming and Very quickly the police discovered some of Eldridge's footprints about 50 meters below, on the left side of the creek bed, they were in a bit of sand right at the edge and they were walking away as if he were leaving the area where They had told him to stay, that he was in that gap between the trees, but curiously from the footprints it seemed that he had been walking for about 20 or 30 meters when, inexplicably, the prince simply stopped as if stopping in the sand where he stood. found. but if he had gone right, left, straight, turned around, if he had gone in any direction, there would have been additional footprints in the sand, but there weren't any, which gave the impression that that was where Someone must have picked him up and kidnapped him, but they never found him.

ies that had left much of the main search area hoping to find one of the two missing dogs because they thought maybe they could lead them to the missing boy and this team that was four miles from where Eldritch had disappeared were walking. a swamp when one of them heard what sounded like a child's moan and it was coming from inside the swamp and they immediately turn around and start walking towards the swamp which had quite deep water and they come to this clearing and they see that there is a rocky outcropping with tall grass around them forming like a cave and they hear this moan again and it comes from under that rock and they rush and they are throwing the grass aside and sure enough they hide it under this rock inside this type of improvisation .

The cave is Eldridge, he was lying on a very well built bed of leaves that looked like an animal den, so either Eldridge had found an animal den or he had built this beautiful bed of leaves himself when they approached him, he was sleeping under this rock and So that moan he was making he must have been making in his sleep and when they got close to him he woke up and sat up and he's very groggy and confused, you know, all his clothes were very torn and He wasn't wearing any shoes, but in overall seemed fine.

He just seemed very confused, so they picked him up and took him back to the search headquarters, reunited him with his mother and grandmother and everyone is very relieved that he is alive, but at the same time, people were saying how did he come to be? four miles away in the middle of a swamp and after the doctor cleared him saying he was fine, other than some scrapes and bruises, the police, along with the mother and grandmother, sat down with Eldridge and questioned him. He, you know what happened, but unfortunately Eldridge seemed not to know that this had happened.

He didn't even know that he had spent 24 hours alone in the middle of the forest. It was like he erased everything because they found Eldridge. Alive and unharmed, the police did not continue investigating this case, so we do not know what caused him to suddenly scream for help and appear to walk further and further into the woods. We don't know what the dog saw in the creek that scared him so much that we don't know how Eldridge moved four miles through dense forest through multiple swamps only to end up in yet another swamp inside a cave, although the police came out and said that Eldridge must have simply gotten lost in his Basically, everyone involved in this case believes that someone or something kidnapped him, it is very lucky that he was found alive, unfortunately there is no clarification on what happened to the other two dogs, although From the way it's worded in the story, it seems like they were never found.

In the 1950s, the Thorpe family lived in Dunbar, Pennsylvania, which was a small town of less than 1,000 people. Their house was on a very quiet street with very few neighbors near them and their property was right next to this forest that was right in their backyard. Her two-year-old daughter Anna loved to play in her backyard, but she was told to stay in the grassy section of her backyard and not venture into the woods because the woods were infested with snakes and Anna was terrified of them. the steaks, so he happily did so. On May 5, 1950 Anna was playing in her backyard on that grassy section and her mother was in the kitchen looking out the back window into the backyard and her mother looked down for a second when she heard her daughter scream , he looked up and Anna was gone.

She immediately ran out and is screaming for her daughter, she is looking around and knows that she must have gone to the forest and she is thinking to herself that she must have been bitten by a snake and is lying on the ground somewhere, that's why I can't. She sees her and runs into the forest and screams for her daughter and she doesn't get any response, she is starting to panic. All her screams have caught the attention of her two oldest children who were in the house, they run out and join the group. They search and they start to spread out and they're looking for Anna and she's just gone, so after just a few minutes of searching, Anna's mom decides she has to call the police, the police show up and they launch a massive search and they word spread. to the residents of dunbar that one of their own had lost no less than a child, so practically everyone in dunbar showed up to be part of the search and they combed the entire forest behind their property and there was simply no sign of anna After the first 24 hours had passed and they had found no sign of Anna, they decided to expand the search area from a one mile radius to a three mile radius and within a few hours of this change there was a team that was three miles away. miles from where Anna had disappeared and they found Anna and she was alive.

She was lying under a blackberry tree. All she had on was a single shoe. Next to her was a pile of clothes. When they approached her, she seemed fine. They picked her up and brought her back to the search center where she was reunited with her parents. A doctor looked at her and the doctor said, "You know, there are no signs that she was attacked." There are really no signs of wear on it. It doesn't even seem like she was out for the last 24 hours when Anna was asked what happened to her, she couldn't give any kind of meaningful answer because she's only two years old, but the reason this case is included in today's video is not is because you know she mysteriously disappeared in the woods and was actually found three miles away versus one or you know she was foundwith just one shoe, the reason it's included in today's video is because they found it where they found it.

The only way she would have gotten there was if she crossed 10 barbed wire fences, there was no other way she would have gotten there, the only other way would have been a massive detour that she literally couldn't have covered. An adult probably couldn't have covered the given amount of time, so this two-year-old with no scratches found on his body on the other side of ten barbed wire fences, I mean, even if you remove the barbed wire from the fence, a two-year-old child climbs a large fence, that alone is a herculean task to do. do it without scratching your body it's not possible it's really

impossible

a May 7 article in the LA Times said the police were baffled by this ten fence dilemma and said the only way it would make sense is if she had been kidnapped and dumped there, but police also repeatedly said there was no evidence to suggest she had been kidnapped, attacked or harmed in any way, it was simply where she was found.

She didn't fit. In the end the police issued a statement saying that this had to have been an accident that Anna, the two year old girl, somehow managed to get past all these fences and was found where she was and thank God she is alive, but interestingly the police confiscated his clothes and did not return them to the parents, indicating that there was further investigation. It happened even though the girl had been found, but unfortunately the police never revealed if they actually discovered anything else about this case and, as in the Eldridge case, Anna's parents did not press for more information about what happened to Anna. his daughter because they found her alive. and now unharmed anna's case may seem like a crazy anomaly and that's it, but this is not the first time something like this has happened in this small area in pennsylvania two years earlier and less than 10 miles from where anna disappeared two other ronald Two-year-old Collier also disappeared in the same stretch of woods where his mother was sitting with him on the back porch that overlooked the same woods and at some point his mother walked in leaving Ronald sitting in one of the seats when she he came out again ronald was gone his mother estimated he was inside for about 10 or 15 seconds at most the police and the community came out in force and combed the woods and couldn't find any sign of ronald and the police got really frustrated with Ronald's parents because they felt this was impossible, how could this child not show up considering the timeline that you have given us, which is that you came in for 10 to 15 seconds and your son is now completely gone, he has disappeared completely, how should you have done it? something to do with this, so the police made Ronald's parents take polygraph tests and his parents passed them all.

The search for Ronald continued for several weeks, but unfortunately it finally ended and he was never found. People in the area believed that maybe someone or something. A bear or some other animal was lurking in the trees and watching Ronald and as soon as his mother entered the house, they ran and grabbed the boy and ran away with him, however the police came out and said there was no evidence that They will support it. It was learned that this child had been kidnapped and that Ronald most likely simply up, walked away and disappeared. However, two years later, when Anna's case occurred, these similarities between her case and Ronald's were too much for the locals to overlook, so people started.

Saying that you know, it seems that Anna was abducted and placed where she was eventually found within those woods and so probably whoever took Anna is the same person or thing that took Ronald, but Anna was lucky to survive despite this mysterious predator theory. It's just that one theory seems more likely that Ronald in 15 seconds got up and fled into oblivion never to be found again and Anna scaled 10 barbed wire fences in a 24 hour period without a scratch on her body, unfortunately, Although we will probably never know the truth, in September 2004, 49-year-old Robert Springfield, along with his two teenage children, left their home in Wyoming for the Bighorn Mountains in Montana.

They were planning to hunt elk on the Crow Reservation, which is the homeland of the Crow Tribe, and Robert and his family were members of the Crow Reservation and therefore had the right to hunt on that land. The specific place the boys were going to hunt was Black Canyon, a particularly steep and rugged area, but Robert was well equipped for this. type of environment because he had previously served in the United States Marine Corps in their special operations unit, which would have meant that he would have received a very high level of outdoor survival training, which is perfect for living in the mountains, Robert's children had apparently learned a lot from him and were also very competent nature lovers.

They arrived at the reservation on September 19 and immediately went hunting with a bow and arrow. Their plan was that the two children would separate from their father and head to the edge of the canyon. and tried to drive the elk into the valley so his father could shoot them, but by the end of the afternoon the two teenagers had not seen a single elk and it was time to return to the pre-camp meeting. place and then they packed their things and headed there, the children arrive at the meeting area and their father Robert is not there, so they sit down and start waiting and an hour passes, two hours pass, three hours still pass. there's no sign of their dad, they can't get in touch with them, they don't have cell phone service and so they're thinking to themselves, okay, you know, worst case scenario they changed him and he'll have to spend the night. outside in the It's cold but he has warm winter clothes, he knows what he's doing, he'll be fine, so as the sun was setting, the kids finally left to go tell the authorities that their father was, you know, missing somewhere in the Black Canyon, but it just didn't happen that way. registering with them that this could endanger their lives, that something really bad could have happened to their father, he was just a Superman figure to them and it just didn't cross their minds, the authorities launch a search that night that includes the use of helicopters with thermals.

Thermal imaging cameras that perform low flybys of the entire Black Canyon thermal imaging cameras pick up a heat signature and therefore anyone who is alive emits a heat signature, so at night, if you were flying through Almost nothing else around them would stand out like a bright light, but that night the helicopters combed the entire Black Canyon and never saw Robert. However, the authorities would say that you know this guy that he trained. You know, the former special operator probably went and found shelter. So it could be inside a cave or maybe it made a shelter with tree branches and that obscures it from the thermal imaging camera, so we will have to look tomorrow but the next day despite bringing hundreds of searchers, hounds and people. on horseback and more helicopters and planes flying overhead there is no sign of a thief and after several weeks of finding no sign of Robert they finally called it off, the family was obviously devastated but more than that they were shocked at the idea that something bad had happened .

It happened to the invincible Robert, that just didn't fit them, so after the official search was over they would continue to make trips to Black Canyon in search of their father, their husband, but unfortunately, like all searchers, they never found any trace of him. and finally accepted that he was gone a year later, in october 2005, a hunter who knew nothing about robert springfield or the fact that he had disappeared. this hunter is in black canyon in the same area where robert springfield had gone missing and this hunter is walking through this really dense forest, he's alone, he's an experienced hunter and he's not on a trail, he's just combing the forest and he starts to Hearing what sounds like a crow's screech and at first it doesn't register, it is only in retrospect that he remembers this sequence of events as he continued walking as the chirps intensified to the point where he simply couldn't ignore them, so he stopped and He turned to hear the cawing of the crow that he couldn't see through the dense forest. but he realized it was in that general direction, this hunter said as soon as he stopped and turned around and started actively listening to this crow, he had this strange feeling that the crow was actively trying to communicate with him, it was a very strange experience.

He had never had anything like this in his entire hunting career and spent a lot of time outdoors, so he felt that he had to go and see what was happening with his crow and started walking towards the crow that he still can not. Look at him, there is very thick vegetation and he gets closer and closer and he comes to a place where he can barely see this crow. It's in a clearing. There is a large tree stump right in the middle of the clearing. This tree stump is not short. It's like six seven eight feet high in the air, it looks like this tree has split in half and fallen and this crow is sitting on top of this kind of gnarled stump and the crow is screeching incessantly and from the perspective of this hunter he can see the crow and he is staring at it and as the hunter is looking at this crow the crow suddenly turns and looks directly at the hunter and recognizes that the hunter can see the crow and the crow stops screeching and he just looks directly at the hunter and this hunter would say that he felt so unsettled by the crow's sudden behavior because it was almost like confirming that the crow was looking for him and now he had found him and he stopped screeching looking at him the bird continued to look silently towards him the hunter to the point where the hunter felt compelled to walk out of the vegetation into the clearing to confront the crow, so he entered the clearing and the crow was no longer screeching just looking at the hunter and the hunter is standing in the clear and looks at the crow and the crow suddenly looks down.

The hunter follows the crow's gaze to the ground and sees that at the base of the tree there is a human skull and the hunter is so baffled by this that he looks back at the crow who is looking at him again and the whole situation is so terrifying to him. this hunter who simply takes note of where he is and runs as soon as the hunter left the forest and returned to the cell phone. At the reception he called the authorities, the authorities showed up and he showed them on the map where he had discovered this crow and the skull next to a tree and, sure enough, the authorities came out and found the skull right under this tree, the crow in this point. disappeared when they walked towards the tree stump, they discovered that it was not just a human skull, it was also a human femur bone right next to the skull and then next to that, there was a pair of boots that had been carefully placed next to they. side by side and then next to it was a belt that had been tightly rolled up and placed next to the boots and then next to it was a jacket that was not folded but rolled up and inside the jacket was a wallet that contained cash . and Robert Springfield's identification cards, the authorities began a search in that area to look for the rest of Robert's remains, but unfortunately they were never recovered, nor were his bow and arrows found, the FBI intervened in the case because They suspected foul play and they eventually determined that Robert must have been shot and then they retracted that statement and said that he was actually hit by a falling tree, but if he was hit by a tree, where is the rest of him?

Wouldn't he have been in that area? and then why were all his things neatly stacked? He certainly wouldn't have done that after being hit by a tree. So, who carefully stacked his things after being hit and then also where is his bow and arrows? But as unlikely as it may seem, that is the situation. The official theory is that he was hit by a falling tree, the family along with many other people believe that he was attacked by someone or something in those mountains, but if he had been attacked, his children would have heard the fight because they were in an area where the sound got along very, very well and if a person attacked him, why didn't they take the money from his wallet?

Furthermore, the location where Robert's remains were found was very close to where his original campsite had been with his two children the night he disappeared. and was therefore firmly located within the initial search grid, meaning that if he had been under a tree or had been left for dead in that area by some attacker, they would have found him in the first few weeks they were searching before to end the search. So the fact that he wasn't found means that hundreds of people didn't see him, including a helicopter with a thermal imaging camera, or that he wasn't there.there until the search ended and if so, where was it and perhaps the strangest aspect of this?

The whole case is this hunter's claim that a crow apparently lured him to this tree stump where he found Robert's remains.
