Okay, let's get into today's stories. West Townshend is a rural area on the east side of Glastonbury Mountain in the U.S. state of Vermont. This is important because it places West Townshend in the so-called Bennington Triangle, which is apparently one of the most haunted places in America, the triangle is a loosely defined area encompassing the ghost town of Glastonbury, which used to be a small community. lumber center centered on the mountain of the same name in southwestern Vermont, the town was abandoned in the late 19th century, after the logging boom subsided, making the metropolitan area of Glastonbury, of which it is undoubtedly a

to the alarming number of unexplained disappearances that have occurred there over the last 100 years, plus during those 100 years there have been dozens of sightings of the so-called Bennington monster, which is apparently this eight-foot-tall creature that wanders through the mountains. of Glastonbury and some people think that creature is behind many, if not all, of these strange disappearances on November 23, 1943, Carl Herrick, 37, and his cousin Henry decided to go to West Townshin to hunt deer in some moment during his hunt.

top 3 scariest run ins with unknown predators missing 411 part 20...

He split up and Henry spent some time shouting for Carl and looking for him, but he couldn't find him, so he assumed that he must have returned to his camp, but when Henry returned to the camp, he was empty and he waited a while. Little time for Carl, but he had the feeling that something was wrong and relatively quickly he went to look for the police. The police showed up, they searched for three days, they combed the entire area and there was simply no sign of Carl anywhere. On the third day, Henry discovered Carl's body. He was lying motionless face down in a forest clearing.

Initially, Henry thought that maybe he was still alive, so he ran over to him, turned him around, and quickly realized that no Carl had passed away, but there weren't any. Any obvious injuries on Carl's body had some minor scratches on his arms and hands, but that was it. Henry looked around the area and found Carl's loaded rifle leaning against a tree 70 feet away from where Carl was standing. his rifle on the ground was a spent bullet casing also around carl's body there were apparently huge bear prints the official cause of death was disconcerting carl was apparently crushed to death to the point where his rib was broken and pierced him the lung so the theory became carl must have been here alone, he encountered a black bear, he shot the black bear thinking it was down, he went over to check it out and the bear attacked him, he squeezed him and it killed him in the end, but not so quickly if Carl encountered a black bear. and he fired one shot at the animal based on the shell casing found, that one shot will not be enough to kill that animal or very rarely one shot will be enough to kill a black bear and Carl, being a hunter, would do it.

He knew this and would want to keep some distance with his gun trained on the animal in case he needed to shoot again, but even if Carl was really sure that one shot had taken down the bear, why would he risk his life by checking? ? the animal to make sure he is down without his gun why did he place it against a tree and then walked 70 feet towards this animal that if it is not dead represents a huge threat to you you are alone and unarmed with a huge bear that you have shot no one is going to do that you are going to carry your gun but even if all that happened that unarmed carl approached this bear thinking it was dead but the bear is not dead he lies heavy and jumps up and attacks carl Even if that happened, the black bears They don't squeeze people to death, they might scratch you and bite you and tear you to pieces, but they don't squeeze you to death, and Carl only had light scratches on his wrists and hands, no.
I have any signs of a traditional bear attack, so this is the first time in black bear history that a black bear squeezed a person to death or something else squeezed Carl, but what kind of animal is one? So hard that you can squeeze a man's? the chest to the point where it breaks his ribs and two are wandering around the bennington triangle, it makes you wonder that the eighth canyon is a gorge in the southeastern part of mount saint helen in the american state of washington, the cannon carries the name of a group of miners alleged that ape men, also known as Bigfoot, attacked their cabin there in 1924 and if you want to learn more about that specific event, I covered it on my YouTube channel in a previous video.
Is here. It's called Bigfoot's Scariest Attacks and I'll also include a link in the description and although some people believe there are literally ape men running around this gorge on Mount St. Helens, there has never been a confirmed sighting, however, there was a event in 1950 that forced the general public to accept the idea that there could be ape men running through Dave Canyon or at least a large predator somewhere in 1950. Jim Carter, 32, was a member of the National Patrol skiing at a ski area called Milwaukee Bowl which is located in Washington state like everyone else on ski patrol jim was a highly qualified skier and mountaineer in may of that year jim was part of a climbing group of 20 people from seattle washington their plan was to go to mount st helens walk above the tree line choose a spot and then ski down again so the group gets to mount st. helens, they go up the mountain, they get to the place where they want ski down, they sit down, put on their skis and Jim puts on his and says to the group, hello.
Why don't I ski down a little? I'll set up my camera on a tripod and take a photo of them as they pass by and then I'll follow them to the bottom and the group said great. It sounds awesome and Jim wanted to use his camera so it was a win-win so Jim, in full view of the group as they set up, skis down a bit and then turns left into an area called dog head, which It was a bit flatter than the area they were in, so it was probably a better place to set up his tripod, but as soon as he turned left towards that area, he was out of sight of the main group, so that after a few minutes, while the group was gathering their things.
They took a little bit more time because they're trying to time it, so they all leave at the same time because they want to get this photo in one go, so they take a little bit more time, they're all ready and finally they crouch down and They turn left, they're going to pass by the dog's head specifically so Jim can take their photo, but when they turn the corner, Jim isn't there, so they look around and say to each other. He told us that he was going somewhere else because he looked a lot like he was going to the dog's head but obviously he's not here and then someone said well maybe he got upset with us because we were taking a long time getting ready up there and he had just already arrived at the bottom and they agreed that's what he did, so they got back together and headed to the bottom, but when they got to the bottom, Jim wasn't there, so they sat there for a few more minutes.
Looking up the mountain and they are scanning down and they are searching everywhere but there is no sign of gem so the group started to get very worried and contacted the authorities when the first search team arrived. They went to the area where the group thought Jim had been taking up residence in the dog's head and as they looked around all they could find was this discarded film box, so there was no film or camera inside, just a box that would have contained the film. was kind of buried in the snow near this movie box, they found Jim Carter's ski tracks and they weren't angled south towards the base of the mountain where the whole ski group had gone, they were angled east towards Ape Canyon and they followed Jim's tracks and he said they never deviated, they were totally straight lines, like he wasn't trying to slow down, in fact he was trying to go as fast as possible and at some point he started jumping over these huge ice cracks that if you waste time it is a death. phrase, you are going to enter the crack and he not only jumped over one, he jumped over two, three, four at full speed without slowing down and then his footprints reached the edge from where the ape canyon could be seen and flew out.
When the head of the search team saw this crazy ski line from Jim Carter, he told the media that the only reason a guy like Jim, an expert skier who would never take risks like this, the only reason he would ski So if his life was in danger or if he was being chased, then the search teams moved into Abe Canyon and for five days 75 people combed the entire ape canyon up and back again and again, never They found Jim and never found a ski. or their camera or anything and the entire time they were looking, those 75 searchers reported that every time they were alone they had the distinct feeling that they were being watched and it became so uncomfortable for many of them that they refused to return to the gorge.
Unless they had someone right by their side after those five days of searching almost exclusively within Abe Canyon, they spent another five days not only searching Ape Canyon but also the surrounding areas and finally, after 10 days of not finding traces of Jim Carter, they began the search. was cancelled, the only rational thing that investigators could point to as the reason behind why this happened to Jim was that he was diabetic and had forgotten his insulin that day, so maybe he had hypoglycemia and got confused and then managed to ski down the cliff towards Abe. canyon where he landed in such a way that he remained hidden or since the head of the search party seems to think that they were chasing him he was skiing to save his life, whatever he was chasing had scared him so much that he was skiing in straight line. down a cliff jumping over ice cracks before falling into the ape canyon and then presumably whatever forced him off the edge came down and picked him up and took him with him and that's why they couldn't find him but unless that someone will find his body or find another As convincing evidence, we will probably never know for sure what happened to Jim Carter.
Somewhere in the Sierra Nevada mountain range lies a small hunting camp that has been there since the 1950s, despite its fame, only a handful of people know exactly where this camp is, but even if they gave you directions explicit about how to get there, you could just walk by because it's hidden in the middle of the forest on this mountain, it's just a small fire pit, a couple of logs around it, another log prepared to cut. Wood and you know some paths that have been traveled over the years by its occupants, but according to the members of the camp there is nothing special.
The quickest way to get to the site is on horseback and it is approximately eight miles and is through very rugged terrain. mountain and includes a drop of four thousand feet; However, this eight mile trail is unmarked and changes slightly each year because trees will fall along the trail changing the topography. Ron Moorhead, one of the four original members of the camp, laments the fact that anyone knows anything about this camp, he wishes they had kept it a secret, but he knew it wasn't an option after what they discovered there in late 1971. In early 1971 Ron was a young man and was invited out for the first time to Camp Sierra by the three founding members when Ron got there he fell in love with it was this beautiful pristine natural wilderness that overlooked this incredible valley and was surrounded by these huge white-skinned trees there was astream of fresh water that trickled and in terms of Deer hunting was abundant.
Ron said this camp was the closest to heaven and he thinks he will ever have the only real drawback to the place was the large bear population, but they always had weapons and built the shelter with heavy fallen beams. that they could come in, close the door and they would be protected from the bears until they left, when there was no bear threat, they slept heavily on the ground in late 1971, Ron returned to camp with the other three founding members. They had had a great day of hunting and were standing around the campfire chatting with each other when they began to hear a growl not far from them in the woods.
Usually, whenever a bear came to their camp, it was usually at night and they would hear it growling somewhere in the woods and as soon as they heard it they would stop and listen to it to confirm that it was a bear and if it was, they would go inside. their shelter and would wait for it to leave, but this time, when they stopped to listen to confirm that it was a bear, the sound they heard next was something they had never heard before and it was so terrifying that they almost fell on top of each other. running to enter the shelter, it was like a scream you would expect from an ape, except instead of a series of screams like you would expect from an ape, it was a loud boop and then silence and then another creature.
Elsewhere he made an answering cry that sounded different from the first. There were at least two creatures that were basically talking to each other in the forest, out of sight, Ron would say, while these creatures howled and screamed at each other in the forest. The men were huddled inside the shelter looking at each other as if someone had heard that sound before and no one knew what it was and after a while they heard these creatures running towards the camp. They were pretty good but they heard these. Heavy footsteps were approaching and then Ron and the others stood against these slats inside the shelter where they could look in the direction where these creatures were and they were looking beyond the light of their campfire into the dark forest and they hear these things running running running and they stop they don't enter the clearing it's like they were out of where they could see and then their tone completely changes these creatures that are now one on one side of the camp and one on the other start talking to each other in a language that It almost sounds human but it didn't make sense, it sounded like an imitation of a human language but not human and then Ron and the others are terrified and just look through the slats waiting You see this creature that's going to emerge at some point, but it never does. does.
Instead, the creatures continue to stay out of the light and move behind their shelter out of sight, so Ron and the others move to the center of their shelter to reach it. as far away from the walls as possible because there are cracks in the walls, so they worry that one of these things might reach out and grab them, but eventually, after hours of these creatures running around the perimeter of their camp communicating in this way. completely otherworldly language they began to scream again and ran away and for the rest of the night Ron and the other three stayed in that shelter the next day when the sun rose the men left that camp as fast as they could these are difficult men and were very shaken by this experience and tried to talk about it but there was just no way to describe what they were hearing and experiencing so they just decided they wanted to get out of there as quickly as possible and they will deal with this further late, but as soon as they left the forest and returned to their homes, they didn't talk about it anymore, except that Ron became obsessed with whatever was making that sound he so desperately wanted to discover. what it was and then he convinced the other three members to come with him and return to camp, except this time Ron was going to bring an audio recorder and he was going to try to capture some audio of these creatures and so the four men.
They went back to camp, they didn't even hunt that day, they stayed near the camp, they made a big fire and they were all sitting there, nervous, waiting, hoping it would happen and also hoping it wouldn't happen. At some point in the afternoon, Ron said he heard footsteps in the middle of the woods and they sounded like they were running toward camp. The four men run inside the shelter, closing it behind them, and Ron turns on the audio recorder that is now in front of you. listen to this famous recording here is its bona fides after being recorded, ron sent it to dr. lynn curlin, professor of electrical engineering at the university of wyoming, and he and his team analyzed it and concluded that it was not altered, so it has not been edited, it has not been manipulated in any way, it is an authentic audio recording and two, whatever was making the sounds, it couldn't have been a man because its vocal range was dramatically higher and lower than that of humans, the doctor said based on the creature's average pitch and tract length. who was making the sound was probably between seven feet three and eight feet tall, aside from dr. kirlin, a cryptolinguist expert named scott nelson also pointed out that it would have been almost impossible in 1971 for ron or any of the other hunters to duplicate the sound of their voices that are on the recording over the sounds that these creatures were making because a couple of times on the recording you hear both sets of voices happening at the same time, that's something you couldn't have done in 1971. ...despite numerous attempts to discredit this recording, it still stands as a legitimate unreleased recording, although what they were recording remains a mystery.
Listen to it. There are two of them across the creek at Big Rocks. It is a difficult act. We go right there shortly after. this recording was made, Ron stopped hunting at this camp, however over the years he has returned several times because he is obsessed with trying to find out what is in the woods, but he says that to this day he still hasn't has any idea, so that'll do it, guys.
