I follow his trail into the area where Bobby had disappeared and the dog turns around and starts running down the logging road away from the camp, deeper into the woods and he runs for almost two miles and never seems to waver, he's clearly picked it up.

Bobby smells and stops at this fork in the road about two miles from where Bobby had disappeared and heads to this area right at the fork where there was nothing significant, it was just a bare patch of land and so the police discover a little bit of the dirt, there's nothing there, they're looking around the area and there's no indication that Bobby has ever been here, so they give the scent back to the dog and again the dog keeps tracking this section in this one. The road forked but they didn't know what to do with that information because there was nothing there.

The search for Bobby was called off after seven days because they couldn't find anything, so the lead investigator came out and made this press release where he basically said we have no idea what happened to Bobby, however, we believe it was kidnapped and his reasoning for this was quite simple. Bobby was a little boy with no shoes in an unfamiliar forest and was only out of sight for two minutes. So how far could he really have gone?
