Jun 02, 2021
Gordon Ramsay is a Michelin-starred chef with a passion for good food and hurling incredible insults at incompetent cooks. As the owner of 35 restaurants, he really knows his stuff when it comes to running a restaurant. He is famous for his steamy cooking competition, Hell's Kitchen, and the reality shows Hotel Hell and Kitchen Nightmares. It is absolute television gold, showing intense arguments, disgusting food and emotional reconciliations in equal measure. However, not everyone likes his tough love, so here are the top 10

! Vic and the Refried Bean Brick When he visited the Mexican restaurant Fiesta Sunrise, Ramsay found a true kitchen nightmare in the refrigerator.

Ramsay pulls tray after tray of leftover meat off the shelves, as well as ground beef covered in a huge chunk of fat. Sounds delicious, right? Well, it gets worse. Ramsay then discovers what looks like a container filled with a thick, gray goo. The owner, Vic, identifies this mysterious substance as refried beans. Ramsay calls food poop, to put it mildly, and tells Vic, "I wouldn't trust you to draw a bath." After little response from Vic, Gordon challenges him to show the beans to the customers. Vic refuses, so Gordon takes matters into his own hands and takes the beans to the restaurant himself, throwing them at the table and breaking it.

He declares that they are suspending service and that everyone must stop eating immediately if they don't want to get sick. Customers were horrified by the beans and it seems Vic finally got the message. After a thorough restaurant cleaning, a makeover, and a new chef, the restaurant relaunches and receives rave reviews, including from the mayor. Ramsay had hopes for the restaurant in the future. d. There was also a stabbing during this time, which was the final nail in Fiesta Sunrise's coffin.

Sticky Scallop Sara On a tense day in Hell's Kitchen, Sara begins to break down trying to prepare appetizers for a restaurant full of 100 hungry diners. When Gordon notices the slow progress, he walks over and sees Sara flipping the scallops too quickly, and that's not the only thing she's flipping. Surely this can't be enough to make her angry? Well, as if she wasn't mad enough, the scallops stick to the pan when she flips them, leaving an overcooked mess in the pan. Gordon loses his mind and his voice as he shouts, “If you sauté the scallops in a non-stick pan, they won't stick!

That’s why it’s called F***** non-stiiiiick!” He finally redeems himself by using the right pan, and the scallops finally get Ramsay's crucial go-ahead to be served. Despite this poor performance, she survived this episode. Sara moved on to fourth place in season 2 of Hell's Kitchen and told Gordon "Kiss me grits" when she left for Texas. It has not yet been confirmed whether he kissed her. Chef Michel and the Worms of Him You might be able to guess from the title why Ramsay is upset in this one. After a lunch of canned crab at Secret Garden, Ramsay decided to see what else was hiding in the kitchen.
He is usually dusty and dirty, but when he opened the refrigerator, even he didn't expect it to be this bad. The food was so moldy that he had molded the refrigerator itself. The real surprise came in the form of a sweet potato covered in maggots. As soon as he found it, Ramsay did what anyone would do and ran to the bathroom to throw up. When he confronted Michel, he said that it wasn't perfect and that Ramsay's cooking was probably just as bad, which is a very bold claim. Later in the episode, after the menu redesign, Michel decides to serve his old (horrible) menu and Gordon loses his patience.
Ramsay calls him a lazy French pig and tells him to clean up his own kitchen, before going outside to get some air and calm down. He almost leaves for good, but begins to feel that he has a responsibility to help the other

in the restaurant. He returns to save the day, having Michel cook a nice dish from the new menu, which was well received. However, with Michel in charge, the restaurant eventually closed. Still, the worms were probably happy to get the house back from him. Mr. Panini Head When he visits the French-style bistro Hannah and Mason's, Gordon is horrified by the incompetent chef and owner, Brian, creating an incredible new insult in the process.
At the Valentine's Day service, moldy spinach was served on not one, not two, but THREE plates. Not to mention a week-long cake for dessert. Brian seemed very happy to continue poisoning people, even though Gordon pointed out how disgusting it is. Brian, where is the love? To communicate with him, Gordon brought in both owners to see the condition of the chiller. What did he find? Roses are red, violets are blue, a tray had cooked chicken and raw chicken too. Brian ignored this again and Gordon yelled, "Hey, Panini Head, are you listening to me?" ICONIC. Gordon's face was as red as roses, as he reminded Brian that he had been served this meal before.
Gordon ran past the owners and closed the entire restaurant, probably saving many couples from spending a night in the bathroom. What a disappointing romantic evening that would be! Crazy Amy Amy of Amy's Baking Company was famous for being completely crazy, even before Gordon got there. Amy and her husband had worked with approximately 100 employees in 18 months, claiming they couldn't find competent staff (that's a red flag!). They also claimed to have another problem with online haters and believed there was a conspiracy against their restaurant. Oh! When Gordon arrived, he was pleasantly surprised at how clean he was and they gave him a cake that was delicious.
Very suspicious... Things became clear at lunch, where he was served frozen food and raw pizza, and Gordon didn't like that! He was even more upset to find out that no one had given Amy their opinion because they were afraid of her! After hitting a wall of denial with Amy, Gordon set up a meeting with both owners. It was a strange thing, but Gordon could barely say a word! Clearly, she wasn't going to change, so she did something she had never done before… she left! Apparently even Gordon Ramsay has a breaking point and she managed to reach it.
One would imagine they would close soon after, but when she revisits it in a later episode, they were selling t-shirts with quotes on them and doing what they called a "Disneyland for crazy people." Chef Ramsay and the Pumpkin King Many people try to confront Ramsay. Chefs? Sure. Owners? Hell yes. Servers? Sometimes. But the clients? Never. Well, that's what one would think, but in Hell's Kitchen, one customer does just that, for a pumpkin risotto. After yelling at the waiter, he goes straight to the kitchen to complain to Chef Ramsay himself. The customer interrupts Gordon while he was trying to finish the dishes and yells at him from across the kitchen.
He must be a brave, brave man. Either that or he'd never seen Hell's Kitchen before. Unsurprisingly, this does not sit well with Ramsay, who immediately becomes irritated by the rude customer. Quick as always, Ramsay agrees to get some pumpkin, but tells her that he'll ram her...where the sun don't shine. I'm not sure that's what the client had in mind. He offers to cut it first, what a gentleman! I guess that's what you get for trying to argue with Ramsay, I certainly wouldn't try! Garrett Had a Little Lamb In another iconic episode of Hell's Kitchen, Ramsay turns his gaze to Chef Garrett, who was having a somewhat unstable night.
Garrett was previously a prison chef, but even he felt the pressure of Hell's Kitchen. At the meat station, Garrett is constantly left behind, and due to his poor cooking, Ramsay suggested changing the name of Hell's Kitchen to Donkey's Kitchen. Phew! The pressure on Garrett was increasing and communication was completely cut off. Bad news, Garrett, you can't ignore Chef Ramsay! Trying to save the service, Ramsay asked "WHERE'S THE LAMB SAUCE?", leading to the creation of a new viral meme. Surprisingly, he has yet to ask Garrett twice! Not good. When he finally gets it, Ramsay tells him to fuck off, calling him a "yankee dankee doodle sh***"... really a bad word.
I'm not quite sure what that means, but I respect the spin of 'Dr. Seuss' on the insult. Surprisingly, his team wins the challenge because they served more meals than the other team. Garrett left Hell's Kitchen two episodes later, in Episode 7 of Series 2, after sending raw chicken to customers. Although he never

it to the finals, Garrett has now been immortalized in one of Hell's Kitchen's most famous episodes, which is just as cool, I guess? Crabby Abby In season 4 of Kitchen Nightmares, Ramsay travels to Rhode Island to save the DownCity restaurant, owned by his best friends Abby and Rico.
Abby says he has 30 years of restaurant experience and rates the food 10 out of 10. Oh yeah, Abby, we've heard that before. After trying the food, Gordon is unimpressed and then discovers that there is no head chef and that Abby (who doesn't know how to cook) writes the menu. What a mess! Later, Gordon inspects the kitchen and I'm sure you can imagine what a kitchen is like without a head chef. Disgusted by the messy kitchen, he heads to the refrigerator, where he finds chicken carcasses in a carrying bag (not normal!) and an unidentifiable mold that smells like cheese.
Abby and Rico go down to inspect the mess with Gordon, but Abby refuses to accept it! Instead, she accuses Ramsay of planting the disaster there! I guess he brought his bag of rotten chicken to work that day? Furious at these crazy claims, Ramsay calls her a stuck-up bitch, starting a huge argument that ends with her telling him to leave. Poor Rico gets caught in the middle of this madness and goes after Gordon, who is his only hope of keeping the restaurant. Gordon agrees to help him and meets with Abby to start making changes to DownCity. The new chef and new menu are well received on relaunch night, and when Gordon visits again in a later episode, business is booming!
However, Gordon can still see the tension between Abby and Rico and apparently she's just yelling at him instead of the staff. Rico just can't catch a break! Melin-deer in the headlights Hell's Kitchen contestant Melinda had too much on her plate at the appetizer station for dinner service. She was assigned the task of preparing the cappelini dish (which is basically thin, elegant spaghetti) for the evening. After failing to cook a pasta dish seven times, she gave Chef Ramsay his eighth try, and he promised that it was cooked correctly. MISTAKEN! Ramsay told her that she was once again undercooked and threw another portion of fancy (and expensive) pasta into the trash.
Ramsay notices her and tells her that she should have cooked it in the pan a little longer. She only thinks about waste! Gordon put two and two together and realized that he had probably thrown all the plates too far away, so he started emptying the trash can and putting pile after pile of cappelini on the counter. Astonished, he shouted 'LOOK! LOOK!' at Melinda, who was too shocked to speak, and she just stared at him like a dog just leaving muddy trails on the carpet. His lack of communication didn't help his case and he yelled, "You're making me angry!" That was it for Melinda.
She was eliminated later in that episode because she was blamed for the team's loss of hers. After her elimination, Ramsay commented: "Melinda was completely lost in space, so I sent her back to the planet where she came from." Moldy Floor Kaurs In a truly hellish hotel called The Brick, Gordon encounters some life-threatening dangers that owner Verindar Kaur and his son CJ didn't realize! Starting in the kitchen, Gordon finds a bucket filled with a thick, black tar-like liquid from grease traps. You don't need a professional to tell you that's not good. Gordon emphasized that this could start a fire and they were lucky they hadn't burned the whole place down already.
Angry with complacency, he went upstairs to check the cleanliness of his room. He used a bacterial testing kit to measure what exactly was hiding in his room. According to Ramsay, a measurement of 10 to 20 is healthy, but more than 30 is unhygienic. He tried the vents first and it's worse than you think. 35? 60? 100? No, there were 573! He then tested the shower curtain, which had visible mold. Get ready for this one... there were 5,680! That's very dirty. In the guest rooms, Gordon finds mold under the carpet and in the shower. That's too much for him, and he sets off the fire alarm, getting everyone out of the hotel as soon as possible (and hopefully into a clean shower!).
After an eye-opening staff meeting, the owner finally sees that she needs to change. With a thorough cleaning and renovation, the hotel is relaunched and locals are invited to check out the new hotel and restaurant. It seemed hopeful at first, but Yelp reviews are mixed with customers who are unhappy with the high prices. The good thing is that it is stillopen. Stop by if you're ever in Newtown, PA.
