where we count the victims of all our favorite horror movies. I'm James, a Chinese, and today we start a new franchise with The Purge, a dystopian film released in

2013

. Purge currently consists of three films, all written and directed by James Demonaco with a fourth film, the prequel, the first

purge

to be released this year on the 4th of July.

The premise of the Purge series is already well known once a year in the United States. States for 12 hours all crimes become legal to allow humans to release the beast and take out all their frustrations, although the

purge

results in record crime rates for the rest of the year and a booming economy for the country as a whole. , the films tend to criticize the experiment as cold, ruthless and much more brutal for poor people compared to the wealthier ones who celebrate the holiday behind high-tech security systems, The Purge is one of those rare film series where the first film is generally considered the worst.

James and Mary run to find his son with the stranger, so James begins to pull the gun on him. That's when Henry comes down the stairs and shouts James' name before pulling out his own gun and starting a shootout between the two gunmen. James lands and knocks Henry down before Zoe runs off to save the guy who just pulled a gun on her dad. During the chaos, the stranger manages to disappear and James is angry at Charlie for letting the guy into his house. James puts his wife and son in the safe room and then goes out to find Zoe so the whole family can be together.

Instead, he just finds Henry's body. dead on the floor and confirm the death by checking his pulse unless you know Henry is squeezing a ball under his armpit or whatever nonsense everyone said was possible after that they screamed three fuckers but the Stantons have a much bigger problem in his hands than a dead man. Romeo, there is a large group of well dressed people in masks approaching his house and looking at his security cameras, this is not the prime time programming you want to watch on purge night, the leader takes off his mask and introduces his gang as a group of good and true perjurers who are ready to cleanse their souls through murder.

He is angry because his target, the stranger, escaped from them and the Sandins have apparently given her shelter inside his house. James assures him that this is just a misunderstanding and that he is a big fan of the purge and doesn't do it. I want to deny someone that right, but that doesn't stop another purger from yelling at him to hand over the stranger. Now that bit of insolence puts a bullet in the brain for primary perjury, which is why I don't call it his credit. A character called Flight Leader shooting your minions is never a game, even if they're rude. In any case, seeing this psychopathic yuppie in action prompts James to redouble his efforts to find the stranger.

Charlie continues his VR expedition and there's a really cheap scare when his sister Zoey appears from the camera to tell him that she's going to hide in Charlie's secret cubicle, which is sure to get awkward and it does before long because James approaches the stranger pressing Henry has gone to Zoe's head and asking James to just leave. alone until the night ends. Charlie begs his mother not to do it, but she follows orders and the excruciating pain takes the fight away from the stranger enough for them to reach the chair, even between her son's disappointment and the stranger's very human eyes. who make their judgement. James manages to grab a pool ball and crush the man in perjury. in the head with it, then shoots the axe-swinging perjury lady directly from the pool table with a shotgun and kills her when the male purger attacks James with the pool cue.

Papa Sandin fights him and kills him by hitting his head against a pinball machine. Rarely is that worth an extra ball, at least a new perjurer flies out the window and tackles James, but after she misses a bunch of times with his gun, James is able to fight him off and use the lady axe to cut. him from behind, which would count as a kill anyway, but in case you're not convinced these two perjured men are dead, James double-taps them both with a shotgun ensuring the rifle is placed in the death count right now you're probably rooting for James, so it's a shame he turns a corner straight into the head perjurer and a knife to the belly, the nasty jab of a head perjurer whispers idiot. words in James' ear as he lays him on the floor, probably reciting a few passages from Atlas Shrugged before leaving the room and leaving James bleeding on the floor alone from a safe spot in the room with all the monitors Charlie Washes while hangers hang. around her house is shot to death by the sand and the family's neighbors who seem to be walking quite determinedly towards the house, thank goodness they are there because Mary is attacked by a pair of masked Bergers who tickle torture her and prepare to kill. her with a machete before the name opens fire on this pair, in addition to killing them with a bunch of shots from their pistols, the neighbors are catching up to James' KD pretty quickly, they get even more kills after getting away from Mary, already that we heard them shoot. weapons against a couple of off-screen soft targets along with some falling bodies.

Mary recovers and finds her husband bleeding on the floor and after crying for her children, Charlie joins her, that's when the main purger appears to finish the job and kill everyone. a lot of that, but as you've probably guessed, he's shot dead before he can do it. This time the shooter isn't a neighbor who appears out of nowhere, it's Zoey who appears out of nowhere. I'm glad the main purger is dead and everything but the movement of these characters drives me crazy oh well at least the family gets together just in time for James to die from that little prick, the big knife prick, yeah Ethan Hawke, with the upper beak, just bit the big one and joined the killer cow.

What's still left to happen here, how about a payoff for that punch line earlier about the neighborhood being jealous of the sand because these neighbors aren't on a rescue mission? The truth is that you are ours, now there is grace that directs the rest of the neighbors. to tie up Mary and the children so they can all be killed. Mary fights fervently for her children, as some would say her love for them is her only redeeming quality, well, that gets in the cheekbones, but it's no use, they're all tied up anyway. as Grace explains why they need to vent their hatred in this purge one night with so much money off Lena Headey puts on an incredible performance as usual as she begs for her children's lives, but these neighbors are just as blind to her perfect passion. like the Television Academy, they recited a prayer to the new founding fathers and prepared to kill the remaining Sandins.

That's when the stranger shows up, knocks out a guy, and after grabbing Grace, shoots Mr. Kelly to death with one hand, oh my god, and I'm staying in the safe house you paid for mr. It must have been a really awkward night sitting around the table, huh? When Mary gets distracted by Grace, her dead husband's body, she grabs the gun one last time, but Mary doesn't have it, and turns that shit off while her nose Grace bleeds like a faucet, a siren sounds signaling the end of the 2022 purge. Mariya fixes the neighbors in her house and thanks the A stranger for their help leaves with a simple message: good luck, yes, good luck to find another neighborhood to move to with such a good school district. I'm right? The movie ends with the Sandins looking at their damn front yard while a news report reports that this has been the most successful purge, but now obviously such a crazy premise for the movie is going to get us a lot of deaths, but did it break any count records? of deaths?

Let's figure out how to get to the numbers.
