More Interesting Facts About,

the aston martin lagonda taraf is the world s most expensive luxury sedan...

It is the only turoff currently on sale in North America and of course this is the only Roth on sale in North America because Laganda Taraff was never available in North America. Aston Martin created this car to be the ultimate

luxury

sedan

and the plan was to sell it only in the Middle East where there was a specific market demand. Aston Martin said that for said vehicle they eventually added more production. and I sold some in Europe and other markets but never in North America, but it's not surprising that production was so limited because the price was huge, as I said when it was new, it cost around 1 million, making it the most expensive. luxury sedan in the

world

and in fact it is still the most that can be equipped, a rolls royce phantom 2 with all the options, costs around 600 000, so this is basically two luxury sedan phantoms under the hood , it is a six liter v12 that generates around 530 horsepower and the platform is the same as the

db9 so what makes this car cost a million dollars?
the aston martin lagonda taraf is the world s most expensive luxury sedan
Why is it called laganda taraff and how is it here today? I'm going to answer those questions and review this car first. to show you all the quirks and features of the ultimate luxury sedan, then I'll take it out on the road and drive it and then give it a Doug rating. I'm going to start off with the quirks and features of the laganda turoff with probably its best feature and that would be the fact that it is beautiful and I mean really beautiful, stunningly beautiful, frankly I think this is the most attractive four door car I have ever seen. seen in my life.
the aston martin lagonda taraf is the world s most expensive luxury sedan
I've said that before about the e38. bmw 7 series, but now that I have spent some time with this car I can see that I was terribly wrong, this really is an intensely beautiful car, beautiful lines flowing down the body, very raked windshield, I actually came across one of these streets parked in London last summer and I spent minutes looking at it today. I've spent many more minutes and I think it's fabulous, really amazing. The styling of the rear is probably the best part. These beautiful lines that come to the rear and give it a concept car look, but this.
It's not a concept car, you can drive it if you have a million dollars, but anyway, now that we've covered the sheer beauty of this car, let's talk about some interesting exterior quirks, starting with the door handle, you can see that they are glued to the bodywork. To do the same with other Aston Martins of this era, you press the front part of the handle, the back part pops out and you can open it quite simply. Another interesting thing in this area is the glass on the side of the car. See, there's a front window and a rear window, but then there's glass between them, that's because Aston Martin didn't want to put a plastic panel in here like basically every other car, it wouldn't look as luxurious, they wanted to keep the glass down. the whole side of the grass and there is a still glass panel in the middle between the two pieces of glass which is cool and then there is another touch worth mentioning here on the side you can see this car has one of these front fenders . gills like many cars of this era did and a piece of aluminum that contains the turn signal sticks out on the side of the car, many car manufacturers integrate it into the mirrors, but on this car it is in the silver gill on the front fender, something interesting.
However, what's more interesting than the turn signal on the side of this car is the one on the back, when you turn on the headlights the tail lights come on and go back and you can see there are these individual horizontal lights that look very good back here, very distinctive. It's different from other Aston Martin models, but it gets even cooler when you turn on the turn signal. Take a look, the bottom part lights up orange and you can see the red taillights change color to orange with each flash of the turn signal, but only on the bottom half of this taillight assembly again looks very distinctive and cool that speaks to the luxury of this car and next we move to the front on the turret because there are some interesting elements worth pointing out, starting with the grille.
You can see this. It is a grill with a very distinctive shape, very special, very noticeable and very different from normal Aston Martin models, for example, take a look at the db9 grill, you can see a different shape, it fits differently with the headlights, Very different than the ones found on the Tiroth where they have these type of headlights that flow into the grille and just a different overall design. They wanted to make sure this car was very distinctive from standard Aston Martin models. Now up here the headlights aren't particularly distinctive or noticeable, but the turn signals are worth mentioning right now.
I can see that the headlights are on and the running lights are on on this car, but if you turn on the turn signal you can see that it takes the place of one of the running lights, whichever side you put it on, flashing orange on place of the running light. again there is a distinctive look to the front of this car and distinctive from other Aston Martin models at the time which generally had larger turn signals running up the front fender above the headlights and finally we move on to probably the most important thing . What's in front and that would be the badge on the bonnet from your angle, it probably looks like an Aston Martin badge, but look a little closer, it's a different and distinct badge from the Aston Martin badge and in fact, technically it's not an Aston Martin. its supposed to be called just laganda tiraf with laganda being the brand and turoff being the model like ford taurus laganda tiraf so what is uh laganda?
You may be wondering. Well, this is Aston Martin's luxury brand. They have owned it since the 40's and it has There have been several Laganda models over the years, in fact at one point I reviewed the old school Lagonda from the 70's and 80's and it is one of my favorite videos ever the times I have filmed because the car is very strange and peculiar after it left in the In the early 90s, the Lagonda brand also disappeared, but Aston Martin resurrected it for this car to celebrate Aston Martin's centenary because nothing says 100 years of Aston Martin as a car from a different brand.
Anyway, that's the story behind Laganda, as far as Torath means. supreme luxury in arabic initially the plan was to sell these cars only in the Middle East, where that name would make more sense, but they finally decided to sell a few more units globally and that's what it's called and then we move on to getting on the turoff a couple happen of interesting things when you open the door, for one the window goes down, a lot of cars do this to make sure the window seals to the car, but in this case it goes down quite a bit, several inches in front and it's the same in the rear, open the door, the window goes down several centimeters, the Aston Martin repeater sedan also did this, but you don't normally see it that often, of course when you close the door the window goes back up and that's formed .
Seals against the bodywork to keep out water. The other interesting thing that happens when you open the doors is that they open. Aston Martin has swan-hinged doors, so they say, and they open a little further up than normal doors, both for viewing. cool and to help you clear the curbs so the door doesn't get scratched and you can see the look of those swan hinged doors from the front again, very distinctive, very Aston Martin, but for me the doors have an even cooler trick That's it, look at this. You know how when you park on a hill you open the door and then it tries to close again due to gravity or you park right next to a car and you want to open the door enough to get out but the door doesn't? stay in that spot, well the lawn gates will take a look at this, you open the gate and you can place it precisely where you want and it will stay exactly there no matter where you place it, no matter how far you open it, I think this is the trick cooler and all thanks to this little hydraulic system at the bottom of the door, you can see it there, that's what keeps the door exactly where you want to place it, it's a very nice feature and very luxurious, a good attention.
To detail from the turret, I'll start from the back because this is an ultra luxury car, so this seems like the right place to be. The first thing you notice when you come up here is that there is a lot of space. I recently reviewed the rapid. and it was tight in the back, you can't see this, I can practically spread out, there is a lot of room in the back of the grass, very different vehicle, that is partly because it is a foot and a half longer than a repeat and It looks like much of that extra length was trapped in the back seat for comfort, and it's not just the legroom that's impressive back here, it's the headroom, too.
I have plenty of room for my head when I sit back. I have at least an inch. or perhaps further up to the roof, one reason is that the roof actually curves upward to improve rear seat headroom. You can see that in the front it has a height and then it moves up in the rear so that the rear passengers have more headroom back here so they can be more comfortable, which is a nice touch of luxury that you would expect on a million dollar sedan and then speaking of the roof, on some cars you just have a cloth headliner, other cars have a little bit nicer material, but this takes things to a whole new level.
The headliner is leather and not just leather but hand stitched leather with this beautiful pattern from front to back and it is absolutely beautiful again. This isn't something you're going to touch or look at very often, it's just the roof, but they made it beautiful and that beauty and luxury translates to several other places in the back of this car. For one thing, take a look at the B-pillar. You've got this contraption here. This is a handle designed to help you get out. In the car, you put your hands on it, you pull it and then you can get up and go, of course, with a beautiful leather and aluminum finish, and when you're not using it, you can put it right against the B-pillar and it's magnetized. so it will stay in place and out of the way and won't hang or make noise.
It's quite luxurious and then speaking of luxury, this little piece between the seats is just an armrest, you can fold it down and when you have it folded. You can see that between the backrest there is a small open compartment that is for drinks or more specifically bottles and you can cool it, press this button and the refrigerator turns on in this compartment and that way you can keep your bottles cold to save them for later or make sure that they're cold when you get to wherever you're going, a nice touch on a very expensive car and the next touch of luxury here is the detailed work on the seats, not just the stitching, which looks nice but take a look. in this pattern in the center these circles and then little dots between them, very very beautiful, better than typical leather and stitching, which is already quite beautiful.
This is a gorgeous pattern that repeats in several places throughout the car. It looks really cool, but that's not the only thing impressive is the leather detail. How about the fact that the seat belt buckles are also covered in leather and also have contrast stitching, which is really impressive. These belt buckles have to be poor quality plastic to comply with regulations, so Aston Martin gets involved. They use them to hide the crap so everything looks nice back here, pretty nice and by the way, if you want to spend a million dollars on a

lagonda

teraf so you can use it as a family car with kids, you'll be happy to know that it has some benefits.
Back here for the kids, on the one hand, you have child seat anchors back here and one of them is behindthis panel with aluminum appearance. This beautiful panel you can remove and that's where the child seat anchor goes, which is probably the cutest child seat anchor hider. that I have ever seen, of course, you can also see on the backs of the front seats that you have iPads mounted here, obviously these iPads are not Aston Martin iPads, but this car offers this little clip behind the front seats so you can place an iPad, a tablet so that your children in the back do not get bored while you drive.
A nice touch and another kid-friendly element here in the fold-down center console. You open it and you can see that there are two different ones. USB ports so you can charge those iPads if you want or any other device your kid might be using while you're driving them around in million dollar luxury, and speaking of the center, next we move on to the central control area which, interestingly, It's more or less identical to what you'll find in the repeat, basically everything here is exactly what you'll find in the rear of the repeat, right down to these fixed vents that are raised and pointed at the rear seat passengers and the strange heated seat setting where you press the button for the heated seat and then turn this little dial to turn on the seat and then press the button again to switch to the other seat and turn the dial to turn on that seat and it's very strange but I guess which works and here you have the strange quick temperature setting for the climate control, where you can press mode to bring up a thermometer and then move the dial to adjust the temperature, but it doesn't actually tell you what temperature you've selected. just that it's higher or lower on the thermometer again, very strange, but all these things are taken straight from the replay, now this shouldn't be a big surprise, just a production run of 120 cars that they're not going to make completely. new switches, buttons and control panels, but I have to say that if you spent a million dollars on a legend and then repeated and couldn't tell the difference on the back, you might be a little disappointed, so to some extent it surprises me.
We see exactly the same thing in this small area and then we move to the front of the grass where we notice faster things, actually, just like in the back, the steering wheel is basically the fast steering wheel and the same steering wheel that is used in other models of Aston Martin. at that time, except in the middle, it says laganda instead of aston martin, in the vicinity of the steering wheel, it has the turn signal stock, the famous turn signal stock of the Ford Focus, which is literally used in the models of Ford because Ford owned Aston Martin when that signal stock first appeared.
It's even included in the million dollar fee, and sharing those parts with the Rapide and other Aston Martin models of this era also means sharing the navigation system, which is a Garmin navigation system newly adapted for use in the Aston Martin. I also complained about this on my Rapid. review and here it is again except now this car costs a million dollars it's crazy to see navigation like that on a car like this but it's just what Aston Martin had at the time it's all they had and that is what this car definitely doesn't fit. the beauty, the luxury of the laganda tour, that being said, there are some very interesting things here, some nice luxury touches that go with this car, like the key, for example, you can see this is the key, this rectangle that has this glass brick in the At the end you look at the brick and there is the Luganda logo.
Now look at this to start the car. You place the key inside this small slot in the middle that also has the Luganda logo. You press the key and push down on the Luganda logo, but then there it is. replaced by the luganda logo on the keys so you always have it there, regardless of whether your key is in the center or not and the car is on, that's great, the laganda logo always looks at you from the start button of the engine, another thing I like about this neighborhood is the push button transmission. I like the pr and d buttons right there, it helps free up some space on the center console where a traditional shifter would be and then another touch of luxury in this car, it has a nice bang and olefson sound system and When You start the car for the first time, you can see the speakers rise from the dashboard and then stay in that position and give you a musical experience.
They do it on the passenger side and the driver's side, you can see how they rise when the car starts and when the stereo is on, you turn the car off and the speakers are pulled back down so they are more flush with the dash until that you turn it on again and they go back up, which is a cool touch and then another cool one. The knock on this car is in the gauge cluster, which would be the tachometer accelerating in the wrong direction. This is a hallmark of Aston Martin. The tachometer and speedometer are opposite and it has a sleek and very distinctive look for Aston Martin.
The gauge cluster, by the way, is also beautiful, a beautiful, beautiful piece there and you can see that the speedometer is in kilometers per hour, that's because, as I mentioned, the cog was never sold new in North America, so this one got a kph speedometer when it was sold new and stuff. You may be wondering what exactly this is doing here. Well it is legal to import taraf into North America under the show or exhibition law which allows you to import certain very special cars if it is in the public interest to see them at shows or exhibitions and you can import your tariff for that reason and it has been legally imported and titled here in North America and the EPA approved it and even gave this car its own individual EPA fuel economy rating and that's how the grass came north.
America makes sense, but anyway, getting back to the beauty of this car, I want to go back to the stitching on the front. Beautiful stitching on the seats and this beautiful circular pattern in the center of the seats really looks beautiful. You also have that beautiful circular pattern on the center console again it looks very nice bordered with stitching everything looks beautiful here you also have the laganda logo stitched on the seats again it is not Aston Martin they are very picky about this Laganda you really won't find any Aston Martin logo nowhere on this car at least not on display.
Continue driving to that point on the center console. You can see this little silver circle. This is an ashtray that comes with this car. You open it and put your ashes in it. You can empty it. It's pretty simple. The interesting part. Does it say laganda at the top, not Aston Martin? There probably aren't many of these, maybe one made for each tarath. This is a very good accessory. Interestingly, in the vicinity of this ashtray there are some buttons here that are a little strange. one is the lock and unlock button, that's just this little horizontal button that you press to lock and unlock the doors, it's not very big and it's way out of the way for a lock and unlock button, but that's where it is, here too you have the button to open your trunk with this little button with a car, the trunk open, press that and that's how you open the trunk in the turret and with the trunk you open a couple of interesting items here, for one, it's a trunk very small for such a big car.
You don't really have a lot of cargo space here and if you look inside the trunk you can clearly see that the bottle cooler refrigerator intrudes quite a bit into the trunk space and if you throw something back there it could maybe damage that piece that sticks out a little bit, so which you should make sure to remember it's there when you put things in your tarot trunk, but the trunk is quite small, other than that it's not a very large cargo area, however it does contain an umbrella. As all new Aston Martins include an umbrella with the car, it rains a lot in the UK.
After all, the good thing about this umbrella is that it is not an Aston Martin umbrella, but it says Laganda. It is a special umbrella for the Laganda Taurath. that's cool and finally the last interesting thing in this area is how the trunk closes. You can just slam it shut, but it's not necessary. It is a soft closing trunk. You can get it close to where it's going to latch and then it's going to close automatically so you don't hit anything because that's not something fancy and beautiful and next, speaking of things that open on this car, let's talk about the fuel door that's on this horizontal panel and opens like this. one of the most beautiful places in the whole car to open the fuel door, you press this little button on the driver's foot, you push it and then the fuel door opens like this, the interesting thing here is that you can see that it doesn't have a cover . fuel system so there's no cap you unscrew it you just put the pump on you pump the fuel and then you close it and you drive around with your million dollar beauty and finally we move under the hood and you can see the engine of this car , the six-liter V12, as I mentioned. around 530 horsepower now interestingly the engine says aston martin not luganda this is the only place where the aston martin logo actually appears prominently throughout the car under the hood letting you know who built it the motor, although it is worth noting that on the small plate. that tells you who was the final inspector of this car that has a lagonda badge not an aston martin so it was actually just the engine they kept the aston martin on now as far as the performance of this car as i mentioned, It's about a foot and a half longer than a rapid, which is a huge number, but it weighs about the same, around 4,300 pounds, pretty heavy, but no heavier than the repeater despite its larger size. 530 horsepower v12 in a car this size 0-60 was around 4.4 seconds and a top speed of around 195 miles per hour, so even though this was the ultimate luxury sedan, it could certainly still perform and Those are the quirks and features of the Laganda Tiraff, now it's time to take it out on the road and see how it all drives. well driving tarot i always wanted to drive this car just to be around this car it is such a beautifully beautiful car just really spectacularly beautiful and today i have learned two things from spending the day with this car one is that it is even more beautiful than i thought I was like, I'm not kidding, this is a really beautiful car, it's quite impressive to look at this in public, it looks very different from anything else and it's really cool, but I think the other thing is worth mentioning. you're not paying for it, when I heard about grass I assumed it would have all kinds of equipment and crazy features and stuff and it would be like a ghost on steroids.
The truth is that it has a lot of fast and a lot of db9 here. At the end of the day, it has become clear to me that you are not paying for luxury as much as you are paying for rarity and style. You won't find another sedan as beautiful. Maybe you won't find another one of these. all over your country, no matter where you live, and to have something so unique and special is in itself pretty special and cool, and I think that's what people pay for when they buy this car, the engine is the same as a change fast. the rig is basically taken out of a db9, those things are pretty similar, it's a little bit bigger and, when you have the beverage cooler, that kind of thing, there are some benefits, but not a million dollars worth comes in the rarity of this car and it's you.
I know the value in the fact that there won't be another one and in the fact that it will probably hold its value pretty well because you'll never see another one of these on the road. Handling is good. It drives like a The repeat does, but I mean, it's not especially fast, that's not really what it is for the steering and handling, it's not incredibly fast, but ultimately this is a luxury car and that's not really the purpose. I will say that the gear changes are better than I expected. with an old single clutch transmission like this it would be slow it would be annoying um it's not really it's actually reasonably comfortable and acceptable in terms of the gear shifting world it feels smooth I would say as I have the car in sport mode, right?
Now even in sport mode it feels pretty smooth but it's not very high performance but the gear changes are comfortable it's not like it will hit you like an old maserati the interior of this car is a little better than what you get in a repeat or a db9 just Generally speaking, the sewing here is better, everything is a little more luxurious and higher quality, um, the stitching on the seats, the patterns, the roof, the sun visors, everything is a little better, but in reality you are paying a million dollars, it's like that. -off ferraris they are making for very rich people like eric clapton's, you are paying for the rarity, the specialty, the fact that no one else has one, a rapide is a pretty similar car when it was new, about a fifth of the money, but there are fast ones out there, you see them from time to time, now it's 50 great used cars, this will never be, this will always be a car owned by someone with exquisite taste, one of themost special, most beautiful cars that Aston Martin has ever produced and I really think it's probably the most beautiful four-door car of all time and that's the Aston Martin Lagonda Taraff technically just the Laganda Teraf.
This is a stunning car with beautiful styling and incredible rarity and is the most expensive sedan in the world. Is it worth a million? dollars, well, you don't exactly have a million dollars to spend now, do you? But if you had it, maybe you'd want this car so you could pull up to a stoplight in a phantom rolls-royce and mock the commoner next to you while driving around laughing anyway, now's the time to give the Turoff a Doug score starting with the weekend and style categories. I'm doing. This gets a 10 out of 10. I've never given a sedan a 10 before, but I truly believe that if anything deserves it, it's this one, this is the most beautiful sedan ever made.
Acceleration from 0 to 60 is 4.4 seconds and it gets a 7 out of 10. The handling is okay, it's a big car so it's not a sports car and it gets a 6 out of 10. The fun factor is okay, It's more about luxury and prestige than fun, but it's still fast and gets a 6 out of 10. The fun factor is also huge, except for the fact that not everyone knows what it is, it gets a 9 out of 10. weekend total of 38 out of 50. The following are the daily categories and features, it is a little behind without adaptive cruise and Garmin navigation and other drawbacks and gets a 5 out of 10.
Comfort is good, better than repeat, especially back and gets a 7 out of 10. Quality is excellent again, better than the Rapide, with more attention paid to luxury, still the reliability of the Aston is a little worrying and gets a 7 out of 10. Practicality is normal for a car like this one and it gets a 5 out of 10. finally value and this one is tough, you can have the same engine and performance and many interior parts in a quick for literally a tenth of the money, but the people who buy this want exclusivity and boy, the laganda. Still, it's a lot of money and earns a 4 out of 10 for an overall daily score of 28 out of 50.
Added up, Doug's score is 66 out of 100, putting the Lagonda here against other ultra-luxury sedans. This is not the best luxury sedan in terms of performance or luxury, but it is the most beautiful, the most exclusive and the most attention-grabbing, and for one hundred and twenty Laganda Taraf owners, nothing else will do.
