NQT Teachers Standards Evidence Folder l Teacher Complete Evidence Folder l Primary Teacher

Jun 08, 2021
Hello everyone, my name is Charlotte. I'm currently in my second year of teaching teaching a one year class so obviously last year I was in AQT and I built up a huge portfolio of

evidence

to pass my AKG year so I thought I'd do it. Check it out today and it will help any of you who are in the next year or are about to become aqt and to be honest it would probably help even trainee

teacher

s develop their portfolios of

evidence

for their degree as well I hope this video helps someone and let's get into it.

Here's the

folder

I chose and it's a nice, big blue lever arch

folder

with plenty of room for all my tests. As soon as you open the folder, I have my dividers, a quick trick for you. Did I actually put the dividers on a plastic wallet to make them bigger than plastic wallets? For example, this information is in a plastic wallet and normally they would hide the divisor, but doing this doesn't, so you can still see each divisor. Clearly the sections I have included are brain meetings, objectives and observations, cpd

teacher

standards

and then at the end observations and notes, I will go through each one now, but before that I have also just included the one page overview of teacher

standards

. so it's there to refer to when I collect my evidence, the first section is mental meetings and each week as nqt you will meet with your mentor to work on your goals and discuss what you achieved each week. um, I should have them weekly if so.

More Interesting Facts About,

It's not like that, so I would talk to someone about it because you try to get as much support as you can. I don't know if this year you'll need to do it via video chat or team meetings, but I would meet with my mentor. Every Tuesday after school and every week we filled out a form and printed them out and I have them all in my folder. I won't go into detail about each one. The second section is objectives and observations. All my tracking forms are stored here. the books are monitored or a certain topic, um, all of that would go in that section as well like nqt.

I got observed once a quarter so six times a year, well not the last two quarters because of covid but I was every time I was getting observed and then my mentor would fill out a form and put in all my positives and stuff to work on and my goals and that's all in this section so let's move on to this section I'll talk in more detail about what I have in it and this is My teacher standards are evidence so the first part I only have the version longer than the teacher standard so I have an overview in the first part and this is all individually mapped so it's there that I can refer to and then I use a package of dividers and standing teaching outline from one to eight and then the second part and each includes evidence for each, so I thought I'd go over what kind of evidence you might want to include.

This is not

complete

ly finished. I feel like I could have done it. I did a lot more, um, if Koba hadn't happened and if I was still in school all that time, but this is just what I have and it worked well for me, so teaching standard one is setting high expectations that inspire, They motivate and challenge students. So within this, one is to establish a safe and stimulating environment for students based on mutual respect. So what I did was take some pictures of my classroom, a lot of them I posted on Instagram, so I already had them.
Um, so my exhibits are a little bit Christmassy, how everything is organized and my exhibits are stimulating and it's a nice place for the kids to come every day, so just some pictures of my classroom, this source, by the way, I downloaded it from Daffon. .com, if you want to know, I also used it for my English exhibition. Okay, so the following information is my ratings and feedback monitoring form. This is how we set goals. ts1b sets goals that stretch and challenge students of all backgrounds, abilities, and depth positions, so this just shows that I'm setting appropriate goals and that everything was safe.
These are a couple of examples of how we used to set goals, writing goals and when they were achieved on their own, so they're just a couple of examples from My Children's Books, so ts 2, they promote good progress and results from the pupils, so what I have mainly done in this is provide evidence of the children's work and how they have progressed, and this is just a one to one example. intervention that I did with a child and this is something we do at our school, so that shows that I was working and helping them achieve their goals.
The next evidence I have included is this writing. This is actually the first writing that one of my students did last year in the first year, so that was the beginning of the first quarter and then I put the progress made since then and this was at the end of the third quarter, so that can see it and like any future employer or my principal or whatever, they can see the clear progress that she has made in my class, which is amazing evidence, and I have done the same thing with another child, so that is her first piece and that's how the writing has improved since then. so this is another example of people, um, like an intervention that I've done so that you can do more examples of work in class and there's a lot of evidence that you could provide for that, so now moving on to ts3, you first need to demonstrate good knowledge of the subject and the curriculum.
The evidence I've included is just a few photos from a Spanish assembly I ran as NKT. I wasn't expected to do one of these assemblies. I just wanted to show my subject knowledge within languages because I was really hoping to be a language. leader I am now, which is great, so here are some photos. I wrote a little blurb about what happened and just put notes on posters to cover the kids and then also for my knowledge of the science subject. I've done a couple of these cpd um so it's from imperial college london called contact out cpd.
It's really good if you want to have some extra cpd. It took me about an hour and a half. I would say you get a certificate at the end and they have all the different topics. that you would cover in each year group, so I did a couple before teaching the units, so it was very good evidence for my knowledge of the science subject. Now I've done some more CPD, but I've actually put it in my CPD folder. So if you put it in either of the two, the next one is ts4 which is planning and teaching well structured lessons, so the first evidence is a lesson that I planned and taught for both groups.
This was a really exciting lesson. I used a similar VR app and had a dinosaur appear in the classroom and caught it eating its crest and showed it to the kids and they went absolutely crazy. It was awesome, so these kinds of links to ts4e contribute to the design. and provide an engaging curriculum and then ts4b and promote children's love of learning and intellectual curiosity, which is why they were so interested in this lesson and really wanted to know more. These are just a few more images from the lesson. We basically wrote instructions for the dinosaur. about how to make your own crest seeds like your own crest so it doesn't get eaten for hours and I like the seeds trapped in the books of his and he was reading the instructions.
I took pictures after the lesson and it was a lot of fun to do. I actually put the plan here and, yeah, the whole thing here. I wrote a list of things I try to include in each lesson, tying them into well-structured lesson planning. Each lesson I ensure that work is differentiated effectively so that learning is accessible to everyone. there are extensions so that progress and learning are continuous effective uses of ta the children are actively motivated at the entrance and in each lesson there is a beginning and a plenary the next piece of evidence In fact, I have put some examples of my planning, as well that this only shows the structure of my lessons that I plan and it is very good evidence to include some different plans there they include as an initial plenary all the resources and that differentiation the next section is ts5 adapts the teaching to respond to the strengths and needs of all the students, so In this section I have included a lot about differentiation, so ts5 a is knowing when and how to differentiate appropriately using approaches that allow students to be taught effectively and then ts 5c talks about knowing how to adapt teaching to support different learners and different abilities, so this is an example of my planning that I have planned and resourced.
This is a maths week so I have included the entire week to show how my lessons continue and how progress is made and then also have examples of how I differ. In addition to weekly planning, I've also included some examples of how I differentiate, for example, on this day, this is an example of what the lowest skill did, then the medium skill, then the highest skill. This way, you can see how it differentiated itself. and then I also did another example of what my inferiors would have done with my average ability and then my superior ability and you can see how my superiors were working with my ta and it's not just my inferiors every time and then also this was like a gifted child and talented and an example of how he was challenged after doing the activity and look at this like it's amazing.
The next section is ts6. Make accurate and productive use of assessment, so here, in each quarter, we would assess the first year's conception words. and how many each child can read and spell, so this clearly shows the progress they are making from red and orange to now green and blue, which is fantastic and this is what we would do every term clearly. I don't have the final result. Three quarters have to be covered, but this is what it would look like and then it would spread throughout the year. This test is actually a post-assessment of the white rose scheme module we used and in fact 10 out of 23 of my students

complete

d grades so I wrote a list of all the kids who got full marks and the others It went really well too so I put some examples from their exams and then this is a more formative assessment and how I noticed that they made mistakes during their I worked and then I commented on this and we worked together afterwards well the old ts7 is managing behavior in a way effective in ensuring a good and safe learning environment.
If I bring this to you, this is just a list of some behavior management strategies that I use in my classroom. of course, I put a little picture of a tambourine, um, but yeah, this is a list of things, maybe I can make a video of behavior management strategies that work for me if you're interested in that, and that's what I put here and this. Also it's just a picture of one of the things I use in my class, it's like a light up whiteboard and I pasted a picture of myself on my bitmoji and when it was on I said do not disturb when I was working with groups, this is an example of a whiteboard rewards I was using with a child to try not to scream during lessons, so that if he didn't scream the entire lesson, he would get one star and then a certain amount of stars per day. receive a gift, um, so this is just an example of one that I've used.
I could have had a lot more picture evidence in that folder, but I just wrote it down on a piece of paper, but it would be a lot of fun to evidence it if I wanted to take the time to do it, so the last section is ts8 for Phil's broader professional responsibilities , so this just shows some additional things I've done for school during the year. These were photos of me in Spain in February. Wow, it feels like so long that I actually went on vacation, but I actually took a photo of the badge in different places in Spain and it was going to be used as an example for how far our school can travel and that was supposed to be for the easter holiday um and clearly that didn't happen because no one went anywhere during the easter holiday um so I just put some pictures here um these are a couple of things that I've personally done and inspired other colleagues to do, so this is some planning that I did with my class and then they used it for a low ability in a higher year group and I actually ended up working with that child during my enkei tea time and this was a bathroom scheme that I used in my class um so instead of these really gross lanyards that we used to use, they're like passes to go to the bathroom, I found them very unhygienic so I ended up using this and you turn it on when you go to the bathroom and then I can clearly see that guy. he's already in the bathroom, so you have to wait until the lights go out before you can leave.
It was really very effective. I'm not currently using this in my classroom just because it's covered and like I have to wash the switch so many times. times but I hope I can use that againsoon um these are some pictures that I just hid uh from this school tea party that I helped out at and I had a candy shop and I sold candy to raise money for the school um and these are some other pictures and my sister helped me a little bit and then I also put up some photos of similar cards and messages from parents.
This was an online article as if you could barely see it because I have covered so much of the post. You can tell, but a local magazine saw what our school was doing and they wrote a whole article about it and it was actually an event where I helped with the fifth years, so that shows that I was helping other year groups and doing some extra things. for school and life in general, okay, the second part is always a little difficult to achieve, um, forced evidence, I feel like it's just what you do, um, but I just did, at the end of the year, we liked it a list of things I had done to help the school or to do with your subject or different things, so I wrote a huge list of everything I did, extra things and that is then taken to the governors and it depends on whether Let's go up a pay scale and then just an email that your teacher sent me.
This is also just another little note from my principal about my reports and I like to get really good positive feedback on them so that's it. Evidence of Teacher Standards I've also included additional evidence because some things I really didn't know where put them in, so I put them all here and these are some photos of sturdy trays that I made going up. and beyond this was the lesson, I told them that I worked with the child in the older class doing the lesson that I planned and I wrote a little about it and then I put in some more cards and all the messages from other

teachers

or parents and Actually, It is very nice to keep them too.
I don't keep them all, but I gave some to my kids last year. The rest were specially filed in the trash bin. This was also something I did last year and every day. Just one week we had golden time and I would create a little golden time craft corner so I know but I really love crafts so these are just a few examples of what we did so bonfire night and then they had fireworks as glitter. like a lot of photos with the kids this was so much fun this is a photo of a kid's head and then we like to wrap it in mom's class and those of them did that for halloween and some remembrance day themed crafts and then a lot of Christmas too, okay this section is my cpd so this is where I put all my certificates and the things I've done.
This is an overview of the nqt program I have done and I have marked the ones I have done and it is just evidence of different aspects of the CPD. This was also an event I applied to and was accepted. It was a weekend away with my union and it was like a weekend full of CPD opportunities and like the entire hotel and everything was included. It was free and it was really good, so I put all the pieces of paper in this plastic wallet with all the cpd I made on the trip. This was a vape fair that I went to and was able to teach myself and I have a list of everything where is all the speakers that came and everything I included I also met an author at that event so I put it on there with a picture of me and she that was one of the books and we actually won some for our school which is great ok below are more cpd certificates from similar online courses.
This one was really good and we did it with White Rose. I think my school had paid for this and we all did it and it's about bar modeling and it was really really helpful um I also filled out the workbook um and I have this was one that I did before I went back to my bubble during covid and it's how to support a safe and successful return to school using the swan framework so that was really helpful too and then I have some like cpd from youtube that I did with the right sessions um some others there were some notes from the cpd and a lot These are just notes from when I had my nqt inductions and also went to a science. fair one weekend as

primary

science um, this was a cpd on climate change that I did, that's the science, I just put it here and in my ts3 section um, so that's what you've already seen, epilepsy training, asthma and then all my child protection training and then this is mine too sounds good um certificate of attendance this is just a certificate of achievement um that I passed my assessment which we had to submit and get it right and then this is also like a bunch of notes of all my different cpd staff training, blah, blah, blah, um, it's all here just to refer to if I want and to show you what I've done, it's actually a lot if you think about it, in the final section, ya We're almost there, these are just observations. and notes, so during my free time I tried my best to see a lot of different classes, observe different teachers, see their teaching styles, so here, the first part is just a learning tour that I did, I did one with the behavioral approach.
The management and I went around the whole school and dove into each class and looked at different behavior management strategies and then I got the notes from that too, these are some other notes from the lessons, I don't know why that won't let me. Move it so these are notes from my learning walk and then these are just some random lessons I've seen so year two maths year five science first year cricket year four maths another learning walk I've done, other keychains, a learning. world I've done, um, three observations of the year, um, so if you observe, just write down lecture notes that will help you anyway and then put them all in your folder as evidence to show that you are using your nqt effectively .
Once my nqt folder is complete, I'm now going to use this just to include evidence over the years. Now turn it into a complete teacher portfolio. I'll probably eliminate these sections and just take some evidence for my teaching standards. Any specific comments maybe and then I'll turn this into a full portfolio, so once I've done that, maybe at the end of the year I'll post another video on how I updated it, but that's my full nqt portfolio. Thanks so much for looking. and be sure to subscribe for more content. Good bye guys.
