May 29, 2021
We reviewed a lot of crazy

bike

products

in 2020, some were tasty, some were sticky and then of course there was the web blazer and there are always more today, we have some new

products

to check out, the first one is a helmet for your hands, geographic handguards . Attach it to your handlebars and block your knuckles from branches and foliage encroaching on any off-road trail you're riding, which is why they include this little axle collar to keep it from moving like that, you know, it moves back and forth. back if you tighten it completely. It doesn't hold to the bar or at least it doesn't hold to my bars.

When we tried to install them, we discovered that the axle collars were too big to use on my stock alloy bars and the expansion plugs were too small to work on. Pat's titanium bars are not that common, that's what keeps it from moving up and down. I think we've hit rock bottom, although with our soda can wedges in place, Pat would try out the geo handguards in the most demanding situations. Well, I guess this would have been me. so

find

your way down and I'll be there with the alligator to transport you back up, still quite safe.

More Interesting Facts About,

mountain bike products you won t find in bike shops...

Pat's impressive fall line through the lunar bushes was quite a spectacle and his hands came out unscathed. Handguards are actually a thing and these. They are probably the most robust you can get, but unless you are strictly riding unmaintained backcountry trails, these will be a bit much and the installation issues were disappointing to say the least, so you may want to wait until Please update if I am considering using them. This next product is just a Shimano bleed funnel, except it is made of stainless steel. Each purge cup is made from a stainless steel shot glass and a shoulder bolt that I drill by hand on a lathe in my garage and then tap a little. threads for the included plug and hold by hand.

This is easily the nicest purge cup I've ever seen, so we'll use it. The normal purge cup looks like this. It has a small plunger inside. It's plastic. They work well if I want to do a quick lever bleed, just screw this on. We're out of baby oil so I'm using Shimano mineral oil and you see the bubbles coming out when you're done, like this, you still have all this oil on. Honestly, I wish they would make the screw a little longer because I

find

myself reaching into the bleed cup. I honestly think this is the best gift for someone who works on their

s.

It's like a conversation piece that I don't even want to use, that I want to put on my shelf, it's something that they're not going to get themselves, it's something that they'll never have seen before, it's really unique and cool. well made and works, next is the boondo mount, a gopro mount that can be adjusted in any direction with the push of a convenient button, it looks great, it is a little heavy, let's try it while it feels solid and the idea is great . The boondo mount couldn't even keep our hero session stable, so I heard something while driving.
I think it's this movement here where it can be broken and on top of that it comes with a wrench where you can really tighten this. below, but that doesn't affect this at all since someone does this professionally and uses gopros a lot. I have ruined many shots due to cheap gopro mounts or imperfect gopro mounts. I'd say it's great for filming on a work table or something. like that, but not in an athlete's helmet, where it will surely wobble and make noise. Next up is the dnr kit tool which is a handlebar alignment gauge so when you install the stem and handlebars they can move independently of the wheel so it's up to you to align it correctly and everyone does it by eye, we've been doing it by eye since there were bicycles and then of course the next day you're riding the trail and you look down and you say it.
It looks like it's a little bit this way, so let's center it. It doesn't have to be totally perfect, but if you want to center it as much as possible, use this bottom part to line it up with the studs. It has to come a little bit this way it's perfect, yes they are, that really works. Sometimes you have a very demanding client, they may question you or insist that it is not correct, and if you use this indicator in front of them, you will argue. So the DNR Tool Kit does exactly what it promises in style;
However, most will still choose to approximate their bar alignment as we have been doing since the dawn of recorded history. Here we have the sound helm, a stereo system for your helmet that promises a private experience. outdoor listening experience, you don't want to be that guy with the bluetooth speaker on the trails, how's it going?, come up here, yeah, it goes like this, that's right, it's actually more solid than I expected, so this It's supposed to go back and forth with an adhesive, I guess you plug your helmet in, the whole helmet plugs in, the whole helmet plugs in for charging, yeah, plug in your dropper, plug in your helmet, that's pretty loud for you, is that?
No? It actually sounds good, it doesn't sound bad, yeah, if I was a bike length behind you pedaling, I wouldn't hear it, you know? Let's choose something that's not so aggressive if I slide next to you. No, I didn't realize, so you. You're telling me that a free hub body is more annoying than my music. We live in an age where you can get small standalone headphones with many hours of battery life for less than a hundred dollars, so the Sound Helm falls short with its three-piece cable configuration. and the $160 price tag still really appeals to Pat and he says he will continue to use this one to get around.
The bomber strap is a single bike tailgate pad that we've reviewed before and I actually ride with it, but version 2.0 claims to be better. in all areas so you put a bike on it and you tie the strap to it and now once you're done doing all this the tire still hits the car so in the original they included a strap to keep the handlebars like that and I missed. the belt, everyone lost that belt and you end up with a permanent mark on your car like the one I have here. The new bomber strap looks like it comes with the same strap so the new one is a little easier to tie, you just grab this piece here it locks magnetically and then you do that, when you want to take it off you just pull on it and it comes off .
It's actually a really very good system, while the new bomber strap is absolutely better than the old one. It's not as good a value compared to a full tailgate pad and is only really good for traveling in my opinion. It is a high-quality, well-designed product that only a select few people will find useful and I am one of them. The next two products were packaged together, there is a simple shower which is a shower head that connects to a soda bottle and then the shower robe which leaves me stumped. I'm still trying to figure out what this is for so I stand inside this so people can't see my genitals and then I can just wash like there's no problem.
I guess if you just want to take a shower from up here, I don't think this is a good product for

mountain

bikers. I think it could be. a good product for

mountain

bikers and a squash screen so you can hide behind your car door or hide behind a tree or something if you don't have access to a car or a shower you're in the woods what you need? this because they apparently included a bunch of instructions and a link to something about a shark tank, maybe they would demonstrate more useful applications there. 2020 was a pretty tough year, but one bright spot, at least for me, was trying all these strange products.
I hope you learned something today or at least had a little fun with all these products. I hope most of you are off work or school spending some time with your families waiting out 2020 thanks to Pat and Squatch bikes for being on your feet. For me while I heal, thank you for traveling with me today and see you next time, who sends you these things? This is serious stuff here, so you think gloves will protect your hands, look at this, even if I get injured and don't keep up. The trails here are pretty clear, so what I'm thinking is that you could pick a path in the moonlight and just go shred this one's low, that's high, I tried my hardest, oh it's good though see you quite standing.
