Reviewing a Fresh Batch of Weird MTB Products

Welcome back to Burn Peak. I'm Seth and today we're going to do something a little different, but pretty much the same. We have a container full of

products

submitted by entrepreneurs and inventors who saw the channel and wanted me to review their

products

. so I'm going to dig into this container and try each one of them and tell you what I think of it, let's get started, so let's look in our products container, this is the first one where the dib bottle is supposed to be. a better water bottle is a water bottle to store your mountain bike we have this little bracelet that goes around it it slides you can put water in here and you can put whatever you want in here I imagine your car keys, your wallet, your inner tube , whatever you want to store immediately.

I can see some problems with this, first of all, it's 10.8 ounces, less than a can of Mountain Dew or whatever beverage you choose, which really isn't enough for a trip, so let's fill it up and see if it's any good, so I I filled it with water and was able to measure a little more than 11 ounces which I could fit in the smaller one. This is their largest bottle, which is closer in size to what you would normally use, but still. You only put water in one part, so let's see how much it holds for 16 ounces.

I'd say it's enough for a few laps at the bike park. A full bottle like this. I measure almost 27 ounces in this bottle, that's enough to really. Go out and get in trouble. I have some items here that you could bring with you. The car keys. like tighten it, oh, it's going to be very difficult to get it out, it's like now we're filling a lot, so not in the wallet, right, we have our multitool, we're just going to put it in here and now we have my car keys and we're almost to the maximum, there is no more room for anything else.

This design where they divided the bottle this way, I guess they did it so you could fit something longer in it, but I think you could save it. a lot more things if you cut it this way and have it all in one piece, in my opinion it brings nothing to the table, I think I would prefer more water, so for me this is kind of a No, but for those of You guys looking for something like this, a little bit of extra storage, there's the dip bottle, so we recently did a review of a bunch of different handlebar phone mounts that hold your smartphone on your bike etc.

I guess Ram Mounts thought it would be a good idea to send me their mount, so let's take a look at it and see if it's any good. There is a piece of rubber with adhesive backing. We also have two flanges. tie this to the handlebars, this is like something out of a 1970s spaceship, okay let's go to the bike and unpack this, so they want to do it with zip ties, we'll hold it down real good and now we have the ram mount here, let's put my phone on it okay that seems pretty safe let's take it out on the road and see if it is so I'm up here with the ram mount I'm about to do some jumping and that's actually throw it away a softball because jumps with good transitions have less impact than traversing a rock garden or making trails, so if it doesn't hold up to the jumps it won't hold up at all, so let's hit the whale tail and see how it goes.

We didn't get very far and exactly what I thought would fail, the zip ties just started sliding like this, yeah not so good. You know, what I really could have used on that trail is the web jacket because it's been a few days. since I rode it and mastered it but I used to work on cars and ram mounts were the industry standard but what works on a police car doesn't necessarily work on a trail bike I could really use that web jacket . It is bulky, heavy, difficult to install, not very secure. I wouldn't even recommend it for a road bike because you can get any of those other products cheaper that were reviewed in the other video, so if you're looking for a phone mount I suggest watching that video.

I'll put a link below for our next product to be a tool and workshop related product. This is a magnet that you can place in different places to hold tools, bolts and screws. Let's look at the little one first, so he feels very good. It's soft, it goes in your pocket and then I guess you could stick metal things in here and wow that's pretty strong, in fact it surprises me because it really feels like a piece of foam, it's not heavy or anything and It has a surprisingly strong magnet. let me see if I can hold tools that's my choice that's cool I'm like impressed right now I'm going to try some heavier items oh my gosh it's really there too no way that's crazy it's really there it's like the more The larger and thicker the metal piece is, the better it sticks.

I hope this starts to improve a little in the next one. Print Grips Custom Moldable Grips Hot Grip Ride, so I'm going to go out on a limb and say you heat these grips, squeeze the hot grip and it molds. Your hand then cools and stays molded to the shape of your hand and that's supposed to give you a better grip, so let's see if that's the case, even if these don't end up being very good grips, it's like a fun science project. . What to do with your kids, okay, here comes the reveal, it actually feels really good, it reminds me a little bit of ergonomic grips, how they are shaped to fit your hand, so I'll mold the left one, install it the same way. same way and then I guess we can take it out for a test.

They feel pretty good. I like them, but I definitely don't like them any more than the Ergon grips. I don't like them any more than their Rev grips. What I don't like is how rubbery they are. The rubber is I like a tougher rubber feel to the grip so I don't think these are for me, but they are not a bad product, the process by which they are molded is quite well thought out, they are just not for me. I want to put my ergons back on, okay, we're back in the produce bin. I just hope we find more good things today.

This is the squat screen. I can't tell you how many times I've been at a trailhead and had to change clothes or something and I know they make these big curtains and things for the tailgates of pickup trucks and stuff like that, but I don't think I've seen anything marketed like that. this way, so let's see how difficult it is.
