I Painted an Entire Outfit (Pt. 1)

May 31, 2021
Hello, it's me, the

outfit

I'm wearing is very simple, right? It's okay because I'm wearing rainbow earrings to spice it up, they're actually pretty heavy. I'm a little worried about the holes in my earrings. What if they get? extended also the point of this video is to try to see if we can do this no this there's nothing we can do about it this a little more interesting interesting interesting I'm going to paint my full set some of that you can I don't see it, but it's down there . I've had this idea for a while. Insert evidence here.
i painted an entire outfit pt 1
It would be a cool video if I

painted

a full set. Yes, and you guys have been repeatedly reminding me to move on with it real quick, even though I do. There are some new products coming out very soon that I won't show you in depth, but they will be launching in a new online store. The link will be in the description. There is a mailing list you can join and if you sign up. We'll be able to access the products sooner and the website has this cool feature where the more we subscribe to the mailing list, the more the designs will be revealed anyway, what do we have here to paint a jean jacket and a white t-shirt?

More Interesting Facts About,

i painted an entire outfit pt 1...

I'm at the counter again, this is what I have to do because I don't have a cameraman so I just have to move my body instead of the camera, black shorts and white vans. I'm going to paint everything with my goal. This set is to create a unique and interesting piece for all of them, but also create a cohesive set that looks great in the end. I'll figure it out. I think I'm ready. Let's do it starting at the top of the stack I have. this pair of white vans and a pair of shoes in the past, but they were actually a knockoff brand.
i painted an entire outfit pt 1
I prefer these because they have a pure white sole, while the knockoffs had this black stripe around it, okay, cut the label off and Come on, I'm using some vinyl tape to protect the un

painted

areas well. None of the areas are currently painted, but why am I having difficulty? Since I chose to paint the shoes first, they will set the tone for the

entire

outfit

. the whole vibe is at play here no pressure no no come back okay i need a little inspiration don't go any further than this this is what it's all about a beautiful shiny and delicious liquid it's paint and this turns out to be angelus brand leather paint, but anyway Of course, many artists in general love what they can do with paint, but do they love the paint itself?
i painted an entire outfit pt 1
Do you love the painting because of who it is? um, I love paint, paint in its raw form, I would swim in it if I could I would eat it if it weren't something extremely damaging and very powerful, so while I'm making some adjustments to my custom colors, I'm thinking why don't I use the painting as inspiration for the overall theme of my set? drawing some little drops on the shoes, nothing too crazy, just some simple drops, now paint goes in, paint goes into shoes, comes out of a shoe, so you can tell by my hesitation.
I don't really have much of a plan here. I'm just going to write. or go for it and see what happens, just feel the paint capture the essence of the painting with the paint, what the hell are you talking about? I've made a couple of decisions here, we have multicolored blobs oh it's happening and some strange snake-like creatures are developing and it's starting to turn into some sort of liquid psychedelic vibe. Let me take you on the journey through my idea process, just come with me for a second, no, yes, you'll come with me. I considered several ways I could capture paint.
I could be very literal and just paint paint like I've done before. I could go completely abstract and just spread paint everywhere without a care in the world. It's another way of painting paint. Really, if you think about it, oh. Boy, the word painting doesn't even sound like a word anymore, but I felt like going in either of those two directions would end up being too repetitive throughout an

entire

set, so I thought maybe I could do something in between. drips because you know paint makes drips wear a lot but I can't help but love the look of drips, that makes me basic maybe I don't care although there are many different ways you can incorporate drips into a design without being super repetitive, so to tie the whole thing together, I'll use drops in some way on each piece and two will use a consistent color palette, which is all colors, since I didn't really plan this beforehand.
It was like watching it unfold before my eyes. I don't love this. There is a strong disgust that gets stronger and stronger, but even though I was silently panicking at how ugly it looks, I keep going. It's giving me like this. my stomach is giving me playdough vibes makes sense to anyone maybe not? I'm trying to explain it, okay, the way I see it, there's a fine line between something that's just bright and colorful and a real annoyance, new word, new word, it's mine. and this was just creeping over that line for me, I mean, really horrible, maybe the color choices are the problem, I thought we had something special and then they do this, guys, what the heck, so I tried desaturating and lightening the yellow, lighten blue, lighten pink lighten green I always forget that this paint dries much darker so I should have adjusted for that in the first place.
Can we fix this? I tend to use pastels when I do a lot of colors because I feel like the colors are a little lighter or more toned down, you can use a lot of them without it being that level of hate, but somehow I couldn't shake the feeling that a color was missing while I kept thinking, oh, this isn't the full rainbow of colors, is it? red on yellow green blue violet yeah it's not it can't be oh but that's okay I think this is a big improvement it still needs a lot of work here we go.
One thing I'm noticing is that it looks runny but it's not runny enough oh here it is this is the pioneer I decided to add more drops throughout the design instead of just having them at the bottom and I think that really helped with this kind of painterly vibe that I'm looking for. becoming more runny, so after I quickly touch up and paint the white areas, I'm going to add a bunch of highlights to get that real juiciness, juice, juicy juiciness, um, that I'm looking for, wow, wow, okay, I think I Hate this. I'm going to paint over it and start again.
I'm just kidding. This is the other shoe. Did I fool anyone right? I tried, but no. I'm going to do the same with the other shoe. I was thinking. about hydro-immersion, you know, like creating a hydro-immersion sensation without actually immersing myself in the water, obviously, I suck at it anyway, who needs it? Oh look we're already in the awkward phase, it looks more like a rainbow camo which is definitely not what I was going for but that's okay because once it's all together I really like the look of it and that was a setback , thank you.
Okay, it definitely reminds me of the kind of art I used to make as a kid. I was actually a teenager when I did all that stuff that looks like it was done by a kid. I was resisting the urge to add outlines or shading because I think the flat graphic type of style is what will look best here and even though I wanted to do more. I'm going to resist the temptation to be very good. You're almost done, it's time to remove the tape. Oh boy, I bring my finisher and spill it everywhere like usual.
Oh, working to get that crunch out. my brush, uh-huh, does anyone really take proper care of their brushes? Let me see that person. I need to talk to them. Here are the finished shoes. I love them. I would totally wear them, although at the time they got a little dirty. I may be a little outraged because there's nothing in these I don't like, so don't mention anything or ruin them. Let me live in blissful ignorance of any defects. Thank you. The next piece in the pile are these black ones. shorts and this is actually a pair of my shorts that I just pulled out of my closet, hence the cat hair, they are the perfect length, not too long but no hanging cheeks because I'm not really into that trend, the I'll follow my cheeks in my shorts thank you they also have some really nice pockets I see you I see you there that's actually what I'm going to focus on so I'm quickly taping tape around these pockets so we can keep the Design clean and I'm going to decorate the pockets.
I'm starting with a white paste, just drawing a line. Now it's clear to me that I need to use a ruler. Yes, let's do it. I'm creating lines and more lines and then I try. to plan how I'm going to paint it very scientific don't bother me now apparently this line wasn't right you've crossed the line I have two pieces of cardboard and I slide them inside my shorts just in case there's a leak Oops, don't take that out of context and I'm using the same paint that I used on my shoes, let's start, oh let's stop, now I realize that using pastel paint on black fabric, yes, no, I'm going to need to do a white base coat first, it's much easier to paint one layer of white instead of doing a million layers of each color at the beginning.
I was trying to preserve where my lines were that won't last. Here I am using the leather paint. pretty thin, so I'm going to paint this side with my white fabric paint and we'll see who has better coverage, so it looks like even though the leather paint is much easier to work with with fabric paint, it has much better coverage, everyone They have their strong points. Nobody has everything and everyone has something, so I'm just going to pour a coat of fabric paint on there and now it's time to dry to get those lines back, get the color back and try again, so I'm filling each shape with a different color using the exact same colors as my shoes no oh good job well done that's ok I'll fix it later let me tell you just because I'm painting a full outfit an outfit or my outfit here that doesn't mean I'm going to paint every inch of every item of clothing.
I'm just going to paint the pockets on these and that'll be it because I think it would make the clothes too stiff. You want to leave some of the fabric unpainted so that it's still fabric and not just a solid sheet of paint, except for the shoes, because you know the shoes are a little stiff anyway. Wow, that's sloppy. The shorts definitely have a different style than the shoes. Hopefully everything will turn out well in the end, obviously this. It's a mess so it's time to go and fix it all with the second layer coat coat shorts coats over shorts there's a joke there but I can't find it now I'm the joke that looks better on the other side yeah It's just that it was always like this easy This is my black paint This is me pouring my black paint Okay, I'm outlining all the shapes in black that I thought would look cool since the shorts are black, it might make the pockets feel a little more connected to the shorts instead of looking like blocks of color floating in front of them, you can tell there's something missing here, the drips, I said I'd incorporate drips and I'll leave your shirt on, calm down first, I'm going to do some touches.
Oops covers up some little mistakes I've made now it's time for the drips so I'm going to make the black lines drip maybe I should have made the drips a little bigger because they're pretty small and maybe when you take a step back, it won't look as drippy. I was satisfied enough to move on, so I'm going to remove the tape. Unfortunately, it didn't leave the best finish. Luckily, I can re-cover that with black paint and fix anything. messy spots, oh look, fixing my little mishap there, it's like it never happened. It will look better when it dries.
Well, here are the shorts, they're not my favorite of all the things I'm going to do, but they're great. and different, I definitely won't hate them, hopefully when it all comes together they'll be the perfect little puzzle piece on the t-shirt, what's there to say about that? It's a shirt, it's white, it's wrinkled, but, yes, let's paint. It's pretty thin so I definitely need to put a layer in the middle so the paint doesn't seep through. I actually taped it in place so we don't have any scrolling nonsense happening with some complex calculation, ah-ha, okay. I stick a couple of pieces of tape in place, opening my entire paint container onto the pristine white shirt.
I'm scared so I'm painting stripes on this shirt because I'm actually a little obsessed with shirts that have colored stripes, I don't. I even know how many shirts I have like that, too many, so I wanted to make a shirt like that, but in my style, part it down and let it dry, no, I'm not waiting, I'm just going to move on, I was going to wait for the pink to dry and then tape over the pink stripes to make sure each stripe had a perfect line, but I ended up not having the patience for the next color, you'll never guess, that's right, it's green, okay, no, originally in my head when I was thinking about painting my entire outfit.
I wanted to use the shirt as a centerpiece. You know, it's an incredibly complex design, but I realized that the shirtIt will be the most difficult to paint because the material is very thin. get really caught in the fabric and the fabric starts to wrinkle and make it harder and also the thinner the fabric the more the paint will affect the feel of it, it will definitely harden if I ever paint a t-shirt again. I'm hoping to find a brand that makes a heavier shirt so I don't sound like a grumpy old man, but they don't make shirts that way.
They used to accept shirts nowadays, they're so thin anyway, the stripes were made, we're definitely putting some stiffness in the shirt, rigor mortis is setting in, let's just remove this and there we are, you're so tense, now it's time for the drips, so I'm making each color drip into the other stripes. Some people ask me why I use pink in a rainbow instead of red and isn't that a downgrade of the rainbow? I don't think anyone has really used word degradation because no one takes rainbows seriously, just me, the answer is very simple, I often make pastel rainbows and pink is the pastel version of red, although pastel red is a color Different than pink, this is pastel red, which is red and orange mixed together, but that doesn't make much sense to me because the pastel version of any other color is just what you get when you add white, add white to blue, you get pastel blue , you add white to green, you get pastel green, but suddenly, to make pastel. red instead of adding white you add orange what is there someone still here listening to me?
Well, and my favorite part is the highlights that really make them pop and come to life. It's tearing off the paper from the oh oh, well, I put it there. Now like I said I wouldn't recommend painting over a super thin shirt that you plan to wear regularly, the painted area feels weird visually, I really like it, even though it's simple, I really, really like it, I'm totally going to do it. I'm turning this t-shirt into merchandise just because I need it in my life, so there's one more item to paint and it's a big one, but I didn't have enough time to paint everything and finish editing this entire video in a week.
If you're watching this in the future, you can click the link above to watch part two; otherwise you'll have to wait until next week to see how I paint the jacket and how the whole outfit looks. I'm really excited about the jacket, it's kind of the star piece and it's going to be the most complex, so I hope they come back next week, thanks everyone for watching and I'll see you next week, bye.
