Customizing Hydro Flasks

Feb 27, 2020
foreigner Hello, it's me today I'm going to paint something surprise and this is actually something that has been trending recently. I'm a little late though, which isn't surprising. I have trouble keeping up with trends because I'm hard to keep up with. Follow the trends, okay, let me go get the thing, where is it here? No, here it is, it's a Hydro Flask, for some reason these have been all over the place in your face, popular, it's a water bottle, not sure why it's too expensive. What we like these days are water bottles, but the good thing is that people paint them to personalize them, that's where I come in, which is great because I love painting and decorating things, so I actually have two. these ones, so I'm going to paint them both, the other one is over there, I can't reach it, so I'm just going to throw my Hydro Flask design into the mix, so let's do it, here are my little Hydro Flaskies, ew and me.

I'm just exploring the product trying to figure out what makes these things so special. If a genius is going to come out doing a terrible job removing the label. I guess I won't be able to read that it comes with a straw, which I actually didn't know the surprise, plus they give you a replacement straw and you can just flip it over and sip it right there, so let's get down to business, the paint for the first bottle. I'm going to use this, oh I'm peeling my skin. Just kidding, it was just glue. I was playing with slime, so this is kind of a medium grade acrylic paint.

More Interesting Facts About,

customizing hydro flasks...

I already have a bunch mixed in this container, but I'm going to go ahead and add a bunch of white paint. I'm not doing a pastel rainbow design. I just wanted to create a lighter version of each color I'm going to use so I can use it for the highlights. Well, here we go. I'm going to tape the stainless steel. uh, Rim, because I don't trust myself not to get paint all over myself, so now I'm ready to start designing this and this is where I start trying to be very precise, suddenly I'm acting like this is a complex calculation.
customizing hydro flasks
I'm just creating a line around the bottle and I just want to make sure it stays level and doesn't end up crooked because that's definitely the kind of mistake I would make. I want to create a sunset look on top, so I'm painting a nice pink, orange, yellow, green and blue gradient that's a rainbow, no it's not a rainbow, it's a sunset, kind of a low rainbow the sunset. I'm painting the ocean, do you like it, I made that sound effect myself. I'm going to keep the logo. visible I probably paid 20 extra just for that logo so I might as well keep it, but I'm going to go over the words at the bottom, we don't need them and those will just interrupt my design more than anything so you can Eat Now, one thing that What I noticed pretty quickly is that the paint scrapes off the bottle very easily, so this happened, which surprised me a little because I hadn't seen anyone else mention that, but it was definitely something I had to constantly be on. conscious of making sure to be very gentle when handling this, so once I finished one side I had to turn it over and then do my best to try to make it a perfect connection, it was a little difficult because the paint was obviously already It was dry. on one side so we have to mix the wet colors and then mix the wet paint with the dry paint, but I'm handling it so I have a rough start to the background all the way around and now I'm just going to focus on the front and I'll start incorporating more details, so I'm doing an ocean scene.
customizing hydro flasks
I thought it was really clever because you know it's a water bottle and then the ocean is water, but after I started this. I started looking more and more at what other people were doing in their Hydro

flasks

and like 50 of them have some kind of ocean involvement work, well done everyone, so yeah, no not that original but actually I'm doing an under the sea scene that I haven't seen see scene scene scene um yeah we can also appreciate how the Hydro Flask logo looks like it's jumping out of the water so as usual I'm making this design up out of my mind head.
There's always a good risk of making something that just looks lifted, for example, these mountains here are supposed to be waves. I think they are too straight up and down, so I tried adding a little curve at the top. so that they communicate their waves, they are not mountains, say hello, I think it helped a little, but now they remind me of Gonzo's nose from the Muppets. I went down to the bottom of the ocean and this was quite a trip, what the hell? What am I doing down there? There are those buttocks that I see.
Don't act like you don't like them. You know yes. I think I was just smearing paint around in the hopes that it would eventually show right now. Things are about to get better. Well, I'm drawing some little sea creatures very carefully so as not to scratch the paint completely, so I got my first email account when I was 11 and chose my Orange Fishy password, clearly the most secure password of all. Little did I know that now, 14 years later, the orange fish is alive, what the hell? Anyway, you can notice that I ended up putting some parchment paper down because the paint on the back of the bottle kept sticking to the pink paper and it was pulling on the paint.
I removed the paint so the parchment paper was there to prevent that from coming back. happen. I added some standard ocean creatures. Here we have a clownfish, a jellyfish, a goldfish, a seahorse, an orange fish, so I can see the Hydro Flask being a good one. Handmade Product I don't really understand why there is so much hype behind this specific brand and it's not because I don't like usable water bottles. In fact, in high school I had this water bottle that I carried to school with me every day. It was like my son, people were always stealing him from me as a joke.
This was before it was fashionable to carry reusable water bottles. It ended up taking quite a beating, so I had to get rid of them over the years. I've had new water bottles, but I never found one that was all that special to me, so let's recap. I told you a story about my first email account and about a very interesting water bottle, huh? Very interesting. I think I'm going to try to sell the rights to the movie very soon, you know what this underwater scene reminds me of that squishy planet I painted with the underwater scene?
Of course, that scene was done with fabric paint. I can get a lot more details. With this one, since I'm using acrylic paint, I added a bunch of little bubbles which I think really helped create more of that underwater look I was going for, but wait, there's my plus, despite handling this thing like it's a damn baby newborn, it's still there. I scratched myself I guess I'm a shitty babysitter, I'm not going to lie, this became funny at this point because I basically had to do it all over again like I just did this, why are we doing it again?
Just hang in there, so I've actually been noticing these Hydro Flask painting videos for a while. I think this all started on Tick Tock before spreading to YouTube. However, I'm not sure because I don't actually have a tic tac currently. I keep getting that question. Whether I have a tick or not, no, I don't do anything. Actually my account will be linked in my channel and in the description so if it's not there then it's fake, maybe in the future I'll get one. It only took me three years. start posting on Instagram, so maybe if I tick now in three years I'll start posting, but anyway painting a Hydro Flask has been on my list of video ideas for months, this is part of the reason I'm always late to trends because I always have a million ideas for videos I want to make and they just keep receding into the distance, plus I get stuck in my own little world doing random shit, you know, There are trends afoot. here, let me be the first to point this out, this looks a little strange, she is not the most attractive girl, we can't all be beautiful.
Now I turn to the front and I am using a paste pen to clean. the logo because I just made a mess at this point and signed my initials and now I can remove the outer tape and seal the paint. I'm going to use this liquitex varnish, this is definitely a critical point. step because without the varnish this paint job would last two full days before completely scratching so I'm making sure to cover every inch really well and now it has to dry somehow. I have a plan so I tied him up in my closet if you kidnap someone where would you probably hide him in that closet this is actually my mail closet.
Now I realize I could have left the lid open and then turned the bottle upside down, but let's pretend I'm really clever for doing it this way, I actually applied four thick coats of varnish because I really don't want this paint to chip, oh yes you will need a lot of protection to see the final results so I am very happy with how it turned out this one took a long time but it was worth it. I love the color and the details look great except for that. I don't know who it is, I'll say that after all the effort and time I put into this.
I'm going to find it very difficult to use this. I will be very tempted to just leave it on my shelf and leave it for display because the moment something happens to the painting, my heart will break. Hey, I have something. for you today I have a new product this is putting out the words this is the cutest product let's not let the pickles steal the show because he has a tendency to do that here it is oh my god oh my god oh my god oh my god oh Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, this is the baby hamster design based on this squishy I created in my makeover series, you guys remember this one.
I feel like it's like my personal project because it was one of my favorite makeovers and I just love this design so much that I really wanted to see it come to life and I'm so pleased with the results. It looks so cute. The colors are so amazing. Is so big. Baby. Also, this shirt is new. Additionally, we have the Half Sleeve and Half Sleeve so you know it is designed by me. If you want to purchase one of these, they are available in my store, but this is a very limited quantity. We have a third of these, like we had with the pickle plush and that plush.
They sold out in less than a day, but I have no way of knowing how long it will be available because it really depends on you and whether or not you would like to invest in a baby hamster. However, the t-shirts are available indefinitely as I have done. I've explained in the past that the manufacturing process for something like this takes months, so if it goes out of stock, I have no idea if it will be back in stock, when it will be back in stock, when I know you'll know, let's get back to

hydro

power.

flasks

, okay, we still have a whole new adventure ahead of us, so this one will be quite different in style from the last.
You'll notice from the beginning that I'm doing a lot more sketches than the first one. The thing to note about the bottle is that the pencil will get very blurry, very blurry, so that was a little annoying. It's almost like they didn't make these bottles to actually paint and color them, although these are really good opportunities to personalize them, I mean. I know they offer a few different colors for the hydraulic flasks, but they are all pretty basic, so it's a really good opportunity to make it your own. Make something personalized. You may have already realized that I'm basically making a giant food collage.
I wanted to go a little more cartoony for this design, so for this bottle I'm going to use pasta pens, which is what most people use to decorate them. In fact, I wanted to try both traditional acrylic paint and pastes because I have to experiment. Everything is beautiful, so this has been happening to me recently. My paste pens randomly exploded everywhere. I tried to cover up the stains that were left on the paper. This is me when I get a pimple. Put it in that cover. above, it's still visible darling, now the thing about paste pens apart from the fact that they can be extremely rude from time to time, okay it was an accident, is that one coat is never enough.
You can see the color is very uneven, so I'll have to do that. go over everything at least twice to get good coverage and it's not like a brush where you can just sweep large areas quickly. These tips are pretty good so it takes a while to cover larger areas so this took a long time especially as there are a lot of little shapes to fill poscas and I've had our ups and downs oh beautiful oh little beauties I still love them oh okay finally covering that nasty diarrhea if you're curious about any of the supplies I'm using In this video I'll leave a list of links below so if you want to try it yourself you can see what I'm using and know where to buy things.
At this point, I was a little overwhelmed by how much there was to do. There are many of them and there is only one of mine and I regret it a littleto have created such a detailed design over everything, but take it one at a time, oh yeah, that's when Jordan walked into the room every time he walks in, it's scary. What the fuck me, I think I've had like five mini heart attacks. I get so focused on what I'm doing and I get lost in my thoughts, so the first layer is done and this is kind of a mess, so now.
I can do this again with a second coat. I was hoping by some miracle that Posca paint wouldn't be as brittle as regular acrylic paint, but it's the same, it scratches off pretty easily. I had to be very careful. watch out for this finally this is starting to look a little better things are cleaning up the colors look stronger and brighter and there everything is nice, clean and colored appropriately now this is the part that made me crazy adding all the little details the work It was so much fun. It was definitely what I enjoyed the most about this entire process.
I don't know why I was having so much fun with this. I love to draw or paint. Drink is the word. How could I forget to drain? the little reflections and the little textures and the sparkles made everything really start to come to life and look a lot more like it should and I'm really starting to like it so it looks pretty good but a lot of it is like it doesn't stand out what enough and it's a little hard to see what's going on here, so I decided to outline everything in black, this just appears randomly.
Oh hey, I think this black outline really helped bring this all together and organize it a little bit. more I really like how all these different food designs came out once I finished outlining again, I went in and cleaned up the logo and then I applied about four coats of varnish over this so it was nice and protected, so from my basic Hydro Flask I loves. how it looks as much as the first one. I was a little worried that this would look bad halfway through. I felt like it just wasn't going to fit, but it did and it looks great.
I love it. It is food. I clearly love it, we can see some very similar designs right in the background. Wow, there were definitely some hiccups in this process, but I'm super happy with it overall. I can't pick a favorite between these two. I really like them both. We'll post a poll for you guys in case you want to insert your opinion and we can see what the general consensus is on which design is better, but I hope you enjoyed this video and really like what I came up with. of work but I'm very happy with what I've done, so thanks for watching and I'll see you next Friday, bye.
