I Bought A WRECKED 800-HP Supercar You've Never Heard Of

Feb 27, 2020
How are you guys doing? My name is Divorce and today I am standing behind another car under another cover. Now, in the last few episodes I took that fake Lamborghini apart and told you it was going to be part of a big project. The most ambitious project I have ever had on my channel and that project is here, ladies and gentlemen. I just

bought

a

supercar

with 800 horsepower that you've

never

heard

of, so if you're new to my channel, thank you very much for watching. I really hope you enjoy it and consider subscribing if you like this kind of stuff.

This is not a simple reconstruction project. This is the most ambitious project I have ever had on my channel and I am very excited and a little scared because this car. It's a complete mystery to me. I've

never

worked on one and I don't even really know what it is, but I bet you guys have seen one of these cars in one form or another, if you didn't know, it's because this car is a very special car called RC r SL C RC R stands for race car replicas and SLC stands for super light coupe and the race car replica should give you an idea where this was used because you may have seen it in this movie, that's right, none of those cars were real, they were these, they were SLC, obviously this is not exactly the best quality example of an RC R SLC, but this is exactly what I wanted because I wanted to make my own version of my dream car now.

More Interesting Facts About,

i bought a wrecked 800 hp supercar you ve never heard of...

The first step was to purchase this car at a salvage auction. You guys may not know it, but you can't actually buy one of these at a salvage auction without a broker's license, which is why I use today's sponsor Auto Bid Mister aka site. that makes it easy to navigate and purchase SuperDuper salvage auction cars. It is a comprehensive online car auction with over 180 thousand vehicles for sale right now. They are a salvage auction broker, which means you can buy in 50 states with no limits on types. cars you can buy at these salvage auctions, say no.

I've used Auto Bid Master in the past, but let's see what they have now that could be something interesting. Oh boy, I shouldn't have seen this, so this is an old Lamborghini 8. Murcielago and this is a 640 LP and it costs 75 thousand dollars to buy it now, which is five thousand dollars less than what I paid for mine and mine is not an LP, this could be a great project, oh man, This is fine, so let's go. place a bid of $60,000 then what happens is the system bids up to this amount in increments it will just go up to the maximum bid but hopefully if you know your cars well enough you will get the winning bid and what is still Better is that automatic offer. master has partnered with easy haul calm which means they can ship this car straight to your door which is crazy now you can explore these cars for free or you can take a paid subscription which I definitely recommend because you get a rate lowest transaction. get shipping discounts and depending on the price of the vehicle, it can basically pay for itself;

In fact, if you go to the link in my video description below, you'll get $50 off the paid subscription right now. It's really worth it if we're looking to get any type of salvaged cars, not just the Lamborghini, OMG there's another one so let's get started. I wanted to go handheld because there's a lot to see in this car and it's not just the incredible amount of damage that I think just happened. against a wall at a racetrack or something, I hope no one gets hurt. I don't see any fluid inside, but let's not stop there this car is amazing, it reminds me of GT1 and Lamar cars from the 80's and I love the shape of it.
I mean, just think if this didn't look like a crumpled piece of paper. Here's exactly why this car makes so much power and why this car is very, very unique even in the world of SLCs, making this one of only three. SLC rotor and this guy, well the guy who built it really loved rotaries, check this is a rotary it has a little rotary badge on it, there he was really interested in this rotor stuff. Rob Dom would probably be jealous of this engine, but this is a 20 beef. 3 rotor engine, they came in the Mazda Cosmo, you know one thing or another.
I could be completely trashing it, but actually this is a very weird engine behind the engine is something a little weirder, let me, yeah, it's a little, hey, Jared, come on. I just have to be very careful, behind this engine is this transmission and you guys may not know what it is, but it is a driveshaft called Mendiola sd5. This is a trophy truck driveshaft and is in fact a 5 speed sequential. I found a YouTube video of this car driving down the street and it sounds crazy. It also comes with an air-to-water intercooler. Here's the one we won't use anymore.
Also, there is an 8088 turbo that could use some refurbishment or replacement. There is a very good kink in the air line and the frame is quite damaged. I mean, you can see it's cracked into several pieces back here, so this is completely screwed together. I mean, this car is one you couldn't drive. It doesn't look anything like this, but the good thing is the brakes are nice and big, it actually has Grand Sport wheels from a Corvette and it has its own suspensions, we just take them off, yeah, there we go, okay, so this is it the front of an SLC there is supposed to be a radiator here, but that radiator was damaged in the accident, let's look at this.
The SLCs have their own suspension, they have a lot of custom made parts so this is not a kit car, you can call it a component car because all of this has its own components it's not based on any other platform like that car was basically a Fiero that had the roof cut off and then Jared definitely has the roof off hey it's a kid it's a convertible well how are you feeling good? but this is something unique and it was designed by a guy named Fran Hall and he's still the guy you talked to about getting one of these.
Just take a look at this pushrod suspension, it's really cool and allows this car to have incredible performance. track handling and some good highway handling capabilities as well, but other than that, one of my favorite things about this car is the multi-million dollar doors. This is amazing now that these doors don't stay up because they're supposed to be a little bit. The rod sticking out of there that wasn't there, the person who put these seats there, was a little bit wider and maybe a little bit shorter. than me, so we'll have to change those seats and I'm not too sure. that color scheme here is a Haltech dash, we've got a really cool race car look and we shift gears, that really awesome sequential shifter and back here you can see a standalone Haltech Elite, you've got a bunch of different elements of can bus and what we We'll have to find out what all that does, but I hope this car can start, maybe what do you think.
Oh yeah, we'll make it work. I know these things love to be cooled properly and there is no cooling system so we can't run it for that long, not very long, just long enough to turn it on, make sure it works, maybe change the throttle a bit. transmission because the gauges aren't working, we'll make sure it doesn't hit the ground, yeah, the last thing. what we want to do is yeah, and it's just going somewhere, yeah, it launches at SEMA 2019, this transmission is actually backwards, that's the only way to make it work, but it should handle a decent amount of power, this He supposedly did seven sixty-five on the wheels. and that translates to something like eight hundred something on the crank, eight fifty or something like that on the crank, so that's a lot of power.
I mean, obviously, it's too much power for the driver of this car, only two hundred, it's like just a weed whacker. The reason this car was in this condition was probably because the person driving it did not have the talent that this car required. It now has a manual steering rack and manual brakes. In fact, you can get them with air conditioning and a front lift and all that. things, but this was a race car for the road, it doesn't even have windows here, you can install windows, but they didn't have them there and I'm not really sure what the focus of this build was, just making a speed machine. and I guess the speed was too much, so this project will not only rebuild what we have there, but we will also rebuild, modify and add features to what is already here, so actually I've been talking to Fran Hall, the guy who makes the SLC possible, and he told me that he wants people to know about these cars and I want people to know about these cars, so if you're interested in one of these cars, just go to his website.
I'll link to it in the description below and if you buy one, which I really recommend, let them know that I gave it to you or that you had something to do with it. I really want to spread the word about these cars. These are as close to super and hypercars as you can get without a super or hypercar budget. This is very, very affordable and most people don't put three rotors in them, they usually put LSEs or Ford Coyotes in them or something that has a little more. torque and it's not as delicate as this one, so this car actually has some arrows, some diffusers back here, but everything is broken.
I don't think any of this is real carbon fiber. I think it's just plastic, but man, everything got smashed. Here you can see that this is folded and it's supposed to be one piece and Jerry just removed the bolt that holds the back so we can put it to the side so it looks really nice. I really liked the race car aspect of this. and the fact that you can actually drive this on the street, well, not this one specifically, but you can drive one like this, is pretty interesting. This one had Michigan inspection stickers, not really, I had a New Jersey inspection, all because that's even harder, it's even harder.
Let's get your welder. We will simply put a ratchet strap on it. Yes, today I will be together again. We'll have this ready in an hour. There is a big problem here. The wheel is correct now when I was talking to Fran Hall. About this she told me that it is specifically designed like this to bend in the event of an accident like this because you want all the energy to be dissipated evenly, you don't want something where it is a super super rigid structure and transfers all that energy. In the cabin, this is a semi monocoque chassis and there's an aluminum tub and then there's this roll-up structure up here and it runs all the way around the car.
It's actually pretty clever and if you take the body off it looks like a really cool sled. -- go-cart and there are some really cool vents in here and what I like is that you can customize all of this to suit whatever you need as far as engines and turbos, the sky is the limit because you have a decent amount of space here. probably fits a v8 maybe fits a v8 I mean, no it's not the LS, right? Could have a v8 to put it in. What Jared is doing right now is he's just removing the intercooler and that basically means we're taking the turbo out of the equation, we don't need the turbo right now and the turbo is probably toast so we're just going to make sure that the engine can spin, we're going to take the spark plugs out and then we're going to put some ATF in there because the rotors need a little lubrication and a little cleaning for the top seals and all that to make the rotors work, you don't want them to settle , it's not a very good situation because when they settle that's when things get very dry and crunchy and then the moment you turn it on you just have to rebuild it.
We assume the turbos burned out, broke the big whistle and holding the compressor housing. I have been allowed. I've seen one break that way and because it's stuck so hard it probably crushed the compressor wheel which is the part that sucks the air in so the other reason we're not going to use turbo is if it's damaged in some way, we just don't want it's trying to grow anything, yeah, and any piece of aluminum or whatever, look how clean it is, it's incredibly clean, there's no oil or anything, so we know the turbo was in good condition, there is nothing in this inner core, it is its bones.
I mean, someone spent some time on this car, someone spent some time and money. I don't think the clearance should normally be that tight on the side. I don't think so either. I think the engine, if you look at it a little bit. a little leaning to one side I think it should be a little more focused on the engine bay Why do all the kit cars we've worked on in the past have the engine in the wrong place? I can tell you a few reasons why it's actually okay. well, I mean there's, oh, that's kind of bad, oh yeah, from above, oh yeah, that's what we call foreign object damage.
Well, technically it's not foreign object damage, since it was the turbo housing itself that did it, so it's okay. That's toast, yes, but we can probably rebuild it. It's abig ET 88 turbo, so it's not exactly the newest thing in the world. A lot of things on this car are old school when you see Airmotive a 1000 pumped in there and that's just it. a great fuel pump that honks but it's not really that efficient at what it does, it has much better technology now, the new brushless things move like they are old and reliable, but there are new things that with less consumption of energy and less fuel consumption can move much further. so there's no point in keeping it, maybe there's no point in keeping that engine, what do you think you like about rotaries?
Are you a rotating guy? I'm not a fan of me or me, so let me know. in the comments if you want me to keep that rotary inside or not or do something else because I'm leaning towards something else. Also, I already

bought

an engine, so let's check the spark. The spark plugs and spark plug wires just came out because they are stretched too much. This could actually be a problem. Yes, there could be a problem because the motors are not far enough away. Yes the engine mounts are gone or even just the bolt. But yeah, I think The freshly cut bolt that should be here is that one problem is that it's generally a problem for long-term operation.
Yeah, oh you gotta be kidding me, explain to me how to get it out. It's embedded there. I have no idea how they placed it. the spark plugs there, how can you get them out? That makes no sense. You are supposed to use other spark plugs. It's over there. The twist plugs I've always seen have an extra long shoulder. This is really stupid. Rob, how do you do it? you fix that, help, help us be stupid and voila, he will answer you when you need someone who is not there. He should have let that number be announced.
Jared is using the Mazda approved method to remove the spark plugs. This, oh, did you take it out? Yes that's fine. right, that's not a hacking method, that's a totally improved method, ma'am, it was actually working quite well, yes, it smells dry, right, we're just spraying a little bit of ATF on each rotor and on the ground and on the ground . To make sure you do that because of the accident, we can't actually go up to the crankshaft pulley to turn it, but I can put the screwdriver on the pulley bolt, so I'll go through a very slow and painful process. inch at a time rotate this so we can each camera what hero are you Jared what hero and we're sure that's a positive, very familiar with the positives that they bolt directly to the chassis, you never know what these swivels are. a little strange oh I

heard

a click there are lights there are lights on the dashboard Oh Oh things are happening this exciting okay oh there's a lot of light oh yeah okay then the house lights up let me get this out of here this is a A real talking point for be, but we're going to try to send it and see what happens, okay, we have fuel pressure, fuel, yes, and we have good pressure and the ignition on, oh, this is amazing, what else do we have? fan a drive now oh yeah, we're not going to do that internal coolant pump, we're not going to activate that, block the ignition kill line later, I'm just going to blow it up a little now, just do it right, okay, give it a a little gasoline, we may need more energy.
I think we may need more power. I hear something is not right, so we need more. Okay, I have ten point four volts, yes, we need more power. Are you doing incomplete things? Yes, you might not want to try this at home. kids, ignition on, we should have ten point nine volts, so there's a voltage drop somewhere, yeah, there's something, something's wrong, let's try it, why would you do that? Okay, yeah, it's probably broken in some areas, so I'm not sure what else to do. we have a new battery, we have to connect boxes in there and there is still not enough voltage, so there has to be a voltage drop somewhere in the system and chasing that is going to be a big problem, a problem that could be like the Browns in the floor.
It's not horrible, it doesn't seem like it's that bad back there, but everything changed, so who knows what could break here. I mean, it's been raining, so there's a good chance it's just corroded soil somewhere. a ground connection on the back of the engine and that's actually fine and it looks like it's connected to the chassis, so hey Freddy, what's my fingers smelling? It doesn't smell like fresh fuel, it smells like varnish, yes, and when I took out the fuel line. It was usually brown, that's not what you want to see, an 800 horsepower car, that was like you know all we've ever had has been such a weird problem with the fuel cut off, the ignition, the cut, everything, so I thought: let's double check the fuel quality, since it is not.
It's just not the quality of the fuel that wasn't, in theory all this needs is a battery and a new fuel tank, although I don't actually know how to do that, many know that some of that was already there, which was water. that started draining while we were moving the car and getting weird angles we should probably clean it out or maybe not whatever we can drain the tank and get fresh gas to make spinning noises or we can do a couple of things to help him realize his dream and on that floor that's what we'll do right so here's what I came up with: I only got a -10 with a snap lock hose on a regular stainless steel braided hose -10, however this is not what you're supposed to do.
Doing this is only temporary. It will probably leak a little bit, but we just want to make sure that fuel can get into the engine and that we have some fresh fuel. It's actually normal, so you definitely don't want to cause dissension. If you're going to put it under any type of load, we just want to make sure the motor runs. Rob Tom can adopt them all. They are pretty good brakes. Oh, professionals, a starter motor and then fuel. Now I think we gave it the best we could. shot and we just have to redo the entire fuel system, clean it and who knows how much stuff is in those fuel injectors.
I can probably do it a little bit later in a different episode because this is a little more complicated or I just don't use it, but the other benefit is this whole setup that takes advantage of, we can actually just put it on the ground and start it on the ground or I can just sell it so you guys don't think we're doing this. Above, this is the color of the fuel. Yes, we will do more harm than good if we try hard. Yes, I actually have a solution for this problem. Three rotors aren't exactly my thing, but you know what's mine.
This is a 4.3 liter Ferrari v8 from a Ferrari f430 look we are making the Pulsar engine I know that's not right I know it's something different it's a better idea yes I have a gift what's your gift this it's only half, oh are those the turbos that were removed? my Bentley engine, those are the turbos on your brave, well this is one of them and what I said, this is only half of it, that's true. I think what do you think? I think it might work, so I bought this motor from my friends at eajy. and you guys will know them from the scuderia 430 manual and they had this in their storage and they said it needs a little work so in the next episode I'm going to take it apart so obviously this engine is missing some parts. the intake manifold, the accessories, all that, but it's easy to get and I think this will make it more exotic now that in its original form they make about 500 horsepower, a little less, but with turbos and an engine built, the sky is the limit.
For this, look at how small the bell is. It will actually accelerate quite quickly because the clutch has to be very strong and it will be very small, so I'm not sure if I'm going to use the same sequential transmission. I think it would be great if we did it, but in addition to all that, we're going to do some body modifications, some heavy, heavy body modifications and we're going to do some mechanical things on this engine, on the transmission and on the drivetrain, because after everything what I said was that this was going to be the most ambitious project ever and here's a very rough mockup of the real thing, obviously we're going to do a lot of body work and I'm going to make this fit so it looks oh. um but I already love the way this is going to be this is going to be amazing everything is going to be amazing this is really cool and we're going to keep those pop up lights and I think we could do something else that no one has done on YouTube and you see our driver's seat Right there, yes, we're going to move it to the middle, you don't have time for the passengers, no, no, we can, we can make a cheap midsize single-seater two-seater McLaren f1 Ferrari Lamborghini.
Bentley turbo Bentley mix of SLC parts so this is going to be absolutely crazy. I hope you can subscribe because this will be a longer term project. I'm not going to have things about this every day, but we're going to do a lot. of progress on this, hopefully, in the coming weeks and months because this is going to take a while. I'll make sure we do it right and I'll also have a new slogan, not only Are we tearing ourselves apart every day because well, Jared is Jared it's a struggle every day anyway, it's always true, but we'll do it a little better, so The motto is to build it better and that will be?
I think I think that's pretty good, sure, keep going better. Not only is it expensive, but there are many ways to build it better and we will do it, yes, and we will do it on a budget, we will do it DIY, but we will make sure everything is done right. It won't be a hack job and while it definitely looks like a hack job right now, it is a hack job, yes, right now it is literally a hack job. I mean, we cut off the fenders, but this will be a running car with everything. the amenities you would expect from a

supercar

and it will be absolutely incredible.
I'm very excited and I hope you can appreciate it. I would like to thank our auto bidding master sponsor. where I got not only this car but that nasty arrow where we got this awesome front end so check them out at the link in the description below. I'd like to thank Brian Hall from our CR for giving me a lot of information on these cars and hopefully if he's on board we can really take this to the next level and we thank you all for joining me so until next time I'm me reminding them that they have cars like this that will be incredible one-of-a-kind masterpieces. and thanks to Jared, by the way, Jared's MVP, as always, you guys need to push yourself every day.
