ing a new board today so today was perfect for me and I'm going to tell you teach how to go from having all the parts to a skateboard to a fully assembled and ready to skate skateboard, so first a little breakdown. than we have, you're going to need grip tape, you're going to need trucks, you're going to need wheels and bearings, I should have taken them out, I should have been prepared for this, actually, you know what I'm going to show you, right? here if you're trying to get bearings out of old wheels get your truck and grab your wheel this way and just put the bearing on the end it will give you leverage so you can get it out sometimes depending on the bearing and the wheel.

The combo you have is hard so do your best if you have to, spin the wheel a little to get it done inch by inch, sometimes that works but yeah sometimes they are hard if it's hard for you. I'm not the only one so yes, now we have our wheels and the bearings that go inside them and then of course we have our skateboard. This is an eight inch revive. I don't know what brand I call this big red. Don't know. You know what Brian ended up calling him. It's a nice red lifesaver on top of a red wood grain and then we have Revive hardware.

First things first to get all that equipment. You will have to go to a skate shop. This is my online skate shop theshredcores.com where you can get everything you need to build a skateboard, but if you have a local shop in your area that supports your community, get in there and support them, they can always carry our gear if you want it. interested in reviving skateboards and everything we do, but make sure you get it from a skateboard source. Skateboarding is not a huge world and at any time we can contribute to that world instead of buying it on Amazon or something that I highly recommend doing.

So yeah, go to the skateboard store and get all the things that I just listed and now let's put it together, so now let's put this together, you have your skateboard, you have all your equipment and you need to turn it into a real skateboard. skateboard, this is the deck on the nose, it's usually a little more pronounced than the tail, so if you look back, I don't know if you can see as much in the fisheye, but this is a little higher and also with our boards that we manufacture. It's very easy, usually there's a sticker on the tail, sometimes it's on the nose, but what's not on the tail is that there's a little dot here that's like a machine made a little bit, but there's a little dot up here and that's the nose um and with most of our graphics like what you think the top would be, that's the nose too, but there's some things about how you can figure out where your nose is once you have it, you're going to grab it. . tape that I use for my grip um this is what this grip tape is, it's a little bit thicker but it doesn't tear up your shoes too much and I always put a sticker under my little cutout of grip tape that my hair almost got on. stick it first okay so I like it this is a basic sticker that has a nice shine to it so when I look down it's like it's glowing it's like I have gemini on this trick and then the skateboard doesn't notice. it's just that I'm not that good and then I don't land it, but it's a good thought so I'm going to throw it right there, let's see how it looks, it looks nice and shiny, okay, so the grip tape is ready. but what we forgot to do is remove the plastic from our skateboard, so let's take it out of the shrink wrap.

When you apply grip tape, many people are paranoid about air bubbles, that's when the air pocket has bubbled. under the grip tape after you've applied it, so I personally don't care too much about air bubbles, but sometimes they're annoying to see, so let's try not to leave them right, what we're going to do is we're going to line this up. with my cutout. I should, I don't want this to be too close to the studs, so I usually get close to the end of my tail and then I make sure it's not this way or that way and I line it up with the nose, okay, then I take my hand and I press this edge on this edge, I make a line and then I pat it from the center outwards, okay, and that's a good way that if you just put it on really quickly, there's a higher risk of it form air bubbles this way.

I usually don't have air bubbles. a roller some people actually become like a roller. I don't have one that really eliminates air bubbles, but if you just leave it on, it allows you to push down really hard and slide everything out. I don't see much Sometimes it will take different lighting for you to really see and if you still have an air bubble, after that place a razor blade over the bubble and make a small hole, you won't be able to see it but it will allow you to get it out. the air and then you can flatten it and that's it, now we're going to mark the grip tape, so you're going to take a flat head, a phillips head like a guy called a build head, wow, I did it.

I didn't mean to do that, it was cool, there are actually scores, there are files you can use anything long and metallic that you don't worry about getting scratched, just go around the edge of the board and the way I hold this is I just have I have it in my hand and I put a finger here, it allows me to maneuver and control it perfectly. It's also something you might want to get in addition to all your skate parts. It's a skateboard tool. It has everything you need when it comes to assembly tools. your skateboard, this is up here and you can use it to mark your grip tape if you don't have a screwdriver, it comes with one and an allen head in case you have allen head hardware that has a socket for the axle nuts and one for the central pivot. and then one for your hardware it's perfect it also has a ratchet these things are cool we have these we do a collaboration with silver or skate tool we have them in our store you can buy one that last forever it's a skateboarder's companion you should get one of these, but if not, you can find a wrench and a screwdriver in your house and do it.

Now that we're ready to cut off this excess, let's grab a razor blade, be very careful with these and you. We're always going to try to cut away from you when you can, so you're going to stab from the bottom and, uh, a lot of people, if you hold the blade up, you're going to have a little bit of protrusion, but if you go like that, it's going to cut and cut. a little bit closer to the board, which is my personal preference, but if you cut it and there's a little overhang, it'll take care of itself and now it's going and Honestly, I find myself cutting myself with this.

It's just that in general you try not to point yourself at razor blades because they're very sharp, so if you're not comfortable using a razor blade, find someone who's not uncomfortable. You think you'd throw this away, but you don't because you're going to sand the grip tape really well, so after you've done that, make sure you put the blade somewhere safe, but you'll do it again. this with a piece of grip tape and just sand the grip tape, this way you just seal the grip tape to your skateboard a little better if it's really cold you might like that the grip tape glue doesn't adhere properly. it kind of helps make sure your grip tape is on your skateboard and guys if you're enjoying this video I make videos all the time and it will mean a lot if you hit that subscribe button.

Anything that I think is entertaining in my life so I hit the subscribe button down there it's free and easy and you'll see more stuff like this so now your skateboard is almost ready to go but I suggest you do holes in your hardware to prepare it to put the trucks on your skateboard so we're going to open up these new hardware and if you have a small screwdriver or something that you can push down on, that's awesome but what I do because chances are you're in this situation you're not going to have a tool, you don't want to just hit it like this because it will blow your grip tape like this, so you want to see, you want to press and this will pop up a little bit.

Now that you know where your hole is, you're going to do this and then you can use the tip of this to push it in and then twist it, which will open up the hole that you're going to put in a little bit. this there and then you know you use your truck you can even use your truck look at this you didn't blow up the grip tape and it looks good you're going to repeat that process on all eight holes so now we have our piercing grip. duct tape we're ready to start putting stuff on the skateboard, but actually now is a good time to take a break and do a karate chop.

The next thing we are going to need is our axles. If you've used trucks like me you probably have one that you've been using as a front and one that you've been using as a back, normally people don't change them and rotate them if you do, that's up to you, how you skate makes the bushings have a certain I remember that you turn in the right direction and you sit in the right way that you want, so this is my front truck. You'll see a lot of qrikey grind marks on this one, in fact there are some weird grandpas, oh, cupcake half rounds, but this one is definitely my front. truck, so I'm going to take a marker and draw an f at the bottom of this and that will fade out, so if you've had your trucks for about a year, update this from time to time, but I just put a little bit of f.

I know this is my front axle because if you change it after spinning the axles a certain way for a few months, it's weird and it'll like to turn weird, uh, it's just stock, so I suggest doing that if they're new. Pick one, write an f under it, and throw it on the front of your skateboard. Now with these life saver screws, there are two red ones that you can actually put on the front of your board so you can look down and say they're both good. red studs which is the front of my board we're going to push the red stud through the front this is a very red skateboard so now we've got them sticking out so now we're just going to put the skateboard in place those two there and The kingpin must be on the inside.

If you do this wrong, you'll notice that your skateboard doesn't roll the right way, so make sure you get into the habit of doing this. Sometimes even years later I started riding my skateboard with this backwards like I was talking, I wasn't paying attention and I don't think I've ever gotten on my board before but I've ridden boards that are like that on purpose and it's not good , so make sure you do it. Put your truck back together properly and then once you get those two, you can just screw the nuts in there a little bit so they hold on and then, you know, go back and get the other two hardware that's in there or you. do them all at once it doesn't matter if you do them two at a time it's a little easier to handle so when you have them all just come back use your skate tool or if you have to use a wrench you can use a wrench, you're going to tighten it with the right, tight, left, loose and you'll see that a lot of times I do like this, but if I want to turn it because it has a ratchet on this tool, it's a very easy way to do it, but make sure you're just pressing firmly with the screwdriver.

You can even turn the screwdriver at the same time if you want to do it twice as long, but just adjust it. You don't want it to sink into the wood, but you do want it to sink into the wood. grip tape and it is tight because it is very easy for them to come loose after a few weeks of skating and then you may want to re-tighten them every couple of weeks to make sure your trucks don't come loose and honestly if certain hardware will come loose too , so I insist on coming back and checking and tightening them after a couple of weeks.

Our hardware is pretty good. You pointed it out when you were filming that and I haven't had to do this in a long time. time, but you know it's better to be safe than sorry because you don't want your skateboard to spin, you don't want it to spin, so now that this truck is firmly on the skateboard, you're going to repeat that process right here, I repeated the process uh and I used a power drill on this and if you decide to use a power drill it's faster but it's much easier to accidentally go too far and get into the wood so be careful if you decide to use one of these to assemble Your skateboard is fine so now we're ready to put the wheat, the bearings inside the wheels and, uh, on the axles, and that happens like everything at the same time, but this is a perfect time to take a break and take a basketball shot.

Now that you have your trucks, you want to remove the axle nut, you're going to put a bearing right there, so a lot of people like the wheel graphics on the inside. If you like the interior, then take out the graphic. For this part, I like them on the outside just because that's what they're there for, so I'm going to put the graphic on and I'm going to get up and get a little bit of leverage and you're going topress down, now you're going to turn it over, put another wheel down and you're going to do the same thing over and over again with this, sometimes depending on the bearing and the wheel that you have, our power wheels.

They are quite easy, I have no problems getting the bearings in and out of these wheels. Any skate wheel if it gets too old, sometimes they get a little bit more stubborn, you might have to put some muscle on it, so be prepared for that, and then. There are these little spacers that come on trucks and many times they are included with the bearings if you put them between the nuts and the truck, which gives you a little bit of room, so even if it's tight, it still allows the bearing to rotate. freely so if you don't have them those often get lost, no big deal just make sure you don't overtighten the nuts but they are there to give the bearing a little breathing room and honestly I lose them all the time. time, so it's not a big deal. deal, but they're nice and even when you have them don't overtighten the nuts because you want to have a little bit of wiggle room, but you know when I go like this I can feel a little bit of room and it clearly spins freely, it's good.

To finish, we're going to repeat that process on the eight and that's it, and by eight I meant four, here's my skateboard. If you're setting up a skateboard for the first time, you'll want to pay attention to this. the tightness of your trucks um if they feel super loose I suggest you tighten them up a little bit so you like it where you think it's a medium and then as you skateboard you can develop the taste whether you like it tighter or looser, I personally like the medium, I love it. It's like I can spin, but with a little tension it allows me to perform my tricks with a little more.

I feel like the board reacts better when there is a little bit of tension on the trucks but a lot of people swear by having very loose trucks so that's up to you okay before we start all this guys find a clean place to do This is because, especially when you continue skating, your board gets dirty and look how disgusting my hands are, so don't do this to your mom. new sofa, do people call them sofas? I call it a sofa whatever. Okay, so my skateboard is fully assembled. My tradition when building a skateboard is that I try to do a kickflip first.

If you're watching this, you might I just started skating so don't worry if you can't do a kickflip, but once you get to that point it's tradition, it wasn't a good kickflip, but I did it. I have new shoes and a new board right now. so I'm going to skate and do some tricks for you. It will be a new situation. I only made one line on the first try. I don't know if I've ever done that in my life. I've been working on this trick for two sessions now and I'm not getting better, but skateboarding is not only fun, it's hard and it teaches you just self control and discipline, and boy, I'm learning right now and when I land it will be a lot more fun, but thank you.
