Thank you all so much for clicking on this video today and visiting me here on my channel Heidi shows DIY. I am so grateful for each and every one of you. I get asked all the time what my favorite

organization

al supplies are in my

craft

.

room

and how I keep things tidy now if you missed my tour of the actual

room

craft

room. I'm going to link it below in the description box at the end of this video and first we'll talk about tape storage. I used to keep all my tapes and those big Rubbermaid cans and it was great, but the problem is that over time you can't see the tape at the bottom of those cans and as you add to

your

tape collection, when finding things on sale, the things at the bottom just don't show up and that would frustrate me a lot because I would have certain holidays and seasons that I would be looking for, so I came up with the idea of taking an old traditional shoe rack and I discovered that on carts of bar that the shoes rest on you can actually slide the tape holes over them.

Now not all of the tape holes will be able to slide over them, but for the most part it works for almost all tape holders and you can see here. I have ribbons of different sizes. I love doing it this way and about every six months I unscrew one side of this shoe rack, remove the empty containers, put them back in and put them back in another way now. I used to organize my tape with these tape holders you can put on Joanne's wall. I had six and they were beautiful, but the thing is, I couldn't fit that many ribbons and it was a little tricky too. putting it on and off the wall so I love the shoe rack because it makes it so much easier for me to be able to organize everything without you having to struggle to get it on and off the wall.

Next is Ikea storage. I love Ikea furniture. my craft room, this is

your

cabin. I love this. In fact, I have them all over my house in other areas. It is made from real wood and I feel like it is substantial furniture at an affordable cost. You are getting a high-end product. look without spending a ton of money and I'm so grateful that Ikea made this Hutch with the top shelves, now the door cabinets close smoothly and underneath fit these large tubs which are amazing for storage. Next up I really love it and I have three of these in my craft room.

They are these multi-drawer units. They are great because you can see here that they are small enough to store under a table, but the drawers are long and deep. The first two top drawers are a little larger. shallow as you can see here where I have a lot of my pin

organization

pieces here, but then in the bottom three drawers they are deeper drawers and I always think that when I put things inside the drawers they don't go to fit and then when I close it, it fits somehow magically. I love them, I can't say enough about them, they hold all my craft tool supplies and it's kind of funny, they're always out of stock at Ikea so sometimes you just have to move on.

The waiting list to contact them next is the Pax system. These are amazing. I will say that trying to design it online on your website is very frustrating. Your website lags and I have very good internet speed at home. Because it's on YouTube, but sometimes it's very difficult to design things on their website, so I recommend going to Ikea and working with a consultant that they have there, but it's amazing because you can choose which shelves you want in each pack system, What depth do you want? where they are and generally where you want the drawers and supplies.
The other cool thing I've discovered is that these cabinets can actually fit the large Rubbermaid containers without the lids, so I just remove the lids, slide them in and it's where I can have so much storage for all my craft supplies. for different seasons. My number one question I always get for my craft room is what is that thing your flowers are on? I call it my flower tower. I used to work at trade shows years ago where I used to do scrapbooking conventions and I own my own scrapbooking store and one of the things that I saw used a lot at conventions were the wire racks that They armed and disarmed them very quickly.
Then one day when I was in my craft room I was so frustrated that I had eight containers of flowers on top of me, they were all smashed and crushed and I just didn't like the way they were taking care of my flowers so I decided to try the racks of wire. I found a triangle shape and what you do because I have a lot of people. There are a couple of people who have bought this and say: how can you glue the flowers? I take two zip ties. I close the zipper. tie them together on two of the bars and then after zip tying them, I usually do about 20 on each of these sides of my triangle.
You can see here on this back side, so I haven't used this side yet. Then I'll do it. If you can put a couple of flowers in first to start, you can see that the stems are hidden behind the black bar and the flowers are well placed in that first loop. Once you have that many flowers, not too many, then you can start using them to help build around and tuck in the flowers and then over time you can put in as many flowers as you want. It is the best storage for flowers. Next is the stacked organization.
I love the organization that goes vertically. These are really affordable, they are everywhere, tiered can stacking trays and many people have them inside their food storage pantries. It is really a great storage for paint. I love being able to see all my different colors so I bought a pair. of them for my painting and I just spread them out so I can stack all my paints on top and it works great because I can see all the colors and since it's vertical storage it looks beautiful, another vertical storage unit that you could What I use are the tiered trays.
I love tear trays because you can put all sorts of cute things in there, like ribbons or repainting, and then another stacking item is the cubes and bars that you can buy at Ikea now. I don't think they will sell. This particular brand no longer carries these cubes, but I know they have something similar in their kitchen section. I have been using these cubes for years. I can store my scissors, all my sewing tools, pencils, pens. Is incredible. And it looks so beautiful. It sounds really weird, but trash cans are my next favorite. I love using Rubbermaid trash cans because, first of all, they are super durable and have a great base where they can stand up without tipping over.
I also love that they have a handle. nice edge on the top so you can pick them up and move them easily, so I like to use my long awkward things in my craft room to store them, so for example I use wrapping paper for one of them and then another it's for all my wood stakes, you can see tiki torches in there, sometimes I keep a lot of wire type things in there, like chicken wire and pieces of wood, pool noodles, these are fantastic and they're super affordable, and you're able to store them all your things neatly and contained inside these tubs definitely try them now, let's talk about cute storage What is a craft room without some cute things inside your craft room?
I love vintage suitcases so I have one in one of the corners of my room where I keep my sewing machine and all my sewing stuff and I just rolled the fabric up and stuffed it in at different heights. I think this adds a lot of interest and color and I love it, another thing is to use a lazy Susan and get some mason jars and separate the buttons or beads. Whatever the color, it's such a pretty thing, also a basket full of yarn and most importantly, a vintage Farmhouse plate holder. I love this storage because it's so cute, it's so different and you would.
Be surprised, look how many interesting things I can store here. Clipboard, my paper cutter, stickers, stencil holders so I can trace shapes and my plates for painting, it's great for storage. I also get asked a lot about what tables I work on and I have a very specific favorite because it's very affordable for crafters. I know many of us start crafting on the dining room tables or floors in different spaces in our homes and look for places to be creative. I found these long table pieces from Ikea and you can choose whatever length and width of these you want, they have them in black and white and I think sometimes depending on the season they come in different weird colors, but in general I like the whites and What you do is you choose the top piece of the table and then the legs and depending on how long the table is, you will need four or five legs for the center stabilizing part of that table.
A fifth leg. You can see here that I just

grab

bed some fabric from an old guy. sheet and I just stapled it around it to clean it up a little. Does it look perfect? No, it definitely isn't, but you know, it works great for my craft room and it holds it so I can store things underneath. table you can also see here I have one next to my desk that I keep my printer on and then on the table where I film this is what it looks like on the bottom here are the legs where you screw them into the corners of those table pieces and I have three of these in my room, one where I film for YouTube, one in my scrapbook area and one on my desk, they are so affordable, definitely check them out, where would we be in a craft room without containers or boxes, especially different sizes to hold all of our supplies, so the first one I want to talk about is this big white container from Ikea again.
I'll link everything below so I don't spoil the names. Ikea, but these containers are very high quality. I love the handles on the sides. I love that it has a finger hole to pull it forward wherever you place it and I love that it has a lid. I keep them on top of my backpack system. I swear. They purposely designed them to fit perfectly. These are great tubs because I can store any overflow or projects I'm working on in them. The next thing I love from Ikea are these burlap boxes. They have the most beautiful storage handle.
In it, where you can label inside the oval what you want to put, there is a little piece of paper that slides in, but the little handle itself makes it possible for you to pull them out. I think this is very high quality and very well made, the inside has a pattern which is lovely too. I thought I'd show it too. I use it to store a lot of my small crafts, like blocks, then I want to talk about these containers that you can use. Get it from Target Target has a lot of really cool hard plastic tubs that come in all different shapes and sizes and they also have all these pretty design patterns so you can see what's inside the tub without having to see what's inside. the tub and the last one I want to share are these containers from The Container Store.
I'm not going to lie, they were expensive. I paid about 50 dollars for each of them but I felt it was valuable because for me storage is really important, I think we all have our things that we are willing to spend a little more on and this was one of them for me, so they have different sized drawers, some wider, some smaller, they're nice. Great because you can mount them on the wall or stack them on top of each other or have them as individual units. I'm planning to use a lot of scrapbooking material in these very soon and organize it.
I will share it on my channel later. Now it's time for my favorite things. I get asked all the time what my favorite things are and these are them. I love using a cleaning cart and inside that cleaning cart there are so many things that are important to me first. I have a flashlight because I never know that you have to be prepared if the power goes out. I have a bucket from the Dollar Tree full of popsicle sticks that I use all the time. I have a template for when I design training and work on things that have it. an I can You say I have a lot of scissors.

It took me forever to get a new one, folks. I'm so ghetto. I only use the ones from Walmart that cost like four dollars. People ask me all the time what my favorite hot glue gun is and it's what they're all working on, it's whatWhat I normally tell people, but this new one. glue gun I told my husband you know what for Christmas I would like to have a new hot glue gun again.
I'll link it below another thing I love is a large non stick pizza pan, it's great to put your Place hot glue on and place and remove all your tools when you buy a heat gun. Oh my word, folks, never buy one without a protective plastic tip on the front to prevent you from accidentally hitting the metal piece. You will burn a lot and peel off layers of skin, so make sure you get one that has protection and I love this one. I'll link it below. This one doesn't really need any explanation, but I like Ryobi. for my drills and this is the one I have but I will say I love having more than one battery so if it runs out I can easily swap it out next.
I know many of you have bought this because I have seen it like this. You know, they come with a common saying that you bought one. I love using a miter box without having to use scary power tools. This is a great option. So I have a Dremel. I love this thing, it has all kinds of different heads and bits that you can. Use it to be able to cut things or drill things now again, this is one of my all time favorites is the alligator. I've been using this here for a while and I know many of you have purchased it.
I know. Many of you are always worried about whether it is good for arthritis and it has a spring hinge mechanism that allows you to push through hard chipboard and metal cardboard, whatever it is, it is a really great tool and it doesn't hurt your hand and then they can Look, here's another one called Big Bite. It is the largest version of the crocodile. This is my favorite brush. I buy them at Walmart. There are two in a package. I get asked about this all the time too. I love the big handle and the big handle. bristle head for my paper cutter this is my Fiskars paper cutter I'm a Fiskars girl I love Fiskar scissors I think they have high quality products and I love that the blade is easily interchangeable it just comes off and then I can change the blade When I need it, I love this paper cutter and then I have my tape gun.
This one may be harder to find. I'm going to try attaching one next, but I love using one large tape gun instead of all of them. the little packets of adhesive and then I have my roll of paper towels. I know it's really weird to put it here, but I use paper towels like crazy here, as well as wipes inside this wipes storage box I just got from the baby. section at Target friends I hope this answered many of your questions.
