so I saw this at Hoods in Foley Alabama my husband and I were there a couple months ago when we were looking for our plants to replant and we didn't really find any there , but we passed by Hoods and I saw something like this. Now they wanted one hundred and nineteen dollars for it, so let me show you how we decided to recreate this and it will cost you a lot less than one hundred and nineteen dollars, so let me show you what you will need in case you want to.

Make this project fully customizable. You can make it as big as you want. These are just the dimensions I wanted. You can make them smaller. You can make them bigger. Okay, so what you're going to need is about half a sheet of plywood. It's about half an inch now that we had ours left over, so I didn't have to buy it and I don't think it's going to be much, maybe like ten dollars. I don't know, is all this an estimate or is it possible. go to Home Depot or Lowe's and they sell the round discs already cut.

I think they cost like six dollars a piece. I'm not sure and I don't believe it. I think you can get different sizes. You'll have to check it out. You need the plywood, so you'll go if you want yours to be a Lazy Susan, if not, then you can drop this part off at Lowe's. This is where I got mine. I got the one never built and it's a Lazy Susan turntable. is the kit to make it like this and mine was down with the knobs the knobs and I think the drawers open easily anything that can make drawers like that that's where it was it wasn't much I really don't remember how much it all cost this because I've had this for a while waiting to get the project done right, but I guess if you did it from scratch and like I said if you didn't want the turntable you could cut it out. that out, there are different ways to make it smaller, there are ways to reduce your costs, it would cost you approximately 50 to 60 dollars, so let me continue telling you what you will need, well, then wait, I forgot something, okay, I can't believe this.

I almost forgot something very important, okay, so you're going to need some galvanized metal, okay, if you want yours to look like some kind of

, really kind of old, and it came like this and I spray painted it, okay, so you're going to need these called three and depending on what size you wanted I ended up buying the 3/4 inch one but it's not necessary it's a 3/4 inch galvanized floor flange okay and this is in the plumbing section and is going to enter. a little plastic thing like this and it's just bare metal, okay, you're going to need three of those.

, like I did, then you'll need a steel pipe from the plumbing section. Also, when I bought it, this collar is fine and it comes in a bag like this and it's just called steel tubing, it's 3/4 by 6 inches and I just spray painted this whole thing with the rest of the hammered Oleum Universal paint for the whole thing. the surface. and brown base and I love that effect. You can leave yours bare if you want or you can spray paint it any color you want. I've decided I'm going to paint mine with my Waverly chalk paint in hazel.

I love this necklace, I think it's really pretty and I'll probably dry brush it with a little cashew just to give it that creamy color. This was more or less the color they had. May they need a foam brush? A much loved brush for dry brushing. and then you'll need some screws and I'll address them. I know the screws I think cost like a dollar 19 a pack and you're going to need four packs of those screws, okay? You're going to need some nuts, you're going to need a Phillips screwdriver, a tape measure, and a small wrench, and that's really all you need now.

My husband cut this with a router. You could use a hacksaw if you wanted. He just did it. a little template and I cut it out with that and then he sanded it so let me go ahead and get everything right let me tell you first the sizes of the base okay this base he made me and we just put the Lazy Susan in here. on the bottom okay this base measures 11 and 3/8 inches a little over 11 by 3/8 inches always measure your project first and like I said this is totally customizable if you want to get it right now .

I'm going to have the top tier, the smallest one, it's 11 and 3/8 inches, it's fine from side to side. Now the one I saw had this little round disc that sat on it to make it look like it had a rim. I just think it's really pretty and we're going to need a hot glue gun okay so you have this and then the middle one here will be 14 and a half inches wide and then you'll have this to go with it. but in the right size, this one is fine and then your bottom tier will be 17 and 3/4 inches wide, but like I said, whatever size you want to make your own, that's the size you should make and then you have this little top, OK? let me go get my glue gun and plug it in and we'll start painting this.

I think this is going to be very nice. I will be right. Okay, push this down a little bit more so you can see everything. I'm going to open up my Waverly chalk paint in hazel and you see me do this so many times, so I'm going to do it very roughly and then I'll leave and come back when it's done. Now in these levels, you'll be able to paint the top and bottom and naturally the side of the base, you just won't really see it, but I'm going to paint the top of the base just to give it a more finished look, OK? but this is all I'm doing, just putting on a thin coat of Waverly chalk paint.

You can make this any color you want, but this is the color I decided to make, but like I said, this is such a customizable layer that you can make it. any size you want, it wouldn't have to be swivel style like a

lazy

susan

item or you can make it just a two tier tray so you can really do whatever you want so I will come back once. I paint them all over and dry them, okay, I have everything painted. I have used two coats and some parts you have to paint the bottom of the ball.

I wasn't too fussy about the bottom because you're not going to see much of it. but make sure you do the top part very well on the side and on these also now on things you only have to paint the top part, the inside and the outside, not the bottom part, because you're not going to see it now. I went ahead and just painted this bottom base, but with that Lazy Susan right on top, but it's not necessary because you're definitely not going to see it well, so now what I want to do is just do a little bit. a little bit of dry brushing with this cashew and then we'll start assembling.

Now you don't have to do this step, if you don't want to you can skip it completely, but I want to do it a little bit right because the one I saw had a little bit of a cream on it, okay, so we're just going to go down here and leave it straight. and we'll let him pick this up, that's basically how he was and plus he definitely picked up more. on the side, but this looks like a French and even Tuscan

I'm going to use hot glue, but you could. use wood glue okay I usually use guerrilla hot blue and I have a lot of success with that so the first thing you want to do is put the bottom tier here and we're going to put ours and the nuts on this so we can attach it. This is fine before doing anything else, so if you want to get this, let me zoom in. It's really not difficult to assemble. It's got four holes here and my husband pre-drilled it so you can get it and then everything. What I need is to get these screws right here and I'll show you which ones I have.

Okay, I have two packages of 1/4 inch by 1 inch, okay, 1/4 by 20 by 1 inch, and I have 2. packages of these and this is what they look like, okay, they look like this, so I just I'm going to push this down here and if you wanted to, you could say, I'm going to screw it in, this is what I'm going to do. If you wanted, you could spray paint them to match this. I just didn't do it, but you could definitely do it if you wanted to okay, so I'm going to start this with my fingers and then I'm going to use this screwdriver to put it right there, same thing for this it's just going to go there very simple and I might end up spraying the mine to match the brown.

I don't know, it's totally up to you what you do, okay and then we. We're going to put one more on, okay, then we'll turn it over and put our little nuts here so they don't come off and we'll tighten it with a little wrench here in a minute. I think I can. If this screw isn't quite right or something like that, we're going okay, so all we're going to do is take our shim nice and snug because I want this to go anywhere comfortable and then face like I said, put it halfway in. . You didn't have to chain the chair below and that's what we have.

I think it's pretty good, so now what we're going to do is do it the other way around, now we're going to put the base on and this part needs to be against this for this to sit right, so we're going to line up this hole in the metal. I don't know if you can see it, but there's a hole right here, let's line it up with the hole. on our base here and then we're going to put in our screws and that's going to attach the Lazy Susan to this, okay, and then all you have to do is keep looking for the other ones, so I'll come back once I get there. all of this adhered to this, okay, that was very easy, so I did it and now you can see I have a lazy susan, okay, so since we did that, what we're going to do next, I'm going to continue Go ahead and Remove this piece from here where I want it, it will make it a lot easier.

Well, as you all know, I use guerilla hot glue. You can use wood glue. You can also use clamps to hold this. If you want, you could even use super glue if you want. I'm going to do this because I really trust this wood glue. I mean, this is like a wood glue, this hot glue is fine, just make sure you put it where you want it and then just press down and I. I found out that it's not going to go anywhere, okay, and that's what we have so far, which is pretty good, but like I said, you can use wood glue or something, okay, now you can stop here if you want or just put one more tear now.

We're going to take this pipe and we're going to put this down here, just screw it here and just roll it right now and I wanted the six inch one for my wit between my tears, you can do whatever you want. I want it to be right, so now what I'm going to do is get the middle one right and you have to put two of these pipe plates on it because it has to screw on here, but you have to allow the other one to screw it on, okay , we're going to get our screws and these are the screws that you need 1/4 inch and there's twenty times one times one and a half, okay, I hope you can see it, okay, so you can't see these nuts from above.

I'm going to glue them. I'm going to put this one at the top first. Okay, so just put them there and you can start with your fingers. Okay, now. We're going to flip this over and just put this right on top and go ahead and screw these in tight, just back up a little bit if you don't bring it all down because you want it flush and then screw this in. because this has to be flush for your nuts to fit in okay make sure it's down there okay so we're going to turn it over and all we're going to do is just start putting our nuts in there this is really really easy , it seems a little complicated, but it really is, so I'm going to take my little ratchet and I'm just going to tighten it, okay, now all we have to do, you'll see what we have like this, now all we have to do.

What you want to do is just thread this into this tube, just go around and around, try to thread it straight, okay, and you can go back a little bit and turn it back on if you think you're starting to twist it a little bit, okay? The last thing we need to do is screw this in here, well, it's not thelast, but it is very close to being the last. Now we're going to stick this on top of here like we did before with our hot glue. I said, "Make sure you put it where you want it and make sure you have the right one because this glue is going to harden now.

You could stop here if you just wanted a two-tier Lazy Susan, but I wanted three, okay, okay, then you get the last one." like this and what you're going to do is attach it here at the bottom just like we've been doing right and here are the screws for the top level, it's number 8. by 1/2 inch, okay, I'm going to do the same principle, line up those holes and just put them on top and screw this in. I'd hate to see it, I mean, I think you'd probably even pay over a hundred and nineteen dollars, if you thought of it as a hobby or Kirkland lobby and it's so solid it'll hold up to anything. , you won't have to worry, then it won't hold up well, so now what we do is we just put this top level here and the same thing, just start screwing it into that high thread until it's tight oh, I love this, okay, and then The last thing we need to do is glue it in, okay, like I said, make sure you place it where you want it before you do it.

Leave it because it will stay where it is and it won't move and you can use clamps like I said if you want, okay, let me clean it up and I'll show you what it looks like, okay, here's my three tier Lazy Susan. I love it, it's very sturdy, if you wanted, you could put something else on top, but I didn't want it. I wanted it like that. It's heavy, let me tell you, oh, that's heavy. I don't think I can lift it.
