Press that thumb. button up and let's go ahead and start crafting. There are a couple of different styles when it comes to these garden plates. For this first project, I'm

using

the thinner one that has a larger opening at the top but it's very shallow and I'm just getting started. When removing the labels, I

high

ly recommend taking a heat gun if you do a lot of crafting because it helps a lot to remove those labels from the dollar tree and then for this project I wanted to make a beautiful candle holder like a group of candles that look very pretty as a single piece, so I'm using some dollar tree candles.

The taller candle actually came from another set which I think came from Kohl's just because I didn't have the other dollar tree candle on hand, but definitely keep an eye out. for those and collect them whenever you can. I didn't like that they were all one size, although the one in the back is a little taller, but they all sink to the bottom of this garden bowl or plate and I just didn't like how flat or deep they were in there, so I decided to build small platforms to be able to lift them. I'm just grabbing some of my building blocks from Dollar Tree and gluing them together. a few different sizes so they set at different levels and then to paint this a really nice brown color, I'm using Waverly's truffle color, I'm just applying it to the bowl and then I can dip it. but I recommend painting the inside and outside because you'll be able to see both in this project and I end up applying a couple different coats of paint because you can see through just the first coat.

I'm using one of these new candle holders from Dollar Tree. I actually ordered them online so I had to buy them in bulk. I'll link them below if you're interested, but I knew I'd get a lot of use out of them. Fall and Christmas, so I went ahead and grabbed a bunch of them so I wouldn't have to keep searching for them in the store. I wanted to go ahead and paint it the same brown color. I love this color. Keep it up. a milk chocolate color but it definitely dries down much darker and is just a beautiful

farmhouse

color and goes with neutral decor.
I wanted the holder to be very dark so my candles on top would really stand out. I don't want these little platform lifts. to appear on this little candle tray, so I go ahead and paint them the same color and then hot glue them on. The candles are this cream color, but they are very simple and I wanted to add that extra detail there, so I'm wrapping the bottom of mine with a burlap ribbon. I've seen people wrap theirs with black and white buffalo checks whenever they decorate dollars or candles and those are very pretty too.
I just want this to be more neutral, I think it will be. It's coming into fall really beautiful with these warm colors, so I hot glued my garden plate on top of the stand, put my candles in there and then I got lucky, I was at Walmart and they were removing all of their little spring floral bouquets and I. I've been using them all year and love them, so I was super excited every time I found them. They were only a couple bucks after they were on sale and I've been using them on a ton of projects so I was able to add this and then like I said going into fall you could definitely put in some little pumpkins or add some fall colored flowers .
This will definitely be a piece you could change up for each season. I dry brushed it a little. the chandelier with a little black paint and then I just put this together and added greenery and I think it turned out beautiful. I styled it with more farmhouse decor and I think it's a beautiful piece made from that plastic container. The next step is really awesome. Do it yourself, I think you will love it. I found more garden dishes that were deeper and taller and didn't have as wide an opening, but they were a really cool shape and I thought they looked small upside down. lamps, so I found these plant hangers from Dollar Tree, as well as these little button lights, and I knew there was a way to put them all together so I could make some really awesome farmhouse lamps.
Now I know that farmhouse lamps can be really amazing. Expensive, especially if you order them online, but I knew there had to be a way to make them ourselves. The only thing I'm using that isn't from Dollar Tree are these little Hobby Lobby brand wooden circles, they just have the little details around the edges and I think they're beautiful so I want to add that because I needed them and didn't I was able to find exactly what I was looking for at Dollar Tree but I thought they would look really great on the wall if I could mount the little plant hangers or hooks to these little wooden circles and I knew this would make it much sturdier than trying to glue something with hot glue back there so I had to use my drill for this I just screwed the screws that come with it down there so don't lose them keep them with them and then I was nervous about using hot glue but I knew that with this cheaper plastic I was a little afraid to drill holes in it or add anything to it. another type of glue.
I'm having a hard time finding something that sticks very well to metal so I wanted to add hot glue but I knew it needed a little more support so I'm going to try gluing the plant hook to the plastic container and then add these little pieces of sticks of ice cream and these are from the dollar tree, but I'm going to try adding a couple as suspenders so that every time I hot glue them on I can press them down and have more surface area to hold on to. instead of just what's under the plant hook so I add a ton of hot glue and remember I recommend adding a ton of hot glue just to make sure they don't fall off but the light is very light so I think it will stay on the wall, but feel free to add any other glue you prefer after the glue has completely cooled and they are intact.
I took this outside and sprayed it with some of this oxide-oleum. 2x black spray paint. This is my favorite brand. I think it holds the plastic really well so I went ahead and sprayed everything and at first I was nervous that using the plant stand would make it look a little sticky. but honestly, like on the wall, I think they're gorgeous and like if you don't even pay attention to that little plant hook, I think it actually looks like a real farmhouse lamp, so these little Dollar Tree lights are self-adhesive, which is Awesome, they still hold up there just fine for me.
If you were worried you could add a little bit of your own glue, but I think these are so awesome that they are light to the touch and don't require any wiring or anything. like this and this just flips over after sticking to something so you can change the batteries which is awesome and this is what they look like all together. I think they are amazing and such a beautiful way to make. a farmhouse lamp on a budget. I was able to get them held up with command strips just to film this video, but after committing to where exactly I want them, which I love above my fireplace, I'm going to go ahead and ruin them. on the wall I tried to make projects that were very different, using these garden plates so I wouldn't keep copying the same thing and adding plants, so for the next ones I wanted to make something that I could hang. on the wall, that would look great in a country house so once again I am using two of these shallower garden plates and they are very short but with wide openings so I thought they would look lovely hanging on the wall .
Make them as decorative plates, if you wanted you could put some vinyl stickers on there, but I really wanted them to look really 3D and stand out from the wall, so I'm painting them with a couple coats of white chalk paint. Make sure you do the inside and outside because you'll be able to see both and then let them dry really well. I wanted to add a planter and have used this before. I couldn't find a flower. pot in my craft stash and I didn't want to make a special trip so I'm going to reuse them but this is just a little plastic pot from a dollar tree that I cut in half with a knife and scissors and it cut very easily and then I wrapped some lace around the top.
I tried to remove that lace for this project, but it was really stuck on, so I left it and painted there. I wanted a darker little pot because the plate is white so I'm going to use some elephant colored chalk paint and just paint those and like I said I'm just reusing this because it's all I had but I definitely wouldn't add the fits if I did it again. Give these plates a little more detail without being too harsh because I want my little pot or planter to come out of this little plate, so using a silver liner that's a very light gray, I'm just brushing this crazy out. a circle.
I try to keep the shape circular, but I'm not too worried about what it will look like because it won't be the focal point of this project and that plant will really catch your eye. Your eye, but that bit of gray dry brushing makes it look much better quality. I hot glued them together. You can see where he had used them before. I have some more old hot glue stuck on it. so a little bit more to glue but after gluing it I add a little more hot glue on the inside just to make sure they have a really strong hold and then I have an old hobby lobby garland and I'm going to remove some of the little leaves and simply place them there.
I think they fit perfectly and I kept working with them and filling them in until the shape was the way I really liked it and I'm using some of them below. nautical rope um, I know they said this nautical rope gets shorter and shorter, but I was able to find it in all nine feet, which I was really excited about. I know a lot of people said it will even go down to seven feet so I went ahead and tied a little knot in the first one on both ends and after I liked the size I went ahead and before gluing the first one I made sure they were both the same size and then I picked some up. of these little pink metal clamps um from Dollar Tree and I love them.
It was really nice to just add my glue and then clamp it so I didn't have to sit there and wait for the glue to cool, but really nice and that dollar tree has these because I think they're going to be awesome every time I'm crafting and then just After a few seconds, I was able to remove these little clamps and they stayed perfectly in place, but I think they are adorable and look. bohemian farmhouse type, which is exactly my style at the moment, not 100 other bohemian farmhouses, but I love them, I think they are super cute and would go with any type of decor.
You could change the flowers, but it's just a really beautiful,

high

-quality piece. with these awesome dollar garden plates and this next DIY is super, super easy, there's not much to do, I'm just painting this really pretty and making it more like a planner that it's designed for, so also to get it. Remove those labels if you don't have a heat gun. I like to run them under warm water and then they come off easily, but make sure to dry them well before painting them. I'm painting this with some of my Waverly White. chalk paint and once again make sure you get to the inside and outside.
I'm going to fill this with some styrofoam and some rocks so it doesn't show as much, but I feel like if you have a thin spot of paint you can see through the container, making it lookless nice, so I wanted to dry brush this as well. I love dry brushing. I do it in everything. I feel like it really gives it extra texture and detail. She looks beautiful. I try to start lightly. I always get nervous whenever I'm dry brushing what it's going to look like, so I do really light paint and then go back and add a ton more.
The dollar tree has popped this new cork. The ribbon which I think is beautiful has a lot of detail but I never knew exactly what to use it on so I thought it would be fun to add a little ornament to the top of this pot and I'm going to heat it up, it wants to bend a little because it's more big than the um or it has different sizes in the bowl, like the top, smaller and then it gets a little bit bigger as it goes down, so I decided it was easier to just put hot glue on it.
I was putting in dots of hot glue and trying to stick it together, but it works much better if you just put a solid row of hot glue around it, working in little sections a little at a time and then I'm going to turn this into a succulent planter and add some of the beautiful succulents from the dollar tree, but it was too deep in there and I didn't want to fill it with tons of styrofoam to the top because I don't want you to be able to see it, so I decided to add these little wooden blocks in there as little risers so it has little legs in there to lift up the styrofoam and then I love these succulent dollar tree picks.
I love these big ones, I think they are so beautiful and make any project look high end but then I wanted to add some smaller ones so I have some more dollar tree ones as well as these little ones that were clips or were out of the little ones. Magnetic pots the dollar tree had so I had to push them down and work with them a little to see if I liked it and then I was able to fill this with rocks. I decided I didn't have enough. nice rock to fill the whole bottom of this and raise it all the way to the top so I decided to just cut some little pieces of burlap and tuck them around the sides and that will really fill it up so all those rocks don't sink to the bottom and these are the which I'm using if I had the small ones, I think that's what I would have used instead, but I like to use different rocks in different small planters. so that everything in my house doesn't look the same but you will have to let me know in the comments below if you have problems with this, that you like your favorite item and want to use it all the time, but then everything in your crafts starts to look the same, so whether it's using those metallic Dollar Tree words or the same rocks or I feel like everything in my house is white with the best dressing or it's gray with a distressing darker gray, but I think this is super cute.
Like I say, this is more like the intended use, but I wanted to show you how to make it look really elevated and such a pretty piece using the dollar garden plate and then move on to the next DIY. using a couple more of these little shallow garden plates, I also want to use them as a little tray and I want this to be like a tiered tray, but I'm not going to decorate it like that, you'll see what I'm talking about. About, I'm also using some of these, more candle holders. Now I paint three of them, but I only end up using two.
I was going to make it super loud, but after putting it together, I really liked it. with two, so I'm using some fixed color chalk paint, it's like this medium gray color and I just go ahead and give everything one coat, but then I decided I was going to try to put it together before I do a second coat just Make sure you cover all the glue and all the dots you will see. Like I said, I'm only going to use two candle holders, so you'll only have to paint two of them or find two, but I ended up painting three, but I'll definitely reuse this in another project.
I also had another one of those wooden circles like I used earlier on the lamp, so I decided to add it to the bottom just to give it a little extra. detail, I think it's beautiful and makes it look high end so I put the circle side down so it would be nice and smooth with this circle base and I used a mix of hot glue and e6000 and then I go ahead and turn the plate upside down and add the candle holder to the center just to make sure I place it in the middle. The e6000 added along with the hot glue will give it a longer hold and I feel like it grabs there really strong so like the hot glue will instantly hold it nice and tight but then the e6000 will cure after a few hours and it will It will hold up really well so you can see how I made it look, it looks really nice. little platter, um, but like a little tiered tray, but I'm going to decorate it more like a candle holder or a centerpiece.
I think this made such a beautiful centerpiece and you'll see what I'm talking about, but after I had everything glued together, I went ahead and did the second layer and I liked doing this. It was a little difficult to get into that second little tub in the middle or the little dish in the middle, but I felt like I had it. a lot more coverage and I knew where I needed to paint and then using the elephant color I dry brushed all of this and I think it turned out beautifully. I love how she really brought out all the little details like in that wooden circle and then Plus the candelabras, this is what it looked like before I decorated it, it just reminds me of a fountain.
I think it's very cute. You could just add flowers on the second little thing and add decoration on top, but I wanted this. like I said, to make it like a centerpiece, I added my hobby lobby garland at the bottom just to make it really full and then when it's fall, I'll add these cute little neutral colored fall picks from Dollar Tree, They are very pretty and it would be perfect to just tuck in little pieces like this, but instead the hobby lobby is selling these little cotton pods and they are saved for the fall, but I know cotton is something we can use all year round , so I'm just going to put a few in. pods down around the bottom and then for the top I want it to match the little bottom tier but I want it to have a nice candle piece in the center so it looks more like a centerpiece and then I go ahead and tuck some More of my garland from the hobby lobby, I add a little more cotton and then I go back and stick some lambs in here, this is what it all looks like together, I think it's like a really cute single piece, if you let me, you'll have let me know in the comments below how you feel about it but I think this would make a beautiful centerpiece if you want to put this in the center of your table on a table runner I think it would look beautiful and high end. and no one would know we made this with dollar plastic balls.
