May 01, 2020
Hello, thanks for joining me today, this video is an eye

lift

with

makeup

for

hooded

and

hooded

eyes

. Women, as we mature, tend to develop a little thicker skin on the eyelid, creating a shrunken appearance, a tired appearance that makes our

eyes

look.

heavy

, not as bright and not as fresh as before, so what I want to show you today is a very simple

makeup

technique to really open up the eye and even tilt things outward a little bit to create a little bit of

lift

, it all starts. With the eyebrow, the eyebrow is the window frame of the eye and therefore the shape of the eyebrow will start it, but it is actually the technique and color placement that makes a big difference in the appearance of your eye, so let's talk about a couple of issues that we women face, first of all, many of us have heaviness in the eyelid and that heaviness if we apply too much light eye shadow, remember what I have always said, the light sticks out, projects forward, so it just makes a heavier eyelid look heavier. when we put on too much light eyeshadow, another problem we have and I don't know how often this is discussed on YouTube, but when we all plucked our eyebrows in the '90s to get that thin line we thought we were giving ourselves . a big favor by giving us a little more room on the eyelid to play with because the hair covered an area that we can now use for shadow, but the problem is what we have done by tweezing these lower eyebrow hairs that we have now exposed further. brow bone, the bone protrudes and moves forward, so it combines with the excess skin that is forming on the eyelid and you get more advancement and less retreat, which is what creates the other problem that some of us might have and this is the case.

For me, my eyelid is very short, my crease comes very low here on my eyelid, so if I said put a light color here on my eyelid and then make my actual crease, what happens is it looks like I've created these little stripes. a little sliver of light, a little sliver of darkness and then a big chunk of light and I literally cut my eye into thirds to make it look smaller. The other problem, many of us have a down outer corner of our lash line, which creates a bit of a droop, so there are several techniques to lift that outer corner, as you know, I use lash extensions and a trick What you can do if you also tell your technician not to place the lashes all the way down on those last ones. lashes on the outer corner because that will accentuate a droopy look, you can tell the technician to stop and leave some of your natural lashes there to create a little more winged look and help lift a little bit, but what I want to do now is start the tutorial and show you how quick and easy it is to create an eye lift with the correct application of pencils and colors.

More Interesting Facts About,

You will be surprised, so let's move forward but not too much. here we are in the name of brevity. I applied my concealer foundation, a little powder, a little contour blush and a little lipstick. I completely left my eye area, including the eyebrows on the eyelid, so the first thing we're going to do. Start with an eyelid primer. I will list each product in the description part of the video where it says to show more. If you click on the top it will expand and see the full description, just keeping things a little tighter. and more concise as we go on this is from NARS.

It is a clear type of eyelid primer. I think primers are very important because our eyelids create oil and that oil allows makeup to sink south and a lot of you are saying what can I do to keep my makeup from getting on my lash line and foundation underneath is a must for us, ma'am, especially in doing this. I'd make it up here, so find one that works for you. There are so many on the market that do a great job so it's complete personal preference here, this one has no color and I'm just going to apply a light coat on my lid and then use a brush to blend everything but this really sets the stage for what's to come and I think it's just critical to make your eye makeup look perfect so let's start with our eyebrows and like I said this is the frame for your eyes so it's very important to make that frame look pretty, but also create a little highlight if you have a droopy eye, what will happen is if you follow the natural line of your brow or some of us tend to shade the brow and bring that line down which only accentuates the droop , so the technique here is to create a little lift here in the outer corner, it's very, very subtle, you don't want to look like you've added a streak on top of your natural brown line, but you want to bring your shadow or your pencil just a little bit Above, you would be surprised. a millimeter or two difference in what it can do for the shape of your eyes, so the shadow I'm using I introduced before it was a color science palette and I'm using the darkest shade on the bottom to basically shading my forehead.

I choose that darker shade because my root color is dark, so I want my eyebrow to match the root shade more, so I'm going to go in now and go under it with very, very light strokes, basically filling in everything. which was. plucked, as you know, these eyebrows have been tattooed, that's why I have eyebrows to begin with, thank goodness, what a help that is, so basically I move on, but what I'm going to do when I hit this outside part, now I'm going to kick it. to the side and now I just take the residual powder on the brush and go up like little tree trunks, little whisks, that little kick outward can create such a nice lift in the brow to the other side.
I always start building my base first at the bottom line and then slightly outward. Take your time with your eyebrows. It is very important that they look symmetrical and have the correct shape. Sometimes I go back and forth. I can get away a little. a color, add it and when you are happy with everything, then you will have a base to start from to get the eyebrows in place. As I mentioned, my biggest problem is looking at the crease, my crease is very, very low, so to create a more open color, I have a deeper eye socket, what I have to do is instead of highlighting here, now I get a little darker and that's the surprising thing about all this, ah, I always thought that the darkness came in here and that there was light here, well.
If you don't have a lot of eyelid space, you'll end up doing that third type of look that then cuts everything off. We're trying to open everything up, so it's going to be a very warm, gradual gradient. in color, for the purpose of this video, because I've used this palette so often, Sephora Pro in warm and I mentioned it a lot last year was part of my giveaway. I want to include this palette in this tutorial in case you're not there. and I bought this so I think you're going to get the most bang for your buck so when I talk about mid tones for example this kind of plum here or these rusts or oranges and browns all here in the mid tone that's what what I would do with on my eyelid, so since I'm wearing a lavender top, I'm going to use this kind of soft purple color from Mavi and I'm going to use a very flat brush for my application because I want to press this color. so just take your brush, press it into the color, shake off the excess and now what we're going to do is tap it on the eyelid, but we're going above our natural crease line, we're creating an artificial crease that's higher. it's going to make our lid space look bigger, so here we go, just tap, tap, push, push in and start building it.
I'm not going to go all the way to the inside corner because I want it to be a little bit lighter, tap tap tap, you want to push it that way to get the most pigmentation of your color and then I start sweeping up now you're going to see how high I've arrived and that's to create a much larger eyelid look and more of a recess, so the area that sticks out on the

heavy

hooded eyes is right here, so where it sticks out we want to create a come in look now. I'm not going to go down and come out completely and in fact, what I'm going to do, as you can see, I'm right at my brow bone now with this darker color and I'm going to go out and with a little whisk towards the outer corner of this eyebrow, so now this starts with that raised look and its very light little whisk, the next thing we're going to do is cut into a crease, so to do that I'm going to use this darker brown and I'm going to cut a new crease . line, so I'm creating the illusion that I have a higher crease, my natural crease is down here, my highest crease will be substantially above and I'm just carving a nice line again with a slightly outward risk the next thing I do.
What I'm going to do is the lash line, the last thing you want to do is create a very thick dark black line along your lashes because all you're doing is cutting into that beautiful space that you're creating so that any kind of shadow along the lash line really needs to be more of an upper line, so you can take, for example, a very fine brush. I'm two, take a very thin brush and you can use the black eye shadow and by doing that you can apply it. Your eyelashes like this. This is a more complicated technique for me because I have eyelash extensions, but I just want to offer this to you as an alternative.
What I'm going to do is use a black pencil which is great for both the waterline and the lashes. line, so now I'm going to come in from the bottom and I'm going to get to my waterline and just smudge the lash line a little bit, being careful not to go all the way back down. I'm creating an outward look, so I don't want to use anything heavy to complement this. Now I'm going to take my little thin brush in the black shadow and just this outer corner of my lash at the top I'm hugging it right there along the lash line, but what am I going to do?
What you have to do is start beating and go up creating a small cat's eye with the powder. It's less harsh, less severe, moving towards this area of the fold, so now we're creating a lift with this darker color, being careful not to go too far. down because now we're correcting any drooping that we might have in the shape of our eyes, so at this point now I'm going to take that initial color that we started with with that kind of warm plum and I'm going to use a little bit of brush to blend and now I'm going to bring everything together so I go here and to the side and connect my carved crease and a little bit of a very light black line and this creates a more subtle look if you want a little bit more intense black line you can come back again and run it a little bit on top if you want, but again, it's just a little movement up and not going too far.
So the next thing we want to do is blend all of this together, but what I'm trying to avoid is having a very thick white area and highlighting here because of the brow bone, so I want to soften everything up and I'm going to choose a neutral color. that can be blended, so for example a good idea would be something like this, it's lighter but not as white, so this is a good way to bring it all together with a blending brush and now soften it. top and remove any harsh lines, blending is key with anything, as you know, we're going to highlight our brow bone in just a second, but that area isn't going to be as big as you normally would, so this is a little bit.
From a tan color close to the color of the skin, you can do a lighter mauve. I'm just going with something that's a little more neutral and just blends in, keeping everything at this angle from the outer corner of my lash up to the outer corner of my brow, but you can already see the illusion that this is creating and in the fact that I look like I have a much bigger eyelid than before and things are going in instead of going forward, okay, so I'm going to continue with this now. with a highlight color for the eyebrow, the lightest one, and it's going to be a very thin flat pencil and I'm just going to take this and literally about 2/3 of the way in, just swipe it or right there under my eyebrow, like this What I'm doing doing is separating a little bit between this darker color of my eyebrow and the eyeshadow colors that I just created, which helps the eyebrow stand out really well and I will also do the same on the inner corners of my eyes of the same color right there a little bit of V this helps brighten the eye now at this point you can stop and be totally happy with this I am NOT a fan of thick bottom eyeliner in any way I'm going to brush my lashes. they tend to get stuck after you've been manipulating my eyes for so long so you can either stop like I said or the next thing you can do is do a lower eye rim, the good old smoky eye, yes you can do a smoky eye with squinting eyes won't make them look smaller the key is I think using a brown instead of black just isn't harsh so I'm just going to line the bottom inner edge in brown and then I'm going to Take the brush that had that shade ofmoth that we use on the lid and I'm going to lightly blend along my lashes so it's not a dark color that I'm working with, it's a medium and it looks good on me. there on my lash line now I'm softening so while it's doing that I build a little bit of definition on my lower lash line without pulling down too much and then you just take a brush that has a little bit of concealer on it and if necessary, you can add a little more correction if you bought it too much.
The most important thing is this and then once you're done, I've already applied the concealer normally after eye makeup. I would apply concealer, but like I said in the name of brevity here. I'm just trying to speed things up and then set everything up and when you use the powder again, make sure there are no heavy bottom lines, but what we've done is okay, we've made a line, but what we've done is open the eye, create more room for color, create a new crease by going up and cutting that crease just below the brow bone, we've angled things slightly above where our lower eyelid ends to help eliminate that droop.
We've applied all of our darker color outward to find this line. We've taken this line slightly outward to create more of a cat eye and wide eyed look, but it's amazing what you can do. What to do with applying eye shadow and just slightly altering your eyebrows, okay, all together, I think it's good to see it in perspective, zoom out a little, you can see the color of the clothes, how it plays with the color of the makeup, but really what I love about this is the fact that you can create this look with so many different colors, which is why I love a palette like this that offers so much variety and opportunities, but again, any of these mid-tone shades, medium rich is what you are looking for.
We will start with the eyelid and take it up. The best colors to carve that crease. Brown. Any shade of brown. Any shade of plum black. I think it's too dark and harsh and you'll most likely see that line, so keep going. It's close to the color you choose for your lid, but just a little richer and deeper. The black hugs best along the upper lash line and again creates a little movement. You have an option if you want to do something at the bottom. eyelid or not, if you want to make a waterline and blend, you can do it, as you can see it works and does not create a downward droop or you can choose not to do it, but as we know and as we get older, it is better to do it less and less .
The lower lash line and keeping everything focused, lashes up by the way are key, as you know I didn't have to apply mascara because I already have lash extensions, but spend your time on the mascara and give it a couple of coats because now those eyelashes move. up and curling up again have the same lifting effect of lifting everything up, so spend your time on two coats to get the top if you want to make cool eyelash extensions. I think they are a great help to me as I have to go through this. process every day, it really saves me a good five minutes of my makeup routine and I even used to use a strip of false lashes on the outer corner for work, so it's really saving me some time and I find it easier, but I really hope this can be debunked.
