Every CRAZY Pokedex Entry in Pokemon Sword & Shield

May 30, 2021
- Greetings Pokefans! Michael here, and I was finally able to read

every

Pokedex

entry

in Pokémon Sword and Shield. Yes, all of them. My efficiency improved once I acquired the sacred texts! While I was at it, I compiled a list of all the Pokedex entries that I thought were the most interesting, because they were surprising, funny, disturbing, or taught us a really interesting new fact about a certain Pokémon. I will now present that list to you, along with comments that are sure to enrich the mind and enliven the soul. Or don't do any of those things.

Also, don't forget to subscribe to my channel because I'm almost at one million subscribers. Well, we can start now. The

entry

for Thwackey's Shield reads: When he plays fast rhythms in battle, he gets so caught up in the rhythm that he doesn't even realize that he has already knocked out his opponent. This is funny to me, because while Thwackey could just be banging his drumsticks against the nearby rocks or something and ignoring the unconscious Pokémon there, I like to think that he's hitting the enemy Pokémon, so he's just hitting the Pokémon. enemy. take him out while he's already unconscious, and you're hitting a dead Horsea if this is done after the expansion passes come out.

More Interesting Facts About,

every crazy pokedex entry in pokemon sword shield...

The entry for Sobble's Sword says: When afraid, this Pokémon cries. Their tears contain the chemical power of 100 onions and the attackers will not be able to resist crying. I'm not a scientist here, but 100 onions? One is enough to make you dance. 100 could make you go blind. The entry for Blipbug's Sword reads: A constant gatherer of information, this Pokémon is highly intelligent. Very strong is what it is not. I'm including this because I think the completely unnecessary shadowing given to Blipbug is pretty funny. The entry for Grubbin's Sword reads: Its natural enemies, such as Rookidee, can flee rather than risk being trapped in its large jaws that can break thick tree branches.
every crazy pokedex entry in pokemon sword shield
I thought this was interesting because now we know Rookidee and Grubbin are enemies, so it's okay. Corvisquire's Sword entry reads: Intelligent enough to use tools in battle, these Pokémon have been seen picking up rocks and throwing them or using ropes to wrap around enemies. I like this 'dex' entry because I think it's something really interesting for Corvisquire to do. I feel like most Pokémon that use tools in battle are those that have them as part of their designs, like Farfetch'd for example. But Corvisquire will throw stones he finds or gather ropes and tie them together.
every crazy pokedex entry in pokemon sword shield
That's just fun! The Shield of Thievul entry says: With a lithe body and sharp claws, it goes around stealing food and eggs. Boltund is his natural enemy. This is another 'dex entry that I like because I love ones that reveal a connection between two different species of Pokémon. So we know that Thievul and Boltund hate each other. Isn't it fun? Next up is Dubwool, and I think both of his 'dex entries are interesting. Her Sword entry says: Weave a rug from her stretchy wool and you'll end up with something more like a trampoline. You will start bouncing the moment you set foot on it.
This doesn't make physical sense, I don't think. Because for something to bounce, it has to flex down and then come back up, and if it's on flat ground, I don't know how it would flex down enough to bounce, but still, the idea is funny. And its entry on the Shield reads: Its majestic horns are intended solely to impress the opposite sex. They never see any use in battle. That's another interesting fact. He has some big, gnarly horns that he could definitely impale someone with, but he just doesn't have them. Purrloin's Sword's entry says: Steals things from people just to amuse their frustration.
There is a rivalry between this Pokémon and Nickit. So, the adult fox hates dogs, but the baby fox hates cats. The entry for Budew's Sword reads: The pollen it releases contains poison. If this Pokémon is raised in clean water, the toxicity of the poison increases. I think it's fascinating, I would have expected that the worse the water, the more potent the poison, but I guess the healthier the plant, the more it can fight off enemies. Alolan Ninetales' Sword entry says: A deity resides in the snowy mountains where this Pokémon lives. In ancient times, he was worshiped as the incarnation of that deity.
This one is fascinating to me because it doesn't just say that rumors say there is a deity in the mountains. It just says that there's a deity there, where Alolan Ninetales is, which is like, well, a confirmation of some kind of spirit. That's fine, I guess. The Vanillish Shield entry reads: Blasts cold air that reaches negative 148 degrees Fahrenheit at enemies, freezing them. But then he spares their lives, he is a kind Pokémon. This one took me by surprise. It's like, okay, fighting the cold air fiercely, oh, does it save your life? He's kind, wow. Good for that.
The entry for Snorunt's Shield says: It can only survive in cold areas. It bounces happily, even in environments as cold as negative 150 degrees Fahrenheit. I think this entry is interesting, because the coldest temperature ever recorded on Earth at ground level is around negative 130 degrees Fahrenheit. That means there are environments in the Pokémon world that are colder than the coldest temperature ever recorded on Earth that we've ever recorded; the Ice Age might have been colder, but we weren't recording it. So I think it's interesting and surprising. Well, I guess it's not that surprising that if you have tons of ice Pokémon that can shoot colder temperatures all the time, you'll end up with really cold areas.
Next up is Dwebble and I think his two 'dex entries are interesting. When he finds a stone attractive, he creates a hole inside it and uses it as his home. This Pokémon is the natural enemy of Roggenrola and Rolycoly. This is funny to me because it makes sense. You know, Rolycoly and Roggenrola are rocks. It makes sense that they wouldn't like Pokémon who might look at them and say "oh, a new home!" And its entry in the Shield reads: First it tries to find a rock to live on, but if there are no suitable rocks, Dwebble can move to the ports of a Hippowdon.
I love this, I think it's adorable that a Hippowdon can be wandering around and have cute little Dwebbles living in the ports on the side. That's just fun. Crustle's Shield entry says: His thick claws are his best weapons. They are powerful enough to break Rhyperior's shell. This is shocking to me, since Rhyperior is an armored thing, and apparently just these claws from a bug Pokémon are enough to break it, like shit! The Golett Shield entry says: This Pokémon was created from clay. She received orders from his master many thousands of years ago and still follows them to this day.
I think this is interesting because I don't know how practical it is. How could a Golett still try to carry out orders that were given to it 1,000 years ago? That's just wild! Next up is Golurk, another one where I think both 'dex entries are interesting. The Sword of Him entry says: Artillery platforms built into the walls of ancient castles served as positions from which Golurk could fire energy bolts. That's fucking cool. Instead of lame catapults on your castle walls, you would simply build platforms for a Golurk to stand on and fire laser beams at the enemy.
That's fucking sick. And his entry in the Shield reads: There is a theory that within Golurk there is a perpetual motion machine that produces unlimited energy, but this belief has not been proven. I love the nod to a physics concept here. In case you didn't know, a perpetual motion machine is something that can never exist, because the idea is that it creates energy from nothing, which is impossible. So the idea that a Golurk could be creating energy out of nothing is just cool. The Sword of Musharna entry says: When dark mists emanate from his body, do not get too close.
If you do, your nightmares will come true. Does this not only say that you will have terrible nightmares, but that your nightmares will become real? Like illusions or hallucinations? Or is this Musharna just going to create horrible things out of nothing? That's disturbing and just plain weird! Snover's Shield entry reads: The berries growing around its belly are like popsicles. The Darumaka of Galar love these berries. I think that's adorable. Snover grows frozen berries on his body, and Galarian Darumaka says, "Oh, that's delicious, let me eat some!" And that actually leads to the next entry. The Abomasnow Sword entry says: If he sees any group of Darumaka chasing Snover, he drives them away, swinging his large arms like hammers.
So apparently Galarian Darumaka taking those berries isn't something Snover or his father Abomasnow agree with, so Abomasnow has to chase those little hooligans away. The entry for Pangoro's Sword reads: This Pokémon is quick to anger and has no problem using its prodigious strength to get its way. He lives for duels against Obstagoon. This is another interesting Pokémon species rivalry here, and it makes a lot of sense. Two big, dark guys who don't like each other? That is very beautiful. The Shield of Klink entry reads: Klink is suspected of being the inspiration behind the invention of the first gears by the ancients.
This is fascinating to me, because it directly conflicts with some information about Klink that we got in a previous game. Back in Black and White, Professor Juniper says that Klink was first seen 100 years ago in Chargestone Cave. But if Klink appeared only 100 years ago, how could ancient people be inspired to make gears with Klink? What came first, the team or the Klink? The Pokémon research community doesn't seem to know! The Shield of Bronzor entry reads: Polishing Bronzor until it shines causes its surface to reflect the truth, according to common lore. Be that as it may, Bronzor hates being polished.
This is interesting to me, because clearly Bronzor has some kind of instinct not to show people the truth. Maybe some bad things happened in the past when people saw the truth, and that resulted in terrible things, so Bronzor says "no, you can't polish me, "you can't know the truth." Or whatever, because it could have dire consequences. The entry for Dusknoir's Shield reads: With his mouth on his belly, Dusknoir swallows his target whole. The soul is the only thing he eats, Dusknoir vomits up the body before leaving. Oh, God, that's it. bad.! It just swallows it all, eats its soul, and then spits out this soulless body that it just leaves there.
Oh my god, ghost Pokémon are messed up! Trubbish's Shield entry says: This Pokémon was born from a bag full of trash. Galarian Weezing enjoys Trubbish's burping fumes. This is another fun Pokémon relationship entry. It seems that Galarian Weezing likes hanging out with Trubbish because he thinks his burps are tasty. Barraskewda's Sword entry says : This Pokémon has a jaw that is as sharp as a spear and strong as steel. Apparently Barraskewda meat is also surprisingly tasty. Add Barraskewda to the list of Pokémon it would probably eat. Kantonian Meowth's Shield dex entry reads: He washes his face regularly to keep the coin on his forehead spotless.
He doesn't get along with Galarian Meowth. This is interesting to me, because I just assumed that regional variants of different types would get along, because they are still the same species. But apparently, Kantonian Meowth and Galarian Meowth don't like each other. The entry for Galarian Meowth's Sword reads: Living with wild, seafaring people has hardened this Pokémon's body so much that parts of it have turned to iron. This is interesting to me, because I hadn't heard about how Galarian Meowth came to be, and apparently it's because he lived with Vikings. Well. The entry for the Persian Shield reads: His elegant and refined demeanor clashes with that of the barbarian Perrserker.
The relationship between the two is one of mutual contempt. So, Kantonian Meowth and Galarian Meowth's mutual dislike continues in their evolved form. The entry for Sylveon's Shield reads: There is a Galarian fairy tale that describes a beautiful Sylveon defeating a terrible dragon Pokémon. I love that. Instead of having a knight defeat an evil dragon, they have the adorable fairy Pokémon defeat the dragon, which is, of course, appropriate. The Appletun Shield entry says: His body is covered in sweet nectar and the skin on his back is especially delicious. Children used to have it as a snack.
Dear God, I hope that doesn't hurt! Imagine this Appletun walking around and the kids just ripping pieces off your back to eat. My God, like I told you, I hope it doesn't hurt, and that it grows back, because if not, poor Appletun! The Sword of Meowstic entry says: Revealing the eye-shaped patterns inside his eyes will unleash his psychic powers. However, it usually keeps the patterns hidden. Okay, so this isn't new information. It actually mentions this in the Meowstic Pokedex entries from the previous generation, but I wanted to include it because I had no idea, because I almost never seeMeowstic nowhere to be found.
And have you seen the eye patterns? Like when he shows them? Let me show you what that looks like. See this? See these

crazy

, eye-disturbing things? Oh my god, these Pokémon are freaking scary! The Sword of Aromatisse entry reads: The scent constantly emitted from its fur is so powerful that this Pokémon's companions will eventually lose their sense of smell. So, pro tip: don't spend so much time near an Aromatisse, because then you'll never be able to smell anything again, which is, oh my god. Next up is Sirfetch'd, and I want to talk about his two 'dex' entries.
Its Sword entry says: Only Farfetch'd who have survived many battles can achieve this evolution. When this Pokémon's leek withers, it will retreat from combat. So this is not new information. They mentioned that when Sirfetch'd was first revealed many months ago. I wanted to mention it though because it sets up the Shield's dex entry. After deflecting attacks with his tough blade

shield

, he counterattacks with his sharp leek stalk. The leek stem is both weapon and food. Wait. Are you telling me that he values this leek so much that if it withers he simply retreats from the fight, but at the same time he also eats it?
Why would you eat something that you're worried is going to wilt? I feel like that would speed up the detonating process. This makes no sense. Toxicroak's Shield entry reads: Emits a victorious caw when its prey falls in defeat. This Pokémon and Seismitoad are related species. I love that you mention this. It's a cool confirmation of the Darwinian evolution happening in the Pokémon world. Seismitoad and Toxicroak had a common ancestor and are closely related species, and this 'dex entry totally confirms that, which is awesome! Golisopod's Shield entry says: They live in sunken ships or holes in the bottom of the sea.
When Golisopod and Grapploct fight, the loser becomes the winner's meal. That's metal as hell! Golisopod and Grapploct fight to the death on a sunken ship and the loser is eaten by the winner? Holy shit! That's scary and also really cool. Grimmsnarl's Sword entry says: With its hair wrapped around its body helping to enhance its muscles, this Pokémon can overwhelm even Machamp. And I don't think it's just the fairy type's advantage over fighting. I think it means saying that the hair on Grimmsnarl's body makes him so physically strong that he is stronger than Machamp, who is wild.
Perhaps Machamp could overwhelm Grimmsnarl if he didn't shave his entire body. The entry for Hattrem's Sword reads: No matter who you are, if you bring strong emotions close to this Pokémon, it will violently silence you. I'm going to go ahead and just say that it's probably not safe to have a Hattrem around, because whether you're really sad or really happy, this thing is going to punch you in the face. The entry for Bisharp's Shield reads: Violent conflicts break out between Bisharp and Fraxure over locations where whetstones can be found. This is fascinating to me, because both Bisharp and Fraxure have entire 'dexes that talk about how they sharpen parts of their bodies with whetstones.
That's why it makes a lot of sense that they fight over areas with really good sharpening stones. I love that they're looking back at past facts about Pokémon, and then connecting them with new facts, like, that's awesome! The Shield of Sawk entry reads: The karate chops of a Sawk who has trained to the limit can cleave the ocean itself. Wait. You. Can you cut the ocean? That. And what does that mean? It is a liquid, you cannot cut a liquid. Your hand would cut it and yes, it might create an air bubble, but then the water just pools back together.
What are you talking about Sawk? This entry was written by a Sawk. The Galarian Weezing Shield entry reads: Long ago, during a time when hordes of factories polluted the air, Weezing took this form for some reason. I love this backstory, because it makes so much sense. Galarian Weezing eats poisonous gases and then spews out non-poisonous gases. Purifies the air. I think it's cool that humans fouled Galar's air so terribly that a poison-type Pokémon evolved to help save the environment by purifying the air and ending up taking on the appearance of a factory in the process.
That's fascinating and super creative, and I like Galarian Weezing even more because of this 'dex entry. The entry for the Sword of Accelgor says: It moves with blinding speed and hurls poison at enemies. Featuring Accelgor as a main character is a sure way to make a movie or comic popular. I love that this 'dex entry just acknowledges that Accelgor looks like a superhero. That's funny. The entry for Elgyem's Sword says: If this Pokémon stands near a television, strange landscapes will appear on the screen. It is said that this landscape is from their home. That's

crazy

to me.
Why don't people study this more? You just put Elgyem next to a TV and get a live feed of a life-sustaining alien planet? That's crazy! The entry for Beheeyem's Sword reads: Every time a Beheeyem visits a farm, a Dubwool mysteriously disappears. That's so funny, Beheeyem just kidnaps sheep. That's so fun. The entry for Braviary's Shield reads: Because this Pokémon is impulsive and belligerent, it is Corviknight that took on the role of transportation in Galar. I think it's a fun fact. They considered Braviary as the flying taxi Pokémon, instead of Corviknight, but they couldn't because it's an idiot.
The entry for the Sword of Skorupi reads: After digging through the sand, it waits patiently for its prey to approach. This Pokémon and Sizzlipede share a common ancestry. This is another really impressive 'dex' entry, like Toxicroak and Seismitoad. It confirms common ancestry and Darwinian evolution in the Pokémon world. That's fascinating and I love that you confirm it. The Shield of Drapion entry says: He is so cruel that he is called the Sand Demon. However, when he confronts Hippowdon, Drapion keeps a low profile and will never look for a fight. So Drapion is a big, boisterous, ferocious Pokémon, but it's terrified of Hippowdon, which, honestly, hippos are terrifying.
The entry for Litwick's Shield reads: The younger the life this Pokémon absorbs, the brighter and creepier the flame on its head burns. Oh my god, I know Pokémon 'dex entries have talked about murdering children before, but still, this one seems different to me, it's like this cute little candle sucked the life out of a child. Does it make the flame burn brighter? So he's more motivated to kill children than adults, like, ugh, that's right, ugh! The entry for Malamar's Shield reads: Malamar's hypnotic powers are said to have played a role in certain events that changed history.
I think that's really cool, honestly. For example, crazy historical events in the Pokémon world played out differently than they would have because Malamar hypnotizes and controls people's minds. That's great. The entry for Weavile's Sword reads: They attack their prey in packs. Prey as large as Mamoswine fall easily into the hands of the teamwork of a group of Weavile. That's great. Do weaviles hunt in packs and eliminate mammoths? Holy shit! That is awesome! The Shield of Mareanie entry reads: Unlike their Alolan counterparts, the Mareanie of the Galar region have not yet realized that Corsola branches are delicious.
Oh, oh, oh, really? Oh, haven't they figured that out? Oh well, hmmm, why might that be? Well, maybe that's because all the Corsola in the Galar region have ghost branches, which probably don't taste like anything! The entry for Hippowdon's Sword says: Stones can get stuck in ports on their bodies. Dwebble helps dislodge those stones, so Hippowdon takes care of these Pokémon. I love this, previous reports about Dwebble talked about them living in the ports of Hippowdon, but never said if Hippowdon was okay with that. This 'dex entry confirms that Hippowdown and Dwebble have a symbiotic relationship.
So Hippowdown just wanders around the desert with cute little Dwebble living next to him. That's fun and I love it. The entry for Durant's Shield reads: With their large jaws, these Pokémon can smash their way through rocks. They work together to protect their eggs from Sandaconda. This is a curious fact, because we knew that Heatmor hunted Durant, but we didn't know that Sandaconda also hunts Durant's eggs. So that's interesting. The entry for the Sword of Honedge reads: Honedge's soul once belonged to a person who was killed long ago by the

sword

that forms Honedge's body.
Alright, hold down F! We've known for a while that Honedge is a

sword

that was possessed by some spirit, but it has never been said before that specifically the spirit possessing the sword is the person who was killed by the sword. That's horrible! The Shield 'dex entry for Aegislash Blade Forme says that: Once upon a time, a king with an Aegislash reigned over the land. His Pokémon eventually took its life and his Pokémon fell with it. I need more information about this story. Was the king cruel to Aegislash and finally he took revenge? Or did the Aegislash finally decide "No, I want the power!" And then he just killed his lifelong best friend?
Like, I don't know, he's fascinating and terrifying, and just stay away from Aegislash. Clobbopus's Shield entry says: His tentacles detach easily, but he is not alarmed when that happens, he knows they will grow back. He is as smart as a three year old. That's just funny. It simply confirms the intelligence of a Pokémon based on the intelligence of a child. That's just funny. The Mantyke's Sword entry says: Mantyke living in Galar seems to be somewhat slow. The colder waters of the seas in this region may be the cause. I think that's a fun fact! Mantyke and Mantine potentially also become slower in colder water.
What's interesting to me is that Mantine also lives in Sinnoh, which also has a cold climate, but that doesn't say anything about them being slower there as well. The Type: Null's Sword entry says: It is rumored that the theft of top-secret research notes led to the creation of a new instance of this Pokémon in the Galar region. That's a really cool story. Of course, we know that Type: Null was created by Aether in the Alola region, but it explains why Type: Null is here in the Galar region because someone stole Aether's research and then traveled to Galar and created it here.
That's really cool! The entry for Sliggoo's Shield says: The lump on his back contains his tiny brain. He only thinks about food and escaping from his enemies. That's a fun little Pokémon anatomy lesson. A Sliggoo's brain is in its small hump. The entry for Dreepy's Sword reads: After being reborn as a ghost Pokémon, Dreepy wanders through the areas he used to inhabit when he was alive in prehistoric seas. That's great! So, is Dreepy a fossil Pokémon? But instead of being revived in the typical way, he was revived in some spiritual way and ended up as a ghost Pokémon instead of a dragon/rock Pokémon?
I don't know, that's great! The entry for Dragapult's Shield reads: Apparently, the Dreepy inside Dragapult's horns is eagerly waiting to be launched at Mach speeds. I love that. For a while I was thinking "Man, that seems a little cruel, that Dragapult is just shooting his sons at his enemies." But apparently the Dreepys like it, so it's good. The Shield dex entry for Zacian's Hero of Many Battles form says: This Pokémon has slept for many years. Some say she is Zamazenta's older sister, others say the two Pokémon are rivals. I like this because while Legendary Pokémon are technically genderless, this gives them an associated gender, so Zacian is more associated. with the feminine side of things.
Although, I don't know if Zamazenta is also supposed to be feminine or if he's supposed to be more masculine, and they are counterparts, I don't know. I just think it's interesting. Now for some interesting Pokedex entries for Gigantamax forms. Gigantamax Orbeetle's Shield entry says: If he used

every

last bit of his power, he could control the minds of all living beings in his vicinity. That's scary, stay away from a Gigantamax Orbeetle. or you will be mind controlled. My God. The Gigantamax Kingler Shield entry says: The bubbles it spews are strongly alkaline. The bodies of any opponents hit by them will quickly melt.
So apparently G-Max Foam Burst just kills things. Oh Lord. The Gigantamax Machamp Shield entry says: One of these Pokémon once used its immeasurable strength to lift a large ship that was in trouble. He then took the ship to port. I love this dex entry, because a lot of the Gen Seven Mega Evolution dex entries talk about how they are violent and vicious and just want to fight, and are almost seemingly evil creatures. But with Gigantamax Machamp, he rescued a ship, just like this giant four-armed thing that walks through ocean water, picks up a ship, and brings it back to shore.
It's heroic and I think it's amazing. The entrance ofGigantamax Shield Gengar says: He sets traps, hoping to steal the lives of those he traps. If you stand in front of his mouth, you will hear the voices of your loved ones calling to you. That is very disturbing. Are they the voices of deceased loved ones calling you from the terrible beyond? Or are they the ones who are still alive and tricking you into coming closer? I don't know, it's scary. The Gigantamax Coalossal Shield entry reads: When Galar was hit by a harsh cold snap, this Pokémon served as a giant heating stove and saved many lives.
This is another great one! It's another heroic Gigantamax story, which is awesome! I want to know more about them and not just how they can destroy things. The entry for Gigantamax Meowth's Sword reads: The pattern that appeared on his giant coin is believed to be the key to unlocking the secrets of the Dynamax phenomenon. If that's true, it's pretty simple, because supposedly that pattern is just the Japanese kanji for big. So the secret to Dynamax Pokémon is that they get big. And finally, Gigantamax Lapras's Sword entry says: More than 5,000 people can travel in his shell at a time.
And it is a very comfortable ride, without the slightest shaking or rocking. It might seem like it would be a great business model for them to make some kind of cruise line with Gigantamax Lapras, but he can only stay Gigantamax for three turns, and that would be a bit bad if he went back to normal in the middle of the ocean. So there we have it! Those are the Pokémon Sword and Shield dexentries that I thought were the most interesting.
