As much as we do it, and you know, that's something that's become very popular among us animatronic fans, in the sub mccanna phobia or the fear of partially or fully submerged human-created objects. We have received your comments and we have heard loud and clear what you wanted. This is why today we bring you Disney's phobia of McCanna.
disney submechanophobia
We're going to rank these attractions and animatronics based on how helpful they are, how scary they are, and of course the actual status of attraction number seven, the Jungle Cruise animals, Jungle Cruise was one of them. The Disneyland opening day attractions back in 1955, creating this attraction was a great challenge due to the budget that Disney had for it and the technological advances they had at that time, at first the attraction was supposed to have real animals, but after the Imagineers realized that the animals probably sleep all day and are very difficult to maintain. These plans were abandoned to resolve this.

disney submechanophobia...

Walt was inspired by the giant squid that Disney had created for the movie 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea in 1954. Yes, that giant, amazing, scary thing, imagine swimming nearby. that thing so inspired by this imaginary these mechanical animals these animals were not animatronic clear audio since they had not yet been invented they were previous technology that allowed these figures to have basic movements in 1962 it was renewed for the first time adding more submerged figures and new scenes such as the Indian elephant's bathing pool and then in 1964 animatronics were added in new scenes such as the rhinoceros chasing the explorers in a polar scene.

Disney continued to add and by 1976 there were 31 new animatronics in the attraction, Jungle Cruise also opened. at Walt Disney World in 1971, Tokyo Disneyland in 1983, and Hong Kong Disneyland in 2005, although this attraction has many submerged animatronics such as crocodiles, hippos, and elephants, we placed it last because, after all, they are just animals, so that are not so scary. If you look at them that way, but still this cute partially submerged elephant can cause some discomfort among people who experience submccanna phobia, the most disturbing thing about all this is seeing how the animatronics work when the water is clear. spooky show number 6 river boat discovery Iguanodon we have talked about river boat discovery non-stop on this channel, but if you haven't found it and want to know more about the history of this attraction watch this video, but in a nutshell, this The attraction It was a huge disaster from the beginning, this was because the attraction was completely improvised and the original plans were never completed due to the budget and many other problems.

The attraction was supposed to be full of mythological animals such as unicorns and Kraken, which would have terrified anyone with a phobia and even a dragon like the one we found in the castle at Disneyland Paris, but these plans unfortunately fell through when Michael Eisner decided to create a huge and expensive Iguanodon animatronic to get people excited about the new dinosaur movie, Discovery Riverboats. a disaster and this caused it to be renovated a few years after it opened and then closed permanently yet the Iguanodon animatronic was equally impressive and terrifying we were able to see the huge animatronic partially submerged in the waters of the river watching its fluid movement in the water it was certainly impressive but what makes this animatronic animal creepier than the Jungle Cruise animatronic is that over time this animatronic started to wear out and even got to a point where it had some internal mechanisms exposed.
The piston lasts a long time because it was removed from the attraction and taken to the Disneyland Paris studio. tram tour where it remained abandoned in a terrible state gasps I could only see pieces of a headless and armless animatronic the Iguanodon remained like this for many years until it was removed without notice and will not return since the tram tour closed to make way Towards the edge of the park's new galaxy and the riverboats of discovery of the lands of Arendelle may not have been the best attraction in Disney history or even a good one, but Alla Dart didn't deserve that number four destination.
The mysteries of the Nautilus we have talked a lot about. Disney's long relationship with Jules Verne inspired the attractions, so it's no surprise we did it again when Disneyland Paris was being developed. Tony Baxter was appointed creative director and one of the jobs he had to do was create a new concept for the Tomorrowland parks. Baxter found this task exciting because he wanted to take inspiration from the previously canceled Disneyland land, Discovery Bay. Discovery Bay would have been a steampunk port city with many Jules Verne-inspired attractions. Watch this video if you want to know more about this land.
So, using the concept of Discovery Bay, he created Discovery Land. Discovery Land is a gleaming golden coastal port that represents the future, but as imagined by the past, a tomorrow that HG Wells Leonardo da Vinci and of course Jules Verne could have imagined, this land has many attractions, but there is one attraction unique that we cannot find in any other Disney park in the world, the mysteries of the Nautilus, this guided attraction takes us inside the Nautilus, where we can explore its numerous rooms, including Captain Nemo's room, all while simulating. which were deep in the ocean, the best room in this entire attraction is the main hall, this is the heart of the Nautilus books, artifacts and numerous treasures from the sea are gathered here, right in the center of the room there are two closed windows that look into the ocean, one of these windows opens every so often so we can see the depths of the sea, which is scary enough, but suddenly a giant squid starts attacking the Nautilus, the defense mechanisms are activated and they manage to scare away the giant beast.
This animatronic has very fluid tentacle and mouth movements and two huge red eyes which along with the light and bubble effects make this counter quite impressive and scary at the same time, the animatronic is approximately 15 feet long and is completely submerged in water, which makes it look like it's a real squid attacking us under the sea, so of course we needed to put it high on the list because not only is it a submerged animatronic but it also looks more threatening than the previous ones because of the attack, not to mention its size. and scary appearance unfortunately due to technical problems this scene was shortened today the animatronic is in B mode so it doesn't move as much as before there are no current plans to fix it but hopefully Disney will do it soon and return it to its former glory so it can continue to scare us underwater ride number three in 1959 Tomorrowland had its first major expansion this expansion included the Matterhorn an expanded version of Autopia the Disneyland monorail the speedboat cruise and the underwater ride this attraction opened on June 14, 1959 as One of the first attractions to require an electronic ticket.
This attraction is number 3 on the list because it is full of different scenes full of props and animatronics throughout the ride. In the first part of the tour we can find a giant clam, sea turtles and eels. crabs fighting lobsters and some other marine animals the next scene is nightmare fuel we arrive at a place that is full of different shipwrecks and sharks but this is just the beginning then we arrive at the North Pole when suddenly the sonar detects a polar ice cap which forces the submarine to go down to the depths of the ocean where we find ourselves in total darkness surrounded by strange creatures one of these creatures is a terrifying giant squid this scene in our opinion is the most terrifying of all the size of the squid combined with the movement and The darkness The environment is imposing and terrifying, and in this scene we find many other creatures that can change color at will.
The journey continues and as we move we find a mermaid swimming next to us. Everything seems to be fine and apparently we will no longer be suffering, but. then the submarine takes us to the lost city of Atlantis, we are surrounded by rune statues and a suspicious giant tail. We continued on our way until we came face to face with a giant sea snake. This figure may not look scary and even has a comical appearance. appearance but that does not mean the size of the character and the fact that it is completely submerged does not cause chills on September 7, 1998 the underwater ride was closed forever and remained abandoned for seven years it was rumored that several projects were planned for the abandoned attraction but nothing was done then in 2005 the lagoon was drained the animatronic sea snake was removed and it was auctioned at the van Eaton galleries auction which is part of Disneyland years later in 2007 the underwater ride Finding Nemo was inaugurated this attraction is very similar but much friendlier using the latest technology when projecting the characters in the scenes while the attraction is friendlier does not mean that people with a phobia of mechanics will not feel a little uncomfortable like the jellyfish or The Anglerfish Encounter This attraction is so high on the list because it has so many scenes, figures and combinations: phobias, mccanna sub phobia and Thalassa phobia number two. 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea When the Imagineers were planning the Florida project or what would become known as Disney World, they were deciding which attractions would open in the park by looking at the Disneyland attractions and choosing which of them they would duplicate in the new park one of these attractions would be the popular submarine ride ticket attraction the project was entrusted to Disney legend Claude Coats and his young imaginary The Apprentice Tony Baxter and they decided to do a submarine ride with an also popular former Disneyland attraction when Disneyland opened.
Walt was not completely satisfied with the outcome of Tomorrowland, so he decided to open an attraction based on the hit film from Walt Disney Productions. 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea shipped the movie sets to Anaheim and the attraction was a huge success, so Imagineers took the concept of the under the sea journey and the 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea themed exhibit and created a completely new, fantastic attraction. The redesigned attraction went from science to fantasy ride by adding key scenes from the film and creating submarines to mimic the look of Harper Goff's iconic Nautilus in place of the submarines at Disneyland and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea became one of the most beloved attractions in the history of Disney World, but While it was an incredible ride, it was definitely a nightmare for people who suffer from submccanna phobia.
The ride not only simulated a deep dive into the depths of the sea, sometimes surrounded by darkness, but also showed visitors a host of animatronics and ruins while playing a spooky organ. A looped version of the film's main theme, the trip was very similar to the submarine trip. It started on the underwater planes around Vulcania, where visitors were able to see many marine animals that might cause some discomfort if you had a phobia, but we are not very scary during this time. During part of the trip, divers came into view and we could see them working on beds. of algae and fighting with rogue turtles, but again, there was nothing to be afraid of, but then a storm began on the surface and the captain was ordering the submarine to descend to the depths as a precaution.
Within minutes, the devastation such natural phenomena can create became clear with the ominous graveyard of lost ships with centuries-old shipwrecks scattered across the seabed guarded by sharks. These shipwrecks were absolutely terrifying, especially when combined with the music and the darkness surrounding the submarine next to the The submarine reached the North Pole, where it would pass through a collection of large icebergs and then plunge into the abyss, where visitors saw examples of the many rare and strange species of deep-sea fish that thrive in that environment. The ride seems to get scarier with each scene. but what came next is the most terrifying part: we enter the ruins of Atlantis, find ourselves surrounded by ancient ruins and destroyed statues and then we begin to see a hint of what awaits us: a huge sea serpent surrounded by mermaids guards a treasure full of jewels. and gold, if this wasn't spooky enough for you, we begin to experience turbulence caused by the volcano that submerged Atlantis all those years ago, the captain decides to return to the surface, but before we can make a spooky discovery, another trapped Nautilus inthe claws of what appears to be a giant squid that noticed us and began attacking us with its long tentacles, fortunately they were able to escape this attack and return to the surface safely.
What's even scarier about this attraction is that it sadly had to be closed, it remained abandoned for two years until early 1996, when Disney officially announced that the attraction would not return. The submarines were removed, but the sets and animatronics remained abandoned underwater for 10 years until 2004, when the lagoon was drained and the animatronics and sets were exposed, of course, suffering a lot of water damage and, unfortunately, almost nothing It was able to be saved so you can imagine why this attraction was so high on the list, not only did it turn out to be terrifying and one of the reasons so many people developed sub mccanna. phobia in the first place, but it also became scarier when it was abandoned with all the animatronics submerged and the sets left to slowly rot underwater, which brings us to the next and final point number one: Castaway Key.
The story of Castaway Key begins with Treasure Key and is. Abandoned cruise ship in 1989 Premiere Cruise Lines began a partnership with Disney to create the first Disney-themed cruise ship. This cruise offered guests a unique experience where they were able to meet and interact with Disney characters on board the ship and also visit an island called Treasure Key. The project was going very well at first, but the bay near the development was too shallow for cruise ships to reach the island. Cruise Lines first had to build a special canal so their smaller ship could fit, but when demand started to increase, it was easier to take guests to Nassau instead of the Key to the Treasure, so unfortunately the island was completely abandoned.
Premiere Cruise Lines went bankrupt and sold all of its fleets. Disney Cruise and the ship became the ocean dream the story of the ship is also tragic because it ended up abandoned in the ocean by its owners for a year off the east coast of Thailand until it finally sank in February 2016 while all this was happening Disney ended their contract with Premiere Cruise Line so they could create their own crew while they were offered the opportunity to purchase the treasure key, but they decided against it, they purchased their current island called Castaway Key and in 1998 saw their first cruise ship called Disney Magic. among the many activities.
Offered to guests at Castaway Key is an area known as the snorkel lagoon and while this activity isn't scary for everyone, for people who have a submccanna phobia, it can be quite unsettling. In this activity, guests can find sunken treasures, there are a number of unique treasures. Sunken treasures dotted around the snorkeling lagoon and most items are marked with buoys and on the orange buoys you can find a small submarine, a large anchor and a fishing boat, then there are the white buoys which is where we found the best treasures. one is a submerged statue of Minnie Mouse sitting, the statue is obviously weathered by the sea but you can swim around it if you continue swimming you can find another submerged statue this time the statue is of Mickey Mouse this statue can be found at one of the points furthest from the activity and only advanced swimmers can reach it, but if you think these two are creepy wait until you see what's next, if you go even further you will find a submerged Nautilus submarine surrounded by sand and fish, you will wonder how it happened this. submarine got here well in the previous point we talked about how the 20,000 Leagues Ride closed at Walt Disney World and many of the props and animatronics were abandoned and destroyed when the ride closed the fleet of 12 submarines was also abandoned until some were removed of them ended up in the Disney scrapyard, others were dismantled for parts and sold on eBay, but two of Captain Nemo's submarines were saved and brought to Castaway Key.
Of these two submarines only one remains, the one we see in the lagoon for diving, the other. Unfortunately it was removed due to poor conditions. This ended up being number one because it's the only one that allows us to experience submecha phobia firsthand. We swim near and around these abandoned objects and do not go on a simulated adventure, so we can experience this. It is surely an exciting and terrifying experience, which one did you find the most terrifying? Let us know in the comments next week we'll be covering more sub mccanna phobia rides and animatronics, which ones would you like to see in the meantime?
