May 09, 2020
well, today we are talking about the

canon

eos r and the RF 70 a 200 mounted on the Ronin, let's do it right, hey, what's up? My name is Tony and I am a filmmaker photographer in st. Louis right now we're in the middle of the whole coronavirus stay at home kind of lockdown, but here in Missouri we're allowed to go to the parks so I'm out. I'm just getting some images and thought I'd bring up Guys, what we're going to do today is mount my EOS R and my 7200 on my Ronin s just to get some cool images and see how it looks.

Is it possible how well it works? That's what we're going to do today. We're going to talk about today, so let's look at the camera setup that I have and then we'll jump right into the footage, although I'll give you some tips and tricks on the best way to be able to set this up. thing for the Ronin and also how to get better performance, so here's the setup: we have the Ronin s with the EOS, our 70 to 200 with the. I put an ND filter in there, it's just a Tiffin variable ND. filter to adjust the exposure.

More Interesting Facts About,

I'll probably try to stick to 2.8 as much as I can just because it looks so cool. Camera settings. I'll run 60 frames per second, a 125 for my shutter speed, like I said, aperture. it'll be wide open and then I'll leave the ISO at 400 because I'm going to run the record and we'll see what it looks like. There is no audio for this one. You may get some external ambient sounds. I just want to try and keep downloading the Ronin to see how well we can do this. Alright guys, let's get into it. As you can see, you can get amazing images from the EOS R with the 70 to 200 mounted on it.

Ronin, so what I want to do is just give you some quick tips on ways I've found that allow you to get better images. The first is that you may have noticed that I didn't actually use the ring mount on the 70's to 200's. I mounted the camera on that Ronin s and the reason is that I just didn't see much difference in performance and I use the pico design clips so I use the capture, I use the clutch, I use their straps all things work together and I don't want to change plates all the time so what I did was leave an RC adapter to adapter on the plate of my

ronin

and that positions my camera a little higher up, which makes things easier. to balance larger lenses and it's quick release only, I can take things off and on very quickly, so if I were to put the ring on, I would have to undo that whole setup to be able to put the ring on the

ronin

plate. it gets annoying so i've decided to use my pico design capture plate and mount it directly to the ronin plate and that makes it a little taller so i can move it back if you want to try using the ring plate or ring on plate , you can do that too, but for me it works fine using my settings.

Another thing I noticed is that you don't balance the lens all the way to 70 or 200, you find a happy medium in the middle, maybe 135 and the camera, the Ronin is strong enough to zoom in and out a little bit now, if you zoom out completely, I would probably rebalance it so your motors don't work as hard on the ronin s, but it will handle it. and in fact, I didn't really rebalance once I balanced it this morning for this entire session, so that's just another thing, make sure you start in the middle so you can zoom in or out a little bit either way.
And then the only thing I want to mention is to remember that the longer the length of your conversation telephoto lens, the harder it is to get smooth shots, so you have to be very careful with your movements when you move a telephoto lens. especially at about 200 millimeters, so a lot of times what I'll do is try to stay close to the wide angle side of this wide angle lens at 70 percent, but I mean, you'll really get the best. shots when it's all the way to 200 but the further away that focal point is from your camera the harder it is to get good shots so play around and see what works best for you but yeah it's a really fun setup and I enjoy doing it if this video It has been useful for you.
I would love for you to like it and leave a comment if you also have some suggestions or if you have some questions about how I do things.
