unless you do what I do and use a charging solution mobile to charge

you're out in the field like this a solar controller using a solar controller you can feed power from any battery to the single wheel so my friend ian took this to the next level and packaged it into a charging solution self charging on the go called car power its pretty good and works great this is the exact system i use when i am on a mountain or in the countryside wherever i am far from e an outlet and i still need to charge a wheel i have seen ts comments on that mountain video asking if i can charge or not

riding i have always answered no you cant charge and drive at the same time its not possible except its possible is very possible and i'm going to give it a try now the charger that plugs into a wheel uses what's called an xlr port the xlr port on the charger actually has three pins on the inside but this is what you actually only need two of those pins to charge the wheel the third pin is literally there to inform the wheel whether or not it's plugged in and doesn't turn on if it is now you obviously don't want a situation where it's plugged in and the wheel turns on and think which is operational even though it's still tethered to a wall so that's where this mod comes in if you unplug that 3rd pin the wheel doesn't actually know it's no longer plugged into the wall although it will still be able to receive power which is critical for this mod so what is actually happening here is that we are tricking the wheel into thinking that it is getting regenerative power by going downhill even though that is not the case at all now i want to clarify that this video is not a tutorial and that if you decide to try this you also run the risk of ruining your board and even worse maybe powering down mid

This has a lot more power but as you can see it's unprotected if you were to pierce this with something that could explode like in this video for this mod there are two main things we're going to adjust and that's basically we're going to disconnect that third pin inside of this plug in and also extend the length of this cable i'm going to use it as a little classic laptop cable dude i can jump rope with this do you have scissors you don't have scissors this is going to feel real weird i'm going to cut the tip off of this there's something about cutting electrical wires like this with scissors that feels so wrong oh that was messy now to cut the other end so the reason i did that is because i only need the two wires on this wire the one that is negative is a positive terminal and I'm going to solder some xt60 connectors to the ends of these so really the second part is a very specific 90 degree angle xlr port in case it gets blocked or spilled won Don't turn around and break the port, you can actually choose what angle it goes in at.

I'm going to rip off one of these pins. I'm going to solder the two wires to the other two pins. The force of the ct goes directly to the socket and the socket itself is not designed to take that type of impact. There's a gap between the actual plug and the rest of the wheel, so if I push here, all the force of that push goes to the plug. instead of the plate what people have done online is they actually buy these bushings and you literally put them in like that and they are supposed to protect the socket from your crashes. The problem is that this bushing is too big and it doesn't. Actually it doesn't sit well on the socket it falls off very easily so that's a problem the socket might break inside and the whole wheel is dead so what I did was 3d model another part and print in 3d that today this was the original v1 this is v2 you want to see something super satisfying so i put this here and then plug this in it should be able to have an impact and not damage anything I haven't done a proper test with this thing yet. and ac Actually, I want to compare it to something that is really good and can go all the way, like the onewheel xr from jan.

I'm really intrigued to see if we can both travel from my house to the studio tomorrow and see which one of us will make it.
