Feb 20, 2020
Hello, welcome back to this video. I'm going to show you how to

make

a

wreath

with the basic

poof

method using

dollar

tree

mesh

. Now depending on the size of your post, you may need to use more or less

mesh

than I do, but for me this way and in this particular

style

I use six rolls, so stay tuned and I'll show you how to do it right, so first of all I'm going to apologize for my hands in this video because I've been doing these cute little flips all day. -Bath bombs and flop soap, they are in an ocean breeze set and they smell so good it is such a good scent it is one of my favorites and I usually wear gloves when I

make

bath bombs but I ran out and went to the store. shop I was getting lazy and started using my bare hands to mix all of these things together, which is why my hands come off when I make a bunch of them, but if you want to check them out, they're in my Etsy shop.

We'll put a link in the description box below, so to get started with this, what you need is the 14 inch

wreath

frame from Dollar Tree, you're going to need some zip ties, a pair of scissors, and of course you're going to need some of the 6 inch mesh from Dollar Tree. I have a lot of this rainbow mesh left over from Easter. I have, gosh, I probably have about 30 rolls of this stuff, so that's what I'm going to use for this. You can use any color you want and someone asked me if it was possible to make a

pouf

style

wreath with the six inch Dollar Tree mesh and most of the time with this style of wreath you know you use the wider mesh you get it from Michael's or Walmart or whatever, but you can do it with this guy, it just requires a little bit of manipulation and moving it, but you can do it, so first, what we're going to do is what we're going to do. hold on to our mesh, let's hold it even though we're going to grab a zip tie and just pick a place to start, it doesn't matter.

I say we start right here and we're going to go ahead and wrap our bridle. Don't tighten it all the way though, sort of like this, now you want to start with the mesh going up from the back of your foot, okay, this just sticks to itself, so take your mesh like this and fold it in half. and then just fold it in half again, crumple it up and now you're going to take this and you're going to put it through that loop that you just made with your zip tie, like it's at the bottom, not at the top, like this, come through underneath, okay, then pull that out a little bit and then tighten the flange, which is much easier with two hands, yeah, there we go tight, okay, now pull it back, you're going to trim that.

Go away later, don't worry about this little tail right here, yeah, it doesn't make much difference right now, okay, so to start this off you're just going to take your mesh and, like you've seen my burlap. The crown is pretty much the same style if you want to see that when I link it up there it's pretty much the same pencil you're not doing the twist if you know what I'm talking about so grab your mesh and Let's get started with this little section here and just push it up like this now, this is going to be the size of your bean bag.

See how tall that is, that will be the size of your bean bag, so if you want. You can use your hand to measure it if you can put your hand there and then just pull this so that your bean bag here is the same height as your hand, okay, now take our hand out, don't put any here, okay? in this second space go up to this third space and you have to be very careful when passing the mesh because if you're not careful you're going to pull this down and that's not what you want to do. your second beanbag put your hand there just to measure yeah a good size okay now I'm going to squish it like this I'm going to squish it to the side unroll more mesh now this time we're going to go to the center space so just take your mesh , push it up through the center space that will be your next little bean bag, let's just measure it, okay, it looks good and you don't have to be precise with this, I mean, it doesn't have to be perfect because once you start squishing everything together it will come together, okay, you don't have to worry about it being exact, you just want to be like you know, somewhere in the ballpark, each of your little ladybugs here are the same height, okay, so now just take that and crush it take more mesh now let's start again going in this bottom section push it up jump the one in the center go up to the top and push it like this now don't worry about this going back you know, and messing everything up because once you start to squeeze them tight, it'll pretty much stay in place, okay, I'm just going to take those puffs and move them around, spread out a little bit more and then go to that center space like this, like this. you know the more mesh you get in there, the more you know, how can I say that's the denser your colors will become?
I know it seems a little weak right now, but you know, keep working with it and more. Your mesh will become dense. I made this type of style crown before and I used six rolls, just like you know, the curly type that I do with the little bunches, so you know, I think it's safe to say that I used six rolls and like me. I said it all depends on how big you make your bean bags. I use my hand as a guide so you know I usually use about six rolls, but you know, that's all there is to it now that you've made the one in the center, let's go. go back and start on this one first, just push it, pull it, jump the one in the center, go up the top one, here, push its mesh, push it, oh come on, let's go and smash it, now we go to the one in the center, they eat it through the center and push it towards the bottom.
This is probably boring for everyone, but I'm trying to hurry up and try to show you what to do, you know, once you get to the end. your mesh roll now we're going to go back to the center, push it, go through the bottom, take it out, go through the top, take it out, flatten it and go through the center, and I think we're at the end of our of our mesh roll here , yeah, we're at the end, so you know what, and that looks pretty crowded there, so I'm going to go ahead and cut this off, okay and I might try that, yeah. feed it one more time, okay, let's say I just did the middle, so we'll go back to the bottom, take it out, okay, now I have this tail left and now you're going to attach this tail to the frame just like you did at the beginning, okay, so you're going to take your bridle and on this little bar here just put the bridle through it and tighten it until you have like a little loop make sure your tail is on the back and then just Take this little piece of mesh that you have left over, just grab it a little bit because it folds back on itself once you get to the end of the spool here and then just thread it through your zip tie right there and then just tighten it up and that secures your first big pack of beanbags.
There we are going to see that your first section of

pouf

s is. Now you keep doing that until you're done. Okay, just attach your next paper as you. I did it at the beginning, just take your next piece of paper and attach it, what does it do? I use two separate zip ties, just plug it back in, work with your

poof

, you can change the colors if you want, like a section can be like red, white, blue, you know, like this and this is how you do the poof method, like this So I'm going to work on this a little bit and then I'll come back and show you what it looks like once it's full.
Okay, my crown is full. I know it's really full. It's hard to see at this angle and I'm sorry for the limited space to work with, but yeah, this is what the wreath looks like when it's done, so now you can put a sign in the middle, you know, decorate it however you want when it arrives like this, The way I place my tape is I decide how long I want my tape to stick out, so let's say I'm just going to take the end of this tape and put it on the frame, let's say. I want it to stand out, how about that?
You want to double that because when you use your pipe cleaner to make your little groups of ribbons to continue here, you see what I'm saying as this length here from the frame to this point. that's going to be how long it's going to stick out so you just fold the ribbon and then cut it right there and you can use all the different colors of ribbon that you want, you can use all the different colors that you want in your bunch of this wreath. right here I'm not going to put any ribbon on it yet, I might leave it aside because I don't know exactly how I want to decorate this wreath, so here's one of my ribbons and then let's say you want to add a little bit of purple, okay, then cut the purple to the length you want and trim the ends like this and then just lay the ribbons on top of each other, layer them however you want them to look good and then grab your pipe.
Cleaner and fold it in half and then you would take your ribbon and at the halfway point that's where you would put your pipe cleaner like this and you would just twist it around your ribbon like that, that just makes a little group of ribbons and when I made groups of ribbons like this. I usually like to use the wired tape and then use a piece of it and then a piece of the thinner tape. You know, just layer it. You know you can do two, three, four layers, as many as you want now that you have it. your little group had you just take the pipe cleaner, run it through the mesh and attach the ribbon to the wire frame and then twist the pipe cleaners on the back and that's how you would add little clumps of ribbon here and there, that's how you do the Basic poof style wreath using

mesh.
