Hello mystery friends and welcome to DIY with Nadia. I hope everyone is having a beautiful day today. I'm sharing my top five

techniques

for making

wreath

s using the six-

inch

deco

rative

mesh

I buy at Dollar Tree. In this video, I will show them step by step. -Step by step instructions on how I made each of the

wreath

s, but not the platform, or if you want to see the

deco

ration, I will link all the videos in the description box below in case you want to make any of the

wreaths

I am going to make show. in this video i love chatting with you in the comments below let me know which wreath technique is your favorite if you are not subscribed to diy with nadia please subscribe hit the like button and don't forget to hit the bell so i know when They publish my videos.

I generally post on Wednesdays and Sundays at 6 p.m. CST, and sometimes I have videos in between. Now let's start with our crowns. We are starting with a 14

inch

metal wreath form of the

dollar

tree

. 24 pipe cleaners. and these are 12 inches and also five rolls of green decorative

dollar

tree

mesh

and this decorative mesh measures six inches by five yards, so when you buy the decorative dollar tree mesh, make sure it's nice and soft so that it doesn't

fray

s. On the ends of your decorative mesh you want to see what this looks like because sometimes you can tell how bad it is just by looking at how

fray

ed and ugly it is on this side, as you can see, this one is quite pretty, so I pay attention.

When I get my rolls like this, these chenille pipe cleaners or stems are actually from the dollar tree and what I do is I buy a bunch because they come in different colored packages, like gold and silver, red, green and what I do. Now I separate all the colors into five packets at a time? I'll separate the colors that way. I have green when I need it, gold, silver, and red, so I'm going to split this into three since it's 12 inches. We're going to need four inch strips and that will be enough for what we need and then I'm going to cut all of this into four inch strips.

Now let's go over the basics of our decorative mesh. Our decorative mesh measures six inches. wide and five yards long and what we are going to do is cut our decorative mesh into 12 inch strips which will give us 15 bows per roll. This wreath shape consists of six even sections that we're going to make 12 of the little arches in each section, so 12 times 6 gives us 72 arches. If we are going to use five of these rolls, we will have 75 bows, so that is more than enough, since you have three left over. you can put it wherever you want I'm going to start cutting and I like to use this rotary cutter you can use whatever you want you can use scissors and here we go just 12 inch strips, the five rolls when you cut the decorative mesh, it kind of tends to curl around yeah alone, so I just let it curve and just move my fingers here until they overlap about an inch, inch and a half, you really don't want to go any further than that.

To hold it at the top, lower it right in the center with one hand. I'm going to keep it nice and tight at the top here with my other hand, I'm just going to bring it up right where it overlaps and then I'm going to turn my loop over, this is my smooth end or it's going to be our top end, so I'm going to grab my wire chenille, I'm going to fold it into a little V and then I'm going to put it here so that when we're tying our chenille wire we're tying it on the back where all that little fraying is and it's hiding, so on the top it's nice and soft , absolutely no fraying and all the ends are here and held very tight with my chenille stem and then on the inside of the bow right there so you can't even see it because it's on the inside and that's it our bow is ready to grab another strip.
I'm just walking with my little strip until I get to about an inch to an inch and a half overlapping, bring it down, hold it tight with the other overlapping finger and we're just going to put it together, take my chenille wire, make it into a V, there it is. you have, and this is my smooth end, this is the center of my little pipe cleaner and this is the back we're going to give it two tight twists it's good to make a perfect little bow I've got my crown shape I've got all my sweet little bows and there's a little bit more on the sides here everything didn't fit Here now it's time to put our little bows on our wreath shape.
If you don't have enough, I made these

wreaths

where I basically had three of these rolls. Complete four of these and I'll insert that video into the description box. and it works really well, but this time we have a lot of ribbon and a lot of bows, so we're going to do six and six and fill this in really nice and it's going to look like a green Christmas wreath for this wreath that I'm going to make. I'll be using row two and three row two here and I like to zigzag the way they fit together and I'll just go two three two three and then it'll start to fill in nicely and they'll start to clump together nicely. just go ahead and here's just a section just a little section look how full and fluffy it is and then in the back that's why I keep them up to four inches because that's enough to make the little bows and put them in because Otherwise, what are you going to do?
I just fold them in half in the back, just in half and then fold them back, just like that, fold it in half and then back and that way it's nice and clean, and yes I'm going to sell this , it's not going to scratch your clients, or your friends, or whoever you're doing this to, you know, doors or walls, or wherever they're going to put this, I'm done and look how clean, that's nice. and clean up anything that's sticking out, nothing that's scratched, this is beautiful and complete, so what I'm going to do now is take the rest of my pretty bows and start filling in the rest of my sections.
I am going to start. with four rolls of decorative mesh and this is the new one that I've seen on the dollar tree and it's this ivory with some very fancy gold and then we're going to start with 18 of these pipe cleaners, so today's magic number is 18. we're going to do pretty much everything in 18 because we're going to have 18 connections in our wreath shape before we get started, let's go over the basics. This is a 14 inch metal wreath form of the dollar tree and it is 14 inches in diameter it has six sections in each section we are going to put three of these pipe cleaners here there is a section here we are going to put a pipe cleaner in the second row and I count my rows from the inside out and I'm just going to find my center and give it a twist on row three, we're going to put two on either side of this middle one and that's it, we repeat this process on all of our sections and then we're ready to place our decorative mesh so you see one in the second row and then in the third row, we have two like this.
All my pipe cleaners are in the shape of a crown. Now it's time to unroll my four rolls. I'm going to unroll them. where they're rolling because we're doing loops, so let me just layer them. Okay, so I've got my four rolls stacked on top of each other and now I'm just going to bring them together about an inch. There are two ways you can start placing the decorative mesh, you can start from the outside and make the loops on the outside and when you get to the last one you move to the middle one and then go all the way around.
I like to work from the inside out because when it comes to blocking it at the end, it's easier to work on the side of the crown than to try to work on the inside, that's just how I am, so what I'm going to do is start. on row 2, that's the inside one and then I'm going to place each 9 inch loop and then when I get to the last one, I'm going to jump to this one, not the next one, here I'm going to jump to this one and then I'm going to go all the way around and complete the crown.
Okay, let's get started, I'm just going to open it up about an inch, bring it in and I'm going to give it two good turns, I want to make sure it's nice and secure, but then I'm also going to take a zip tie and fasten it with a zip tie. I'm going to do this at the beginning and also at the end. I finished just to make sure that my wreath is secured very well on my wreath form, like I said, we're joining every nine inches, so here the white square, the middle white square is eight inches, we're going to add one more and I'm going a I don't make nine, so I'm going to start from white and as you can see all of my decorative mesh is looped this way and it's all oriented the same way, so our loops are going to be beautiful, so starting with I go white. to the white and then one more square to take us to the gray and then that's going to give me nine inches and I'm going to do my first loop just by bringing it down and then two twists, the next nine I'm going to repeat This process is completed in row two and then we'll move on to row three together.
Here we go to the last loop in row two and we'll place it right above where we started and that will complete our row nicely. squeeze there and just do two twists okay and now we move on to row three this is where our fixture is and we're done and here's our little section and of course we have two of our pipe cleaners in row three we're not going to touch them we're going to move on to the next section and take this first in the next section. This will keep our loops more on the even side, so let's put our nine inches right here and then I'll go ahead. to this third row right here now I'm going to go all the way around like I started and we're going to make two loops in each of the sections, okay, I went all the way around and I have one loop to do this is the one behind where we started and we're done and look at this, this is what's left and I'm telling you if you do 9 inches it's going to be perfect so let me do my last 9 inches right here, very, very exciting and I'm going to put it here and then I'm going to cut my tail off grabbing another one flange.
I'm going to tie it right there to row three, this is what it looks like from the back, there's our At first we went around, we went in row two and here we finished, look how beautiful this is, so I usually put the ribbon on and then the sponge, but today I don't know why I want to sponge it. It looks so beautiful. it's so I'm going to go in and open up my rose here and start fluffing it before we put the finishing touches on it. When I fluff these, I don't go from the top because I don't want to catch anything, what I do is I take the bottom one and I push it down, so I push it down and right there I push it down and I take it out and I found out that there is a lot less , you know, labeling things. and it frays when you do that, so start with the bottom one and push it down watch them fill out, I mean, if you wanted to, as long as you hide them in the back and just fluff these sections up, I'm telling you.
You could have a whole wreath right there, you don't have to go any further, that's how much volume these four rolls make and it turns out so beautiful that I came up with this method now, I don't know if anyone else did. before me because I mean it's not a complicated thing here, but I was so desperate to find a 21 inch mesh and do this method, so I decided okay, you know, I'll use the six inch mesh layer. and it has the same effect and I think it's even better because it's actually 24 inches quote unquote um of decorative mesh in each loop compared to the 21, so in retrospect it turns out even fluffier and I even made a wreath where I had three instead of four they turned out fine, but on that one I had a ribbon in the middle, just like I'm going to have on this one, but I'm just saying that it's possible if you only have three rolls of a certain thing, you can definitely try making this wreath and it's going to be beautiful so today we're going to make a really fun summer wreath and we're using some dollar tree Christmas and Easter decorative tinsel so I'm using red, white and this light blue.
You're going to need two of each, then you'll need this 14-inch metal dollar tree wreath form. I use this little board because I like my loops to be eight inches and you'll also need some pipe cleaners which I like. use zip ties for the entire wreath or at least the beginning and end to make them really nice and secure, but that's up to you, you can still use the pipe cleaners for that. I'll also show you the piece that Like those colors started, I saw this house as, oh, red, white and blue, which could be really unique and that's why I chose those colors, but I got this little dollar tree board, I think it's very cute, let's decorate it just a little bit and secure all that glitter in place a little later.
I'm going to start with my pipe cleaners and cut them in half when I usually do curly wreaths or something like that. I'm dealing with a small one or even Nadia's technical crown. I will insert it in the description box. I usually take my pipe cleaners and cut them into thirds, but for this I want to be a little more comfortable. because we're going to layer the mesh when you unroll it, as you can see, it rolls down, not up, so just push it down and then let go. I'm going to take the next one, put it right. up we'll just give it an inch and a half and bring it in, grab your bridle.
I really recommend using a zip tie at least for the beginning and the end. I'm going to push it between the second and the last. third row and I'm going to tie it in place and when I close Tie the first one, it's just going to be at this intersection, but it's only in one row because I want to make sure that it's actuallysure. I tied it right here and tied it at this intersection as you can see on the right. here because when I'm going to do the other loops I'm going to tie them around the second and third row, but any end and you know, at the beginning of the loops you need to tie them to a single row to start. my loops or my bubbles basically we're making a bubble and the bubble goes up and that's why this is called the bubble method so I'm going to start at once up to eight inches right here, bring it together, bubble it up and we're going to connect it right , so here are the numbers you need to remember.
Each of our bubbles will be eight inches long and in each section there are six sections. In this crown there will be six bubbles. Usually one roll is enough. half the wreath, so three of these sections, so here we are, I have one section finished. I'd like to make sure they're all nice and neat afterwards, but I've got six loops here and I'm going to move on. to the next section I'm just securing the bubble in place with some chenille wire or a pipe cleaner. I'm already done with half the wreath and made two loops or bubbles in the next section, but now I'm going to cut. take it off and I'm pretty generous with this, you want to give it like two and three inches, you can always cut off the excess later and then let me start this part and we're going to overlap this for a nice secure connection.
I'm going to put it together and I'm going to put this one on the inside and we're basically going to cross them, you see, and then around the third row or the second, it doesn't matter, just put a zip tie through it and tie it now if you feel which is too much to do, you can push it down or cut it. I know it's very tight with my bridle, so I don't mind cutting it just a little. a little bit more and we're going to hide this part when we open these two sections. This should show you that not all dollar tree tinsel are created equal, so this is how much blue is left, let me see here. because I have one more loop that I'm going to do so basically this is the amount of blue this is the amount of red quite a significant amount and this is the amount of white I have I really could have done fuller and additional loops but I mean I have enough loops.
You knew more than enough, but you know that sucks, so I'm getting my eight inches here and I'm going to cut off the excess there. you're trying to do it with my left hand it's a little uncomfortable here I'm ambidextrous but I don't cut with my left hand although there you go I read you're not making things easier for me here as you can see I have security on my left here my supervisor is fine, let's go to make a bubble and first I'm going to push it down, just take it out, sorry I hit the camera mount over here, but I'm going to take it out and I'm going to crisscross it like I did on the other side and by the way you can't even feel thank you , you can't even almost tell where it is, but it's like right there I'm going to crisscross them and attach them.
The next thing I'm going to do is open them all up and the way I do it in this situation where I have three different colors and stuff like that is I'm actually going to take turns picking the colors, so if I start with the blue, then I'll go to the white, here the red will be in the middle and the blue will be on the other side and it will be a kind of alternation. here is what we are going to need to start our ruffle wreath and the first thing we are going to need is a 14 inch metal dollar tree wreath form, then we are going to need some chenille wires or stems and then we are going to Use six rolls of decorative dollar tree tinsel because this technique is new for a dollar tree wreath.
I'll give you some new measurements. Each roll of decorative dollar tree mesh measures five yards and this is obviously all six. inch roll and what I'm going to do is cut it into 22 inch strips and when you do that you should have eight of these elongated strips per roll so I'm going to cut all my interlocking ones and then we're going to make little flowers and this technique will I promise it's like the curly one but it's like oh, it's not even half the time, it's even more so because this is going to be a quick and easy wreath that We're not going to cut this into six inch strips after all, we're going to cut it into 22 inch strips so that tells you right there that it's going to take you a lot less time to roll all of this up.
I'll be right back, guys. The next step is to take some of our chenille wires and I'm going to fold them in half and I like to use wire cutters. We're going to unfold each roll, but the roll that I want to fold inwards looks like it rolls naturally. Inside I'm going to put a piece of scissors or something so that it doesn't roll up so I can work on it and then this is what we're going to do, we're going to make a little roll and that's it. I made a real little roll and we hit all that loose mesh, I guess, on the inside and then as soon as I have my little roll, I'll just put the mesh together and I'm like an accordion. of the thing and put it together now I'm not going to put it together until the end towards the end I'm going to let this piece also come in and as soon as I have a little coil I'm going to put it together so we're hiding both ends, then we're going to grab our little wire of steel and I'm putting it together and what I do is I go from the bottom to the top and then I twist it nice and we have our little kind of flower or whatever you want to call it if you want to fast forward, okay, but I'm going to show it one more time, let's roll , make a simple little roll, little scissors where they belong and then We're just going to put them together, put it together, we're making the pretty little ruffles right now, we're just the wreath experts right now, telling you this is so easy, you'll be like, "Ah , Nadia, I can do this with my kids and this is my hardest part is trying to make the last roll, so there you have it, I have my roll, bring it over, we have my chenille wire like this, then pick it up and just twist it nice and tight in the back.
I have my flowers ready and ready to go. I'm going to put four flowers in the second row and four in the third, so we'll just use the middle two rows of the wreath and just to keep things simple, it'll be nice and full, I've tried this before with seven in each, but in my opinion is not complete enough, but it all depends on you. I'm going to do four in each of the middle rows while you're doing this, still zigzag, uh, go from top to bottom top to bottom means third row second row third row second row just because of the way these flowers are going to come together and this first it doesn't matter because this one is still a little loose over here, but as the crown starts to fill, you'll see that it's important to do that because it's going to fill the crown really well and you know you're not going to have too much here or too much there, it'll just go here like this and just fill it up really nice, we can deal with the tails later, but this is a roll of decorative mesh and look how full it is, it doesn't stick out too much like on curly wreaths.
Get me wrong, I love my curly crowns, but this is easier and you have these beautiful waves here and I think it's so beautiful and we'll figure out how we're going to decorate it towards the end right now. I'm just going to go ahead and fill in the rest of this wreath and as I go, since we finished this one at the bottom, here I'm going to start at the top because I want to continue that consistency of keeping it nice. And while we go, guys, take a quick look at this. I already made three sections of the wreath.
This was very quick and is coming together very, very well, so for this wreath I am starting with a heart wreath. dollar tree shape, so I'm going to start with four of the white decorative mesh and two of these um, I don't know, I call them snowflake, one of the ones with little white pieces all over it, but I'm going to put these on one side for now and we're going to do the basic curl here and I usually do six to seven inches so my six inches is right here and I just cut it off and then when I have three we'll put it together so I cut a little bit of the decorative mesh and this is how I hold it before I start curling it and I'm going to use chenille wires and these are just white ones from the hobby lobby, but you can also get them at the dollar tree I'm going to fold them in half, se they cut pretty easy and here we go, I'm going to take three and do my first curl and I've done it differently.
I've done it where I would do curls. I did it and put it in a clip. I did it where I curled it and put it on some kind of clothespin or something, but I've been using my fingers for a long time. You just know, I find it. It's the easiest and quickest, okay, I have my three curls and I just cross them, I grab a chenille wire, I tighten it and when I tighten it on the back, I really tighten it, I put my finger right here and I twist it over my finger. way you put this all together and I know it's nice and tight okay let's make another one so I'm going to go ahead and make a lot of these basically I'm going to make four packs of these and I'm going to be doing the same thing cutting them up and then making three packs and just like I did, I'm going to crisscross them and then I'm just going to take a while with half of the chenille wire okay, so I've got all my little bundles done and now I've got the heart wreath and I'm going to put my bundles on this middle ring and on the outer ring and I'm not sure how many I'll need.
I'm going to start putting them on and at the end I'll tell you how many I ended up using because I make a lot of these wreaths, but I've never made them heart shaped, so it's a little different because all my sections are not the same, they're all different. I think in this case it's best to give you some sort of grand total. Well, the last one I'm going to put in the corner, which is actually in the first one, because I wanted to go in a little bit, so instead. from putting it on the second and third, I'm putting this last one on the first and just so you know, I actually used six rolls now, if you don't think it's full, that's okay because we're using the edge or the last row.
As you can see, all my curls are coming in, but when you hang this wreath, all of this will go out and fill out. See what I mean? It will get nice and full once you hang it and look at it. In this, the next thing we're going to do is put this to the side. Now we're grabbing this decorative mesh and once again I'm going to cut it into six inch strips and by the way, Guys, the rotary cutter for this mesh specifically is amazing, it works great. Mine is old and starting to appear as I use it, but I've had it for years and years, but if you have any suggestions for purchasing. a new rotary just let me know because I would love to get a new one so I'm going to do this for the rest of the mesh and then what I'm going to do is I'm going to grab some more chenille stems and I'm going to cut them in half so I have my little wire chenille and what I'm going to do is gather it and make a kind of bow and pull it up and twist it before I put it together.
I wanted to show you that there's really no right or wrong way to do this, there's no edge on the edge here and there's no edge, you obviously know where you cut, so no matter how you put the arc together which direction you just bring. together, pinch it in the middle and just twist it a little bit, make the little pom pom and that's going to go between our curly mesh on the crown. Alright guys, I've got all these little loops made, so next thing I do. What I'm going to do is put them between the two rows that we made, so I'm going to go from the bottom, I'm just going to move to grab the little loop and you can attach it to wherever you see and you can maneuver here whenever you go, it doesn't necessarily have to be so, you know, because these curls are all over the place and I just want this to be towards the middle and then just connect it to whatever you want.
I'm going to attach this one to the outside edge here to the third row from the inside and that's it, it doesn't really matter where you put it because of all these little snow things. I'll understand it and it'll stay in place for sure and so far I've got it, I'm just going to turn you around.
