What are the Best mods for Charger/Challenger V6 - SXT & GT? V6 owners cant miss this..

May 31, 2021
Guys welcome back it's Racerx and I'm actually back with my friends at Clay Cooley uh Dodge Jeep Chrysler Ram which is in Irving Texas I've done a lot of videos with these guys and they're fantastic they actually gave me their service bay to do some filming. video for you guys I was really looking forward to and lately a lot of people asked me runner I'm really going to talk about the modifications you can make to the v6, whether it's the gt or the sxt. I did my research and I want to talk. a little bit about the

mods

that are out there for

this

car so that should be fun guys if you're new to the channel make sure to hit the subscribe button and also make sure to hit the notification bell for more great content and Also make sure to hit me up on Instagram and here we go we have 1000 horsepower so right behind me I have two very nice cars as you can see here.
what are the best mods for charger challenger v6 sxt gt v6 owners cant miss this
I have the Challenger GT. They're both from 2020, obviously new and uh, right here I have the sxt

charger

. They both have that pentastar v6 power plant. I want to talk a little bit about the power plant that comes with

this

and then I want to give you an idea of maybe some of the different

mods

.

what

you can do with these cars to make them more fun, so let's talk a little bit about this uh pentastar 3.6 liter v6 engine that comes in the sxt or the gt. Admittedly, this is the base model, but this engine still packs a good amount of punch, we're talking 305 horsepower and 268 pound-feet of torque in this thing, so it still holds up well on the road, um, now this engine is a little bit different than its cousins, so to speak, and you say the rt, uh, certainly, the scat package.

More Interesting Facts About,

what are the best mods for charger challenger v6 sxt gt v6 owners cant miss this...

And heck, here you're looking at a double overhead camshaft engine, um, so it's certainly a different design, there's four valves per cylinder on this one and this is a cast aluminum engine compared to the iron blocks that are found in many of the other hemis. uh it's certainly a very different engine, in fact it probably has more similarities even though it's a v6 with the coyote engine rather than the other hemis that are in this family, it's something very interesting to think about so which not only does this feature um variable valve timing, but also the compression ratio on this one is pretty high, it's 11.3 to one, so it's certainly higher than the other trim levels, so the first thing I want talk when we talk about the

charger

sxt or gt or

challenger

um I want to talk about the modifications that you can do with these that don't really require a tune you literally just screw them on and enjoy them so whether you're adding sound you're adding additional air to the engine, there are a multitude of different ones.

Ways to gain horsepower with these by literally just bolting a different part into place, so let's talk about them now. One of the first things you notice when you start looking for replacement parts for the v6 versions of these cars is that there just isn't that much in terms of

what

is available on the v6, yes they have things but you have to look a little harder for them. and when you look at the big exhaust manufacturers and all the different parts manufacturers that you know, it's a bit notable that there aren't more available for the v6, but luckily for us they have some offers, so first obviously I want to talk about the exhaust.
what are the best mods for charger challenger v6 sxt gt v6 owners cant miss this
Now the exhaust is actually something they have pretty fair deals on, so I actually have my little list here. There are many different exhausts, so check this out. They have a tassel exhaust that's pretty cool, it's type S, which is actually one of my favorite exhausts. For around $1,400, you can get an S-type exhaust for the V6. They also have an individual performance exhaust. That one, you can get the round or square tips for about $840. You have a competition series from Magnaflow. As you know, I am a big fan of Magnaflow. They're one of my sponsors and that thing actually sounds pretty good and you can do the rear axle for 7 15 and the full rear cat will cost you about 1600 which is on par, for the magnaflow exhaust you have a flowmaster Because actually , that was the American Thunder Flowmaster, about 900 bucks for that one and I found afe Machforce.
Now keep in mind guys that one costs around a thousand dollars and can go a little more depending on the tips, but there are others. uh exhausts out there, I'm just giving you some of what I found and keep in mind that many exhaust shops can simply weld a muffler into place and that doesn't mean you can't also remove the middle muffler or resonator. uh you could do a straight pipe, I've heard them, I'm not a big fan of it, but that's an option too, so there are a lot of options when it comes to the v6 and what kind of exhaust you want and what kind of exhaust it is .
Another one of those things guys that is very subjective so you just have to listen and see what you like and do what's right for you so obviously one of the most popular modifications you'll discover is a cold air intake And, believe it or not, for the SXT and GT, there are many options in terms of cold air intakes. I did quite a bit of research and you can spend anywhere from say 90 to 450 or 460 on the afe boost. and there really isn't much research out there that says one works better than the other, I mean I found engine stuff, certainly, k n has several different ones, Airaid has some, you have spectrum, there's just a litany of options when it comes to cold air intakes even for the v6 and each of them will gain some power.
Now I can't necessarily say that one is going to acquire more power than the other. Certainly, the safe impulse is one that has a kind of closure. closed box system and draws air from the front of the car, most of these others will be some kind of open or conical air filter, so it will allow more air to pass to the engine and probably increase its power. a little bit and of course that's one of the first modifications people make so there are a lot of options for cold air intakes. I can't necessarily tell you which one is

best

, but there are certainly many things to choose from.
I want to talk about another mod that I think is pretty important, no it won't add any horsepower but it will certainly keep your car running properly and that's a catch can of many of the catch cans I've seen for this particular model . Actually ride here and they have a Ripp or Rip Catch can which is actually very good for 245. You can find it on their site and then they also have a bbk on Sorry, Catch can which will be around 140. and there is also another option which I found at billet technology for around 140 about the same price.
You have a lot of options in terms of colors and basically that will keep the engine nice and clean in terms of contaminants and oil intake. ad

ion and certainly a modification worth making and worth analyzing now. Another item that's really worth noting is that the throttle body on this car can be a little restrictive and believe it or not, with a ported throttle body you can get a little bit of horsepower and mmx o modern extreme muscle they make a ported throttle body for this car that you can order directly from their website and I think it runs around 300, but it's a nice easy way to just add some horsepower to this thing. and they also do a cover shot uh the same company does cover shots both at the top and at the bottom.
You can carry it. It's about 600. They support the upper and lower intakes on this car or you can do each one separately for about 300. $600 gets you both that upper and lower ported intake and as I mentioned, 300 for the mmx, the body of the 80 millimeter throttle should make you some decent horsepower. Another element that I also want to mention is that many times people escape. Their car heads are certainly their V8s and they hope to gain some horsepower now in these cars. It's not really an option because the engine is cast, essentially you have the exhaust manifold cast right there on the engine, so unfortunately the headers are really not an option on this car, I just wanted to go ahead and lay it out there.
Many times people don't think about some of the other performance modifications that don't necessarily increase horsepower, such as brakes and suspension. Whether it's or not, you actually have some deals for the v6 version that are noteworthy and I want to tell you what they are, so on the suspension I did some research and found out that they actually have coil-over shocks that will work just fine. On this k-sport car now the threaded shock option is not the cheapest option certainly very very good but they cost around $850 just for a pair to go on the front so it's not necessarily the cheapest option cheap, but it's fantastic in terms of suspension. so if you want to go all out and get coil over shocks you can certainly do that now, k-sport also offer height adjustable springs for this which are pretty cool and cost around 620 for all four so certainly if you want to adjust the height in It will definitely be worth doing and then of course they offer some that are not adjustable.
Certainly, bachmann eibach, they have some options from 250 to 300 and then there is also another one from sr performance that costs around 170 dollars. So there are many different spring options and, believe it or not, most of them will drop at least an inch to give the vehicle a different stance and slightly different ride. Something to think about there and also the brakes, I want to mention. This means that Brembo and Sparta have six piston operation options that are pretty good, although they cost around four thousand dollars, so they are not the cheapest thing in the world and we are talking about the front end, where most of it is produced. of braking anyway. so we're not even talking about the rears here, but there's also another one I want to talk about from Bayer, it's a six piston setup that's actually pretty good for about half the price, it's around two grand and It's also a Two Piece Drilled and Slotted Rotor, a pretty good system, so you can find it on the Bear website and there are also a couple more websites that I'll point out in the description below, as well as another item that I want to talk. is tuning these cars and yes tuning is very important so I already went over a lot of the different modifications that you can do without even having a tune on the car believe it or not a good tune will actually add some power and it will certainly add , make your car faster because they can tune the trans

ion too.
Now I want to mention that you have HP tuners and you also have Diablo Sports. You have a couple of different options and they are certainly very different with Diablo. Sport, they have packages for around a thousand dollars. You can order one of their three units and also an unlocked pcm, so you can't tune these cars unless you have an unlocked pcm, so they actually give you an extra pcm. and they will give you the unit to look in real time and see how your vehicle is performing and most of its tunes are actually intended for you basically stock cars but it will add a little bit of power just by plugging that new pcm into you're on your vehicle and you can certainly make adjustments once you have an unlocked PCM depending on what modifications you decide to make.
HP tuners are a little different, you have to have your own device and they have different options there and you can explore both on their websites, there is no right or wrong, some tuners prefer hp tuners, that is the tuner my tuner uses and Also, hell, there's nothing wrong with that one too, so there's a lot of different options, like I said. you have your own device with hp tuners, but they also have some really cool features of that software. I can't cover everything, but I just wanted to give you the two main tuning softwares out there and you can see them on their website.
I also want to talk about a couple of really great products that are super easy to use. One of them is called Taser and you may or may not be getting ready to watch a video of mine. here in the next few days um and that's actually a lot of different things that the Taser does, it plugs right into the obd port um and you can know you can have your fans on like when you're in the prep lanes It's going to change a lot of your sources in the car, it does a light show, it does all kinds of cool things, so that thing is about 250 on the z Automotive website and then there's also the Commander pedal, which is pretty cool, it's about 300 bucks. and that also plugs into the obd port it plugs directly into your throttle and it actually reduces the um it reduces the amount of time or the delay when you press the throttle it doesn't add horsepower but what it does is it reduces that. delay and causes the vehiclefeels more responsive, more agile, so to speak, so it's an interesting little product to mention as well and of course if you really want to go crazy with the power of your v6, um, the

best

option is probably the Supercharger offered by Ripp if you have an 18 and newer, that's pretty much the only option.
The procharger is actually coming out with an option for that too but it's not available yet, at least that's what I understand, but the Ripp supercharger is great for these now it's a centrifugal force supercharger and like a vortex and it puts out between 11 and 12 pounds of boost at sea level and they claim that they will get between 400 and 450 horsepower per tire and in a similar range of 360 365 in terms of pound-feet of torque and a lot of people like to go to that ripp supercharger now keep in mind Keep in mind I'm only going to start this if you get to that amount of horsepower, keep in mind there are limits to your drivetrain, your transmission, things like that, so you have to be prepared for anything. of that, but it comes pretty much ready to go, it already has a tune ready to go, now you may have to make adjustments to the tune depending on what other mods you have, but it's certainly a great option if you really want to increase the power . on your v6, uh, but keep in mind, like I said, that you may have other problems in terms of just beefing up the rest of the car when you get to that power level because now you're starting to go up to that scat package. power level or even higher in some cases and you just have to be prepared for that now so if you have a 12 to 17 charger or a

challenger

sxt there is another option available it's from sprintex and it's actually a root.
Twin scroll screw blower that actually works pretty well, now it doesn't make as much horsepower as advertised in terms of, compared to the Rapp supercharger, but it makes power in a different way, it makes a lot more power. low in the rpm band compared to a centrifugal force supercharger like the ripp, which will increase power a bit in the rpm band, but unfortunately they don't have the options for the 18 through the current model year. so, something to consider, well, that's it. I just wanted to give you a couple of options that were available on some of the modifications that you can do on your v6 and like I've done, I always tell you guys you know, make your car your own, have fun with it.
The best thing about accessories is that they can be done in stages, one at a time, they don't need adjustment, so as the budget dictates, they can be added. Certainly, when you step up to a supercharger, you're looking at a lot of money at once and you'll probably need some support modifications, so be prepared for that and then also be prepared for the warranty. implications obviously you put a supercharger on the warranty will likely apply but in any case there are a lot of different ways to have fun in your v6 charger or challenger so like I said I'll put some of the links below in the description .
If you want to see where to find some of these products and I hope you find it interesting and useful, anyway, that's it for this one, I'll see you guys in the next one, so until then, racerx.
