We’re Building the World’s Fastest Walmart Motorcycle

May 27, 2024
I would like to introduce you to Little Red. I bought this guy at Walmart for 880. Now mini bikes are very slow at 20 miles per hour, but this is what I know what it's like to be called slow and I don't like it. I'm going to make Little Red go a hundred miles an hour and it'll be super easy, I better not tip my foot over, buddy, he'll never do this. Three, two, one. Now there are a bunch of modifications we're going to have to make to Little Red. including the chassis, the wheels, the brakes, the gears, but before we do anything, we need to make more horsepower, so let's start with the engine, buddy, that one.

Oil stinks, it's stinky oil, so for some red to go 100 miles per hour, I need to calculate. To find out how much horsepower this engine needs, we can reach that speed, so I did a bunch of calculations and figured out that I should probably contact someone who is better suited to give me a good answer, so I called my friend Taylor from Go. Power Sports and he says this thing needs to make 28 wheel horsepower to go 100 miles per hour. Now you might be wondering how much horsepower the little red one makes. Well, we went to the dyno to find out and while we were there.

We found that the little red one produces 3.47 horsepower. Not bad, we have some work to do, although we also made an enemy. Mickey. Mickey with 30 years of experience, long hair and big muscles, thinks this thing will never go 100 miles per hour. He's smaller than a lawnmower you guys aren't going to get anywhere without him he has no face when you pull him he's not fake his name is Uh smart I'll do to Mickey what I do to all my skeptics I'm going to prove Mickey wrong, I'm very motivated now, hey, guess what I heard about Valvoline, the official oil sponsor, a donut, okay, so my cousin Jimmy was telling me about Valvoline's Extended Protection High Mileage Full Synthetic Motor Oil.

Now I know what you're thinking, the name is a little long but super fragile realistic Expialidocious this thing is liquid gold. I mean, if this thing had accessories, it would be Mass. It's 10 times stronger against nasty oil failures. Now let's see how it compares to the industry standard for wear protection. Valvoline extended protection. high mileage gives you 50 more baby this stuff was formulated for 75,000+ mile engines by absolute geniuses and I'm not using that loose word. Jimmy told me that these Valvoline people came down from the sky on their little wings and literally got into that motor oil.

To the United States, thank you now. I'm not 100% sure about the first part, but I do know that Valvoline is the original motor oil. If I were you, I'd listen to Cousin Jimmy and protect your car with Valvoline today to learn more. Click the link below. Our strategy here is to completely strip this engine and replace every major part with parts that are stronger and lighter, that way we can rev the engine faster and make more horsepower, and when we make those horsepower, those parts don't. What explodes here is each individual component that goes to our engine.
This is the only thing we are saving our cast aluminum case and cylinder. All of this has to go here first. I am assembling my rings on my piston and This piston is slightly different from our original piston. This is a flat top piston, so let's see how we have some concave on the top of this piston. This one is flat, completely flat, which will increase our compression ratio so we can do more compression. more horsepower now let's put the ring set together look I'm confused Jay, yeah I'm trying to figure out which ring goes where, see if there are instructions.
I really messed up this sucker. I threw away the instructions. I'm already dumpster diving, whatever you have. our grease ring at the bottom is going to give us juice, here we go, good, now our original connecting rods are made of cast aluminum, simple design, quite cheap, we don't even have connecting rod bearings here, an aluminum connecting rod again construction it actually has bearing it's lighter it's stronger fingers crossed it'll help us make more power now I can get my crank right we've got a crankshaft and our piston installed beautiful we're like halfway there next thing I'm going to do make put the camshaft, this original camshaft right here, piece of junk.
Now the gear itself is made of some type of plastic, but the profile is cheap, not designed to make a lot of horsepower. When I say profile, I mean these lobes here. The shape and profile of those lobes dictate how much air enters when that air enters and essentially helps us generate more power. Our profile is designed to get you some improved ponies. The next piece we'll install is this nice Billet side. cover, so the main differences between our upgraded side cover and our original side cover is made from trick billet aluminum which they machine to get this shape it rides on two bearings instead of one it also has some extra ventilation holes built into the case side for our ventilation and lastly we have a nice treated surface that our camshaft is wrapped around.
Let's throw this sucker in here and start looking cool. I hope I get it on the first try. Let's cross our fingers, we'll see some strange things. That doesn't suit you. God, these pegs sometimes. you just have to hit things a little bit harder there we go very beautiful so now what I'm going to do is tighten these bolts on our side cover and install our Billet steering wheel so this again is like our side cover was machined to from just one. aluminum block now, this thing is our old cast aluminum flywheel, super heavy, it's made of cast aluminum, which means it's porous and when the engine starts spinning really fast you don't want this because this thing can fly in pieces. on Baby Cooking with gas looks good, it will work well too.
The next thing I need to do is install our head bolts and then attach the head. This is our original head, right here, some little little valve springs, look I can push it in with my same size fingers. intake and exhaust valve, come here to our fully built head, this big thick intake valve means we can draw in more air and we can make more horsepower, let's go overseas, that will create the biggest change in horsepower, it's This here, our carburetor. Now this is our original carburetor, look at that, look at that little baby hole, now look at this man-sized hole.
We're going to suck in so much air through that hole, feeding this entire combustion chamber, we'll make a lot. of horsepower so let's turn this on and then see if we can turn this sucker on okay we should turn it on right here yeah he seemed worried yeah it's making some noises I'm not very familiar with oh so I'm just waiting no having forgotten something because that would be a real Bozo move. I hope things start. I hope it goes boom boom. I do this, I give her some gas and she tears you apart. You better not blow up my foot, oh my god, really, take a step.
In it, Jimmy smells that sweet, sweet victory, can you believe we did all that in one day? Two thumbs up Mickey, run, I turned it on, yes, yes, it takes, yes, it accelerates, yes, the engine has no vacuum, it sucks fuel. the carburetor, I get it, I get it, man, I don't listen, guys, I don't get it, no, I get it, we're going to make this thing go 100 miles an hour, I promise, dude, Mickey, breaking my skills, okay before we put this motor back into our little mini

motorcycle

. Here the clutch that came with our original engine had a much smaller diameter shaft from the crank, so we have an improved clutch assembly.
Basically now it's a Ducati, so we're going to put it on and then we're going to get a new chain that I have here. Well, I didn't mean to throw it away. We're going to go straight to a new rear sprocket in the back so we can rev this thing up and see how much horsepower it makes. look at that okay yeah next thing I'm going to do is take this wheel off yeah you all saw that coming and then we'll put on our new sprocket then we'll put on our chain and we'll be ready to go oh look at that that's spinning .
Terribly we should show up like this at Mickey's Place Nikki would lose her mind, okay, Moment of Truth, the engine started earlier, but now she's on the bike, the engine runs, baby, it makes power, baby, that's for sure, that's for sure , of that, for sure. That's okay, so our session with Dino didn't go as planned, we made less horsepower than when this engine was idle. I have to go and I made a turn but I didn't put it in gear even though it was up and it's not going to work. do anything, I understand you, the fish will never do it, there are a couple of reasons why that's the main reason is we weren't getting enough fuel, you don't have enough fuel, you can't generate more power.
I took out our spark plug and you can see. It's white white is a good indicator that we are running lean, which means we have more air than fuel, that's not good, it's not good for the engine, it's not good for generating power either, here we have a spark plug that is black, They are standing on it. That means we're right in the range where we're getting enough fuel to generate power, so there are two things we're going to do to be able to get more fuel. The first is that we're going to take our intake manifold.
We're going to scale it down a little so that the carburetor gets as close to the intake side of the engine as possible. We only have to go 100 miles once, like everything else here. We only make it once to the donut graveyard. The second thing we are going to do is install a mechanical fuel pump driven by engine pressure, that way we make sure that our carburetor bowl is full of fuel all the time because right now it is only fed by gravity and there is the possibility that we are not getting enough fuel through our Jets to make Power forget gravity.
God is not welcome here. The third and most important thing is to make sure that we have this carburetor boosted correctly without our air-fuel ratio being perfect, be careful. pretty quick Jesus Christ, good luck, Dino day, new dinosaur place, John will help us. Mickey was not available to accommodate us. It doesn't surprise me that the mini bike is poised for success. The last time I want to do three and a half horses, we did three and a half horses. 12 horsepower I really want to make 30 horsepower if I'm honest, but I'll do anything over 10 would be good, do you know how to do this right, no I don't.
You're going to learn, you're going to get to the green. button Okay, for starters, okay, completely honest with you, I didn't know it was going to be Dyno either, I'm so nervous, is there anything I should keep in mind? Have you ever had a bicycle explode on you? melting my skin off my leg that's why I'm doing well fan on check air fuel ratio Shad, yeah it came out of this feeder you got towels let me go clean this up the bike was cutting out really high end , we only have says Max Seven Grand 7000 RPM, it's almost as if it were an ignition cut.
I don't know if there is any security associated with this. Max 16.4 horsepower, but you think that's 16 17 will get you over the line where you need to be. No, this thing will probably tune at about 9000 RPM, so we need to do something so that the gap between our coil and our flywheel is too tight, which can cause some ignition problems and potentially the reason this thing is dying. Don't know. Don't finish this, my wife is going to leave me, okay, nine thousand RPM, 18 horsepower, 71 miles per hour, come on, come on, let's take that Mickey, oh, this isn't going to do anything, it takes a piece of garbage.
We were able to get the little red one 71 miles per hour. hour we sure didn't reach our initial goal, but that's okay because horsepower isn't the only thing that will make this little pig hit 100 miles per hour. This is just the first of a three-part series that will be out all this week, so make sure you're subscribed to the channel so you don't miss when Jerry tries to drive this thing at 100 miles per hour. Best of luck, Jared.
