Living with the Tesla Cybertruck So You Don't Have To!

Mar 27, 2024
Very fast and agile, and at high speeds it softens a bit. a little bit and it's not that bad, you get used to it very quickly and then as I said the last component is the rear wheels which turn more than any other vehicle I

have

tried so far 10° in any direction and so when "You are turning quickly In a small parking lot, it's incredibly impressive how quickly you can get to parking spots and get in and out of things, and at highway speeds, it actually changes the direction of the rear wheel the same way as the front wheels, so "We're kind of sliding from lane to lane like I said.

It all comes together in this really nice package of very agile, impressive handling. It's not a sports car by any means, but it's really agile for a full-size truck. I've actually gotten to the point where I've gotten so used to it that I recently drove an F150 Lightning and felt like I was making a ton of extra moves to get the truck to make the same amount of turns even though the F-150 Lightning is decently agile, it's like all this extra movement makes it feel. You should be able to do this with every truck that is completely locked, that's crazy, but okay, let me explain a couple more build quality things from this front seat before I get to the back first, this rear view mirror, maybe Once the Dinki rearview mirror you'll ever see on a car this size is also almost useless because you don't actually see the back of the truck when the tunnel cover is closed, instead you

have

to deal with a Dinki rearview mirror. screen.

More Interesting Facts About,

living with the tesla cybertruck so you don t have to...

Classic Tesla Tesla wants to save money. We all know this should have been a screen for your rear view mirror to show here from the camera feed, but instead they put the camera feed on the screen because another screen means more cost and they don't do it. wanting more cost, it's annoying, but you have to remap your brain to check there instead of looking behind you, a pretty classic Tesla. Either way, you also have this gigantic expansive wind shield and the weird angle plays tricks on you because you feel like you can't see over the hood, but that corner is basically the hood, so you have a little bit of visibility there and then basically it's a cliff right there where it falls, so it's just a huge window and then a cliff and then at the top.

Off this cliff, here are your sunglasses, which are pretty big, but they're like half sunglasses again to keep out of the way, so the root over your head, then this half sun mask and then, like the Fisker, actually tiny. There are mirrors in each of these, but they actually open like this to the side, so there you have it, God, these are big, weird mirrors and then you have your light here so you can open it. I said, open it, you can open it. that on or off and then the last thing I want to talk about is these speakers that are really amazing.

This is one of the highlights. Back to Cyber Tru highlights. The best sound system I have ever heard in a truck. The five best sound systems. I have ever listened to it in a vehicle and I think the subwoofers are in the front, it really sounds like a thump and how they are really good subwoofers, but I think there are two subwoofers in the front, possibly in the doors, which end up sounding incredible. No, I don't want to check that because there are a lot of other speakers in the vehicle from one here to there, but brother, it sounds amazing in here, but let's do the back seat because it's actually a pretty comfortable back seat. experience and I'm a little in my head, I'm comparing it to other full size trucks like the F-150 Lightning but I also like the rivan r1t for example which is a little smaller, this is a really good backseat, so again One of my favorite tricks with this row of rear seats is that you have three across and if you open this up you can just lift those two rear seats up and get even more storage space.
I have these mats here, but that much storage space. very fast it is super convenient and I like that a lot. You put it back down and then you get in and I'm behind a 63 driving position here and oh wow, there's a good amount of legroom, you've got that little pocket right there. I have a bigger screen here in the back so for all your HVAC controls and media I would never use that because watching a movie Down By Your Knees is weird for me but you know you have the option if you want it oh just I had to pause. for a second, but I'm telling you anyway, like I said, it's a really good backseat.
One more thing I couldn't figure out how to do quickly was to lower this little center armrest, but there's a little hook here, you pull it and then you can. Lower the middle armrest and you have two cup holders and not much else, but at least you have that for the middle passenger, if you want to give someone a seat, there you go, these are comfortable seats, you know what's funny about all this . The thing about the back seat is that a lot of people are going to use the Cyber Tru like a full-size SUV. I'll talk more about this in the full review on the main channel, but this truck has very clear weaknesses like the other electric trucks in the off-road truck space.
Towing for example isn't very good at that stuff over long distances but SP spiler 90 and something for every people hardly ever use truck stuff with their trucks they buy F-150's and never tow or haul anything or maybe once a year they do it and so this truck is really amazing for that and if you took me on a road trip in any of these full size electric trucks, I'd probably want to be in the back seat of this one, to be honest, this one or the F- 150 Lightning, but this one still with the supercharger Advantage, it's real.
I'd rather be on this one, but hey, while we're talking about driving, I just want to mention that the Cyber truck's suspension is one of the most underrated things, it's certainly a highlight. so it has this air suspension with this huge amount of travel, this is right now one of the highest settings and it looks pretty tall, you can tell, but in sport mode it goes all the way down for maximum efficiency and arrow despite which is a bit of a cooler, but the point is that it can go down and it can go up even further in its maximum mode, which off-road seems silly and also so cool that there's like an extraction mode for if you're stuck on something that yeah, the people have gotten involved.
It got stuck on stuff, but it will go up even more, there's like a foot of total travel with the air suspension. Most impressive to me is the fact that there doesn't seem to be much body roll or yaw when you step on the accelerator. an F-150 Lightning type, the nose lifts up, everything rocks back and forth, this is surprisingly flat again, it's not a sports car, don't turn it, it won't feel stable like something much lower off the ground, but I expected it. a lot more body movement of this thing uh also while we're in the front let me press that front button this is a strange button because you don't pull it you like to press this button which is a little unusual but that's a pretty small front trunk, no you're going to lie to yourself, uh, you can put groceries in here, it's pretty small, you can carry the trunk if you want to sit here, you're covered from the rain, um, there's also a lot of talk about how dangerous this front trunk could be. specifically on these pinch points in the corners sounds like a test for the main channel, but I think the moral of the story is not to put your fingers near the pinch points while closing, just trust me on this one, but well, in the end.
The highlight of the Cyber Truck again, the first Tesla with a power-opening front trunk and a camera on the front, but again, I'll bring it back to the looks at the end of the day, this is one of those strangely polarizing vehicles where most Your verdict is probably already dictated by your looks, whether you like the way you look, which, believe me, when you drive down the street you realize a lot of people love it, or you hate the way you look and would never drive. This stainless steel refrigerator on wheels has all kinds of bug marks and stuff all over it, as you've seen.
I haven't had any rust issues or any issues yet. I don't really clean trucks very often, but so far. Well, but it's hard to ignore how much other tech stuff is under the hood. The 800-volt architecture surprisingly makes it the lightest electric truck among the Hummer EV, Rivan, and F-150 Lightning. It obviously has crazy suspension. which is actually able to make the computers inside all of these things work for it, but look, it's all about what you think of Aesthetics, so let me know in the comments what you think of Aesthetics. We also thank Ridge for sponsoring this video and providing it.
Cyber Tru that I've been testing for the last two weeks until I got mine, you may have seen it already, but I actually joined the Ridge board. I'm Ridge's main creative partner and we're working on a few that we're putting together. some very interesting things that you guys will see in the coming weeks, months and years making real products. I'm excited about that, but hey, they have the

cybertruck

here and we can get it out here and I actually already make a lot of very well made solid products, very similar to the Cyber Tru, the Ridge wallet that you've seen, but also the case for keys, they have a pen, my personal favorite is the travel backpack.
I have been using this backpack on trips in the past. A couple of weeks and it basically contains everything exactly what I want and nothing more. I just took an international trip. It has this cute little air tag holder and a passport cover. It's cool and they're doing an 11th anniversary sale right now. So if you go to Ridge/MKBHD you can go in there and there's a ton of stuff that I think is 30% off and also if you buy during the sale you can return stuff up to 365 days after you get it, no questions. the normal 99 days, which is already super generous, but hey, Ridge is clearly feeling generous that they're letting me try out their

cybertruck

for a while, so I'll leave it at that, there are only four electric trucks, they all struggle with the truck stuff.
The trucks. They carry long range, but they are all pretty big and nice SUV type vehicles, which one is your favorite? If you could leave one in your garage right now, would it be the attention-grabbing cyber truck or would you float a bit toward something like the F-150 Lightning? Rivan r1t more traditional, a little more off-road, a little more adventure, or are you a Hummer at heart? Let me know, thanks for watching, I'll catch you in the next one, peace.
