SUPER ORIGINAL Painted Arch Wall | Minimalist Entryway Design

Apr 18, 2024
Hello, welcome to my channel, my name is Taylor and welcome to all my new subscribers. Suddenly I jumped like 30 or 40 subscribers. Welcome to all new people. I'm glad you like my stuff. If they're new, I live in a newly built house and all I'm really doing with my channel is just trying to personalize it and make it look cool, that's all, so this is a weird angle, but behind me is my entrance, um, what I want to do with my entry is make it look cool. I have a few ideas: We've lived in this house for over a year and I've been completely neglecting this area because I wasn't sure about my color scheme, what decor scheme I wanted to go with what I now want.

I finally figured it out and you know what I can't keep putting this off. I'm going to keep going and I'm sure that whatever I do I'll end up liking it, so if you want to see what I do. what to do with my entry, please keep watching and again welcome to all the new people. I hope they stay. The cat was locked in here. Let's come here. Duncan. Lastly, about a month ago I posted a painting video and I like to redo and customize a piece of my son's play loft upstairs and I said my next video was going to be a continuation of the loft, but I'm not going to finish it now because I've been trying to find cheap used furniture and things to put it in the loft.

More Interesting Facts About,

super original painted arch wall minimalist entryway design...

I haven't seen what I was looking for on Facebook Marketplace or an offer or anything like that. If you haven't seen that video, I'll make it appear somewhere. Please go ahead and watch it. I had a great time, well let's get straight to the point, let's see what we're working with here, so if you're familiar with anything I've said, my other videos, all the doors and trim are being

painted

rest gray by Sherwin Williams working. On that, I've already

painted

this molding here a little messy there in preparation for what I want to do with this

wall

and I'm slowly walking around the room.

I'm thinking about painting this bench black and putting in some baskets. There to store hats and things like that. I just received this baby gate from Facebook marketplace. It's used and I went ahead and painted it black to complement my dining room chairs. This floating console table is from CB2. It is actually mounted lower down. than it should be, it's about the right height for where I wanted it, but since I'm tall, once I mounted the mirror to complement the height of the console table and all that crap, I thought, "Okay, the mirror It's too short for me." so I move the mirror up and now that I've been putting it off I need to go ahead and move the console table up and fill in the holes and make it look more cohesive so I'm not going to drill pilot holes or anything because I can already see where the studs are there's one and there's one the rest are anchors so I don't need to see where the studs are so now I'm just going to drill whoops I'm just going to drill new holes and just Move everything to up and I've moved it probably about four and a half inches up.

You want to choose a bit that is the same width as your screws without the threads, at least that's what my husband told me, I don't know. I've broken a lot of these, you know what it's probably always a good idea to start small, so we'll just stick with it now, aren't we going to wait? What am I doing? Wait, what have I done? What's going on here? Okay, scratch what I did. I just said about the drill bit and screws, that's not important because the screws are just going to go into the dry

wall

. You could make a small hole for better fit, but what you really need to worry about is the size of the anchor holes.
I mean, I think these are screw-in anchors, how did I do this before? Sometimes when you get anchors, they are screwed into the wall as is and are not necessary. I mean, it's probably a good idea to drill a pilot hole, oh come on. Go ahead and poke a little hole first, oh and the nice thing about having a new construction house is that we have a video of what the inside of all our walls look like so we know we're all wires and plumbing and whatever, because We document all that. before the drywall went up, oh no, even though the tip of that anchor broke, I went ahead and just put the broken anchor into the wall anyway because it went in fine, just go slow with your drill.
The good thing about this is that anything you do is repairable, so don't be scared, just if you think you can do it, try it, is it annoying to repair things? Yes, but is it the end of the world? No, and then you put in your daggone screws. I'll see. it even says a sign on the wall so don't climb it oh my gosh wow there's a ridge sticking out and then there's one of these on the back of the console table and the lips right above the line and This is how it hangs on the wall and if we are lucky the console table will cover these holes in the wall, wouldn't that be cool?
And then when we decide to move in a few years, I'll be mad at myself for not plugging the holes sooner, oh, do it. you want some food oh hell yeah it covers the holes and now it doesn't look so silly anymore, it may actually be mounted too high. Hello, okay, it's the next day. I'm going to do the next thing I wanted to do and I'm going to do something you guys have probably never seen before. I'm going to paint an

arch

on the wall. I mean, I know how innovative, so how am I going to do it.
I already have this

arch

ed mirror which I obviously like the shape of this wall. It goes from there to there and it's pretty high, but I'm going to ignore that space up there. I'm going to use the mirror as a reference to know how big my wall should be. I'm thinking maybe here and then expand as such. over here, but I'm going to use the mirror as a guide to draw it and show you how I do it, so I already have the mirror lined up the way I want I think, so I'm just going to do it, since I'm painting this wall anyway, I'm just going to mark the sides.
I think this is about how tall it is. Let me see where that hook is. Yeah, okay, we're going to pretend this is the top of the mirror, so what I'm going to do is. I'm just going to measure the lines that made about 31 and 3 8. I just used my calculator for that, you know, we're going to go like 15 and a half, that's like half, so let me mark that up, okay, okay. Yeah, I mean, you know what I could have done. It could have come down directly from this center where the hook is centered on the mirror.
Anyway, I'll probably leave it in the video because that's the natural process of things when I do things like this. Okay, I need a long rope, so now I'm going to grab some thread. Hello, future edition of Taylor here. Okay, let me give you a quick pro tip. Don't use something that is elastic or stretchable like what I'm doing. In this clip here use something like metal wire or something that's plastic or anything that's not sewing thread because every time you try to draw your bow you're going to get a different result each pass, which you'll see me doing. here on a couple of clips, okay, don't waste your time, use wire or something plastic, just don't use something that stretches, okay, bye, look how many different ways I could draw this bow with a piece of thread, depending of how he held it. the pencil and how high I was stretching it anyway, there are my paint samples, okay, so the idea is that when you walk in the front door, these paint samples will complement my curtains that I have there in my dining room, already you know what I mean.
I'm sorry if you can hear my son crying in the background, he doesn't want to take a nap, but he will and now I'm just going to use painter's tape to line up the straight parts on each side so they at least look good and then continue. I think the fall surprise matches my curtains better, but it's a little too dark. The next one I like the most is harvesting, so I'm going to mix them together. Two samples, honestly, could complete the flow. Well, this is where we are. So far I'm basically done, but take a look, ignore the mess you can see in the mirror.
Oh, it's just under eight feet tall, but look how cool, oh love, and then I bought this rug. This is the fourth mat I have tried. here but this is from leloy or loloie I don't know I'll link it or whatever but I love it okay and then the front door almost finished painting the front door and the rest in gray and like probably I already said, all the doors in my house and all the moldings will be relocated very nicely, as you can see, I'm still working on it, just brushing here and there, there are so many places in my house where I started painting the gray and didn't finish the The entire staircase is finished.
I don't know if you've ever painted the trim, but it's so annoying to paint now. All that's really left here is that I'm going to hang a coat rack right there so my guests can stop putting their coats on. on the floor and my cats will stop sitting on them and uh, I don't know, finish painting and do some decorating, then we're done, this is smaller than I thought. I have to be careful not to mount things too high since I'm tall, I moved both up to make it aesthetically pleasing for me, but as for yeah, I'm five nine, my husband is like six one, so we're both people high, so I try not to. to set up things that are mainly this joanna broken this has been used wow thank you target thank you obama this thing is really moving what the hell yes I would let you out if I didn't tape the door shut sorry oh no I guess you I'll have to be a indoor cat for today, how terrible, how horrible, holy, someone loved you.
Okay, now I'm going to figure out where I want to get this. If we have the crooked one closer to me, we are closer to the door. That's the question Oops, oh god, yeah, I don't think there's a stud. We have the worst stud finder in the world. I don't even know why we still use it. Well, all four are going to be anchors until you learn otherwise, so all you do is drill a little pilot hole, drill a pilot hole, just drill a little hole and see if there's a stud. I wish I had a smaller drill bit, but I broke them all.
I'm probably going to break this. I'm so sorry, it just didn't die, there's no stud, there's no stud, I think I have anchors that you just screw into the wall, no, that's fine, and you could remove the anchor, so when that happens, you'll get your dagum hammer, it's okay, let's all try this. true, this one is bad, but we don't need to talk about it, everything will probably be fine as soon as she doesn't screw up any others, okay, she's there great and that's what maybe we should have gotten something from. a little bigger oh hey a little bigger right there wow everyone knows you always put things in there to personalize what else what else everyone knows you need to put a little straw hat on your gum of the day , otherwise how will people know that you are aesthetic, so we have the big muscle man here to help me, oh man, do you realize this is going in the video I already know, oh my god, chase it why I feel, it's smart now yes, this is for the children, their baskets, look at your eyes, oh my God, my eyes. my drinking eyes look at that blood oh my god where did you get those quads from?
The quad shop. I don't know how to chase. I definitely feel like this would cut your wrist. He's gone for the cat food. Wow, nice, dry, stinky. Can you turn it off? Thermostat, don't let me forget to turn it back on. God, they make such a good team. Wow, that's why we left the baby gate closed.
