right now and the CDC says limit gatherings to less than 50 people, schools are closing in Everywhere Across the country, just like bars, clubs and restaurants, everyone is closing or limiting service to takeout only and it looks like this will be available for the foreseeable future and it's something I've been seeing and want to post. There's a kind of people who have real anger toward people who serve people who are in places to help you get information, whether it's people who are behind the counters, you know, putting people in grocery stores, to the people who are yelled at and B. we need everyone to accept that this is happening to everyone, it is not happening to white people, or black people, or Asian people, nor is it happening to us. happening to all of us, and I wonder if you feel you know the tension that there seems to be. attack us as human beings who are going through this.

I think the interesting thing is that people are so concerned with themselves that you're seeing the worst part of human nature, but I'm out there trying to block each other, but we really have to be together and metaphorically together, but literally apart to deal with this right now and I think people are so busy thinking about themselves that when they stockpile hand sanitizer and other things, yeah, yeah, thanks for sharing when everyone, when they stockpile that they're you don't save yourself from people, you don't allow buying things like people seem to turn inward when we really need to make sure we keep our eyes outward.

Yes, I have seen some things you know on the Internet that have disappointed me. fighting over toilet paper and hoarding things, but I've also seen the best of humanity, you know, people helping too. There was a video of an elderly couple in a car and they were waiting for someone to drive by and the woman hit another woman. a hundred dollars on a shopping list and I said we are 80 years old, we don't want to go to the supermarket where my lord, could you do my shopping for me? Hello, I have also seen it very well, yes, I don't.

I know my children are at home. My mother, who runs a school, is also home now due to the New York City ban. I'm a restaurant owner, so our restaurant has been really affected and we're going to close, but I think. You know, it's time for us all to get together. I think it's okay that our restaurant is closing because we have to be safe not only for our staff but also for our neighbors, but you know, can I just talk about the toilet paper? I think a lot of people have missed the real point with that, you know, and people say, yeah, he's making some jokes like what's the story with toilet paper, but I read a very interesting analysis by a psychologist about it and I think which is absolutely correct. and toilet paper represents above all fear, stress and anxiety on the part of everyone to address a basic bodily function that we all need to eat, we all need to go to the bathroom and in times like this, where there is so much uncertainty, it is an example of something that people feel they can do to gain some control in an otherwise chaotic situation, so I think it's just a metaphor.

It turns out it's toilet paper because it's an important bodily function, but it really speaks to who you are. To say that people are nervous, they're afraid, it's understandable, it's a normal reaction and I think the appropriate reaction is to simply focus on what's important right now. We can't control many things with this outbreak, but we can control our actions, our efforts, and our preparation to address them. I think this has been a total referendum on our distrust in our institutions in this country. There is a clear complete distrust of government at a level that I don't think I realized and I'm conservative and I fear big government as it is, the mixed messages coming out of the White House right now are not only irresponsible but they are completely dangerous.
You have Devin Nunez going on TV saying oh, it's okay, socialize, it's okay, hug people, it's okay when you have the president of the United States, who can't even stand not shaking hands during a press conference, preaching lead by example and we're not seeing a lot of encouraged profiles coming out of the White House right now and I think that's what's fueling the anxiety and right now I've only seen panic to the nth degree hoarding toilet paper yelling at each other or total delusions with a group of Millennials partying in bars and I was furious about this over the weekend because I stayed inside with my husband all weekend. do not worry about your own health, about the health of your parents, about the health of your grandparents, about people over 60 years old, because what you are doing compromises everyone and it seems that there is no middle ground, it is not necessary that there is calm in what is happening. and I think it starts at the top and if there are people who say oh, Jared Kushner is in charge, I'm sorry if I don't think that's not going to handle everything well and if you can't even get through a press conference without shaking. hands and put yourself in a position where you two could be compromised, so we're supposed to say six feet apart, but the press corps is jumping in a spot in front of the president and he has to say success, but there's contradictory messages in all. the path around that adds to the chaos, that's a great point, the optics are hard to follow because you're telling someone one thing, you're saying we got to a part and their shoulder to shoulder all the time and also to the point of Megan.
About leading by example, I think there is a lot of confusion right now because this is a new virus; To begin with, there is simply confusion in the world of medicine and science, but you know, if someone is exposed to a known and confirmed case, there is no clear indication to test that person, what exists is a responsibility social of self-quarantine and that is not only for our own protection, it is for the protection of those around us, we can also point something out to people who have been exposed to the virus. It means they're going to drop dead, everyone needs to calm down, right, you need to calm down, that's not what it means there are a lot of people who have been exposed who may or may not have symptoms that we won't know until we see them, but it's not It's a death sentence and everyone needs to stop thinking that, oh my God, I'm going to die, that's not what's happening, you know, now you're talking a lot more about this on 20/20 and what we would be on a primetime special.
I would do it. We'll be on ABC ten ET starting in 2020, delving again into what we know and what we don't know about the corona virus pandemic. We will answer
