included a roundtable with superfans representing each album of the year nominee discussing why they think their favorite should win and there was this woman, a 78-year-old lady. years of Canada, who was a huge Harry Styles fan, kept reading people the right act about why Harry would win and sure enough at the end Trevor Noah was on stage, she has the envelope, he's about to read it and he turns around and I think, uh oh. the show is going off the rails here and he runs to that lady.

I like to let her make this watch. I like that too and the Grammy is for, you can read it. Harry Styles is 78 years old, her name is Rina, she is from Ontario, Canada, no. He only got to say his name once he got it out, they let him give him his Grammy, yeah, but look what he did when he went up there, yeah, when he went up to get it, he gave him a big, long hug that I just thought probably meant a lot. for her, but that's really who he is and he loves older women, yeah, ah, he has a history of that, I mean, who doesn't do well, so I'll take the Grammys even if I talk at the table .

It's the big Grammys celebration of 50 years of hip-hop, check it out, rappers can't stand it, but respect us, what a moment hip hop was. Legends LL Cool J Method Man Queen Latifah Run DMC and many, many more they played on. on the Grammy stage last night and then for the first time in nine years, Jay-Z performed at the Grammys, the 24-time winner 24-time wow, he joined DJ Khaled to perform a nearly five-minute verse from the song God did to close the show and I can't help but mention a special award for Dr Dre last night. The legendary rapper and producer received the newly renamed first-ever Dr Dre Global Impact Award.

Forcing decades in music and contributions to culture is just a great moment. Yes, I thought so too. I love that he received the first Dr Dre award and received it and accepted it. It's also amazing. My table talk is an inside look behind the scenes. Clive Davis' legendary and iconic pre-Grammy gala at the Beverly Hilton Hotel was Saturday night. This star-studded event returned for the first time in three years. Maron Morris was there. I mean, Sheryl Crow performed there. Of course, there's Clive, who was introduced by Kevin Costner. Jennifer Hudson pays tribute to Whitney Houston. This was the tenth anniversary of her death.

By the way, she gave a spectacular performance. She had a lovely neighbor to sing with while we watched The One and Only Frankie Valli perform. I know I love this song too. Pictures, everyone was standing because it was so loud on my iPhone. The sound was really great on my iPhone, it sounds a little muffled in there, but everyone was standing, no one knew Frankie Valli was in the room, he's 85 years old and everyone, young, old, everyone seems to know this song, what do you think? Does the Grammys seem good? First of all, friend, haven't you been taking singing lessons?

I'm in it and I guess I hosted Jimmy Kimmel over the summer a while ago and it just reinvigorated my desire to do it again so I'm really excited to get in we have Rafael Warnock tonight.

It is an interesting choice for the first guest. You chose it. Because? Well, because I admire him a lot because he had a very close race in Georgia this year and because he is one of the stars. of the Democratic Party you think you're going to ask him anything about Herschel Walker I think I might have to do it now I think I might have to say something about that I find Herschel Walker very disturbing you know the fact that it was a close race and he even was a candidate so I think we're going to have to address it but you know a thing or two about late night TV and there are no women on late night TV why do you think? that's it and why do you think you could change that Chelsea Handler?

Many people approach you. Well, well, thank you. I mean, I have a pretty good track record of doing it, you know, and I love it. I am in the mood to work and I think when you are in the mood to work and you have the right attitude that you always deliver the goods, a lot has happened since your show ended, we had the metoo movement. I've had a global pandemic, the world is different as you sit at the table tonight, are you different in any way as a comedian? Yeah, I think we've all had to evolve and I, and fortunately, you know I'm actually not.

I'm interested in all these people talking about the parameters of cancel culture and how limiting it is. It's not that it's limiting. All they ask you to do is not be sexist or racist. That is not a difficult task. No, when people complain about that, I feel very. I have a very strong desire to put on a show and show people that it's not that hard to achieve, you know? So I'm really looking forward to getting back into the night scene. Yes, you mentioned cancel culture and you say that You're not afraid of being canceled that's why because of the parameters in which people are canceled you're like, "I'm not okay, I'm not an idiot, so I'm not going to do anything to make you cancel." I know I'm smart enough to understand the pulse of what's happening and change your you know behavior and make your jokes not directed at anyone so as not to be discriminatory, that's not difficult, right?

Actually, you know, challenge every comedian to be one. a little smarter and I accept that challenge. I like when you said you know I'm not an idiot and it's not hard to do it, it's really not hard not to be racist, not to be sexist, you've gone on record saying you don't want to make fun of celebrities anymore, what do you mean? Well some of them deserve it, you know what I mean, it's like Elon Musk, I have no problem making fun of him, or you know some of those other people who are just displaying bad behavior, but not these young girls who They're innocent, you know, on my old show we made fun of Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan and you could see the damage that all of that did, you know, as a society where we all huddled together.

These girls are kind and innocent, you know, so that's not necessary. I think you know that the people who are the biggest targets are the people who take advantage of everyone and don't bother, yeah, yeah. and you're going on a trip I have a new comedy your new comedy I don't know if we can say it the witch you call it The Rich rhymes with is a small big yes and rhymes with which oh yes yes yes yes, I'm going on tour. I just released a new special on Netflix called Revolution and to continue I will do another tour of all the stories of mine when I was a child because they refer to yourselves. the little big witch yeah I've been like that since I was born you guys it's not a new condition I was born with it.

I love Los Angeles, but you know I go to bed at eight o'clock in Los Angeles. Not much happens. I wouldn't be opposed to moving to New York City. I've never lived in New York in my entire life, and I, you know, I'm open to it, I'm sure there's a lot of action here.
