Viveca's Decoupage on Glass

Jun 08, 2021
I have been working with

decoupage

for many years and my latest way of doing it is

decoupage

on

glass

. I think it is very interesting because it gives a three-dimensional effect and that is quite important because you obtain totally different depths. your decoupage right now i'm making my bowls with winter leaves, frosty leaves and berries etc. and that's the theme of this bowl. What I do is I just put it on with some angel tape and then if I decide it's good, then I start gluing things on, but I'll glue them on the back. Now this is what I have.

I have a lot of clothes in there and I need to get rid of that and the air bubbles. What I am doing now is I am chatting because I have too much paper as the paper will not burn like the bowl, if I don't I will have some very big bubbles underneath later now that the motif is finished and that is the procedure of cleaning. very important I am cleaning the glue that I have been using when I glued the default year now I am going to look for paper to find a background for the sickness terribly boring my favorite papers are the Japanese papers because the paper is very It is lovely to work with, it is pleasant, soft and very easy to shape, which is very important when you work with decoupage.

I think this is it, so now I'm going to measure strips of paper so I can glue them together. A decoupage in a reasonably uniform way is a very old art form and it is called the poor man's art because the poor man did not have the possibility to buy real works of art, so what the men and women did was cut out cutouts and make its own type of works of art how to make sure there are no spaces between them that are covered that the straight lines are on top of each other probably comes from Venice and after that it has spread all over the world, even to Japan and China and soil.

I'm joking with some of the materials here because there are so many layers on top of each other that makes them bold and stable and even Queen Victoria started the comparison, then you can move on to the Danish queen ie. Plus, there are plenty of people doing that kind of work today. It's so funny because when you put glue on it, it's milk white, but when the glue dries, it turns transparent, so it's just a regular tape of yours. glue that the children are using now. I'm just going to put a little bit of glue because you can see that and a little bit of grip here and I want to make sure that they're covered in the glue as well, it seems to be stable, that's good.

I can let it sit now until tomorrow. I have chosen this paper to go on the outside of the bowl because I think it looks harmonious, it goes very well with the inside and I also think it will look very good with the receipts. which I am going to put later this is wrapping paper for gifts that is fine and bubbly and very easy to work with so you can use all types of paper my friends are joking with me because when I receive a gift I am more I am more interested in the wrapping than the gift itself yeah, so they do a lot to create and find interesting type of packaging.
Well, I thought I'd let it dry before putting in my reasons. Now I'm going to cover this bowl. with a motif and I have chosen this one. The most important thing when you have a cat is not to leave anything white around your motif because that would stand out later and especially on the inside of the boat but even on the outside so cutting is very important. key for any type of decoupage and what you do, if you have a white dot in the middle of the motif, you just cut it out or color it with a pen the same color as the motif so you can't see it anymore I have decided to have motifs on the outside like I have them on the inside, but before I do that I just need to cut out all this flimsy stuff and I do it with a closed scan, so now I'm Gluing this paper on the edge to make sure it doesn't open because later when I go to varnish this I need to know that the paper is actually glued to the boat since I'm using varnish that is water soluble and you can't put those bowls in water but you can have water in them because it's just

on the inside but of course you have to make sure let your pattern stick to the bowl, I think right now.
I'm working on the fourth layer of paper and there's still a long way to go because when this bowl is dry I'm going to varnish it and I'm going to varnish it at least thirty times because I want the outside to be the same as the glass. and that requires many coats and you have to let the varnish dry at least 24 hours before applying the next coat, so this process is really very long and I think it's also a very interesting process because first you start with this. a lot of paper and then after two layers it always starts to shine and that's very interesting because then you get the depth in your bowl and that's what's so interesting so you get the depth in this decoupage outside and inside it's an assembly of different types of material and would you mainly try to make a story from decoupage?
In my opinion, it's important to have a story behind it and to start with a glass that's really transparent and end with something like this. Think that this really satisfies you.
