I am 61 years old. old man now I'm still finding cars and in this series you'll see there are still a lot of cars left but it's the car next door that interests me so this is where the Duesenberg is hidden we're on our way to meeting a guy named Jerry Turner Turner's Auto Wrecking in Fresno, California, so we hit the website and turned around.

Okay, I need. Okay, let's wander around. I'll come back and see you later Jerry, thank you so much, beautiful car, thank you and you're a very nice guy for letting us do this, thank you. I'm sure there was a recent Duesenberg Ajmer leader. This is a '65 Ford Galaxie 500. It has 350 cubic inches, which is the smallest of the Y block series engines, but it has 30,000 miles on it, this is a 30,000 mile car and if you look at all the typical rust spots, nice clean metal with 30,000 miles I think the Haggerty guide says it's probably worth $9,000 in good condition $15,000 in good condition and if it was in concours condition in the low 20s that would be one of the cheapest ways to get into a classic car from the mid 60's and this is a desirable, pillarless, two door model. hardtop it's a nice car it says you can't fix stupid I don't know if you can't fix this car though another car from California look at it so this is a you know we've seen a real increase in interest in wagons I don't know if you would sell this car, but what I mean would be great to clean it up, obviously we need a paint job because it matches, drop it on some cool wheels and tires, that would be nice. cool car and very rare I mean I don't remember the last time I saw your nose dying look at a lunch yeah so a semi exotic car we're just saying it's $100 lien sales tips and I don't know. what you do with it, what we're looking at here is a bunch of cars that have had parts removed but still have pretty good parts left.

I think I see a headlight, you see anything, oh wow, an old Buick, look at that, it's a touring car, which means it's a convertible Wow, look at this baby, wow, so it's a huge convertible, so this is the convertible top folder back here so this car will be about 20 feet long this is a really cool

find it's a The late model T so 26 27 28 was the first year of the Model A, so this is the closest Model T to a Model A. In fact, many of the development parts were the same from the T to the A, but this is a Roche will pick it up, so this is a pickup truck Rare and desirable, it appears to be unrestored or perhaps it was restored 50 years ago, who knows, but it is a roadster, meaning you could fold the top down and the windshield had a separate post that you could open it to. get the air flowing but it was also a very, very strange truck, look what we have here which is a Flanders made in Detroit, Michigan, now look at this, it's cool, that's the windshield, so we keep the bugs out of the driver's eyes. very good it looks like it's made of brass sometimes speedsters like this used a left front fender on the right rear and vice versa but these rear fenders are not the same as the front ones they are definitely front fenders and need to have a sweep upwards. in the back, a weird car, my goodness, well, it could be nineteen, ten, twelve, something like that, obviously, it's been restored.

I wonder if Jerry restored it. We'll ask him about it and it looks great. It is a 34 Ford to see one of the most beautiful cars. It was then that Edsel Ford began to influence the design of Ford Motor Company cars. It was actually designed by Bob Gregory under the direction of Edsel Ford's son Henry and the way I know it's a '34 is the easiest way to tell is that it has two hoods. drive one here one here there locks a 33 looks practically identical and had a handle in the middle but obviously that wasn't enough and there's the flathead v8, probably the original engine, a carburetor, a Ford downdraft I think it's a 94 two-cylinder Ford.
A nice car. I don't know if it has been restored to its original, but if I look at the mohair interior, it looks original to me. How many miles does this car have? Wow, it says 16,000 miles, wouldn't that be awesome? So the seats. They are not even worn the dashboard still has the wood grain dash I would say it is the original car, it is a very special car, well that is the find of the day, right there a vehicle that looks like Willy's Jeepster, many things in the hood, but we have I lifted it up and looked inside and it's a six stand, they came with a flathead four and they also had a 6-1 low, so this is kind of a hot rod, it was a sporty version of a jeep , it had two-wheel drive and Willy's came out with this because, well, the Thunderbirds, the early MGT DS Corvettes and their Jaguars, and Willy's was the only one that made these commercial vehicles, jeeps, pickup trucks, military vehicles with four-wheel drive , so they came out with a sporty version called Jeepster, I don't know what.
In the state it's in, you'd have to take it outside, wash it and take a look at it, but it's a California car, it's probably been here for decades. The Haggerty Guide says it's probably in the $16,000 range, in good condition and in good shape. contest conditions around 40 something thousand dollars forty-eight thousand dollars in contest conditions once you know how much more you invest in your car, the audience should have to buy that car becomes less and less, more people would be interested in buying it so in concourse condition because they can, they can put their effort into it and build it themselves into the car they want and save a lot of money, but if you just want to be a beautiful Jeep, go to a showroom and buy one, and if you paid in 40's you wouldn't pay too much, but this would be a fun vehicle, don't think about it, it's a convertible, it will hold a family in its bucket seats in the front and probably three small children in the back.
It would be ideal to have this for walks on the weekends. It's not very complicated. Anyone can do repairs on this very basic vehicle and you can get many parts. Know? Would this be a good rod to remove the bodywork? frame restore frame put a late model transmission in there with an

auto

matic and air conditioning is put the body back on and just drive it as is or mercury here's a special Buick not so special to me but it's the car next to it that gets me interest and it's this copper colored 57 Chevy two door hardtop air coupe, again you know that the most popular sport models are the cars without a pillar and between the front window and the rear window to have an

auto

matic transmission, so it's probably The original probably has the original 283 engine.
It has magnetic wheels. I'll show you the bumper here. California bumpers on '57 Chevys were different than the rest of the country. The front bumper on a '57 California was a smooth piece of metal. The road through cars that were built on the east coast had a seam in the bumper, so it was actually three pieces of metal that joined this piece and that piece that were welded together, so the guys at the east coast are always looking for the 57 Chevy West Coast bumper so they have a nice and perfect look so this is definitely a west coast car let's see what's under the hood.
Now these cars came with us a 283 and you can get them with four cylinders and there is a power unit with two four cylinders, so it's a 283. I would say it has a generator and a two cylinder carburetor. It does not have power brakes. It has manual brakes. But it's a cool car. This is as substantial a car to find. 32 Ford Roadster is a good find, this is probably the best car we found besides that 34 Ford, the best car was found in any of these barns here today. I think it's a 67, years in Jeepster I called it a 48, but it could all really read well and it has a small block Chevy, so what would you order?
Willy's. I think it's worth $4,000. It's Cheri. It can't be a joke. How about the 34 Ford sedan? It's lovely, it's not for sale. It is an original low mileage car I doubt it because I had it restored everything was done well I am sure now that we see on the side it was a it could be a Flanders Flanders I swear it was a Flanders it was 19 1010 it had the monocle Yes, windshield : how did you restore that? You've had it for a while. My dad was a great guy to play with. He had a 32 car to ride in the roaring 20's.
He had a 19-6 Rio to ride with a single cylinder on tour. He bought the Flanders to go with the four-cylinder from the first tour. Okay, he loved playing now. What about the original Roche 2070? To choose the black one, it is on sale. It would be firewood. 25 2,500 2,500 2,500 for the roadster truck. How about the '65 Ford Galaxie 500, I think the cars are worth 5 thousand mm-hmm, the mileage is forty-eight thousand thirty thirty thousand when we got it, the carburetor caught fire and burned the hood, we changed the carburetor and We put another hood on it, it never went off.
After that, I have to say that you are the nicest junkyard man I have ever met. You know, really, you know the men at the junkyard and they're all suspicious and grumpy and you know there's nothing for sale if you want it, they don't. sell it. I've been going to junkyards my whole life looking for old cars and parts. Jerry Turn is probably the nicest man I have ever met in a junkyard. He gave us a complete tour of the place and said you can go wherever you want. inside any building and back, the cars we found in the barns were actually for sale and at good prices, it just goes to show that maybe sometimes there are treasures hidden in plain sight, happy hunting.
