Triumph vs Ducati Scrambler! Which One is BEST?

May 30, 2021
Alright guys, if you saw my first ride and my first impression of the Triumph Street Scrambler you will know that I really like this bike, it can make a lot of sense for the street rider, it is a lot of fun to ride and it is a great motorcycle to own and enjoy. However, I also have a

scrambler

, this is my

ducati

scrambler

desert sled edition and I've seen a lot of comments after posting that video saying: ooh, do you like

triumph

more than your own sled? Are you going to sell the sleigh and? get a win, well, today we will compare these two motorcycles and answer the question:

which

one do I prefer more?
triumph vs ducati scrambler which one is best
So this

triumph

here is one of our freebie motorcycles if you click the link below for yamaneup.com. You can find out how to enter to win this free Street Scrambler along with many other motorcycles. You will also have access to our community discord server,

which

in my opinion is the

best

place for beginners and aspiring drivers to learn and understand. more about motorcycles now, when it comes to scramblers, in my opinion they are a little difficult to review and ride because, when it comes to motorcycles today, they are all very specialized in what they are supposed to do, sport bikes They go fast on dirt tracks. the bikes do well off road, these bikes are in the middle of everything and that's why I really like them personally, they are stylish, comfortable and can do a lot of cool things, so someone might approach this win and say "oh , it is not". as fast as a sports bike and someone might get on that desert sled and say it can't tackle single track like my 250 but it's not really about that but there is a bit of an elephant in the room those of you who They are very familiar with scrambler lineups, they might say well, yami triumph will sell you the triumph xc and the xe, which seems like a more natural competitor for the desert sled, but in my opinion, since those bikes have 400cc more, They are much more expensive and are much more technologically advanced than these two motorcycles.

More Interesting Facts About,

I think these two motorcycles actually compete much closer than you might think, with that in mind let's take a look at the specs. Okay guys, talking about the Triumph Street Scrambler, first. This is all an 11,000 motorcycle so the price is very similar to the Ducati we'll talk about in a moment and it features a 900cc liquid cooled parallel twin engine with a 270 degree crank. This has been a staple for the Bonneville line and is a very modern and nice engine, I quite like it, it has a velvety amount of power and torque, it features 65 horsepower and 59 pound-feet of torque.
triumph vs ducati scrambler which one is best
Now this bike weighs about 500 pounds wet and is ready to ride. Triunfo only claims dry weight, so we have to do a little magic to get to that final number. It has 41 millimeter non-adjustable forks at the front with a cartridge style that has been revised for 2020 and at the rear we can see that it has this dual shock absorber. setup, it also features this nice set of tall tubes, it has a five speed gearbox, the fifth being a big overdrive, it's not much different from a six speed gearbox like you would see on a normal motorcycle.
triumph vs ducati scrambler which one is best
Now, one big thing I want to point out is that the ground clearance of this machine is that it's a scrambler, it's designed to take on all types of terrain and it has a disappointing ground clearance of five and a half inches here with a plate plastic protector that makes you believe that Triumph really doesn't intend for you to take on gnarly rocks with this thing, yet it features a 19-inch front with wire wheels and a 17-inch rear right there, the height of the Seat on this machine is approximately 31.1 inches, so it is very appropriate. and suitable for new riders and anyone with a shorter inseam, it is a very easy motorcycle to ride and the ergonomics package is quite reasonable, as I show you here in this clip, this motorcycle features a very classic setup here at the front with This large analog speedometer features three independent driving modes, off-road mode, wet mode and street mode.
Off-road mode will disable the rear abs and traction control as well, making it a pretty fun and intuitive motorcycle to ride, no matter what the key is between you. If you know anything about dirt bikes you'll notice that this is hampered a bit by their 41k non-adjustable forks, low seat height and low ground clearance, let's see if it's the same story now with the desert sled, as many of you know. This is my personal

ducati

scrambler desert sled. I love this bike and let me tell you a little bit about the specs why, so this thing is 11,995 off the showroom floor and is powered by Ducati's lovely 803cc air-cooled two-valve engine. using this for years on all kinds of different motorcycles and it really shows that it's a tried and true platform and it's pretty impressive it makes about 75 horsepower and 52 pound-feet of torque, it weighs 440 pounds ready to ride which It's about 60 pounds lighter than the Triumph Now, the most important thing I want to point out here is the size and stature of this motorcycle.
It features fully adjustable 46 millimeter Kyb forks at the front with rebound, compression and preload and has a monoshock at the rear that also has full adjustability. That makes this bike elevated because it has a big long travel suspension fork which is really different than the Street Scrambler, unlike the Street Scrambler, plus this thing has a 6 speed gearbox which is different than the 5-speed Triumph. a traditional gearbox like you would be used to on a normal motorcycle. Now another important thing I want to point out is the ground clearance on this machine. We're working with nine and a half inches of ground clearance now that it's Yamaha Tenerife. 700 territory which is adventure bike territory this is some serious stuff on this machine and as you can see here I have definitely taken this thing on my fair share of adventures as evidenced by my muffler here this bike comes from the factory with Pirelli.
Rally scorpion str tires which are higher spec tires than the torrence metzlers that the triumph comes equipped with, they have a 19 inch front and a 17 inch front end just like the triumph too so that's pretty good and The most important thing I want to point out I also inform you that this motorcycle has a seat height of 34 inches which is three inches higher than the Triumph and that makes a big difference in your riding posture, as I show you in the ergonomics review of this machine on the front that Ducati makes. It doesn't have cool analog tachometers or speedometers or anything like that.
It's got an LCD dash up here and it has abs that can be turned off, but there are no driving modes. Your right wrist is the driving mode on this machine. It's a little more even. Now that I've given you an idea and a taste of these two machines, what do you say we take them out on the road and see what they're like to drive? Okay guys, first to cut and block is my own Ducati. Scrambler Desert Sled let's swing a leg over this machine like I've done so many times and the first thing you notice about this bike is the imposing stance these wide bars this high seat has.
I love the way this bike fits. It fits as a naked adventure bike or a super mode of some sort and you turn it on here and you get that lovely classic air-cooled Ducati sound. I have an aero exhaust on mine so it sounds spicy, let's go for a ride. The first thing I noticed about the desert sled. The first thing I always noticed is how fun it is. You know, these big, wide bars give you such an imposing stance on this bike and the biggest thing you want on one. The bike that is meant to go off road is its ability to stand upright and this bike has that, so when you stand up on this bike you have a really commanding stance on it, the bars are really nice, wide and tall, and I feel super comfortable standing on this one.
It looks like it was designed to do it, and in fact, it can do it here. We'll just get over this little obstacle, this little curb, this bike can basically take on anything. In fact, I've taken this thing on some big adventure rides. Through New Mexico through Big Bend National Park there are all kinds of places and it pretty much does it all with the plum. In fact, I've taken it down ice, mud, gravel, rocks, all types of terrain and the sled really doesn't care, man. It just tackles things with ease, but what's it like when you actually take it out on the road?
Let's find out. Another thing I really enjoy about the desert sled is that it loves to do wheelies. It's always been my favorite thing about this bike. just extremely fun, it's crazy how Ducati built a secret superbike and it really shows that I've always really enjoyed these engines. I remember in 2015 I tested a ducati scrambler icon and this engine is so lovely it has such good bass. Final growl and midrange grunt um, not much in the name of top end, but it feels really, really good, so this two-valve Ducati engine here really fits the bill for being a real classic type of engine, it feels all.
It looks a bit like a classic motor, but what I really love about the sled is that it's attached to this bike that feels decidedly modern. These big front forks up front feel like you can absorb anything with them. I love how it boosts the throttle response on this bike. You know, it has this off-road mode that lightens up the throttle a little bit, so when you're going forward and in first gear in some places, it allows you to have a quieter throttle response, which is pretty cool, you know? you're tackling really tough conditions you don't want the throttle response of a big displacement off-road engine you know the front brake feels really good I like this hydraulic clutch that it has I mean this bike is just there one of the reasons why I chose it as my personal motorcycle.
I love a lot of things about it and for me it's the classic nature and feel of a scrambler. It's supposed to be this type of larger, heavier, large displacement engine that was modified and discussed. to do some off-road stuff, you know, the clever among you might say, well, a dual sport is kind of a modern-day scrambler because we've figured out how to build better and better motorcycles, but I think this is actually the real scrambler, this thing is not too heavy I think modern adventure bikes except the middleweight category you know they all weigh like 540 550 pounds you don't really want to struggle with something that big off road and for me and the guy.
Of the things I've addressed with this, it's done phenomenally well, I really enjoy the kind of lifted nature this bike has, it feels like when you ride a lifted jeep around town or something, you're like potholes, who gives a damn shit. I'll take any bump at any speed, I don't really care, so for me, you know, a lot of people say scramblers are bad street bikes, bad dirt bikes or just bad bikes, but these subtle changes made to the model desert sled have elevated the street bike experience in my opinion is getting really high end components on the front end.
I love the way this drops into corners and can handle bumps like nobody's business and makes an incredible sound, so the desert sled for me. It is a motorcycle that scores nine and a half 10 out of 10 and there is a big reason why I chose it as my personal motorcycle. It just fit perfectly with what I wanted to do with motorcycling and it's a really, really special motorcycle. an absolutely bold sound too, let's listen to it here. I'll knock it through the gears a little bit. You love a V-twin. What a sound. A quick break. Look here.
The front brake feels amazing. It's a very similar setup to what's on. The Triumph and the front brake feel great now one thing I will give to the Triumph is that it has a much better gearbox than something like this Ducati. I don't know what's up with the gearbox on this thing, it's always done this since I bought it and I was hoping it would get better over time. It's not really in neutral. It's basically impossible to find on this thing. You have to do what I call a little Ducati dance to put it in neutral.
You have to slightly rev out the clutch. it slides a little bit and slides into neutral, but if you don't know how to do that on this bike you'll just be stuck in neutral all the time, excuse me, stuck in first gear all the time.time, it's a bit of a pain The Ducati on the road here and I've never had a problem with it being on the road. You know, you'd imagine that a motorcycle without fairings or a windshield like this would be a little difficult to handle on the road. Do you know all that? gust of wind and it can be annoying, in fact I rode this thing about 10 hours in one day back from the mountains of galeana, mexico, back here to austin, texas, and it was pretty annoying that you know all that gust of wind for a such a long period of time, but you know it's still a really normal run, all things considered I don't feel like the off-road concessions that have been made for this machine have hindered its street performance in any way, in fact I think many Ha improved street performance without you even realizing entering into sportbike territory because obviously this thing is not a sportbike, but you know, with these Pirelli rally scorpions I feel like it's a really good tire.
I haven't met anyone yet on a twisty road that I can't follow very well, okay I'm a cmra racer so that gives me a bit of an advantage but you can really handle this bike no problem at all something I I really enjoy it. The foot placement on this machine feels like a naked bike, you know, right here under my leg, you know, my feet are sort of right under my butt a little bit, they're not forward at all but not too far back this thing has a really nice and solid stance as far as foot position goes for me personally, I feel like the ergonomic factor in the desert The sled is perfect, it's exactly what you would want in a motorcycle designed for 70 road uses, 30 off-road uses and in my opinion the most fun part of scramblers is when you take them on a big, long, flowing gravel trail.
They really go crazy, they just slide the back end all over the place, they're so much fun, you know, take a big break and have fun, you know, these bikes are basically the king of off-road electric slides. It's a lot of fun to drive when it comes down to it and when it comes to cruising around town, they also remain so deeply rewarding that you won't get tired of driving this, you won't get it, you know you're back. everything is out of shape or whatever, it just feels like a good standard motorcycle and they look amazing.
This one has the LED on the front, a big light ring which the Triumph doesn't have and I think it just elevates its character a bit more, I love this bike, I love this bike and that's a big reason why I chose it and in my opinion the triumph doesn't really compare to it, but I want to be fair, I want to be fair to the Triunfa and be serious about it, but you know, if you're considering doing something off-road with your scrambler, you should get the desert sled It's the all-round scrambler to get it done.
He is such a playful rider. All you want to do is simply slide the rear end around the split corners to do wheelies. I love this bike, it's so much fun and this big loud 803cc air cooled engine, yeah it doesn't make crazy top power but who the hell needs top power? Man, you're not on a race track, you're just lying on the city streets and you know a couple of twisty roads. What do you need 200 horsepower for? You don't need them and then when you stand up it feels so natural. I love this bike, you guys know another one of my favorite features on the sled, of course, is the switchable sit-ups.
You can turn off your crunches on the fly, as I'll demonstrate. They press the button here and it tells them to wait and then the crunches turn off, so now you can make cool real wool slides and all kinds of things you want to do with this machine. You know, you might think that since the Triumph has about 100cc extra displacement on the desert sled, you know that the Triumph is going to feel faster and has more torque, but honestly that's not the case and I think that's due to the fact. That the Desert Sled weighs about 60 pounds less, which is no joke, that's a lot of weight you're saving when it comes to this motorcycle, so I think the Desert Sled embodies the scrambler spirit of a fun motorcycle with the one where you can go off road and do a lot of fun things.
I'm going to slide a little here, it's a blast, this is cool, but yeah, this bike really embodies the spirit of what a scrambler should be and you know they accidentally built a secret little superbike out of it. It's a very fun bike to ride and it's a very fun machine, but with all that being said, let's see what the triumph street scrambler has going for it. to offer afterwards of course we do another wheelie damn this bike is fun alright guys jumping aboard the Triumph Street Scrambler here what a beautiful little motorcycle this is so when we swing a leg over her, the first thing you notice is something like the The desert sled is the seat height, I mean, my knees are totally bent right now.
The seat height is 31.1 inches. It is quite low, quite suitable even for first-time drivers. This is a pretty small sitting motorcycle pose right here. it's nice and wide although i like to turn the key right here win the build quality is already showing itself evident at this point the levers feel good the controls feel good let's turn it on ooh so this bike has a stock exhaust right now but it's got this cool high standard. The pipe still sounds nice and robust as we take off here with it as I've spent a lot of time on this bike and already spent quite a bit of time sitting on it.
I love how easy it is to drive scramblers. They all have this in common. Know your seating positions, your handlebars, they're all very easy to ride and very easy to understand, you know, and I like that nowadays I'm not in a position where I want to spend a lot of time on the street on a motorcycle. , that is not easy. for riding I just want something easy, comfortable and relaxed to ride and scramblers fit the bill now, as you saw on our desert sleigh ride, first impression if you can call it that, I've been there bicycle for almost a year and a half.
Um, I took it there on that little sidewalk and that grassy section, but I can tell you right now that this motorcycle with its five and a half inches of ground clearance I'm not going to try that right there so I don't get stuck and you do. . You have to be a little more cautious with what you tackle with the Street Scrambler. It's not as flexible a motorcycle as something like the desert sled that's now sitting on this machine. It is a bit akward. I'm not going to lie on the pipes. Here on my right foot they stick out a little bit, so I can't put my feet as close to the body of the motorcycle as I would like, like you're supposed to do when you ride a standing position like this, the bars are a little low and Overall this feels a little awkward, it doesn't feel as natural as it would on the desert sled or an adventure bike or something, but it's definitely doable.
I'm still standing on this. The machine still gets into it a bit, as we mentioned, the desert sled is a bit of a party animal. This likes to lift the front wheel as well as you can see? Traction control will limit your ability to do wheelies with it, so in order. In order for you to drive this machine, you have to put it in off-road mode to turn off the trash control, so we'll do that right here. I'm going to go to off-road mode and select it. I literally forget to do that. Every time I ride this bike it's a bit of a pain, it's not so much a party animal as it is a sled, it'll just let you do a wheelie in whatever mode you're in, I mean it's definitely willing to lift the front wheel. but it doesn't feel natural, it doesn't feel like you know it very easily and wanting to do it, but standing wheelies at low speed, all that kind of good stuff, that's one thing, but how does this bike feel when you go out on the road? road, something else.
I also want to point out that every time you put it in off-road mode, it activates the abs in the rear so you can do some super sweet drifts. Look here on this bump, it's still a fun bike, it feels a bit wrong to do it, but maybe that's the true scrambler nature, who's to say, let's put it on the road and find out now by cruising down the street here. A standout feature of this bike is this engine, wow what a beautiful power plant, this 900cc 270 degree parallel twin. It has this beautiful velvety quality, it's hard to explain, but if you rode one you would see how it bubbles up at the bottom end, it really moans and roars in this way, which is very unique before I rode this thing.
I thought it was going to be very similar to the Yamaha Crossplane parallel twin found on the MT07 and To point out, one thing that Triumph does really well is the build quality and the lack of driveline play that occurs on this machine, everything is built very tight and that's why it feels so good to get power, it feels so good. It feels so tight delivering that power. the rear wheel feels great and it's also a completely modern engine which is great to see on a scrambler, this thing is liquid cooled, it has rider modes technology, it doesn't get too hot, it feels really good doing this, but You know, with this seating position. and this overall vibe and the lower seat is much less party oriented than the desert sled this bike tells me very clearly that it wants to ride, it wants to look good and if it really has to it can tackle some off-roading. and some gravel and that kind of stuff, you know, but beyond that it's just a very stylish urban cruiser motorcycle, the footpegs are a little further forward than on the ducati scrambler, it feels like it's a little more inside. a saddle position rather than an upright attack position like on the sled, so this is a really relaxed motorcycle.
You might know that you see the Street Scrambler moniker and you might think it's going to be a hooligan type bike, but no, it's cute. laid back man, this thing is pretty laid back, pretty calm and I don't really feel the inclination to do wheelies all over the place and slide the back wheel and jump over curbs and do a bunch of other silly things I do on my sled in the desert. but overall it is an extremely rewarding motorcycling experience. One thing I really like about this bike is the transmission. Triumph does a very good job with their transmissions.
I'm a big fan of the one on the street, triply big fan of the one on my my race bike, my 675r, and this bonneville are no different, just put it in a gear, never miss a gear, you can fly in neutral perfectly, it's extremely tactile and rewarding, but the difference is that this is a bit of a traditional model, you know it has five speeds. gearbox that if you're used to riding motorcycles with six speeds can seem a little strange and the fifth gear on this machine is basically a huge overdrive that you don't even know it feels like a five gear motorcycle because the fifth gear is like that.
With a long overdrive gear, you basically do everything you need to do with all four gears. Honestly, it's not too difficult to ride this thing in four gears around town, which adds to that kind of classic vibe it has, but I like it. Modern 6b box. I think this thing would do well if it had a more street-appropriate six-speed gearbox. Now the other big difference with respect to the sled is the suspension like a motorcycle, although it costs eleven thousand dollars, it has 41 thousand. non-adjustable front end and dual preload adjustable shocks in the rear, now it's not a bad setup by any means, look here, I move it in this little U-turn here, it's extremely rewarding, stable, playful, I don't have any complaints with the suspension as it is right now it feels really good but it sucks that at a price of eleven thousand dollars I can't tune the suspension to my liking specifically for a motorcycle that is designed to go off road if you guys are familiar with any type of off-road driving.
They know that tailoring a motorcycle to your specific preferences is very important. Get the ergonomics right. Get the right suspension. Get spring rates for your weights. All those kinds of good things make a big difference. when it comes to climbing over big rocks or running down a single track or something like that. God bless anyone who actually takes this machine to single track. You are my hero. I wouldn't have the balls or testicular strength to do something like that. Something I wouldn't be caught dead taking this beautiful machine down a single track, however, a light gravel trail, you know, a quiet, smooth, flowing trail, uh, you could definitely catch me there.
You know, honestly, the Street Scrambler feelsI really feel at home in no time. Traffic situations like this feel great to drive this thing. I like to walk the streets of the city with her. It feels like I'm at home doing this kind of thing, which I really appreciate. I think it's easy to make a very laser-focused motorcycle, but coders like it. I said they don't fit a particular mold, they have to do a lot of different things quite well and Triumph has definitely leaned into this, as the name implies, for the streets. You know, you can think of this as a very attractive Bonneville that has a little bit of off-road flavor.
One thing I will say is it is very similar to the sled, although the suspension is not adjustable. He has 41 thousand. It's not super sturdy or anything like that. It doesn't really feel like it's out of place. when you hit it over a bump or an odd rivet in the road, it feels good, it feels like it soaks up the bumps very, very well, it feels like a competent machine. The biggest feature of this bike is just this engine, this 900cc parallel twin. rad, feels really good, just wish it was mated to a sportier gearbox and maybe had a bit higher state of tune, that would be pretty impressive now, if you guys saw my first impression riding this bike you would know that I'm I took it down a hard road and you know it was good, honestly I could do a lot better than I thought.
I thought it was going to be a complete disaster when it came to more difficult and rocky roads. We have a lot of things mixed up here in Austin, but it really worked perfectly again with a 500 pound bike and not much ground clearance and non-adjustable suspension. I really wouldn't want to tear this down for anything more serious than gravel. path or a very well maintained forest path. I'm thinking about some of the trails I did in New Mexico a few weeks ago with my sled in the desert and this would have been completely lost on some of those trails I wouldn't have had a great time with this, but you know, it's a very attractive motorcycle, it is a very rewarding bike to ride and unlike the desert sled, I think this is an appropriate beginner motorcycle for more mature riders, for someone who wants a cruiser type motorcycle.
This fits very well, so with all that being said, let's take this bike back to the shop. Let's answer some of the questions from our Discord members because I put up a quick little survey there and asked you guys to ask me questions about the sled and the street scrambler and let's wrap this up today guys so coming back to the shop with these two machines I have a lot of questions about Discord that I am going to answer. Respond now, so let's get into it. The piranha asks which bike is close to being a real scrambler.
It depends on your definition. I think the Triumph Street Scrambler is pretty authentic with its five-speed gearbox and twin shock absorbers at the rear. Non-adjustable suspension. but in my opinion, for what a scrambler is supposed to do, which is an on slash all terrain machine that has a classic feel and vibes, the sled is probably closer to a modern scrambler, but they are both scramblers, alejandro asks: would you use? either of these as a commuter, I would happily use both as a commuter and asked if this bike would help me get a girlfriend. I think the Street Scrambler could help you get a girlfriend.
I think girls are attracted to motorcycles like this. much more than your fancy r1s and sportbikes and all that germinate2boy asks how these bikes compare to similar bikes like the ninja 400 or the r3. I guess it sucks because they have nothing in common with the r3. Ninja 400. Gray asks what it would be like to have this bike as a daily bike. The Street Scrambler would be an amazing daily rider. It is super comfortable, very easy and intuitive to use. The big, wide bars give you great leverage on the machine and you can pretty much hustle over any terrain you want, it would make an awesome daily commute.
The angel crisis asks which one would you take out of one bike and automate the other to make a better bike, I guess, out of the other, so that's something I'm going to get. at the end here and I'll talk about that so I'll answer that question towards the end that asks a riley if Nicholas should ditch a z650 and get the win and why he should because then he could finally get a girlfriend. Sorry, Nick, I had to do it to you. Lemon asks between the sled and the scrambler which requires less maintenance which is better for someone who likes to do heavy lifting.
They both have a very high level of after-sales support, so they would both do it. be pretty good at ripping, however I think the triumph street scrambler, given it's a more traditional engine than the desmodromic valves here on the ducati, would probably require less maintenance in my opinion, go for it Joe asks, does the bite motivate you to do more? also, addressing off-road weather, etc., or is it a purpose-built machine and if it is purpose-built, what is that purpose? As we mentioned at the beginning, scramblers are do-anything motorcycles, so I don't think this bike has a purpose.
Anyone who buys a Bonneville or scrambler style motorcycle will probably modify it to suit what they would like to do, like I did with my desert sled. This bike spends about 60 percent on-road and 40 percent off-road, so I've done a couple of things to it to give it a little more of an off-road focus. You could also take the Street Scrambler and make it more street focused if that's what you wanted to do. The weasel asks if the desmondromic valves are removed or added. the classic scrambler feel or you still get that feel with the standard valves on the street scrambler.
Both engines have a very classic feel but in different ways because the ducati is air cooled, it has two valves, it's a very simple engine, it has that kind of flavor. but the win here they've done it in a way that has that kind of classic feel and character, so I don't think the desmo valves take away anything from the experience here and I don't think the modern engine and the scrambler takes that away from everyone modes alejandra has another question, he says: how do you handle female influence while driving the scrambler biscotti? I just do it, man, that's how I deal with it.
Then ask which scrambler is the easiest to own and keep the cost down, gotta give it the win here, you won't have desmos services in this aftermarket, the parts won't be as expensive as something like the ducati, there is definitely a real ducati tax and serious when it comes to This machine idiot says that although you can change any bike if you try hard enough, which of the two is better suited for off-road and if the stock is not enough, what should you do to improve the experience offered on the bicycle? The bikes, without a doubt, the desert sled are much more suitable for off-road than the Street Scrambler, as can be seen by its ground clearance, its long travel suspension is a robust and fully adjustable suspension, the frame is reinforced.
I have taken this off road in several different conditions. and environments and even different countries, and it can seriously do anything you can think of, this machine is definitely designed for light off-road gravel roads, groomed forest roads, that kind of thing you can definitely move the street scrambler, but if things They get harder. Harder than that, this thing will really warp completely, so for this machine I would recommend selling it and buying a Triumph scrambler xe which would probably get you a lot further than anything you could do to it except a simple modification. Doing this would be better foot pegs, maybe a wider and taller bar so you can get better use of the machine when standing on it, but the desert sled already comes with that stock so it's a little difficult to overcome, asks Scotty Espresso. which vibrates more at low and high speeds cruise control on either of these bikes neither of these bikes have cruise control and I think the sled definitely vibrates a little more at low speeds this bike is smooth as butter and pretty much in all Neither speed vibrates at high speeds, which is quite nice, but this one vibrates a little more at low revs.
Riley says you've said before that you still prefer your desert sled, that's true, so who would you recommend trump to trump? I would recommend it. for someone who wants a bit of off-road character and flavor, someone who wants a bike that's going to be a lot cheaper and easier to ride, a lot more modern, but has a fun character if you're not. I'm super interested in going cross country. I definitely recommend the Street Scrambler. This motorcycle with its higher seat, larger and more robust stance, will make you want to go cross-country. You want to do fun things with the sled.
It is a very different driving experience than a street scrambler. The bloater asks if he thinks air or water cooling is a superior option for a scrambler which is really hard to answer. A liquid-cooled engine is obviously more modern, more capable, more robust. I would definitely recommend a liquid cooled engine versus almost any air cooled engine but the air cooled engine on the ducati has never let me down so I can't really say anything bad about it and it's a bit simpler when it comes down to it , but if I did it my way, I would definitely want a liquid-cooled scrambler.
Rollnor asks. I have a friend who is debating between the street scrambler and Indian Scout Bob Black. A strange choice. He is a first-time pilot. Which one do you think would be better? For him, I definitely think the Street Scrambler would be a better first-time motorcycle for someone looking to get into that category. The Scout Bobber, from what I understand, from what Spike told me, is a pretty fast motorcycle and probably not appropriate for beginners, whereas this thing can definitely be ridden by a beginner gentleman. Honda asks which is superior. Excuse me which one makes a superbike easier.
Have you worn anything in the city? I guess this in the city. I have ridden this bike in the city. It works very well. Obviously, this makes a better superbike Germany. Two guys ask which of the bikes feels more modern. This bike definitely feels more modern. This bike actually feels old school in many ways. Riley asks: The difference is largely subjective, no it's not. uh I highly recommend you try both machines. If you are interested in using them, you will definitely notice that there is not only a subjective difference between these two models and again we compare them because they are close.
At similar price and displacement, the regular Icons weigh in cheaper than the Street Scrambler and the scrambler xe and xe models are much more expensive and have a larger engine than the Desert Sled, so it's worth understanding these two models if you can. sit down In both you will definitely notice the difference immediately. Jada Calamari asks which one you would feel most comfortable leaning into a ditch and then picking up to walk away from. All bicycles fall. Some are collected less. Others, blah, blah, blah, thank you. I think so. I would definitely feel more comfortable bidding on the Ducati because I've done it before.
I think the Triumph is a nicer machine than the Ducati. To be honest and frank, I think this is a very nice, well-trimmed bike and I would feel pretty bad bidding on it. This bike is tough as nails honestly I have probably dropped this thing no less than 30 times on road and off road never really on road just off road and it can take a beating it really can be King Windrix, which one smells better? sure win sadifornia cbr says which one would you prefer flat track the sled without a doubt this would be an incredible flat track bike honestly beautiful the child asks I was going to ask which one felt more comfortable but there are like 50 variations that question hahaha, yes, it's true Romo says it seems Pretty clear that the sled is better off-road, true, but would you say the Street Scrambler makes up for that on the road?
I don't believe it. I think the allowances made for the off-road environment on the desert sled. make this an awesome motorcycle on the road that you can crash into the potholes, jump the curbs, do whatever you want, that's what this is about, it's more of a cruiser and quiet motorcycle. He also asks you which bike you think makes everything better. -around bar for daily ride or commuter, it depends if your internal seam can handle it, but I would recommend this as an everyday type of bike, it's my everyday type of bike, of course I recommend it, but this is for doesn't mean it's a bad motorcycle to use again in the whole tube which one smells better is the triumph tribe smells better gray also ask ifcan you steal an r19 from someone in austin to add a comparison that would be cool i couldn't and then erica says which one tastes better lick them she's our pet seller let me see here okay this one tastes like biscottis and this one tastes to black pudding, so I guess I have to give it to the sled here thanks to everyone who sent in questions.
Final thoughts on this for today. None of these bikes are perfect. No scrambler is a perfect machine, but that's what makes them amazing. In my opinion, they are very fun motorcycles, very intuitive and easy to understand. They look super cool, but none of them are perfect. You are considering a scrambler model, definitely go, sit down and try a lot of different ones because they are not all the same. They have segmented this market a lot. You definitely need to sit on different ones to see which one you would like. For me personally, in my dream world, my dream scrambler has this engine that's gone up a little bit, it looks like this, it's about 50 pounds lighter and it has a 21-inch front end, so maybe I want a 10 or a 700 that is not. ugly, I don't know who can say thanks for watching today's video in the next one, so I hate to tell you, but this video actually ended, but if you hit this one here, you can continue watching your sweet potato yam. doing some fun things and if for nothing else do it for yammy chan don't worry I'll wait I'll just wait it's okay take your time
