I hope that saves you some money. Well. Tip number one is the first thing I do on any device. And it's a favorite in the hardcore Android community. It may seem scary. But I promise you it's not. So what I'm going to do is speed up the animations on the phone. There is a difference between what Samsung has built in for its animation speeds and developer mode. Let me show you the difference. So if you go into settings, search for and type animation, you can click on reduce animations. So let's see what that looks like. Comparing the two right now.

So if you click reduce enemy, and, you know, it says it goes faster, but honestly, that doesn't seem like as drastic a change as I'm going to show you now. So what you'll want to do is go to your settings, go to about phone, and then click on software information here. You'll see a lot of information about your phone, but what you'll want to do is tap on the build number. Until it says you're a developer and then you'll have to enter your review, this is the one you set up. It is not mine. Once you've done that.

It will say that developer mode has been disabled, click back and back. And if you scroll down a little bit, you will see an option that says developer options, click on it. So what you need to do is go down to the drawing section and then you will see three different options. It says window animation, scale, transition, animation, scale and animator duration scale. Now for context, let's go back to the animation. So now we're moving between the windows, we lower everything down to 0.5 for all of these. Because that's my favorite. And I don't know if you can say it's much more agile.

This looks really amazing on the new 20 ultra, especially since it has a high refresh display. This is a great option to make your phone feel faster and snappier. Now I will say don't mess with the other settings on this page. If you're not familiar with them, just adjust the animation scales and you'll be fine. Now, a question that comes up often. Whether or not this affects your battery and it doesn't. But what does affect your battery is the refresh rate of your screen on the Samsung galaxy

note

20 ultra, you have a 120 Hertz refresh rate for your screen as an option that is activated by default.

Normally screens run at 60 Hertz, but 120 Hertz just makes it feel smoother. Honeycomb. So when you combine it with that scale of innovation from the previous step, it feels even snappier than before, but the 120 Hertz has a negative impact on your battery. So if you want longer battery life and don't really care about 120 Hertz, let me show you an option to fix that. So to adjust the refresh rate, go to your settings and scroll down to show. Now you'll see this option says motion, smoothness, click on that. And by default. Adaptive, which reaches up to 120 Hertz. Now if you click on standard, the default will be 60 Hertz and then we just apply it and it's back to the normal option, a little more choppy, but much better for battery life.

So along with those 60 Hertz, can you get a higher resolution option for your display? So go ahead and click back, click on screen resolution and then you can go to WQ HD plus. Then you can opt for a higher resolution option. I'm not going to get to that for this video. Recording the screen at 10 80 P. So we'll keep it that way for now. Now, with this big old screen, sometimes going up to the notification shade for your notifications or your settings can be a bit much. So there's a cool little option that allows you to swipe down from the home screen and we'll show your notifications sheet.

So all you have to do is long press on the home screen and click on the home screen. And then scroll down to scroll down to see the notification panel right here, just check it. And then you can go to your settings and your notifications, just swipe down twice and it will take it all the way down. Super useful. Now, along with that idea, you can customize how your notifications are displayed in that bar. If you go to your cell. Click the gear icon, click notifications, and then click the status bar. And then you have three different options for how your notifications are displayed.

You can display the number of notifications, the three most recent, or all of them. If you want to cover the entire bar, I think the three most recent ones. And if you remember the battery, you can also show the battery percentage, which is definitely something I like. The feature that is now very common on Google Pixel phones is an always-on display that shows you different types of notifications and items, as well as providing information. about the music that plays around you. So if you go to your settings and click on a lock screen, you can choose the always on screen and you can tap the screen to show it for 10 seconds.

You can choose the option to show, always show a schedule and then there is the option to show music information. Now the information is always displayed on my screen, even if I have it turned off, and this is an amyloid panel. So the amount of power consumption this consumes is very, very small, because the individual pixels light up instead of the entire screen, like you would have on an LCD screen. And another thing I really like to do with my phones is adjust the font size and the screen size, especially with a movie like this, where I have a big old screen, I want to make things a little smaller, so that I can maximize the amount of content I can read or watch.

So if you go to your settings and then click show, you will see the option for font size and style. Now you can adjust the font size to make it appear smaller. You can adjust it to make it look bigger. So this may be useful for someone who finds it a little more difficult to read small text. I prefer the smallest possible, but we'll keep it as the default for this video. You can also make it shine. Or adjust the type of font that is used. I'll keep it at the default option. And then you also have the screen zoom.

Likewise, I like to keep it as small as possible. It looks like the default value for this one, but you can also get closer. So you can combine the two different options according to your tastes. So, you know, I mentioned that this is an amyloid screen or that there is an option for a night mode or a dark mode to help you not only have a more pleasant experience when looking at your screen, especially at night, but also to change the way you look at the screen. Things are displayed on the screen to help with the battery.

So if you go to display settings, click on that and then you can switch to dark mode. Now, speaking of dark mode, I bet some of you are wondering why my Note 20 Ultra looks so different. I wasn't expecting that, but if matte black isn't your style, they have a ton of other color and finish options like their new pastel series and even some cases with great grip to protect your phone, especially when it's like $1,300 and that can even cancel it, those massive camera hits.

So you can play a note while it's on your desktop, take a deep breath by clicking the link in the description. Now, if you're like me, I like to have my rotation options locked. I don't want it to just crash down and turn on me whenever it wants. I only use my phone, especially when I'm in bed. However, there are times when I'm lying in bed, which probably isn't the best for me, but I want to get into that landscape view, but I don't want to have to keep toggling back and forth. Well, what we can do is just turn your phone over and then you'll see this little option appear in the corner.

That's blinking. If you tap on that, it will just manually rotate the screen and now it will be locked in place like this. You can go back to it right now. If you press the little icon again. And return to portrait with manual rotation, very convenient. Now, with this big old screen, you want to be able to use it well and be productive. I mean, it's a no after all. Well, there is an option to multitask a little easier with split screen. So depending on how you've set up your navigation bar, you'll want to go to the app overview option.

Right now they look like the three little lines here. Now, if you click on that. All your different applications will appear. That is the app overview option, click on the little app icon and then you can click on the split screen view and then choose the second window you want to have. So I have the calculator. So what I can do is adjust the size of each option by simply sliding down from there. So maybe. Checking an email or looking at my invoices and they need to calculate something. That's an option on how you can use this.

And then if you want to get out of there, just swipe up. And now you are in full screen view of that app. There are now many more productivity options available on the new 20 ultra. There is an option called smart popup view, which looks a lot like Facebook chat heads. All you have to do is click on the app overview option and click on the app icon again. Open in popup view. Now you have this little window that is floating around the window to minimize it by clicking this button here. It appears in this little bubble here and you can just hide it.

And then when we click on it, it appears again. You can even adjust its opacity with this icon, right? And you get a little slider, you can expand it to full screen mode with this one here, or close it all here. A really great way to have an app available at any time without being annoying. Now, there is one thing about an iPhone that is really amazing, that excites a lot of people, and I personally use it all the time and I love it too. It's called airdrop and it makes it very easy to share a lot of things with other iPhones.

But with the latest version of Android, you have an option called nearby sharing. And that's available on the Note 20 Ultra, as well as other devices like the Google Pixel devices and the S 20 Ultra. So what you'll want to do is swipe down from the notification shade and then go to close. Which looks like this one here, and this screen will appear and I'll say I'm available for other devices. Now let's go to this other phone that I have here and let's turn on nearby sharing as well. Well. So now that I have a share nearby, turned on two different devices, I can find any type of file and send it to it.

Let me show you a picture they took. Here is a picture I took recently. Uh, I'll choose this share option and then you'll see share nearby. And then there's the other phone I have. And then I just chose it. And now it's being shared right now with the other phone and I press. And there is the photo. I shared it between two phones very easily. We finally have an airdrop option for Android and it's awesome. Now, another thing that is available that comes with the newest version of Android that is available on the Samsung Note, 20 ultra, is a live caption or a live transcript.

All you have to do is have a video or even a podcast and adjust the volume. And then you will see this little option to take care of the down. Click. And then clicklive subtitles. I'll give you a little hint, I'll explain what's going on with that. And she got it. And then from there, you have this little floating, closed bubble that transcribes what's happening in the live video. I don't even have the speaker on right now and for the most part it's doing a very good job. And then if you want to get rid of live transcription, you can also turn it off by going to the volume menu.

And unchecking that. Drag and drop it by the way. There is a merge field, check it. So let me present a scenario. Maybe you have some kids and they need to play a game or check something, but you don't want them to play with your phone, or maybe someone needs to make a quick phone call, but you're not comfortable with them having the ability to do some sort of search. through your phone. You just want them to use the phone. Him. Then there is an option to pin a window. Therefore, you can only use that specific app that you have pinned and he cannot exit it.

Let me show you how to go to your settings, click on the little gear icon and then look for the pinning window and then you'll see the option there. Make sure to activate it. So it's here. So we'll fix it. Now I'll go to this little app overview option and click on the corresponding icon. And I can say pin this app. Then it will tell you to unpin this app and press and hold the recent and back buttons at the same time. And now I can't exit this application. I'm all set up and ready to go.

But if I hold both at the same time, it props it up. Then it goes to my lock screen. I need my fingerprint or PIN to access my phone. Again, we hope that helps protect your information. Here's something really convenient that I use all the time without really thinking about it, but not many people know about it. For some reason, let's say you're switching between two applications, any one. Full screen and you don't want to use a split screen or pop-up view. There is a quick switch of applications. All you have to do is press the app overview button twice very quickly and I'll switch between two different apps.

The most recent. See how it switches between the two very quickly. Now, if you're like me, you might not like the order of the navigation bar because it's not as consistent as what you'd see on the Google Pixel phone. Samsung has an inverted navigation bar compared to Android. So go to your settings and type navigation. And then click navigation. Then you have the option to switch to the stock version of Android, which is this one found here. Or you can use swipe gestures, which is something I really like and use all the time now. Then you will notice that the navigations at the bottom have disappeared.

There's just a little line here. So the way you navigate from there is to simply swipe up. And if you swipe up and hold it, you'll see the app or view appear. And that's how you can switch between things. Now, if you want to do the quick app switching we talked about in the previous step with the swipe gesture, swipe right. It takes a little getting used to and sometimes it doesn't always work, but for the most part it does. Alright, the next tip is really helpful. If you're really picky about your home screen layout, you don't want anyone messing with it.

You don't want to accidentally move something. You just want to lock your home screen and that layout and not move at all. All you have to do is long press on the home screen. Click on home screen settings and then lock the home screen layout. You cannot move any of the icons on your home screen. Now he's just stuck there. Alright, the next one is a great way to organize things on your device. You can hide applications. So what you'll want to do is go to your home screen, hold down, and then go to your home screen settings.

And then at the bottom you have the option to hide apps. You can choose which apps you no longer want to see. So maybe you don't prefer to use Samsung Internet when you do that. And swipe up. You won't see that here in the folder anymore. He hides it. Now, with this huge screen, it can be very difficult to use with one hand, but conveniently Samsung has a mode often called one-handed mode. So go to your settings. Look for one-handed mode for

advanced

features like. Click on that and you can use one-handed mode. So if you're not on the swipe gesture option, all you have to do is double-tap the home button and it will activate one-handed mode.

Now, if you choose the gesture navigation bar style, all you have to do is swipe down from the home screen. So we'll do that now. And look, I just did that and it's this little window that you can move around and there's a little arrow there to choose which side it's on. And if you want to exit, just tap outside of the. And it goes to full screen. Now, maybe you're someone who handles social media for other people and you're using some apps that don't work for having multiple advice ideas at the same time. Well, Samsung allows you to have dual messaging features.

Basically, you will have multiple logins for one social account. Create a duplicate of that application. So go to your city. Write duel messenger. And then when you clicked on that, it shows which apps support this feature. You can have that with Facebook, for example, and then it will ask you to install a second copy of Facebook. Once you do, you'll have your normal login options and you'll see two different versions of the app. Samsung has a really cool feature to help with your phone security. So maybe at work you have some really sensitive files on your phone that you don't want other people to be able to access easily.

You want to put that in a secure folder, go ahead and go to your settings. Write to the secure folder and then you will see it. And then click ok. You'll need to sign in to your Samsung account if you have one. And if you don't have one yet, you'll have to create one. Once you log in, a secure folder will be created for you. Once you've created it, you'll need to set up a lock type. And now I have a secure folder. So now you can reply apps or files to this, and then you'll only be able to access them if you use the passcode or password.

So I'll add this photo of. And it gives you the option to move it or copy it. Now, once you're done setting things up in your secure folder, go to your settings, click lock, and exit. Now you sent me go to the secure folder. It will ask you to log in with your PIN and that's it. Now let's say I'm dating an assistant named Bixby. And when you look at the side buttons, the phone, you have the volume rocker and then this other button, which most people use to turn their phone on and off. Now, maybe you want this to function exactly like a power button to turn off your phone, or you want it to be used for some kind of smart action. If you go to your cell. Now for this last tip, how did I record everything on my screen? Well, actually it's not with the built-in recording option that Samsung offers. Well. In fact, I prefer something that is a little more robust called an AC screen recorder. When I go to the AC screen recorder, I can adjust the resolution to my liking.

I can change the bit rate and frame rate which is really useful. I can lock the orientation. I can adjust how the audio is recorded. A lot of things that aren't available with Samsung's standard screen recording option. You can even work with a green screen. So. Alright. I hope you learned something in this video.
