The Vitruvian Grub Explained... Kinda... Not Really

Jun 06, 2021
Art is beautiful, it stopped the pokin', it has been used to tell some of the best stories ever told, but today we are going to talk about a classic, the Vitruvian Man, this work by Leonardo da Vinci has become one of the hallmarks identity of the Renaissance era. It symbolizes the architecture of nature found in the proportions of the human body, but this is not a damn art class, it is an empty night story video, so what does the Vitruvian Man have to do with something well hidden in How deep in the city of tears? a very interesting drawing called Vitruvius' food.

This is one of the biggest mysteries of Hallo Nest. So what does it mean? Honestly, I have no idea, but hey, that doesn't mean I can't make a tremendously speculative video about it. this is Vitruvius' food, possible ties to Isis, so when you first start playing Hollow Night, you'll probably stumble upon this room at a forgotten crossroads. Here you will find the father of food crying for the loss of his children. The player can find these larvae trapped in glass jars all over the map after finding one of his children and returning to him, the larva father will give you a reward, so yes, the larvae are just an interesting side quest that the player can do while playing, but Who captured the larvae in the first place, it turns out, was this son of a bitch with armed arms, the collector.

More Interesting Facts About,

The Collector can be found in the Tower of Love in the City of Tears and after defeating him, the player can find a map containing the location of all the remaining ones. larvae left for the player to find now there is a lot going on with this guy which we will get to in a second but first I wanted to talk about the Tower of Love itself, this appears to be an abandoned location that was reused by the collector. The tower of love is hidden and can only be accessed from the edge of the kingdoms. The walls of the area are covered with cushions and even the key to the areas is covered with padding.

This whole place gives me a feeling of Eyes Wide Shut, how in a secret elite it is meaningful and attractive. On lewd sexual acts, this is all pretty speculative, but I appreciate the subtle world-building team Cherry does here. Another interesting piece of information is what the corpse of the insect holding the love key in Queen's garden says when it is hit with the dream nail. For a long time together we became one now, if you look at this guy's eyes, you can see black stripes, a feature commonly found on insects that died near the abyss where the void resides.

I think this means telling us that the bug actually spent some time with the collector which itself is a void creature, how do we know that the collectors made a void first? His body is all black, liquid and sticky when he is defeated, he melts into the ground and when hit he emits the same black particle effects that the brothers do and, like the brothers, the collector does not give the soul the player when he hits it, then of course there is the mold found in the white palace workshop. This mold is used to create a humanoid shaped figure with four arms.
This mold was used to create the molds of the kings who guarded the white palace, the collector was probably created here as well, although it may not have been intentional, so yes, the origins of the collectors begin in the white palace, so Which raises a lot of questions why the collector was created. It is possible that the collector was an early attempt to create an empty construction that went wrong and that he just escaped from the white palace and traveled towards the city of tears. Another theory is that the collector was created specifically by the Pale King to capture the larvae.
At least there is something about the collector that separates him from other void creatures the collector is the most expressive of any void creature found in the game, for example one of the collectors dream nail dialogues is my love, my love, protected at last, this type of deep emotional connection is not seen in many void creatures besides the Hollow Knight or possibly Zoo or Hornet. If you believe that a void was also created, the collector does not respond differently after the knight has obtained the void heart, which means that the collector must have independent strength. Well, then what exactly is the collector trying to do?
If this is the case, let's first look at the rest of his dream. No dialogue. The collectors. The other two lines are a safe space for you and for you and for you, and it must be saved from these lines. from the dialogue it looks like the collector is capturing larvae and other creatures to protect them, protect them from what exactly, this is where shit gets weird, so let's say you defeat the collector and rescue all the larvae. Great, you go to the father of the larvae, who is eternally grateful and gives you the final reward.
The larva flies with incredible elegy, but if you choose to return to the parent larva after resting on a bench, you will discover that the parent larva has eaten its children. That's bullshit. look cherry team, I don't know if the practice of eating children is common in Australia but here in the United States it is not, perhaps the collector knows that the father larva was going to eat his children and that is why he captured them as a way to keep them safe if that were the case, although the collector could be wrong, even though the larvae have been eaten, you can still hear them inside the father larva's stomach, so they are not dead yet, also the achievement the player gets Releasing the last larva is called metamorphosis, so this could all just be biology.
The last reward given to the player is an amulet called Elegy of the Grasping Fly which talks about the larvae moving on to the next stage of their lives, so it appears that the larval father is actually sacrificing himself and acting as a cocoon for the larvae to transform into larval flies. The Gerber flies would then emerge from the body of the father's larva, which would not be the first time we see that on the sacred night everything is just a part of the beauty of nature but of course the collector may not have realized it. know, so you may think that capturing the larvae is the only way to protect them.
There's something a bit eerie about it, although if you listen to the collector before you get to the room where you fight him, you hear some strange things now that are creepy, seriously listen to him with horror music playing, not only that but you can also hear the larva choking at one point, why are these cute little creatures involved in one of the most fucked up plots in the game? It's very strange, so let's say that's the collector's entire motive, where does that lead to the Vitruvian larva? Well, the collector seems to find nature beautiful and believes he should protect himself, maybe the Vitruvian larva is just a drawing the collector made.
He represents his obsession with the body shape of larvae, but that's a bit of a boring answer. I think it's time we start wildly speculating. What if there is another motive behind the collectors' actions? What if there is another layer underneath all this? What do larvae have specifically? that the collector is so in love with the fly larvae the elegy mentions that the spell imbues the weapons with the strength of the holes now this is interesting while the larvae are actually more powerful than we could imagine, let's look at the Vitruvian larva again what is the problem with this?
The symbol in the middle of the drawing is not visible on the game larvae, what could it mean? The symbol shows three circles connected to each other. Perhaps this is supposed to represent a Holy Trinity. The number three has already been established as an important number in the game as it takes three dreamers to combat the glare; In other words, this design on the larva's stomach tells us that the larvae do indeed contain some kind of sacred power within them, but what about the surroundings of the larva on the Vitruvian Man? The drawing of the man is surrounded by a circle and a square.
This was done to show the architectural properties of the human body. When I think something different is happening here, first they look like crop circles, you know, the kind left by aliens. I don't think we should believe that larvae are actually extraterrestrials despite compelling evidence pointing in that direction, but I do think this is meant to represent how larvae may be otherworldly or at least very different in nature from the rest of the world. insects. in the game, but there is another interesting thing about the design surrounding the Vitruvian larva, as I am sure you have noticed that there are 46 circles drawn in this image and that is the exact number of larvae that can be released in the game. game, what if this?
The drawing is a kind of representation of the location of the larvae. When we compare the Truvia larva to the world map, there is an easy connection we can make right away. These three points in unison can be aligned with the three larvae found in the Tower of Love. but after that it doesn't

really

make any sense, but I think this surrounding design tells us that the larvae are spread throughout the land, even if The Vitruvian larva is not a 100% accurate map, but this raises another question: why? that the collector leaves the larvae in various places instead of simply taking them back to the Tower of Love.
This is a collector who simply hides them in places that he thinks no one will find them. Is it because they have to be positioned a certain way? Yes that's how it is. this by the collectors, or the collector actually follows the instructions left to him, perhaps the collector was told to capture the larvae and the Vitruvian larva is some kind of instruction on how to do it. I suggest this because the collectors' dialogue only indicates that he wants to preserve the larvae, but there seems to be more going on here. Is it possible that the bucket king wanted to capture the larvae?
Did this sacred power hidden within the larvae scare the cube king? Is this another example of the cube king trying to stifle powerful others? beings, if that's the case then we could have fucked everything up by freeing them all, so yeah, the collector is absolutely crazy and became obsessed with the larvae for some arbitrary reason? Is the collector aware of this sacred power that could be hidden within the larvae? Could it be that the Cube King is

really

responsible for all of this? Is it possible to know the answer at this point? Every time I think about Holland, I will always end up remembering precept 50 from Zelda maii, maybe it's better not to linger. in mysteries for too long is this Jerry team's way of telling us not to worry too much about every little dialogue.
I mean, we make entire theories out of characters who turn their heads slightly, for God's sake. I think Vitruvius' food is really great. The mystery team Cherry has been added to the but there may not yet be an answer to its existence and that's all I have. Let me know in the comments if I'm missing anything or if you have any theories of your own about what's going on with everything. I hope Team Cherry gives us more information on Vitruvian food and upcoming content, but I already feel that way about ten other damn things in this game.
