The Power of Zero Tolerance | Isabelle Mercier | TEDxStanleyPark

Achievement, rather than anxiety? And most importantly, what the hell is stopping you from doing it? Because what you endure is what you worry about. Silence, evaluation, ritual and finally my favorite is “confess.” You see, it's not enough to know it, you have to admit it. Admit what you stand for. Recognize your non-negotiables. Recognize that you are responsible for choosing the things that concern you. Do them today and now. Don't put up with things, people or habits that cause you anxiety. Tranquility is a choice. A choice that requires a lot of commitment, I admit. It is also a choice that requires a lot of determination and courage.

Because? Because it's not easy to say "no" to someone we love, of course not, but it is liberating. No, it's not easy to go to the gym day after day after a long, hard day, but it is invigorating. It is certainly not easy to treat ourselves with the same importance as we treat others, but it is enormously rewarding. So, the next time you are worried about something, first remember that there is a 92% chance that what you are worrying about is just a waste of time and energy. Second, use the hero recipe: silencing, evaluation, ritual, confession and ask yourself, "What am I enduring?

What is it?" And if you're going through tough times and don't remember the recipe for being a hero, which will probably happen, right? This is my second plan for you: I want you to anxiously schedule an appointment. Yes, make an appointment with him. A friend of mine set aside a time slot every Friday exclusively for worrying. (Laughs) I think it's a great idea. And during the week, when anxiety plagues her, this is what she says: "Wow. Do you want to be part of that 92%? Probably. I'll put you on the schedule. I'll put you on the schedule." And worry about you on Friday, between 10 and 10:30.

As ridiculous as it may seem, when Friday rolls around, how many worrying things do you think are still on your worry list? (Laughs) Mostly, nothing. Well, I was nine years old when I channeled my inner hero's method. Thanks to my mother. Finally, thank you. (Applause) (Applause) My mother recently had a nice little opportunity to reconnect with the hero within her. We were sitting at the kitchen table, having a passionate and heated conversation (like my family does, there's no other way than that, after all, we're all from Quebec) (laughs) when the phone rang. As I go to answer her, my mother tells me, "Isabelle, I'm not here." (Laughs) "Are you kidding me?

This is too good to be true. How can I answer this? Because I feel like this has happened to us before." (Laughs) Yes, yes. I approached her, gave her the phone and told her it was time to pay the debt. (Laughs) “Mom, don't be afraid to tell the truth, if you can't say no to what you don't want, you. "You won't have the time or energy to do what you want." Don't you love karma (reward in return)? (Laughter) (Applause) (Cheers) Well, my question to you is: If this is the condition, if you had to endure and worry about something or someone at this point in your life, would you choose to worry or would you choose to foster the hero that do you have inside? (Applause) (Cheer up) Thank you, thank you. (Applause) (Encouragement)
