boxes attached with threaded inserts that are ramp and we sell them on our website if you want to see them and then John just lifts the boxes out of the drawers and then if you remember from the rendering, this piece not only has the resin. and Bastogne walnut on the top back and sides, it also has it on the front of the

desk

, where there are two giant doors and a drawer, so what you're seeing us do now is, with our sander, we cut them to the appropriate size on our panel saw and from there we can begin installing the hardware on all of our cabinets.

We like to use Tectus hinges again, not sponsored, but we would like mainly because of their high capacity to be able to fit these large, heavy doors that we are used to. build on these hinges without having to worry about overloading them, but number two, another really good thing about them is that they have a lot of adjustability, so in case any of these doors move, we can give our customers advice on how to adjust these hinges and If it still works perfectly and you know with complete transparency that it's something that can happen, we're taking a risk using these big pieces of solid wood for doors like this and it can break a lot of the traditional rules uh. but luckily with this style of build we've had really good luck so far and then when it comes to the hardware on top of this

desk

the client went for a really minimalist approach which I think was the right decision - they decided to just have a cable grommet in the back right corner and it's a small metal insert that will allow the cables to run through your computer and I think that's all you need on this desk anyway, another standard detail that we like to add to All of our pieces have a 2mm 45° bevel on the outside, just enough to soften the edge, but not so much that it creates something that becomes a feature on its own.

We still want to keep those lines really sharp, but not create something that's awkward. sit down and then it's up to our finalists to apply the two-part acrylic urethane to this desk. This customer wanted something that would have maximum durability and n

ever

have to worry about any maintenance. and since this is not going to be done in any type of commercial environment where it is expected to take incredible damage and he will simply be using it personally as his home office desk, acrylic urethane is the perfect way to go, so this is a very personalized desk.

This client had many very specific requests that he wanted here. He has a slide out tray for his printer and there should be an outlet right on the back of this tray, but that would create a problem. that if you slide this out, it will disconnect the cable from your printer, so we have a sponsor for that connector drawer who has sponsored this video and they have given us this really unique cable management system for an extendable outlet, so It's on this hinge. Arm Jack will install this into that hole and then there's a little hole on the back of this tray that our cable head can slide through and this will make for some nice organized cable management for this customer, so thanks to cable drawer link for sponsoring this week's video and we'll leave a link in the description where you can go pick up one of these and now we can start packing up all of our components and getting ready for this delivery to Salt Lake.

City, which is something I think we were all really excited about because none of us had

ever

been to that part of the United States, so it was like a little vacation for us, okay, we're here. this morning in Salt Lake City, Utah, and we're going to set up this amazing package that we brought here for him, beautiful day, in the desk room, where that one is with all the brackets that we let hang, here, right, up there. we're going to fall yeah, there's a step coming up, we gotta be okay, one at a time, come up, wait, you guys, stand against the wall, a little angle here, here, we're okay, so let it go, okay , all.
Fingers out, yeah, okay, lean down, real slow, yeah, right, okay, your friends took your Tru, yeah, I start to shake, maybe there, maybe there, uh, we can do it, it's just so it lines up, okay, right where we need it, put it there, you can. screw it in from there it all lines up so he's not there I'll do it right away let me put this one in place we're all hinges they're on the doors oh they're on the doors yeah they didn't. I feel like taking them off and putting them back on, I just wrapped them really well and they were fine, come on, you're not on this side, I don't think so, yeah, well, maybe you're right, I can feel it, Mr.
Krabs, I'm sorry. I expected unpacking to take much longer. This is the end, everyone at the desk is in our client's office, he was kind enough to let me sit in her chair while our team grimaces through the glass, she didn't notice. her actually, but this is one of the greatest offices I've ever been in, obviously, you can tell our client has a hobby that he's very interested in and it's great the way he's set up this room to show everything and then Clearly the centerpiece of everything is our desk, so to explain a little bit about the function of what we built and what this entails, on the left side, we obviously have doors that match the rest of everything, but here we have three drawers which have Bastogne walnut fronts and nested sides, then we have the pencil tray here which comes with a matching front and then on the right we have our printer tray and I guess we can thank our sponsor. again now the docking drawer because they provided this great hardware to allow the outlet to plug in your printer and that has all the nice Bloom soft clo hardware and then of course the main feature of this desk is obviously the way these three sides cascades so you have your two edges behind and I'm going to miss this piece.
Honestly, there are some pieces that we've had in the store long enough and spent enough time with it that you like developing this connection in a weird way of an inanimate object, but I think we've all definitely formed a bond with this desk, so which will be a little sad to leave, but as I mentioned in last week's video, this customer could have spilled some chairs for that table. so maybe we'll have to take another road trip who knows and that will conclude our Salt Lake City series again. Thank you all very much for watching all these videos if this is the first video of the series you are watching.
You're going to want to come back and watch us build the bed, wall art, dining room table, and two benches for this client, but if you've

made

it to the end of the series, a big thank you to you for staying loyal and I don't think I've mentioned it at any point throughout this entire series, but if you feel like we've earned it with the work we've put into this, please let us know. like the video and subscribe to our channel, it really helps us.
