The Dark Knight Rises Pitch Meeting

so you have a Batman sequel script for me, yes sir, I have it, so the bad guy in this one will be Bane and now that the movie starts well, the CIA will bring a group of hooded men to their plane without checking their identities. At least they lift the hoods to check for explosives or something. No, because the CIA never investigates anything. Oh, they don't, and it turns out that one of the hooded guys is Bane. Wow, yes, he's planning to crash the plane. and stage it as an accident, how do you do that? You know, riddling the plane with bullets and ripping off the wings and then dropping the main cabin miles and miles away from the wings and that's supposed to be seen as a normal plane crash, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Well, okay, tell me more about this Bane guy. Oh, he has big muscles and a little mask and he sounds very scary. Oh, how does he sound? He says scary things like I can't. a wall, yeah, super scary stuff, I guess that would be scary, get out of the wall Grover and then we'll see Batman, oh I can't wait to see some Batman action, well you'll have to because he can barely walk, because? Because he was Batman for like a year, he now has no more cartilage in his knees, so he physically can't be Batman anymore and doesn't want to, so it will be quite a while before we see him as Batman.

I guess watching Bruce Wayne limp around for an hour will be kind of entertaining, yeah, and I think waiting for him to become Batman again will make it a lot more exciting when he finally does, maybe later, anyway, Bane and his boys They will attack the stock market. and at the same time the bad guys will use Bruce's fingerprints to make a bunch of trades and lose all of his money. Well, obviously, they were fraudulent exchanges. There is no way for people to treat them as real. Oh, they will. Well, it's more dramatic if you explain it to them, they're right, but it's like 30 hours of air travel. Well, a video could have been recorded. Yeah, so in Gotham they'll say, "You know, enough's enough, let's send in all the police officers." to the sewers and take Bane out once and for all. Did you say all police officers? Yeah, I think it's standard procedure when the police really want to catch someone, they just send everyone in. Oh, I didn't know, where did you learn that he is? I guess the police stuff works well, so how many officers are we really talking about?

Well, let's see that New York City has something like 40,000 police officers for a population of 8 million and we are saying that Gotham has a population of 12 million. By that logic, I'm guessing they'd have something in the range of 60,000, so they send 60,000 police officers into the sewers. It certainly seems like that's what we're going to do, well then Bane is going to set off a bunch of bombs and traps. The police in the sewers are not there like thousands and thousands of sewers. They can escape through what the heck is a sewer. You've never heard of sewers.

The sewers are narrow. You realize this is not an adult movie. What are you talking about? Are you talking about sewers? Well, anyway, Bane will also destroy the bridges and reveal that it is an atomic bomb. Oh yeah, and if anyone tries to leave, he'll detonate it and it will also detonate itself in about five or six months, so he planned it. is to blow up Gotham at any moment, but also let it blow up in five or six months, something like that, so if it's going to blow up either way, why not do it right away?

Because Batman needs time to fix his broken back, oh okay, I got you, so yeah. so Batman has to get out of this prison, oh man, it's going to be hard to do that with a broken back, in fact, it's going to be super easy, barely an inconvenience, oh really, yeah, because Bane put him in touch with a doctor who fixes the back with a rope and a solid punch to the spine. How does Batman's appearance make the ice less dangerous? It's not clear, but Batman is back, baby, everything is fine. How Batman returned from India with no money or resources to a city that is closed is unclear, but he returned with only 12 hours before the bomb explodes, so what does he do right? Spend the first four hours or so on a little art project, oh yeah, paint a big old bat symbol.

It doesn't seem like the most pressing issue, art therapy is very effective, it's a great way to prepare for a fight, okay, good to know, then Catwoman blows up one of the sewer exits and all the cops run out, clean shaven. and ready to fight, clean shaven, oh. They would be very good. I imagine it'll end up being a fistfight anyway, so, well, whatever, then Batman and Bane will fight. but now Batman is really good because he did some push-ups in prison Wow, but then this lady that Miranda Batman hooked up with is going to stab him, wait, yeah, she's going to reveal that she's actually Talia, Ra's al Ghul's daughter from the first movie, oh. Pretty crazy twist, I guess, and then Batman will chase her because she drives off in a truck with the bomb planted. It's very exciting, yeah, and Gordon's bouncing back and forth trying to turn off the bomb or something, oh boy, and then the truck's going to flip and Talia's going to die oh, it is, yeah, and I'd love it. the actress could play it like she forgot she was supposed to die in the scene and then suddenly remembers we can fix that and what about Gordon, how does his death work?

Oh, he's totally fine, wasn't he in the truck too? Yeah, he was in the back bouncing around with a two-ton bomb and he just got out of the hospital, but he's okay, cool, so Batman will blow up the bomb. out of the city just in time and it will explode with a six-mile blast radius. Wow, so Batman's going to die, that's crazy, no, he'll be fine, but like autopilot, he jumps right before he explodes, but a six mile radius, yeah, well. he's a fast swimmer, I guess leave me alone, please and thank you, well okay, then that sword is Robin too, sure, why not, so what do you think?
