The space is nice, but she made a good comment many times. her furniture was old, she had an old side table, it was like overflowing with stuff, it's brown, it's like this dark wood, it just doesn't match the aesthetic that I know she loves, she also needs a lot more storage space that she has. tons of jewelry. I have never met someone who has so much jewelry. It has like jewelry shelves. She has a cork board full of jewelry. It's a good idea, but nothing in this room looks like it. It doesn't feel complete and that's exactly what it is. she described it, she just threw some old furniture in here, the day was over and now she needs help.

. I wanted a day of preparation. because we're going to be painting hanging some shelves, you know, so I wanted to get that out of the way before I started designing it and revealing it to Sarah. Her space is so cute it's full of

pom poms, literally like guys I think they were decorations. soul sisters, but I understand why she needs someone else's attention in this room, there is a lot going on, she has a lot of trinkets and trinkets, which is great, but they are all crammed together.

I don't have a sense of his personality in this room, it's like, okay, well, I had this shelf and I had this dresser, you know, and I had this bed and I'm going to make it work, so really what I'm going to do is infusing this space with personality, as always showing you how to transform a

room on a budget and yes, I can't wait to take you there so the first thing I'm going to do is clean everything in this room that I'm getting. I think I'll get rid of all of her furniture except this bed, take everything out, so I have a blank slate and then I'll start painting.

Okay, the room is empty. It's my favorite thing when a room is empty. I am very excited to decorate. Here is a photo of what it looks like now. Can we take a moment to appreciate the natural light coming through this window? It is so beautiful. Okay, but this is what the

looks like now. It actually looks smaller to me, which is kind of funny. many possibilities. I really love your quilt and I think I'll leave it so cute now. I'm going to make a DIY alternative headboard because this room is so small that I didn't want to clutter it with a large headboard.

I don't want to buy him a new bed. This bed is great, it has storage underneath. I originally wanted to do a big circle behind her bed, but I love the idea of ​​painting half of her wall. Okay, so just put some tape on it and stare. Clearly this isn't level, but since we don't have a big level or a laser level, I'm just going to use this long shelf as our guy, we're just using this shelf as a ruler, making sure it's level on the wall and then I just go underneath with my pencil and I draw a straight line as a guide for where we should place the tape and I stick it just below that line to give us a clean, crisp straight line for when we paint, okay, they're all in. taped it's time to start painting now I chose the color Southern Comfort guys I use this paint color all the time because I love it it's a neutral dusty pink.

Sara's favorite color is pink. I didn't want to be too forward, she's got it. There are so many things in this room she has so many cute trinkets that she has collected over the years and I didn't want this headboard to take away from any of that because I'm also putting up some art so this is just a good neutral point. it's a dusty pink and I think it's going to look great and I think the key to this room is to make it feel sophisticated but feminine and that's something that's a really difficult accomplishment sometimes, as soon as you bring in those baby pink colors it can start a I'm feeling a little youthful, so my goal for this room is to make it feel sophisticated with a boho II vibe while still being pretty and feminine, it's done, it's very dark outside, but wait until you see this view, how incredible is that, so it's the next day is the day of revelation.

I am very excited to have this style of room. I hung a shelf above the closet which I will talk about soon and I also hung a stand which you will find out why later in this video I love it. How this fake header is so cheap. I didn't even use half a can of paint. You can get a small sample jar very easy to make and now this room feels warmer. You have tons of storage in those drawers. Better an open shelf, especially in a small space like this, because all the clutter can hide in those drawers. Now the next thing I'm going to do is, am I so excited about this little trick?

Do you know those movies? The only one that comes to mind right now is Princess Diaries. I don't even know if this happened in this movie where they like to open their dressing room drawer and everything. Your jewelry is arranged and super organized. I wanted to make something similar for Sarah, but I obviously like it much cheaper than a custom drawer organizer, so I went to Ikea and found these cork rivets for five dollars for a three-pack. It was driving me crazy. of your cork board but I felt like all your jewelry was out in the open it made this room feel very cluttered it seemed like it was overflowing with jewelry to store your jewelry take those cork rivets and velcro them on your part superior. drawer suddenly when you take it out you have all this space to organize your studs, so the earrings that have those hooks, like the hook earrings, don't really work on these studs, they work better, so I organized them by color, The purpose of the velcro under the cork is so that the trivets don't move around when you open the drawer, but also so that, if you ever wanted to take out one of the trivets and put it on your dresser while you get ready, it just gives you a little . a little more flexibility but also ensures those earrings aren't going anywhere and then in the bottom drawer I organized her earrings with the hoops in clear acrylic organizers from the dollar store.

I think it's very satisfying to open the drawer and see everything. of those beautiful jewelry on display, so good that I'm now adding their hats right next to the dresser. In fact, I had them up before. I loved. It's such an easy way to add decor to your

bedroom

but also keep it functional. And I'm just hanging. these with thumbtacks, this is a more renter friendly way than hanging them with nails on the walls, you don't want to create huge holes, it's also very easy now that I'm adding a nightstand, open storage can make a small room feel look much messier than necessary, that's why I bought him a nightstand with drawers for clothes so he can put all those things that were on the other nightstand.

I had some lotions, some books like journals, things like that, you can put them away and everything. It looks clean and organized even if you are not behind the scenes, no one will know on top of this nightstand. I'm probably putting up one of my favorite wall sconces. I think I've used it once in a

, which is very bold to say. from Urban Outfitters I think it was under $50 and it runs on batteries so it's really renter friendly and if you don't have an outlet near your bed but need a soft glow, this is the perfect light.

Also, a side note is that this room has absolutely no ceiling. the light in it Sarah really relies on floor lamps, table lamps and I wanted to give her something that just created a cozy atmosphere and this light creates these beautiful stars like shadows from the sun, the star is a flower and I think it's cool add it. cozy atmosphere in this room at night the next thing I'm going to do in this room I've already hung this shelf and I'm going to prop it up now. I knew I wanted to have lots of plants in here and I love a good plant shelf that adds storage in a place you wouldn't normally think of - the best thing about updating Sarah's room. space is that we have identical styles, so I was really pulling from the things that she had collected a lot of the things that she doesn't use in her own space, she just collects them, just like you can use any of these things for the bedroom if you want, like that I'm going to hang this really fun print above her dresser and then add a rug.

Runners are really great next to a bed in a small space, you don't have to feel like you have to fill your small bedroom with a huge rug. It could be nice and cozy, but I think a small hallway is the perfect size for a bedroom. I chose one with a lot of texture, it has tassels and again, you know adding texture to a bedroom really warms it up.

I save it. a nice white color to make all the pink accents in this room really pop on our pet's day yesterday. I also hung this hook next to her closet now Sarah is on blogger, as I mentioned she has fun clothes. I actually took a photo of this amazing one. she has a jacket with pompoms. I ordered one for myself. In fact, I'll link it below although this has nothing to do with the video, it's on sale right now and you all should have one, but I thought having a hook next to your closet was a really nice way to fill this space, it just felt a little empty, so you can display your outfits from the day, you can take photos of your outfits, I thought it was a fun little way to add functionality but also make use of all the clothes you have I put on display as decoration now I'm just adding all those finishing touches around this room.

I'm adding tons of light a table lamp on the dresser this beautiful bulb exposed next to Sara's bed I just want as much light as possible in my own home. I usually never turn on the overhead light. I like a lot of ambient light. I love the lights. In fact, I was thinking the other day that I want a house with so many rooms that I can fill them all with decorative lighting. I'm placing a pom-pom basket next to the dresser with all of Sara's bags inside. I'm adding some flowers to the nightstand. I'm also adding some pillows to his bed again just to make him feel better. very warm and cozy, lots of texture and then the final finishing touch is this printabsolutely beautiful from Society6 Brain Danaiah Kiya River frame.
