I jumped on a call with Tasha to talk about her space, take a look at the before photos and really get an idea of what it's like. she wants and needs in this room hello hello I'm so excited that we're doing this oh my gosh I'm so excited this has to happen it has to come into my life look at this look at this okay so I I love hearing from you um with what you need help in your

bedroom

let's start with that, what's not working, this used to be my home office and then over the last year I actually built a studio outside of my house so this room was empty. and I decided to move my bed here and then since I had kind of a home office, I spent all my time making it perfect and then I came here to sleep at night, so this has been the most neglected place in my house.

He just needs all the help in the world. I imagined this as a very calm space, but like you, where there is nothing around, except that you are like your bed, a cozy rug, a cozy space where you can recharge, that's exactly what I want. I want this to be okay, sleep and shut down and not work because for so long, unfortunately, all my spaces were like you know the same thing and now I'm lucky enough to have this space in the bedroom, so I just want to be able to relax. in this place, so just for decoration, I think we'll focus on you don't really need additional organization or storage solutions, it's mainly making the space look beautiful, the only thing I would say I like to do is because I get up here for In the morning, I like to do my makeup here, so somewhere with a little mirror I can quickly do my makeup and then walk out the door.
Can you walk me through how you envisioned it for the space? In terms of colors and patterns in general, I'm a warm, neutral girl, so whether I like ocher, mustard or terracotta, I have a very bohemian style, but I like to call it as a kind of country girl,

boho

, desert and you have four dogs, right, I have three right now and a rescue, so I told you I need to keep this dog bed. I mean, I will say that it is a beautiful dog bed. It's a day bed from Urban Outfitters. She's as beautiful as she is, but I need her.
That's because there are so many, if I didn't have them, all four of them would be in my bed and I would never sleep well, so we have to find a solution to make the sofa bed work, yes, it is safe. It could be cuter, I think I also chuckled knowing you have a daybed for your dogs. I'm wondering if I should get a daybed for my cats like I have something new, so this is what I'm thinking. I'm thinking a lot of things. natural materials like this woven pendant and then many accessories made of wicker or rattan.
A very fun and inexpensive DIY headboard with paint. Lots of earth tones, mustards, rust, but then a soft pink splashes here and there. A rug that unites all those colors. Moroccan style pillows, as Tasha mentioned on our call, she doesn't actually keep any of her clothes in here, which is perfect for me because it means it's all about decor and making the space feel beautiful and calm, that's how it will work. I'm ordering. All these items Tasha has not seen any of them except the bed, she will like to open it on the day and I hope she likes it.
It's a little stressful for me. I will also send my plan a couple of very, very rough sketches that the guys draw. It is not my strong suit to let her have a location idea, it will add some of her personal touches to the space, of course I will be available if you have any questions, but I hope that all this information will be enough to guide you through this decorating process. Let's go in and see how she fared with her on the first day. Welcome to the first day of this makeover. First thing on the agenda is that we have to paint this room.
Are you going to help me? I'll take that as a no, so day one is done, Tasha finished all the painting, she built the bed, which is amazing. I don't know if I'm really bad at reading instructions, but regardless of whether it's done, here's the bed. Alexandra instructed me to change the location of the room a little. She had the bed in the corner of the room and I actually think she would look much better right in the center of her space. Let's play a little. a little tetris this morning because we are going to paint a headboard on the wall and I need to know how big to make it and the exact location.
I also want to bring the dog bed that was here because I want to see how far exactly the bed can go, this is what the space looks like right now, we have this kind of amount of space here that is definitely more than enough for walking and then here we have approximately this space. I know Alexander got me like a floating nightstand, he said, so we should go and open that box and see what it looks like, oh my gosh, I'm pretty sure this is the end table, it's so cute, look at this, there isn't.
There is enough space for a lot, but it would be nice to put your phone as a glass of water. This is so cute. OMG, I'm going to call Alexandra and ask her about the location of both nightstands and the bed. I know once I have this headboard on the wall it's like the bed has to stay there so let's call it hello hello does it look brighter? Yeah oh my god oh look vlog yeah okay wait let me set you up here ask. away, okay, so question number one is the location of everything because we're doing the painted headboard, we have to do it right the first time.
Yeah, this is what I'm doing right now, so there's not too much room over here, but there's definitely a lot of room here for what we want to do and then if you go to the other side, which by the way I just opened this up, it's so cute like I've never seen anything like this and it's perfect right? the perfect size, but what are your thoughts? This is enough space to walk. Do you think this is the best? Yes, I would say the side table on the left will work as long as you think the vanity chair will work. fit, I don't see that being a problem, I really don't, but yeah, I'm just worried about doing the header thing and then saying oh shit, you should have done it, but no, I think it looks, I think it looks amazing, OK?
I'll probably just mark where the bed is so I know when we're going to paint the headboard exactly where it is. I'm very excited, yes, thank you for today. Yeah, okay, right now. Well, good luck and call me. If you need anything, that's fine, bye, before we continue watching this makeover come to life. If you want to see how I created this and all the ins and outs, you can watch that video on my channel, so yeah, let's start painting. Alexandra has sent I have three surprise paint colors, this first one I'm opening is called banana chips, oh she's like a bright yellow, the next one is called amber beer, oh my gosh, oh I think I like it a little more the next. called butter rum which sounds perfect, oh god let's make a display of all of them on the wall. I really love this one. I love this one from the beginning.
I think we should follow our instinct and do this color. I think it's the best. Now you guys could take this off if you wanted, but I'll do it freehand because I feel like it might look cool if it's not perfectly perfect. You know, okay, I think we'll do it. I need one more layer. I'm going to let this dry and then we'll come back, so it's day three and Tasha is now tackling the lighting in this space. The first thing I thought of was any space I enter. like tasha you need to change the pendant light and i totally saw the opportunity to bring in a lot of texture with a big bold pendant light so i'm sending you two options for tasha because i couldn't decide it's all coming it's time. to address the nipple lamp in my room and we actually have two lamps to choose from so the first lamp I can't believe this is ikea.
I had no idea they had such a beautiful lamp, look at the atmosphere that is happening. here like, how could we do better than this? The second one is from the article, so let's open this box, oh my god, what the hell did she do to me again? Okay, let's get this out so we can see it. Okay guys, so me? I decided to choose the item I liked because it was wider. I thought it would fill this empty space a little better. I think it looks great with the bed frame too, so this is the one we went with I love it so much I think it looks great the next course of action is this desk, so this is the one Alexandra chose, It's going to be perfect and we're thinking it'll go right next door.
The bed in this area I called on an IKEA Alex shelf. I have one in my office closet. It has two drawers for storage and I thought this would be the perfect little narrow dresser for Tasha to use in the morning. It has space to store her makeup. and it doesn't take up too much space, so it's day four of the makeover. Tasha has come so far that everything is finally falling into place. She has a couple of chairs that she has bought that she thinks would work well, so I'm waiting for a call with ask her to look at both options and choose my favorite, you're being blocked, okay, the problem withthe two chairs is that one is much taller than the other so we really need to narrow down like we can't decide later we have to decide now so I want to show you the two chairs because you haven't seen either of them.
No, I'm very excited. The first is like a rocking chair. Generally, I love it. Okay, but let me pull this chair down so you can see what. It looks like there's the other chair, yeah, I love that one, yeah, I think that's the one that's the height, okay? Yeah, so I have to lift it up a little bit because right now it's like I'm resting there, so I'm going to lift it slightly and then it would be good. I feel like this chair is more like it ties the rest together. in the room, where is that chair?
She's beautiful, but she's a little white, so okay, yeah, okay, she looks amazing. Now it's time for Tasha to hang these linen curtains I sent her, but I'm giving it a DIY touch. So what you will need are two leather knobs. I bought these from Ikea. You can get yours on etsy and you also need some wall anchors so you need to place the wall anchors on the wall on either side of the window frame and then rotate them. on the knob and then you want to slide a cut peg into the side of the window frame through the leather handles and that's so simple.
I saw this DIY on the paper and sewing blog, probably the cheapest way to hang curtains that I also needed. To find a solution for the wall opposite Tasha's bed, we had talked about maybe hanging a TV on this wall, but Tasha ultimately decided against it, so I thought an art wall would be perfect. Now my favorite way to create a more renter-friendly gallery wall is to use photo shelves so it can be like an ever-changing wall based on how your room evolves and grows over time for the shelves. We have received a package with art.
I feel like art is a very personal thing so I'm a little scared maybe I should just put it in the frame and then turn it around okay let's turn it around to see what we have oh she's pretty okay clearly I framed it really badly but look how cute this is oh okay I'm looking oh look at this I love it okay let me put all these in the frame and then I'll turn them around and show you I love these two prints and Alexander told me to be honest and this I just did it.
I'm not a big fan, I think he's the gray one. I know I'm being ridiculous, but I think this is one that I'm not too obsessed with enough to have in my room, so these are perfect, so perfect and Then she also gave me a frame because I told her I had this print that I would love to put in the room and it says save our planet, raise a hippie and I think all three go great together, these work. For me, I sent three shelves. I suggested he stagger them on the wall and fill them with some art I sent him.
Thanks to main concept for sending some artwork. By the way, all products will be linked below. Good. Good morning everyone welcome to the last day of the makeover, today is the day of the reveal. We have a couple of things I need to address before we can go ahead and do the reveal with Alexandra on a video call. Unfortunately, we had a little hiccup. The rug won't arrive on time, but I have this really beautiful rug that Alexandra also thought was very beautiful, so I think it will look good. Now it's time for all those finishing touches.
Big shout out to love and Gray Tasha. She introduced me to her store. She is based in the United States. Guys, her stuff is amazing. She sent me some beautiful pillows to finish off this space. I didn't want it to look like a dog bed when you walked into the room so I thought about some cushions stacked against the wall because obviously when the dogs are away it would really tie this whole space together so thank you love and gray for your beautiful cushions , Tasha has finished the room, we are going to get a call and she will reveal it to us. the space for me, cross my fingers that she likes her new room hello, I see you so good girl, I can't even, I love it, I'm so happy, I'm so me too, obviously the headboard is so good and then what more too?
The cabin works very well, that was the biggest challenge of this space. It's perfect, it seems intentional, like we don't have to make it work. Yes I love it. The curtains, how high you put them, makes the ceilings look much higher when you place the chair. The corner I simply took care of making another seating area. I love it, look at the art, it looks so good. I put it with some dry palms. I thought it was cute. That chair was a good choice and then the light, of course. the light is amazing look how good it looks oh, I always neglect my bedroom space, but this is probably the first time as a 13 year old that I have a bedroom that can be enjoyed as if I were coming out of it like an entire magazine. and I never had that before so thank you because I'm like the most important thing is to give your space to someone else to design, it's like you're worried because you don't know if they're going to channel the interview that I don't do.
I don't know, but this looks like my Instagram feed, which makes my skin crawl. It's like the quietest bedroom space. I think I've had them. I'm very happy. A big thank you to Tasha for making this video possible. You did an amazing job filming and setting up your space. Thanks to Squarespace for sponsoring this video as well.
